961. LIB’ULEKWA NUMA.

Bhalihoyi bhanhu bhadatu abho bhajaga gujusola minyembe. Abhabhili bhatongela ugushiga aha ilinti linilo ilya minyembe, bhugayitona pye iminyembe. Ogiza uo kadatu usanga yashilaga iminyembe yiniyo. Hunagwene umunhu ng’winuyo, agayomba giki oigayiwa iminyembe yiniyo kunguno ya “lib’ulekwa numa.”

Akahayile kenako, kagalenganijiyagwa kuli munhu uyo alimpina, umukikalile kakwe. Umpina ng’winuyo agagayiyagwa ung’wambilija okwe kunguno ya kuzumalikilwa na bhabyaji bhakwe. Uweyi agakoyaga na makoye gakwe bhung’wene kunguno ya kuchilwa na bhatale bhakwe bhenabho, na ulekwa bho nduhu uogungunana ugugamala wangu amakoye gakwe genayo.

Umunhu ng’wunuyo, agikolaga nu ngayiwa o minyembe uyo agasanga yamalagwa na bhiye, kunguno nu weyi agagayiyagwa ung’wambilija okwe, umuwikaji bhokwe. Hunagwene agayombaga giki, adina ng’wambilija kunguno ya “lib’ulekwa numa.”

Akahayile kenako, kalanga bhanhu higulya ya gunzunya Mulungu na kuyibokela iyo agabhitilaga, kugiki bhadule gwiyambilija chiza, umumakoye ga guchilwa na bhatale bhabho, umuwikaji bhobho.

KISWAHILI: LI KUACHWA NYUMA.

Walikuwepo watu watatu waliokuwa wakienda kuchuma maembe. Wawili kati yao, walitangulia kufika kwenye mti wa maembe hayo, wakayachuma yale maembe yote. Alipofika yule wa tatu alikosa maembe kwa sababu wenzake waliyachuma yote. Ndiyo maana alisema kwamba, alikosa maembe hayo kwa sababu ya “li kuachwa nyuma.”

Msemo huo, hulinganishwa kwa mtu yule ambaye ni yatima, katika maisha yake. Mtu huyo, hukosa mtu wa kumsaidia katika kutatua matatizo yake kwa sababu ya kufariki kwa wazazi wake. Yeye huhangaika na matatizo yake peke yake, kwa sababu ya kuachwa na wakubwa wake hao, bila mtu wa kumsaidia katika kuyamaliza haraka matatizo yake hayo.

Mtu huyo, hufanana na yule mkosa maembe aliyekuta wenzake wameyamaliza, kwa sababu naye hukosa mtu wa kumsaidia katika kuyamaliza haraka matatizo yake, maishani mwake. Ndiyo maana husema kwamba, amekosa wa kumsaidia kutatua matatizo yake kwa sababu ya “kuachwa nyuma.”

Msemo huo, hufundisha watu juu ya kumwamini Mungu na kuyapokea mapenzi yake katika maisha yao, ili waweze kusaidiana vizuri, kwenye matatizo ya kuachwa na wakubwa wao, maishani mwao.

ENGLISH: THE BEING LEFT BEHIND.

There were three people who went to pick mangoes. Two of them reached the mango tree picked up all the mangoes and left before the third one had arrived. When the third one reached the tree he missed the mangoes because his colleagues had earned them all. That is why he said that he missed those mangoes because of “the being left behind.”

This saying is compared to the person who is an orphan. This person in turn needs someone to help him/her in solving various hitches because his/her parents passed away. He/she struggles with those difficulties alone, because of being left behind by those parents who could help him/her in working out those problems in life.

This person resembles the third man who missed the mangoes after his colleagues had finished all of them, because he also lacks someone who could help him/her enough to quickly solve his/her problems in life. That is why he/she says that he/she has no one to help him/her in solving problems because of “the being left behind.”

This saying imparts in people a clue on believing in God by accepting His will in their lives, so that they can help each other better in working out various problems including that of passing away of their loved ones.

Ikalagu yinino, ihoyelile kikalile ka Ngi. Ingi ilisumbwa iyo idina solwe kunguno idachagulile ijiliwe jayo. Iyoyi pye iji yusanga nulu jibhize jibhi iyoyi igubhona guti mboto duhu. Hunagwene abhanhu bhagayombaga giki, “iji ulijiponya akoyi mboto – kagi.”

