Olihoyi ng’wa umo uyo olinginu gete. Ung’wana ng’wunuyo wikalaga ayegile bhuli makanza umukikalile kakwe kunguno ya mili gokwe ugowiza gunuyo. Hunagwene abhanhu bhagang’wila giki, “lyenili lilidung’hwa.”

Akahayile kenako, kagalenganijiyagwa kuli myaji uyo agabhalelaga chiza abhana bhakwe, umukikalile kakwe. Umunhu ng’wunuyo agabhalelaga bho gubhalanga gwikala bhitogilwe bhuli ng’wene kunguno ya bhutungilija bhokwe bhunubho. Uweyi agabhagunanaga bhanhu bhingi bho gwikala kihamo nabho aha kaya yakwe, kunguno ya bhutogwa bhutale ubho alinabho ukubhanhu bhakwe bhenabho, umuwikaji bhokwe.

KISWAHILI: HUYO ANA AFYA.

Alikuwepo mtoto mmoja ambaye alikuwa na afya njema. Mtoto huyo aliyekuwa mnene aliishi kwa furaha kila wakati kwa sababu ya afya yake hiyo njema. Ndiyo maana watu walimwambia kwamba, “huyo ana afya.”

Msemo huo, hulinganishwa kwa mtu yule ambaye huwalea vizuri watoto wake, katika maisha yake. Mtu huyo huwalea watoto wake hao kwa kuwafundisha kuishi kwa upendo na kila mmoja kwa sababu ya uaminifu wake huo. Yeye huwasaidia watu wengi sana kwa kuishi pamoja nao kwenye familia yake, kwa sababu ya upendo wake huo mkubwa alionao kwa watu wake hao, maishani mwake.

Mtu huyo hufanana na yule mtoto aliyekuwa na afya njema, kwa sababu naye ana upendo mkubwa ambao humsaidia kuwalea kwa furaha watu wake, katika maisha yake. Ndiyo maana watu wake hao humwambia kwamba, “huyo ana afya.”

Msemo huo huwafundisha wazazi juu ya kuwa na upendo mkubwa wa kuwalea vizuri watu wao, ili waweze kuishi kwa amani katika familia zao, maishani mwao.

ENGLISH: HE IS HEALTHY.

There was one child who was healthy. He was a fat one who lived happily because of his good health. That is why people said about him that, “he is healthy.”

This saying is related to a person who raises his children well in his life. Such person brings up his children by teaching them to live a life of love with others because of his loyalty. He helps many people by living with them in his family, because of the great love that he has for his people, in his society.

This person resembles the child who was healthy, because he also has a great love that helps him in raising his people happily in his life. That is why his people say about him that, “he is healthy.”

This saying teaches parents about having great love enough to raise their people well, so that they can live in peace with others in their families.

Umunhu ng’wunuyo agalimaga migunda mitale iyo agayilimililaga ngese mpaga oyimala kunguno ya bhudiliji bhokwe bhunubho umumilimo yakwe. KISWAHILI: NYIKI HAWA WANA ASALI.

Walikuwepo nyuki waliokuwa wameivisha asali sana mpaka ikaanza kudondoka chini kutoka kwenye masega yake. Watu walipoona hivyo walifurahi na kupanga muda ya kwenda kulina asali hiyo. Ndiyo maana walisema kwamba, “nyuki hawa wana asali.”

Msemo huo hulinganishwa kwa mtu yule ambaye huijali vizuri kazi yake mpaka anapata mafanikio mengi, katika maisha yake. Mtu huyo, hulima mashamba makubwa ambayo huyatunza kwa kuyapalilia palizi vizuri mpaka anavuna mazao kwa sababu ya kujali kwake vizuri kazi zake, katika utekelezaji wa majukumu yake. Yeye hupata mavuno mengi sana kwenye familia yake kwa sababu ya bidii yake hiyo ya kufanya kazi vizuri, maishani mwake.

Mtu huyo hufanana na wale nyuki walioivisha asali nyingi, kwa sababu naye huyajali kwa kuyatunza vizuri mashamba yake mpaka anapata mavuno mengi, katika utekelezaji wa majukumu yake hayo. Ndiyo maana watu humwambia kwamba, “nyuki hawa wana asali.”

