goats

ENGLISH: NEVER PASTURE ME AMONG SMALL GOATS/GOAT’S KIDS

The source of this proverb is a person who pastures goats. The person who tends goats usually separates kids from old goats. Each group is pastured separately. So, an old goat will refuse to be pastured in the same group as kids no matter how small it is in shape. That is why people say, ‘never pasture me among goat’s kids.’

The proverb is analogized to an adult person who is despised by his/her peers because of being small in appearance. The person usually refuses to be treated as a child by saying, “never pasture me among goat’s kids.”

The proverb teaches people to stop the habit of despising other people in their lives.