Ikalagu yiniyo, ikalenganijiyagwa kuli munhu uyo adina solwe ukumukikalile kakwe. Umunhu ng’wunuyo, agikalaga pye bhuli kwene alihoyi umuyawiza na muyabhi, kunguno ya bhugayiwa bho solwe bhokwe bhunubho. Uweyi agayikenagulaga ikaya yakwe kunguno ya gwita yabhi yiniyo, umuwikaji bhokwe.

Umunhu ng’wunuyo, agikolaga ni ngi iyo igalyaga ni jibhi, kunguno nu weyi agitaga ni yabhubhi yiniyo, umuwikaji bhokwe. Hunagwene abhanhu bhagang’wilaga giki “iji ulijiponya akoyi mboto – kagi.”

Ikalagu yiniyo, yalanga bhanhu higulya ya guchagula kikalile ka gwita mihayo ya wiza, na guyileka iyabhubhi umukikalile kabho, kugiki bhadule gujilela chiza, ikaya jabho, umuwikaji bhobho.

UTAKACHOKITUPA KWAKE NI CHAKULA – INZI.

Kitendawili hicho huongelea juu ya maisha ya Inzi. Inzi ni kiumbe ambacho hakibagui chakula kwa sababu ya kula chochote kile, kiwe kibaya au kizuri. Mdudu huyo, hata kile kilicho kibaya kwake huwa chakula chake. Ndiyo maana watu husema kwamba, “utakachokitupa kwake ni chakula – Inzi.”

Kitendawili hicho, hulinganishwa kwa mtu yule ambaye habagui kitu katika maisha yake. Mtu huyo, huishi kwenye hali zote za kutemba wema na ubaya, kwa sababu ya kujichanganya kwake na ubaya. Yeye huiharibu familia yake kwa sababu ya kutenda uovu huo, maishani mwake.

Mtu huyo, hufanana na yule Inzi aliyekula hata uchafu, kwa sababu naye hutenda hata uovu, maishani mwake. Ndiyo maana watu humwambia kwamba, “utakachokitupa kwake ni chakula – Inzi.”

Kitendawili hicho, hufundisha watu juu ya kuchagua maisha ya kutenda wema na kuacha uovu, ili waweze kuzilea vizuri familia zao, maishani mwao.

ENGLISH: I HAVE A RIDDLE – LET IT COME.

WHATEVER YOU THROW AWAY IT IS FOOD FOR IT – A FLY.

The overhead riddle talks about the life of a fly. A fly is a creature that does not select on the basis of eating anything, whether clean or dirty. This insect, even what is dirty for it, becomes its food. That is why people say that, “Whatever you throw away it is food for it – a fly.”

This riddle is equated to the person who does not select good and evil in life. Such person lives in all conditions of good and evil, because of his association with evils. He destroys his family because of doing evils in societies.

This person resembles the fly that ate even dirty things, because he also does evils, in his life. That is why people say to him that, “Whatever you throw away it is food for it – a fly.”

This riddle instills in people an idea on how to choose a life of good deeds enough to renounce evils, so that they can morally raise their families, in their lives.

Ikalagu yiniyo, igalenganijiyagwa kuli munhu uyo agayidimilaga imihayo iyanhana bho nduhu ugutinginyiwa na oseose, umukikalile kakwe. Umunhu ng’wunuyo, agilangaga mihayo ya gung’winha kajile kawiza, na guyidimila chiza, kunguno ahayile ayibheje chiza ikaya yakwe. Uweyi, agapandikaga matwazo mingi umumilimo yakwe, kunguno ya kujidimila chiza inhungwa ija wiza jinijo, umuwikaji bhobho.

Umunhu ng’wunuyo, agikolaga nu wilembo ubho bhugadimilaga aha ginhu, kunguno nuweyi agajidimilaga inhungwa ija wiza bho nduhu ugutinginyiwa na oseose, umukikalile kakwe. Hunagwene agabhawilaga abhanhu giki, “ulu nugudima nadugulekela – wilembo.”

Ikalagu yiniyo, yalanga bhanhu higulya ya gwilanga nhungwa ja wiza na kujimila chiza, umubhutumami bho milimo yabho, kugiki bhadule kupandika matwajo mingi, umuwikaji bhobho.

NIKIKUKAMATA SIKUACHII – URIMBO.