Msemo huo, hufundisha watu juu ya kuzijali kwa kuzitekeleza vizuri kazi zao mpaka wapate mali nyingi, ili waweze kuziendeleza vizuri familia zao, maishani mwao.

ENGLISH: THESE BEES HAVE HONEY.

There were bees which had fed the honey so much that it began to fall down from its combs. When people saw that, they were happy and planned a time to go and harvest the honey. That is why they said that, “these bees have honey.”

This saying is compared to a person who takes good care of his work until he gets a lot of success in life. Such person cultivates large fields which he takes care of by weeding them well until he harvests enough crops to each because of his good concern for his work in fulfilling his duties. He gets a lot of harvest in his family because of his hard working life.

This person resembles to the bees that gathered a lot of honey, because he also cares for his life by taking good care of his fields until he gets a lot of harvest, in fulfilling his duties. That is why people tell him that, “these bees have honey.”

This saying imparts in people an idea of taking care of themselves by doing their jobs well until they get a lot of wealth, so that they can support their families well in their societies.

1136. ULUGOYE LUGATINIKILAGA AHO LOTELELAGA.

Ulusumo lunulo luhoyelile bhutiniki bho lugoye aho lutelelile. Lolihoyi lugoye ulo bhalututilaga bhanhu ginhu jabho. Aliyo lulu ulugoye lunulo lulilolegela mpaga lunenela gutunika kunguno ya gudutwa bho nguzu ningi. Aho bhaluduta bho nguzu chiniko lugatinikila haho lulitela gutinika. Hunagwene abhanhu bhanebho bhagayomba giki, “ulugoye lugatinikilaga aho lotelelaga.”

Ulusumo lunulo lugalenganijiyagwa kuli munhu uyo agatumamaga milimo yakwe bho nyakogolo, umukikalile kakwe. Umunhu ung’wunuyo agatumamaga milimo yakwe bho hadohado noyi kunguno ya bhukogolo bhakwe bhunubho. Uweyi agapandikaga makoye ga gugayiwa jiliwa aha kaya yakwe yiniyo kunguno ya bhugokolo bhokwe bhunubho, umuwikaji bhokwe.

Umunhu ng’wunuyo agikolaga nu lugoye ulo lugatinikila haho lolilotelela, kunguno nuweyi agatumama milimo nyakogolo mpaga ogayiwa ijiliwa aha kaya yakwe yiniyo. Hunagwene abhanhu bhagang’wilaga giki, “ulugoye luganikilaga haho lotelelaga.”

Ulusumo lunulo, lolanga bhanhu higullya ya guleka winogolelwa bho bhutumama milimo yabho bho gwigulambija gutuitmama chiza, kugiki bhadule gupandika matwajo mingi, umuwikaji bhobho.

KISWAHILI:  KAMBA HUKATIKIA PALE ILIPOLEGEA.

Methali hiyo huongelea juu ya ukatikaji wa kamba pale ilipokuwa imelegea. Walikuwepo watu waliokuwa wakiitumia kamba hiyo kuvutia vitu vyao. Lakini basi kamba hiyo, ilikuwa imelegea kiasi cha kukaribia kukatika kwa sababu ya kuvutwa sana na watu hao. Walipoivuta kwa nguvu hivyo kamba hiyo ilikanitikia pale ilipokuwa imelegea. Ndiyo maana watu walisema kwamba, “kamba hukatikia pale ilipolegea.”

Methali hiyo, hulinganishwa kwa mtu yule ambaye hufanya kazi zake kivivu, katika maisha yake. Mtu huyo hufanya kazi kizembe kwa pole pole kama amelazimishwa kwa sababu ya uvivu wake huo. Yeye hukumbwa na matatizo ya kukosa chakula katika familia yake kwa sababu ya uzembe wake huo katika kazi zake, maishani mwake.

Mtu huyo, hufanana na ile kamba iliyokatikia pale ilipokuwa imelegea, kwa sababu naye huzembea kufanya kazi zake mpaka anapata matatizo ya njaa kutokana na kukosa chakula kwenye familia yake hiyo. Ndiyo maana watu humwambia kwamba, “kamba hukatikia pale ilipolegea.”

