1112. KALAGU – KIZE. MUNHU NG’WENUYU NADAMANILE UKO AFUMILE NUKO AJILE – LUYAGA.

Ikalagu yiniyo ihoyelile higulya ya luyaga. Uluyaga lunulo lugahuyembaga lujile mumabala matale aliyo lulu ludamanyikile uko lulifumila nuko lujile. Hunagwene abhanhu bhagayombaga giki, “munhu ng’wenuyu nadamanile uko afumilile nuko ajile – Luyaga.”

KISWAHILI: KITENDAWILI – TEGA.

MTU HUYU SIJUI ATOKAKO NA AENDAKO – UPEPO.

Kitendawili hicho huongelea juu ya upepo. Upepo huo huvuma kuelekea sehemu mbalimbali, lakini huwa haujulikani unakotoka na unakoelekea. Ndiyo maana watu husema kwamba, “mtu huyu sijui atokako na aendako – Upepo.”

Kitendawili hicho, hulinganishwa kwa mtu yule ambaye huwa hana msimamo mzuri katika maisha yake. Mtu huyo, hupendelea kutembea hovyo bila kutulia kwenye familia yake kwa sababu ya uvivu wake wa kutokufanya kazi. Yeye hushindwa kuiendeleza vizuri familia yake kwa sababu ya kutokutulia nyumbani kwake huko, maishani mwake.

Mtu huyo, hufanana na ule upepo usiojulikana kule uendako na ulikotoka, kwa sababu naye hudhurura hovyo bila kutulia nyumbani kwake, katika maisha yake. Ndiyo maana watu humwambia kwamba, “mtu huyu sijui atokako na aendako – Upepo.”

Kitendawili hicho, hufundisha watu juu ya kuwa na msimamo wenye tabia njema ya kuwawezesha kuzilea vyema familia zao, maishani mwao, ili waweze kupata maendeleo makubwa, maishani mwao.

ENGLISH: I HAVE A RIDDLE – LET IT COME.

I DO NOT KNOW WHERE THIS MAN COMES FROM AND WHERE HE IS GOING – THE WIND.

This riddle talks about the wind. This wind blows in different directions, but no one knows where it comes from and where it is going. That is why people say that, “I do not know where this man comes from and where he is going – the wind.”

This puzzle is compared to the person who does not have a good position in his life. Such person, prefers to walk carelessly without settling well in his family because of his laziness of not working. He fails to bring progress to his family properly because of his unsettled home there in life.

This person is like the wind that one does not know where it is going and where it came from, because he also stays carelessly without working well in his home in life. That is why people tell him that, “I do not know where this man comes from and where he is going – the wind.”

This riddle teaches people about having a good attitude that can enable them to raise their families well, in their lives, so that they can achieve great progress in their lives.

Umunhu ng’wunuyo, agidika na gutimija iyo lyang’wilaga ililaka linilo. Hunagwene abhanhu bhagiganila giki, “nagang’wigwaga aliyo nadamonaga – ilaka.”

Ikalagu yiniyo igalenganijiyagwa kuli munhu uyo agabhigwaga chiza abho bhagang’wilaga mihayo, umuwikaji bhokwe. Umunhu ng’wunuyo agatumagwa gujutumama milimo na bhiye oja ugaitimija chiza kunguno ya bhutungilija bhokwe bhunubho, umukikalile kakwe. Uwei agikalaga bho mholele na bhiye kunguno ya witegeleja bhokwe bhunubho, umuwikaji bhokwe.

Umunhu ng’winuyo agikolaga nuyo agwigwa ilaka liling’witana widika bho nduhu ugumona umunhu uyo aling’witana, kunguno nuwei agiigwaga chiza imihayo iyo bhaling’wila abhiye, na guyitimija chiza. Hunagwene abhanhu bhagang’wilaga giki, “nagang’wigwaga aliyo nadamonaga – ilaka.”

Ikalagu yiniyo, yalanga bhanhu higulya ya nhungwa ja guigwa chiza imihayo ya bhichabho na guitimija, kugiki bhadule kujibheja chiza ikaya jabho.