Kitendawili hicho, huongelea juu ya mti uitwao Urimbo. Mti huo, ukigongwa hutoa maji kama yanayofanana maziwa, ambayo hutumika katika kuzibia vitu kwa sababu ya kushika vizuri pale yanapowekwa. Ndiyo maana watu husema kwamba, “nikikukamata sikuachii – Urimbo.”

Kitendawili hicho, hulinganishwa kwa mtu yule ambaye hujifunza tabia njema na kushikilia vizuri bila kutikiswa, katika maisha yake. Mtu huyo, hujifunza maneno yenye maadili mema na kuyaishi vizuri, kwa sababu anataka kuilea vizuri familia yake. Yeye hufanikiwa katika kuiletea maendeleo mengi familia yake, kwa sababu ya kuyaishi vizuri maadili hayo, maishani mwake.

Mtu huyo, hufanana na ule urimbo unaoshika vitu bila kuachia, kwa sababu naye huyashikilia vizuri maadili mema bila kuyaachia, katika maisha yake. Ndiyo maana huwaambia watu kwamba, “nikikukamata sikuachii – Urimbo.”

Kitendawili hicho, hufundisha watu juu ya kujifunza maadili mema na kuyaishi katika utekelezaji wa kazi zao, ili waweze kupata mafanikio mengi, maishani mwao.

ENGLISH: I HAVE A RIDDLE – LET IT COME.

WHEN I CATCH YOU I WILL NOT LET YOU GO– BIRDLIME.

This riddle talks about a tree which is called birdlime. When this tree is struck, produces black liquid that catches various objects which touch it. That is why people refer to it by saying that, “When I catch you I will not let you go– birdlime.”

This riddle is related to man who learns good manners enough to hold them fast without wavering, in his life. This man learns to speak and live well with others, because he wants to raise his family morally. He succeeds in making a lot of progress in his family, because of living within those values well, in life.

This man is like the Birdlime that holds things without which touch it letting them go, because he also holds on to good values ​​without letting them go, in his life. That is why he says about them that, “When I catch you I will not let you go– birdlime.”

This riddle imparts in people a clue on how to learn good values ​​enough to live a moral life in fulfilling their daily duties, so that they can achieve great successes, in their lives.

Umunhu ng’wunuyo, agamanaga uhalalika kulo gubhulema ubhunhana kunguno ya libhengwe lyakwe, na kugaiya guzunya ukumihayo ya bhiye. Uweyi agagayiyagwa uwasa bho gupandika ililange lya guyibheja chiza ikaya yakwe, kunguno ya libhengwe lyakwe linilo, umuwikaji bhokwe.

Umunhu ng’wunuyo, agikolaga nabho bhagabhulema ubhunhana bho mihayo ya ng’wanaminza, kunguno nabhoyi bhagabhulemaga ubhunhana ubho bhudulile gubhenhela matwajo mingi, umuwikaji bhobho. Unagwene abhanhu bhagabhawilaga giki, “ng’wagumanuhaya ng’wanaminza bhuli bhuli.”

KISWAHILI: KILA MARA MNASEMA NG’WANAMINZA NINI NINI.

Alikuwepo mtu mmoja aliyeitwa Ng’wanaminza. Mtu huyo, alikuwa msema ukweli katika maisha yake, kiasi kwamba kile alichowaambia watu, kilikuwa kweli. Lakini kulikuwepo na baadhi ya watu waliokuwa wakimsema pembeni kwamba ni muongo. Ndiyo maana yeye aliwaambia kwamba, “kila mara mnasema ng’wanaminza nini nini.”

Msemo huo, hulinganishwa kwa mtu yule asiyeukubali ukweli katika maisha yake. Mtu huyo, huwa anabisha kwa lengo la kuupinga ukweli kwa sababu ya dharau na kutokuwa na imani na wengazake. Yeye hukosa nafasi ya kufanikiwa katika maisha yake, kwa sababu ya kuukataa ukweli unaoweza kumpatia mafanikio mengi maishani mwake.

Mtu huyo, hufanana na wale watu waliokataa kuukubali ukweli aliousema Ng’wanaminza, kwa sababu naye hukataa kuupokea ukweli unaoweza kumletea maendeleo maishani mwake. Ndiyo maana watu huwaambia kwamba, “kila mara mnasema ng’wanaminza nini nini.”

Msemo huo, hufundisha watu juu ya kutokuwa wagumu wa kuyapokea maneno ya ukweli katika maisha yao, ili waweze kuyatumia katika kujiletea maendeleo mengi, maishani mwao.

