1104. SAMA YA NGALU PA IJITUMAMILO UMU MUNDUKA, UWEYI USIMIZA BHO MAGULU.

Imbuki ya kahayile kenako, ilolile ubhusami bho mbula. Imbula yiniyo ulu lyushiga ilikanza lya goya gutula, amalunde gagandyaga guselema gayuja ng’weli.

Abhanhu ulubhugabhona amalunde genayo gagujaga ng’weli bhagamanaga iki imbula ilisama. Hunagwene bhagayombaga giki, “sama ya ngalu pa ijitumamilo umu munduka, uweyi usimiza bho magulu.”

Akahayile kenako kagalenganijiyagwa kuli munhu uyo agadililaga jikolo jakwe bho gugulekanija umili gokwe, umukikalile kakwe kenako. Umunhu ng’uwunuyo, agikalaga na jizwalo jishilile na  jiliwa jigehu aha kaya yake, aliyo isabho alinajo, kunguno ya gudilila jikolo kulebha umili gokwe, umuwikaji bhokwe bhunubho. Uweyi agikalaga ukoya na nzala aha kaya bho jigugila isabho jakwe jiniyo, kunguno ya bhujidalonja bho mili gokwe bhunubho.

KISWAHILI: UHAMAMI WA MGALU KUJAZA VITENDEA KAZI VYAKE KWENYE GARI, YEYE KUTEMBEA KWA MIGUU.

Chanzo cha msemo huo, huangalia uhamaji wa mvua. Mvua hiyo ikifikia muda wake wa kuacha kunyesha, mawingu huanza kuelekea magharibi.

Watu wakiyaoana mawingu hayo yakielekea magharibi huelewa kwamba, mvua inahama. Ndiyo maana husema kwamba, “uhamaji wa mgalu kujaza vitendea kazi vyake kwenye gari, yeye kutembea kwa miguu.”

Msemo huo, hulinganishwa kwa mtu yule ambaye huwa haujali vizuri mwili wake, katika maisha yake. Mtu huyo, huvaa nguo zilizochakaa na hukosa chakula kwenye familia yake wakati mali anazo, kwa sababu ya kutokuujali vizuri mwili wake huo. Yeye husumbulia na tatizo la njaa kwenye familia yake hiyo kwa kutokuzitumia mali hizo kununua chakula, kwa sababu ya kutokuujali vizuri mwili wake huo, maishani mwake.

Mtu huyo, hufanana na yule muwekaji wa vitendea kazi vyake kwenye gari na yeye akitembea kwa miguu, maishani mwake, kwa sababu naye huvaa nguo zilizochakaa na kukosa chakula kwenye familia yake hiyo. Ndiyo maana watu humwambia kwamba, “uhamaji wa mgalu kujaza vitendea kazi vyake kwenye gari, yeye kutembea kwa miguu.”

Msemo huo, hufundisha watu juu ya kuzitumia mali zao kwa kuitunza vizuri miili yao, ili waweze kuilinda vizuri, maishani mwao.

1103. IGOGO LYAB’ULAGA NZILA.

Akahayile kenako, kahoyelile higulya ya b’ub’ulagi bho nzila bho ligogo. Iligogo linilo lililinti ilo lyalilyazwila bihi na nzila. Ilinti linilo ligagwa lyuyichib’a nzila iyo bhabhitilaga abhanhu kunguno ya bhutale bholyo mpaga bhushesha yingi. Hunagwene abhanhu bhagayomba giki, “igogo lyab’ulaga nzila.”

Akahayile kenako kagalenganijiyagwa kuli munhu uyo agikalaga na nguzu ja gulemeja mihayo iyo idiyawiza, umukikalile kakwe. Umunhu ung’wunuyo agabhalemejaga abhana bhakwe agwikala na nhungwa ija bhubhi bho gubhalela mugwita mihayo ya wiza iyo idulile gubhambilija gwitogwa chiza kunguno ya bhutungilija bhokwe bhunubho, umuwikaji bhokwe. Hunagwene abhanhu bhagang’witanaga giki, “igogo lyachib’a nzila.”

KISWAHILI: GOGO LIMEUA NJIA.

Msemo huo, huongelea juu ya uuaji wa njia wa gogo. Gogo hilo ni mti ulioota na kukua karibu na njia. Mti huo, ulianguka ukaiziba njia ile waliokuwa wakiipitia watu kwa sababu ya ukubwa wake huo mpaga ikawabidi kutengezeka njia nyingine ya kupitia. Ndiyo maana watu hao walisema kwamba, “gogo limeua njia.”

Msemo huo, hulinganishwa kwa mtu yule ambaye ana nguzo na uwezo wa kupinga maovu katika maisha yake. Mtu huyo, huwalea watoto wake katika maadili ya kukataa uovu kwa kutenda matendo wema uwasaidiayo kuishi maisha ya upendo kati yao, kwa sababu ya uaminifu wake huo, maishani mwake. Yeye huilea vyema familia yake kwa kuishi maisha ya kusaidiana vizuri katika kazi zao, kwa sababu ya kuyaishi kwake vizuri maadili hayo mema, katika maisha yake.