Kitendawili hicho huangalia sauti ambayo mtu huisikia bila kuiona. Alikuwepo mtu mmoja ambaye alisikia sauti ikimuita bila kumuona mtu yule anayemuita. Mtu huyo, aliitika na kutekeleza kile alichoambiwa na ile sauti. Ndiyo maana watu walihadithiana kwamba, “namsikia lakini simuoni – Sauti.”

Kitendawili hicho hulinganishwa kwa mtu yule ambaye huwasikia vizuri watu wanaompatia ujumbe na kuutekeleza, maishani mwake. Mtu huyo hutumwa kwenda kutekeleza majukumu na wenzake na kuyatii vizuri kwa sababu ya unyofu wake huo, katika maisha yake. Yeye huishi kwa amani na wenzake kwa sababu ya uaminifu wake huo maishani mwake.

Mtu huyo, hufanana na yule aliyeitii sauti iliyomuita bila kumuona mtu aliyemuita, kwa sababu naye huyasikiliza vizuri maneno anayoambiwa na wenzake na kuutekeleza ujumbe aliyopewa. Ndiyo maana yeye husema kwamba, “namsikia lakini simuoni – Sauti.”

Kitendawili hicho, hufundisha watu juu ya kuwa na tabia ya kuyasikilia na kuyaelewa maneno ya wenzao, ili waweze kuzilea vyema familia zao.

ENGLISH: I HAVE A RIDDLE – LET IT COME.

I HEAR IT BUT I DO NOT SEE IT – VOICE.

The overhead riddle looks at the sound that one hears without seeing. There was a person who heard a voice calling him without seeing the person calling him. Such man responded and did what the voice told him. That is why people told each other that, “I hear it but I do not see it – Voice.”

This paradox is compared to the person who listens well to people who give him a message and implements it in his life. Such person is sent to carry out duties by his colleagues whom he obeys them well because of his sincerity in life. He lives in peace with his colleagues because of his honesty in his life.

This person resembles the one who obeyed the voice that called him without seeing the person who called him, because he also listens well to the words which are said to him by his colleagues and carries out the message that is given to him. That is why he says, “I hear it but I do not see it – Voice.”

This riddle instills in people an idea of having habit of listening and understanding words of their nobles, so that they can courteously raise their families.

Akahayile kenako, kagalenganijiyagwa kuli namuge oha kaya uyo agabhalelaga chiza abhanhu bhakwe, umukikalile kakwe. Umunhu ng’wunuyo, agabhalelaga abhanhu bhakwe bho gubhalanga gutumama milimo yabho chiza kunguno alina bhutogwa bhutale ukubhoyi. Uweyi agikalaga chiza na bhanhu bhakwe kunguno ya lilange lwake ilya gubhakuja chiza abhanhu bhakwe bhenabho, umuwikaji bhokwe.

Umunhu ng’wunuyo, agikolaga na mayagamba ayo gakula mpaga guyikala kunuma ya lidale ilya ng’ombe ulu jilisiminza, kunguno nuweyi agabhatongelaga bho gubhalela chiza abhanhu bhake, umuwikaji bhokwe. Hunagwene abhanhu bhagang’wilaga giki, “gab’i manhubya agikalaga numa.”

KISWAHILI: YAMEKUWA MAFAHALI YA KUKAA NYUMA.

Msemo huo huongelea juu ya mafahali ya Ng’ombe. Mafahali hao ni madume ya ng’ombe yaliyokuwa mpaka yakazeeka vizuri. Yenyewe huwa nyuma ya kundi la ng’ombe wanapotembea kwa sababu ya uzee huo. Ndiyo maana watu husema kwamba, “yamekuwa mafahali ya kukaa nyuma.”

Msemo huo hulinganishwa kwa mzee wa mji ambaye huwalea vizuri watu wake katika maisha yake. Mtu huyo, huwalea watu wake hao kwa kuwafundisha kufanya kazi zao vizuri, kwa sababu ya upendo wake mkubwa alio nao kwao. Yeye huishi vizuri na watu wake kwa sababu ya malezi yake ya kuwakuza vizuri wake wake hao, katika maisha yake.