ENGLISH: YOU ALWAYS SAY THIS AND THAT NG’WANAMINZA.

 There was a man who was called Ng’wanaminza. He was telling the truth in his life, so much so that what he told the people, was true. But there were some people who were speaking against about him, that he was a liar. That is why he told them that, “you always say this and that Ng’wanaminza.”

This saying is compared to the person who does not accept the truth in his life. This person tends to challenge the truth because of his/her contempt and distrust towards others. He/she misses a chance of succeeding in life, because of rejecting the truth that can give him/her so much success in life.

This person is like those people who refused to accept the truth that Ng’wanaminza said, because he/she also refuses to accept the truth that can bring him/her progress in life. That is why people tell him/her, “You always say this and that Ng’wanaminza.”

This saying teaches people on how to accept the words of truth in their lives, so that they can apply them in bringing about more progress to their societies.

Umunhu ng’wunuyo, adabhumagana uwiza bho gubyalwa nu mayu okwe ng’wunuyo, kunguno ya gwiganiga giki weng’hwa gupandika makoye duhu umusi munumu. Uweyi olalaga mumagulu ga ng’wa mayu okwe na gub’uchiwa kungungo, aliyo agalilaga duhu ulu omisha kunguno ya guduma ugubhudebha uwiza ubho agang’witilaga, umayu okwe ng’wunyo.

TUNA MAMA TUNAMLISHA LAKINI HASHIBI – ARDHI.

Kitendawili hicho, huangalia Ardhi. Ardhi hiyo, huwabeba watu wanapozaliwa duniani humu, na wanapofariki huwameza kwa njia ya kuzikwa. Wanaokufa na kuzikwa ni wengi lakini yenyewe haishibi. Ndiyo maana watu husema kwamba, “tuna mama tunamlisha lakini hashibi – Ardhi.”

Kitendawili hicho, hutumiwa kwa mtu yule ambaye hutemdewa wema na mama yake mzazi lakini hautaumbui wema huo, katika maisha yake. Mtu huyo, hautambui wema wa mama yake ambao ni pamoja na ule wa kumzaa na kumkuza, kwa kumlaumu kwamba, alimleta duniani kuteseka tu. Yeye alilala kwenye magoti ya mama na kubebwa mgongoni ng’wa mama yake, bila kusahau kumlaza aliposinzia, lakini yeye aliamuka na kulia, kwa sababu ya kushindwa kuutambua wema huo wa mama yake huyo mzazi, katika maisha yake.

Mtu huyo, hufanana na yule aliyeilaumu Ardhi akidai kwamba inameza watu wakati kuwazika, kwa kutokufahamu kuwa hilo ni tendo la upendo, kwa sababu naye hautambui wema wa mama yake mzazi aliyemzaa na kumkuza, katika maisha yake. Ndiyo maana humlaumu kwa kusema kwamba, “tuna mama tunamlisha lakini hashibi – Ardhi.”

Kitendawili hicho, hufundisha watu juu ya kuutambua wema waliotendewa na wazazi wao, ambao ni pamoja na ule wa kuwaleta duniani, na kuwatunza mpaga wakawa watu wazima, ili waweze kuwashukuru kwa kuwaheshimu na kuwatunza vizuri, maishani mwao.

ENGLISH: I HAVE A RIDDLE- LET IT COME.

I HAVE A MOTHER WHOM WE FEED BUT SHE IS NEVER SATISFIED – LAND.

This riddle looks at the Land. This land carries people when they are born on this earth, and when they die it swallows up them during their burial. The people who die and be buried are many but it does get satisfied. That is why people say that, “I have a mother whom we feed but she is never satisfied – land.”

This riddle is applied to the person who is treated kindly by his or her mother but he does not realize that kindness in his or her life. This person does not recognize the goodness of his mother which includes the birth and rearing of his/her. He/she lay on her mother’s knees and was carried on her mother’s back. This mother made this person sleep well who fails to recognize the goodness of his/her mother, in life.

This man is like the one who blamed the Earth by claiming that it swallows people when they are buried, not realizing that it is an act of love, because he also does not recognize the goodness of his biological mother, in his life. That is why he/she blames her by saying that, “I have a mother whom we feed but she is never satisfied – land.”

This riddle imparts in people a clue on how to recognize the good deeds which were done by their parents, which include bringing them into the world, and caring for them as adults, so that they can thank them by respecting and taking good care of them, in their lives.
