1172. KALAGU –  KIZE. UMYAJI ALI NA MAGULU ALIYO UMYALWA ADINA MAGULU – NGOKO NI GI.

Imbuki ya kalagu yiniyo, ililola kikalile ka ngoko na bhulanhani bho bhana bhayo. Ingoko yiniyo ligashigaga likanza yatela bho gunyela magi na gugalela bho gugabhandila mpaga gapya. Ulu gapya amagi genayo gagatandukaga kafuma kana umu bhuli ligi lyene, kunguno ya bhudiliji wiza ubho ngoko yiniyo. Hunagwene abhanhu bhagiganilaga giki, “umyaji ali na magulu aliyo umyalwa adina magulu – ngoko ni gi.”

Ikalagu yiniyo, igalenganijiyagwa kuli myaji uyo agabhalelaga chiza abhana bhakwe mpaga bhakula, umukikalile kakwe. Umunhu ng’wunuyo, agiyumilila ugubhalela abhana bhakwe bhenabho bho guhoya nabho bhuli lushigu, kunguno ya bhutogwa bhokwe ukubhana bhakwe bhenabho. Uweyi agabhakujaga mpaga bhadula gung’wambilija chiza aha kaya yake kunguno ya gubhalela chiza chiniko, umuwikaji bhokwe.

Umunhu ng’wunuyo, agikolaga ni nkola iyo iyanyelaga magi yagabhandila chiza mpaga gapya na gufuma kana umu bhuli ligi lyene, kunguno nuweyi agabhalelaga chiza abhana bhakwe mpaga bhadula gung’wambilija chiza aha kaya yake yiniyo, umiwikaji bhokwe. Hunagwene abhanhu bhagang’wilaga giki, “umyaji ali na magulu aliyo umyalwa adina magulu – ngoko ni gi.”

MZAZI ANA MIGUU LAKINI MZALIWA HANA MIGUU – KUKU NA YAI.

Chanzo cha kitendawili hicho, huangalia maisha ya kuku na utunzaji wa vifaranga vyake. Kuku huyo, hufika muda wa kutaga mayai na kuyalea kwa kuyakumbatia vizuri mpaga yanaiva. Mayai hayo yakiiva hupasuka na kutoa kifaranga kila moja kwa sababu ya utunzaji mzuri wa kuku huyo. Ndiyo maana watu husema kwamba, “mzazi ana miguu lakini mzaliwa hana miguu – kuku na yai.”

Kitendawili hicho, hulinganishwa kwa mzazi yule ambaye huwalea vizuri watoto wake mpaga wanakua, katika maisha yake. Mtu huyo, huvumilia katika kuwalea watoto wake hao kwa kuongea nao kila siku, kwa sababu ya upendo wake huo kwao. Yeye huwakuza vizuri watoto wake hao, mpaka wanaweza kumsaidia vizuri katika familia yake, kwa sababu ya kuwatunza kwa kuwapatia malezi mema, maishani mwake.

Mtu huyo, hufanana na yule kuku aliyetaga mayaji akayatunza vizuri mpaka yakaiva na kutoa mtoto kila moja, kwa sababu naye huwatunza watoto wake kwa kuwalea vizuri mpaka wanaweza kumsaidia vizuri katika familia yake hiyo, maishani mwake. Ndiyo maana watu humwambia kwamba, “mzazi ana miguu lakini mzaliwa hana miguu – kuku na yai.”

Kitendawili hicho, hufundisha wazazi juu ya kuwatunza watoto wao kwa kuwalea vizuri, ili waweze kuwasaidia vyema katika familia zao, maishani mwao.

ENGLISH: I HAVE A RIDDLE – LET IT COME.

THE PARENT HAS LEGS BUT THE CHILD HAS NO LEGS – THE CHICKEN AND THE EGG.

The foundation of this paradox, looks at the life of chickens and the care of their chicks. The hen spends time to lay eggs and nurture them by hugging them well until when they are ripe. When the eggs are ripe they crack and give out a chick each one because of the good care of her. That is why people say that, “the parent has legs but the child has no legs – the chicken and the egg.”