Mtu huyo hufanana na yale mafahali yaliyokua mpaka yakaanza kubaki nyuma wakati wa kutembea, kwa sababu naye huwaongoza kwa kuwalea vizuri watu wake, maishani mwake. Ndiyo maana watu humwambia kwamba, “yamekuwa mafahali ya kukaa nyuma.”

Msemo huo, hufundisha watu juu ya kuwaheshimu wazazi wao kwa kuwatunza vizuri, ili waweze kupata Baraka za kuishi vizuri na wenzao, maishani mwao.

ENGLISH: THEY HAVE BECOME BULLS OF STAYING BEHIND.

The overhead saying talks about the bulls of cattle. These bulls are male cattle that were well aged. They normally walk behind the herd of cows when they walk because of that old age. That is why people say that, “they have become bulls of staying behind.”

This saying is compared to the old man of the family who takes good care of his people in his life. Such man, brings up his people by teaching them to do their jobs well, because of his great love to them. He lives well with his people because of his good upbringing enough to raise his people well, in his life.

This man resembles those grown up bulls until they started to lag behind while walking, because he also leads his people by raising them well, in his life. That is why people tell him that, “they have become bulls of staying behind.”

This saying teaches people about respecting their parents by taking good care of them, so that they can get blessings of living well with their people, in their lives.

Iyoyi yapelaga yagibhisa uluyukangwa na ginhu josejose mpaga abhinikili bhayo bhuyidalaha nose kunguno yalidina solobho yoseyose ukubhoyi. Hunagwene abhanhu bhenabho bhagiitana giki, “jinuka nkila.”

Akahayile kenako kagalenganijiyagwa kuli munhu uyo adalahilwe na bhiye kunguno ya bhugokolo bho kuleka gutumama milimo aha kaya yakwe. Umunhu ng’wunuyo, agikikalaga wigashije duhu kunguno ya bhugokolo bhokwe ubho kulema gutumama nimo gosegose umuwikaji bhokwe. Uweyi agikalaga ukoya na nzala bhuli makanza aha kaya yakwe kunguno ya bhujidatumama milimo bhokwe bhunubho umukikalile kakwe.

Umunhu ung’wunuyo agikolaga ni Nva iyo yalidatumamaga nimo gose jose, kunguno nuweyi alingokolo ugutumama imilimo aha kaya yakwe. Hunagwene abhanhu bhagang’witanaga giki, “Jinuka Nkila.”

KISWAHILI: KICHAPA MKIA.

Msemo huo huongelea juu ya kiumbe ambacho huwa kinachezea mkia wake bila kufanya kazi. Alikuwepo mbwa mmoja aliyekuwa akichezea mkia wake bila hata kubweka anapoona kitu chochote, kwa sababu ya uoga wake. Mbwa huyo alidharauliwa na wamiliki wake akionekana kuwa hana faida yoyote kwao kwa sababu ya uoga wake huo wa kukimbia kujificha kila anashitulilwa na kitu fulani. Ndiyo maana watu hao walimuita kuwa ni “kichapa mkia.”

Msemo huo hulinganishwa kwa mtu yule ambaye ni mvivu wa kutokufanya kazi nyumbani kwake hali ambayo hupelekea kudharauliwa na wanafamilia wa hapo. Mtu huyo, hupendelea kukaa tu bila kufanya kazi kwa sababu ya uvivu wake huo wa kuogopa kufanya kazi yoyote katika maisha yake. Yeye husumbuliwa na tatizo la njaa kwa kwa sababu ya kukosa chakula hali ambayo husababishwa na tabia yake ya uvivu wa kutokufanya kazi, katika maisha yake.

Mtu huyo, hufanana na yule mbwa asiyefanya kazi yoyote, kwa sababu naye na uvivu wa kutokufanya kazi katika familia yake. Ndiyo maana watu humuita jila la “kichapa mkia.”

Msemo huo, hufundisha watu juu ya kuachana na tabia ya uvivu katika kazi, kwa kujibisha kuzitekeleza vizuri kazi zao, ili waweze kupata chakula cha kuwasaidia vizuri katika maisha yao.

ENGLISH:  A TAIL WHIPPER.

