Kiswahili: Hadithi Ya Mvulana Na Msichana Waliotaka Kufunga Ndoa

Hapo kale, palikuwepo vijana wawili, mvulana na msichana. Mvulana aliitwa Fanuel, na msichana aliitwa Joyce. Vijana hao walikubaliana kufunga ndoa.

Akasema, “Naam, Mpenzi Joyce, umependeza kweli kweli, haifai sasa utembee kwa miguu, simama hapa hapa, nami niende mjini kukutafutia gari, halafu nitakuja kukuchukua.” Joyce akasema, “sawa mchumba wangu, mimi utanikuta hapa hapa tu sitaondoka kamwe.” Fanuel akaenda mjini kutafuta gari kama alivyosema.

Basi baada ya Fanuel kuondoka, Nyani alikuja alipo Joyce. Nyani huyo alipofikia kwa Joyce akasema, “lo, asi!! Binti umependeza kweli kweli.

Joyce akasema, “asi!! Safi kweli, Nyani anajirembua kwa madaha kweli kweli.”

Fanuel alipoipata gari alifurahi mno, akijua kuwa mchumba wake ataletwa kwa gari mara  Kumbe Nyani. Fanuel alimpa dreva sharti moja tu, alisema, “nenda sasa, pitia barabara hili tu utamkuta msichana mwenye mavazi meupe, ni huyo huyo tu, umchukue siyo mtu mwingine.” Dreva akawasha gari tayari kwenda kumchukua Joyce.

Dreva akafika vuu! Tayari kumchukua mwenye mavazi meupe. Nyani akaitwa kuingia ndani ya gari bila Joyce. Joyce kuona vile, akamwambia dreva,  “Ni mimi hapa siyo huyo.”  Dreva akasema, “Mimi nimeambiwa nimchukua mtu mwenye mavazi meupe tu na sio wewe.”

Joyce akaachwa pale pale analia ovyo. Arusi haikufungwa.

ENGLISH: THE STORY OF A BOY AND A GIRL WHO WANTED TO MARRY EACH OTHER

In the past, there were two young people, a boy and a girl. The boy was named Fanuel, and the girl was named Joyce. The two young people agreed to get married.

On their wedding day, they dressed very well. Fanuel wore a well-suited-suit. He also wore glasses, a wrist watch and a hat.

And Joyce wore her wedding dress. The wedding dress which she wore fit her so well that she looked extra beautiful. The gold and gold jewelry she wore made her look very attractive. In her hands, she held beautiful flowers.

After dressing themselves, they both went out, and started their journey to church where they could make the vows. While they were going to church, Fanuel got very impressed with the romantic gait of the would soon be his spouse. He said, “Yes, dear Joyce. You look great! It is not right for you to walk. You wait here and I will go to the city to find you a car, and then I’ll come and pick you.” Joyce said, “Ok, my dear. You will find me waiting here. I will never leave.” Fanuel went to the city to find the car as he promised.

After Fanuel had left, the Baboon came to Joyce.

The Baboon said, “Wow,!!You are really very well-dressed. But do you know how attractive you are? Joyce said, “I don’t really know it, because I don’t see myself.”

Then the Baboon said to Joyce, “If you want to see how attractive you are, give me all your clothes now so that you can see for yourself that you really look nice.” Joyce quickly took off all her clothes, and was left naked, and she gave the clothes to the Baboon.

The Baboon put on all of Joyce’s clothes. After the Baboon had worn the dresses, she told Joyce, “Have you seen now how attractive you look?” Joyce said, “It is true. The Baboon is telling the truth. I look great.”

When Fanuel got the car, he was very excited, knowing that his fiancé would soon be brought to church in the car. So, Fanuel gave the driver only one condition. He said, “Go now, just go this way and you will find a girl with white clothes. That is one you should pick. Pick only her and no one else.” The driver left with the car ready to pick Joyce.

Then Joyce saw the car well decorated with twigs and fresh flowers coming to pick her. Joyce started claiming her dresses from the Baboon.  “Give me my dress. I want to wear it.”Look, the car has arrived.” The Baboon didn’t care about the fact that he was wearing Joyce’s wedding dress.

When the driver arrived, the Baboon was called into the car as Joyce remained outside. Seeing that, Joyce said to the driver, “I am here, it is not her.” The driver said, “I have been told to pick someone with white clothes and not you.”

Joyce was left there crying madly. When Fanuel saw the Baboon wearing the wedding dress, and not Joyce  his fiancee´, he was very angry, stripped the wedding dress. The wedding could not materialize.