Mtu huyo, hufanana na lile gogo lililoziba njia baada ya kuanguka, kwa sababu naye huyakataa maovu kwa kuwafundisha watoto wake kutenda mema siku zote. Ndiyo maana watu humuita kwamba “gogo limeua njia.”

Msemo huo, hufundisha watu juu ya kukataa uovu kwa kuyashikilia malezi ya kutenda wema, ili waweze kusaidiana vizuri katika kazi zao, maishani mwao.

ENGLISH: A LOG KILLED A PATHWAY.

This saying talks about a road blocking of the log. This was the log which is a tree that grew near the path. Such tree fell and blocked the way which people were going through because of its size, so they had to make another way through. That is why those people said that, “a log killed a pathway.”

This saying is related to a person who has an ability to resist evil in his life. Such person raises his children in values ​​of rejecting evil by doing good deeds that help them to live a life of love among themselves, because of his honesty in his life. He brings up his family well by living a life of helping each other well in their daily works, because of his living those good values ​​well, in his life.

This person is like the log that blocked the way after falling, because he also rejects evil by teaching his children to do good all the time. That is why people call him “a log killed a pathway.”

This saying teaches people about rejecting evil by upholding the formation of doing good deeds, so that they can help each other well in their daily works.

Umunhu ng’wunuyo, agigulambijaga gutumama milimo yakwe chiza mpaka opandika jiliwa ja gubhalisha abhanhu bhakwe kunguno ya bhutogwa bhokwe bhutali ukubhoyi. Uweyi agikalaga na bhanhu bhinghi aha kaya yakwe abho abhalanhanaga bho gubhalanga nhungwa ja gwiyambilija chiza na bhichabho, umuwikaji bhobho.

Umunhu ng’wunuyo, agikolaga nuyo agagulanhana umili gokwe bho wigwikumba ng’wenda pye umili, kunguno nuweyi agabhalanhanaga abhanhu bhakwe bho gubhambilija chiza umukikalile kakwe. Hunagwene abhanhu bhagang’wilaga giki, “wikumbaga gubugugu.”

KISWAHILI: AMEJIFUNIKA GUBIGUBI.

Msemo huo, huangalia ujifunikaji nguo wa mtu fulani. Mtu huyo, hujifunika nguo yake mwili mzima kwa lengo la kuulinda mwili wake huo usipigwe na baridi. Yeye huulinda mwili huo dhidi ya baridi kali kwa kuufunika nguo hivyo muda wote, katika maisha yake. Ndiyo maana watu humwambia kwamba, “amejifunika gubigubi.”

Msemo huo, hulinganishwa kwa mtu yule ambaye huitunza vizuri familia yake, katika maisha yake. Mtu huyo, hujibidisha kufanya kazi vizuri mpapa anapata chakula cha kutosha kuwalisha watu wake, kwa sababu ya upendo wake alio nao kwao.  Yeye huishi na watu wengi kwenye familia yake hiyo ambao huwafundisha tabia njema za kusaidiana kufanya kazi vizuri na wenzake, maishani mwake.

Mtu huyo, hufanana na yule ayeulinda mwili wake kwa kuufunika nguo, kwa sababu naye huwatunza watu wake kwa kuwasaidia kupata mahitaji yao vizuri, katika maisha yake. Ndiyo maana watu humwambia kwamba, “amejifunika gubigubi.”

Msemo huo, hufundisha watu juu ya kuzitunza vizuri familia zao kwa kuwasaidia watu wao hao kupata mahitaji yao na kuwalea vyema, ili waweze kuishi salama, maishani mwao.

ENGLISH: HE HAS COVERED HIMSELF COMPLETELY.

This saying looks at a covering of clothes of a certain person. This person covers his whole body with clothes in order to protect his body from cold condition. He protects the body from such cold by covering it with clothes all the time, throughout his life. That is why people tell him that, “he has covered himself completely.”

This saying is compared to a person who takes good care of his family, in his life. Such person, tries hard to work well to the point of getting enough food to feed his people, because of his love for them. He lives with many people in his family by teaching them good habits which can help each other to work well with his colleagues.

This person resembles the one who protects his body by covering it with clothes, because he also takes care of his people by helping them get their needs well, in his life. That is why people tell him that, “he has covered himself completely.”

This saying teaches people on how to take good care of their families by helping them to meet their basic needs that can raise them well, so that they can live safely in their lives.

Umunhu ng’wunuyo, agikalaga na bhukali bho gubhatula abhana bhakwe bhenabho nulu bhahubhaga hadoo duhu, kunguno ya bhupelanu bhokwe bhunubho, umuwikaji bhokwe.  Uweyi agabhalabhulaga bho gubhitila malonda ukumimili yabho abhanhu bhakwe bhenabho, kunguno ya gubhatula sagala, umukikalile kakwe kenako.