This paradox is compared to the parent who takes good care of his children as they grow up, in his life. Such person perseveres in raising his children by talking to them every day, because of his love for them. He raises his children well, until they can help him well in his family, because of taking care of them by providing them with good upbringing in life.

This person resembles the hen that laid eggs and took good care of them until they ripen and give birth to each one, because he also takes care of his children by raising them well until they can help him well in his family. That is why people say about him that, “the parent has legs but the child has no legs – the chicken and the egg.”

This riddle teaches parents on how to take care of their children by raising them well, so that they can help them better in their families in their societies.

Umunhu ng’wunuyo, agandyaga gulima ulu lyashiga ilikanza ilya jidiku, kunguno ahayile apandike matwajo mingi aha kaya yakwe. Uweyi agapanaga majiliwa mingi aha kaya yakwe yiniyo, kunguno ya gwigulambija gutumama milimo yakwe bho gujilanija ni kanza chiniko, umuwikaji bhokwe.

KISWAHILI: AMESHIKA MUDA.

Msemo huo, huangalia mtu aliyekuwa akienda kuchota maji kila siku. Mtu huyo, alikuwa akijilawa asubuhi na mapema kwenda mtoni kuchota maji kila siku kwa sababu ya kutaka kupata maji safi ambayo hajavurugwa na mifugo wakati huo. Yeye alijulikana sana kwenye kijiji chake kwa sababu ya kutoka kwake asabuhi na mapema kwenda kuchota maji. Ndiyo maana watu walimwambia kwamba, “ameshika muda.”

Msemo huo, hulinganishwa kwa mtu yule ambaye huendana na muda katika utekelezaji wa kazi zake, maishani mwake. Mtu huyo, huanza kulima kwa bidii sana wakati wa masika, kwa sababu anapenda kupata mafanikio mengi katika familia yake. Yeye hupata mazao mengi kwenye familia yake hiyo, kwa sababu ya kujibidisha kufanya kazi kwa kuendana na muda hivyo, maishani mwake.

Mtu huyo, hufanana na yule aliyejilawa kwenda kuchota maji akayapata yaliyosafi, kwa sababu naye hujibidisha kulima wakati wa masika kwa kuendana na muda mpaga anapata mali nyingi, katika kazi zake. Ndiyo maana watu humwambia kwamba, “ameshika muda.”

Msemo huo, hufundisha watu juu ya kujibidisha kufanya kazi zao kwa kuendana na muda kila siku, ili waweze kupata mali za kuwasaidia vizuri, katika familia zao.

ENGLISH: HE IS ON TIME.

This saying looks at the person who went to fetch water every day. Such man used to wake up early in the morning to go to the river for fetching water every day because he wanted to get clean water that was not disturbed by livestock at that time. He was well known in his village because of his going out early in the morning to fetch water. That is why people said about him that, “he is on time.”

This saying is compared to a person who goes with time in implementing his works, in his life. Such person starts farming very hard during the spring, because he likes to get a lot of success in his family. He gets a lot of harvests in his family, because of working according to the required time, in his life.

This person resembles the one who went to fetch water in the morning and found it clean, because he also cultivates during the spring in accordance with the time to the point of getting a lot of wealth, in his works. That is why people say about him that, “he is on time.”

This saying imparts in people an idea of having to do their works in accordance with the time every day, so that they can get enough assets to support them well, in their families.

Umunhu ng’wunuyo, agikolaga ni ndulu iyo igakumiyaga hadoo duhu yatanduka mpaga yayiluja pye inyama, kunguno nuweyi agakenyiyagwa hadoo duhu opelana mpaga olema uguyangulwa umukikalile kakwe. Hunagwene abhanhu bhagang’wilaga giki, “yapyaga indulu.”

KISWAHILI: NYONGO IMEIVA.

