Imbuki ya kahayile kenako yingilile kubhuzugi bho walwa ubho bhudapile. Ulu walwa bhuzuga, aliyo bhukija ugupya chiza, ilihumbi lyabho lidashokejiyagwa. Gashinaga lulu, ibhelelile bhuzugwe bhungi uwalwa bhunubho. Hunagwene abhanhu bhagayombaga giki, ‘kwilungu bhadajaga lwa kabhili.’
Akahayile kenako kagalenganijiyagwa kuli munhu uyo agitaga mihayo, nulu milimo yakwe, bho nduhu ugwita bhukengeji bho gudula gung’wambilija uguimala chiza.
Uweyi agitimbukilagwa wandyaga nimo, nulu mhayo, bho nduhu ugugamana amakoye ayo gadulile gwilonga, umunimo, nulu mhayo gunuyo. Hunagwene abhanhu, ulu gigela makoye umunimo gokwe, bhagayomgaga giki, ‘kwilungu bhadajaga lwa kabhili.’
Akahayile kenako, kalanga bhanhu higulya ya gwita bhukengeji bho milimo yabho chiza, haho bhatali ugwitumama, kugiki bhadule ugugiliga amakoye ayo gakomile gwigela, umubhutumami bho milimo yabho.

KISWAHILI: MPIKO WA POMBE YA KIENYEJI HAURUDIWI MARA YA PILI.
Chanzo cha msemo huo chatokea kwenye upikaji wa pombe ambayo haijaiva. Pombe ikipikwa ikakosewa kupikwa ikawa haijaiva vizuri, hairudiwi kupikwa tena. Kumbe basi, yafaa ipikwe pombe nyingine. Ndiyo maana watu husema kwamba, ‘mpiko wa pombe ya kienyeji haurudiwi mara ya pili.’
Msemo huo hulinganishwa kwa mtu yule, ambaye hufanya kazi zake bila kufanya utafiti wa kumwezesha kuzimaliza vizuri.
Mtu huyo, hufanya kazi zake kwa kukurupuka, bila kuangalia kwanza matatizo ambayo, yaweza kutokea kwenye kazi hiyo, ili kuzifahamu njia za kuyatatulia.
Ndiyo maana akitapata matatizo kwenye kazi anayoifahanya mtu huyo, watu husema kwamba, ‘mpiko wa pombe ya kienyeji haurudiwi mara ya pili.’
Msemo huo hufundisha watu juu ya kufanya utafiti wa kazi wanazotaka kuzifanya, kabla ya kuzianza, ili waweze kuyakwepa matatizo ambayo yanaweza kutokea kwenye kazi hizo.

ENGLISH: THE COOKING OF THE TRADITIONAL BREW IS NOT REPEATED.
The source of the saying comes from half-cooked local brew. If a cook hasn’t cooked properly her local brew, there is no possibility of orrecting the mistake. The solution is to cook another brew. This is why people say ‘the cooking of the traditional beer is not repeated’.
The saying can be compared to a person who performs his/her tasks without doing research that can enable him/her to finish it properly. Such people perform their tasks without first looking at problems that may arise and find ways to resolve them.
The saying teaches people about researching before engaging in actual performance of tasks one wants to do. This can help them to avoid problems in future.