Umunhu ng’wunuyo, agikolaga nuyo agantula manasu ung’wana okwe mpaga unhekela lumeng’ho, kunguno nuweyi agabhatulaga abhana bhakwe mpaga obhitila malonda, umuwikaji bhokwe. Hunagwene abhanhu bhagayombaga giki, “manasu ganzwila ku ngongo.”

Akahayile kenako, kalanga bhanhu higulya ya guleka bhukali bho gutula bhanhu sagala bho gubhahugula chiza abhichabho bhenabho, kugiki bhadule gujilela chiza ikaya jabho, umuwikaji bhobho.

Msemo huo, huangalia upigaji wa viboko wa mtu fulani. Mtu huyo, alikuwa na mtoto wake ambaye alimkosea kidogo tu na yeye akaanza kumpiga viboko vya mgongoni mpaka vikaacha alama, kwa sababu ya ukali wake huo. Alama za viboko hivyo, zilikuwa kama vimeota kwenye mgongo wa mtoto huyo. Ndiyo maana watu walisema kwamba, “fimbo zimemwota mgongoni.”

Msemo huo, hulinganishwa kwa mtu yule ambaye anahasira za kuwapiga hovyo watoto wake, kwenye familia yake. Mtu huyo, huwa na hasira za kuwapiga watoto hao hata kama wanakosa dogo kiasi gani, kwa sababu ya ukali wake huo, maishani mwake. Yeye huwasababishia kuwa na madonda watoto wake hao kwa sababu ya kuwapiga bila sababu za msingi, katika maisha yake.

Mtu huyo, hufanana na yule aliyempiga mtoto wake viboko mpaga vikaacha alama, kwenye mgongo wake, kwa sababu naye huwapiga hovyo watoto wake mpaga anawaachia alama kwenye miili yao. Ndiyo maana watu huwaambia watoto wake hao, kwamba “fimbo zimemwota mgongoni.”

Msemo huo, hufundisha watu juu ya kuachana na hasira za kupiga watu hovyo kwa kuwaonya vizuri na kwa upole, ili waweze kuzilea vyema familia zao.

ENGLISH: THE STICKS HAVE GERMINATED ON HIS/HER BACK.

This saying looks at the whipping of someone. There was a man who had a son in Shiyanga. His son wronged him in just a small matter. Such man started beating him on the back until the sticks left marks, because of his severity. The marks of the whips, were as if they had grown on the child’s back. That is why people said that, “sticks have germinated on his/her back.”

This saying is compared to the person who easily becomes angry by beating his children carelessly, in his family. Such person becomes very angry to the point of hitting his children no matter how little they miss, because of his severity, in his life. He causes his children to have wounds because of beating them for no reason, in his life.

This person is like the one who spanked his child to the point of leaving marks on his back, because he also beats his children carelessly and leaves marks on their bodies. That is why people say to his his children that “sticks have germinated on his/her back.”

This saying teaches people to get rid of the anger of hitting people carelessly by warning them well and gently, so that they can peacefully raise their families.

KISWAHILI: KUKIMBIZA MWENGE.

Alikuwepo mtu mmoja ambaye alikula chakula mpaga akavimbiwa. Tumbo lake mtu huyo, lilichaguka mpaka akaanza kwenda chooni mara kwa mara na kusaidia kinyezi kwenye maji maji.

Kwa hiyo, neno kukimbiza mwenge kwake mtu huyo, ni kuharisha mara kwa mara. Watu husema kukimbiza, halafu yeye mwenyewe humaliza, akielewa kwamba ni kuharisha mara kwa mara. Ndiyo maana watu walimwambia mtu huyo kuwa, alipata tatizo la “kukimbiza mwenge.”

Mtu huyo, hufanana na yule aliyekula chakula mpaga akavimbiwa na kuanza kuharisha, kwa sababu naye huitumia vibaya mali yake kwa kulewa pombe mpaga anapata matatizo mengi, katika maisha yake. Ndiyo maana watu humwambia kwamba, anatatizo la “kukimbiza mwenge.”

Msemo huo, hufundisha watu juu ya kuacha matumizi mabaya ya mali zao kwa kuzitumia vizuri, ili ziweze kuwasaidia kwa kipindi cha muda mrefu, maishani mwake.

ENGLISH: CHASING A TORCH.

There was a man who ate food and he became constipated. This man’s stomach was so upset that he started to go to the toilet regularly for answering a call of nature that was bowels of the water.

Therefore, the word to chase the torch to that person means frequent diarrhea. People say to chase, and then he himself finishes, understanding that it is frequent diarrhea. That is why people told the man that he had a problem of “chasing a torch.”

This saying is related to a person who uses his assets carelessly in his work. This person destroys his properties by drinking alcohol. He become a drunkard who gets drunk and starts insulting people because of such alcohol. He gets many problems in his life, because of his misuse of wealth.

This person resembles the one who ate food and became constipated to the point of starting to have diarrhea, because he also misuses his wealth by drinking too much alcohol until he gets many problems in his life. That is why people tell him that he has a problem of “chasing a torch.”

This saying imparts in people an idea of stopping to abuse their assets by using them properly, so that they can help them for a long time, in their lives.
