ENGLISH: WHY HAVE YOU SLEPT?

The source of the above saying comes from someone who appears to be asleep. Such a person usually does not hear anything because of his/her sleep. He/she is always asleep even when he/she has to be awake. Such people are always being asked: ‘why have you slept?’

This saying can be compared to a person who does not understand what is going on around him/her. Something might happen that he/she should have understood, but he/she does not understand it. The saying can also be likened to a lazy person who does not want to work. This is why people can ask such a person ‘why have you slept?’ to mean that he/she has to wake up.