Methali hiyo, huongelea juu ya nyongo iliyoiva. Nyongo hiyo, hupatikana tumboni mwa mifugo ambayo hufanya nyama iwe chungu endapo itapasukia ndani wakati wa kumchuna huyo mnyama. Yenyewe huiharibu hivyo hiyo nyama yote, asipokuwa na uangalifu mchunaji wa mnyama huyo. Ndiyo maana watu husema kwamba, “nyongo imeiva.”

Methali hiyo, hulinganishwa kwa mtu yule ambaye hukasirika upesi mpaka kufikia hatua ya kukataa kuamriwa hata anapokesowa kwa jambo dogo tu, katika maisha yake. Mtu huyo, hukasirishwa haraka na hata kwa jambo dogo tu, na kukataa kuamriwa kwa sababu ya hasira yake hiyo. Yeye huwahangaisha watu wa kwenye familia yake hiyo, kwa sababu ya ukali wake huo wa kukataa kuamriwa na wenzake, maishani mwake.

Mtu huyo, hufanana na ile nyongo ambayo huguswa kidogo na kupasuka mpaka inaiharibu nyama yote, kwa sababu naye hukasirishwa hata na jambo dogo tu, na kukataa kuamriwa, katika maisha yake. Ndiyo maana watu humwambia kwamba, “nyongo imeiva.”

Methali hiyo, hufundisha watu juu ya kuacha hasira ya kukasirika upesi kwa sababu ya jambo dogo tu na kukataa kuamriwa, ili waweze kuzilea vizuri familia zao, maishani mwao.

ENGLISH: THE GALL IS RIPE.

This proverb speaks of a ripen gall. The gall is found in a stomach of livestock, which makes the meat bitter if it bursts inside while slaughtering the animal. It itself destroys all the meat, if the slaughterer of such animal is not so careful. That is why people say that, “the gall is ripe.”

This proverb is compared to the person who gets angry quickly to the point of refusing to be ordered even when he is wronged in a small thing, in his life. Such person, gets angry quickly and even in a small thing that he refuses to be ordered because of his anger. He worries the people in his family, because of his harshness in refusing to be ordered by his colleagues, in his life.

Methali hiyo, hufundisha watu juu ya kuwa na umakini mkubwa wa kuwawezesha kuyakamilisha vizuri majukumu yao, ili waweze kupata mafanikio mengi katika kazi zao, maishani mwao.

Viumbe hao hawamalizi safari kwa sababu huenda kuhemea chakula na kuleta nyumbani kwao kila mmoja kile alichokipata. Ndiyo maana watu huhadithiana kwamba, “familia ya kwetu haimalizi safari – siafu/mchwa.”

Kitendawili hicho, hulinganishwa kwa watu wale wambao hufanya kazi kwa bidii kubwa na kukipeleka nyumbani kwao kile walichokipata, katika maisha yao. Watu hao, huenda kujibidisha kufanya kazi zao kila siku na kupeleka nyumbani kwao kile walichokipata katika kazi zao, kwa sababu ya uaminifu wao huo. Wao hutajirika sana kwenye familia yao, kwa sababu ya kujibidisha kuyatekeleza majukumu yao vizuri kila siku na kukipeleka nyumbani kwao, kile walichokipata, katika kazi zao, maishani mwao.

Watu hao, hufanana na wale siafu na mchwa ambao hujibidisha kuhemea chakula na kukipeleka nyumbani kwao kile walichokipata, kwa sababu nao hujibidisha kufanya kazi zao kila siku, na kukipekeleka nyumbani kwao kile walichokipata, kwenye utekelezaji wa majukumu yao. Ndiyo maana wao husema kwamba, “familia ya kwetu haimalizi safari – siafu/mchwa.”

Kitendawili hicho, hufundisha watu juu ya kujibidisha kutekeleza vizuri majukumu yao, na kukipeleka nyumbani kwao, kile wakipatacho kwenye kazi zao hizo, ili waweze kupata mali nyingi za kutosha kutumia maishani mwao.