This saying refers to a creature that stays idly.  It only plays with its tail without working. There was a dog that was playing with its tail without even barking when it saw anything, because of its fear. Such dog was despised by his owners as it seemed to be of no use to them because of its distress that made it run away to hide whenever it was disturbed by something. That is why those people called it a “tail whipper.”

This saying is related to a person who is lazy as he spends his time by not work at home. Such situation leads him to being despised by his family members. Such man prefers to stay idle because of his laziness and fear of doing any work in his life. He suffers from hunger due to lack of food at his home, a situation that is caused by his lazy behavior of not working.

This man resembles to the dog that did not do any work, because he also has laziness of not working at his family. That is why people call him the “tail whipper.”

This saying, imparts in people an idea of abandoning a habit of laziness, by forcing themselves to carry out their works well, so that they can get food that can nicely help them in their lives.

Imbuki ya kahayile kenako, ilolile ubhusami bho mbula. Imbula yiniyo ulu lyushiga ilikanza lya goya gutula, amalunde gagandyaga guselema gayuja ng’weli.

Abhanhu ulubhugabhona amalunde genayo gagujaga ng’weli bhagamanaga iki imbula ilisama. Hunagwene bhagayombaga giki, “sama ya ngalu pa ijitumamilo umu munduka, uweyi usimiza bho magulu.”

Akahayile kenako kagalenganijiyagwa kuli munhu uyo agadililaga jikolo jakwe bho gugulekanija umili gokwe, umukikalile kakwe kenako. Umunhu ng’uwunuyo, agikalaga na jizwalo jishilile na  jiliwa jigehu aha kaya yake, aliyo isabho alinajo, kunguno ya gudilila jikolo kulebha umili gokwe, umuwikaji bhokwe bhunubho. Uweyi agikalaga ukoya na nzala aha kaya bho jigugila isabho jakwe jiniyo, kunguno ya bhujidalonja bho mili gokwe bhunubho.

Umunhu ung’winuyo agikolaga nu ntuji ojitumamilo muloli uweyi oja bho gusimiza, kunguno nuweyi agadililaga jikolo jakwe bho gugulekanijia umili gokwe gunuyo, umuwikaji bhokwe. Hunagwene abhanhu bhagang’wilaga giki, “sama ya ngalu pa ijitumamilo umu munduka, uweyi usimiza bho magulu.”

Akahayile kenako, kalanga bhanhu higulya ya gujitumamila isabho jabho bho guidilila chiza imimili yabho, kugiki bhadule guyilang’hana chiza, umukikalile kabho.

KISWAHILI: UHAMAMI WA MGALU KUJAZA VITENDEA KAZI VYAKE KWENYE GARI, YEYE KUTEMBEA KWA MIGUU.

Chanzo cha msemo huo, huangalia uhamaji wa mvua. Mvua hiyo ikifikia muda wake wa kuacha kunyesha, mawingu huanza kuelekea magharibi.

Watu wakiyaoana mawingu hayo yakielekea magharibi huelewa kwamba, mvua inahama. Ndiyo maana husema kwamba, “uhamaji wa mgalu kujaza vitendea kazi vyake kwenye gari, yeye kutembea kwa miguu.”

Msemo huo, hulinganishwa kwa mtu yule ambaye huwa haujali vizuri mwili wake, katika maisha yake. Mtu huyo, huvaa nguo zilizochakaa na hukosa chakula kwenye familia yake wakati mali anazo, kwa sababu ya kutokuujali vizuri mwili wake huo. Yeye husumbulia na tatizo la njaa kwenye familia yake hiyo kwa kutokuzitumia mali hizo kununua chakula, kwa sababu ya kutokuujali vizuri mwili wake huo, maishani mwake.

Mtu huyo, hufanana na yule muwekaji wa vitendea kazi vyake kwenye gari na yeye akitembea kwa miguu, maishani mwake, kwa sababu naye huvaa nguo zilizochakaa na kukosa chakula kwenye familia yake hiyo. Ndiyo maana watu humwambia kwamba, “uhamaji wa mgalu kujaza vitendea kazi vyake kwenye gari, yeye kutembea kwa miguu.”

Msemo huo, hufundisha watu juu ya kuzitumia mali zao kwa kuitunza vizuri miili yao, ili waweze kuilinda vizuri, maishani mwao.