Methali hiyo hufundisha watu juu ya kuachana na tabia ya uvivu katika kazi zao kwa kujibidisha kuyatekeleza vizuri majukumu yao hayo, ili waweze kupata mafanikio mengi maishani mwao.

 ENGLISH: THE ROPE IS BREAKS WHERE IT IS LOOSE.

The above proverb talks about getting cut of a rope where it was loose. There were people who were using the rope to tie their things. But then the rope was so loose that it almost was cut because of being pulled so hard by those people. When they pulled it so hard, the rope was cut where it was loose. That is why people said that, “the rope breaks where it is loose.”

This proverb is compared to a person who does his work lazily, in his life. Such person works carelessly as if he is forced to do so because of his laziness. He suffers from problems of lacking food in his family because of his negligence in doing his daily activities.

This person is like the rope that got cut where it was loose, because he also neglects to do his works until he gets problems of lacking food in his family. That is why people tell him that, “the rope breaks where it is loose.”

This proverb teaches people about abandoning habits of laziness in their works by forcing themselves to carry out their duties well, so that they can get a lot of success in their lives.

Akahayile kenako kahoyelile munhu uyo agigwa nuli ulab’ula. Umunhu ng’wunuyo agatulilwa nulu na ng’wiye aho asiminzaga umulenga lokwe na ulab’ula kunguno ya kuhaya kumana inguno ya bhutuji bho nulu gunuyo. Hunagwene abhanhu bhagang’wila giki, “swi, swi, swi una ulab’ula.”

Akahayile kenako kagalenganijiyagwa kuli munhu uyo agabhadililaga chiza abhiye umukikalile kakwe. Umunhu ng’wunuyo agikalaga ubhambilija abhanhu abho bhali na makoye bho guhoya nabho chiza kunguno ya bhutogwa bhokwe ubho gubhadilila abhiye bhunubho. Uweyi agikalaga uyega na bhanhu bhingi aha kaya yakwe kunguno alina nhungwa niza ija gwikala na bhanhu, umuwikaji bhokwe bhunubho.

Msemo huo huongelea juu ya mtu aliyesikia mluzi mdogo akageuka nyuma ili kuangalia. Mtu huyo alipigiwa mluzi na mtu aliyekuwa nyuma yake alipokuwa akitembea katika safari yake akageuka nyuma kwa sababu ya kutaka kufahamu sababu ya mluzi huo ili aweze kumsaidia zaidi. Ndiyo maana watu walimwambia kwamba, “mluzi mdogo mdogo unageuka.”

Msemo huo hulinganishwa kwa mtu yule ambaye huwajali wenzake katika maisha yake. Mtu huyo, huwa anawasaidia watu wale ambao wana matatizo kwa kuongea nao vizuri kwa sababu ya upendo wake  huo wa kuwajali wenzake. Yeye huishi kwa furaha na watu wengi katika familia yake kwa sababu ana tabia njema ya kuishi vizuri na watu, maishani mwake.

Mtu huyo hufanana na yule aliyegeuka nyuma kumwangalia mwenziye aliyempigia mluzi, kwa sababu naye huwajali kwa kuwasaidia watu wale ambao wana matatizo mbalimbali, katika maisha yake. Ndiyo maana watu humwambia kwamba, “mluzi mdogo mdogo unageuka.”

Msemo huo hufundisha watu juu ya kuwa na tabia ya kupenda kuwajali kwa kuwsaidia watu wale ambao wana matatizo mbalimbali katika vijiji vyao, ili waweze kuishi kwa furaha kubwa, maishani mwao.

ENGLISH: THE LITTLE WHISTLER YOU TURN BACK.

This saying speaks of a person who heard a whistle and turned back to look. There was man was whistled by the person behind him while he was walking on his journey. He turned back because he wanted to know the reason of such whistle so that he could help him. That is why people told him that, “a little whistle you turn back.”

This saying is paralleled to the person who cares about his companions in his life. Such person, always helps people who have problems by talking to them well because of his love to care for his colleagues. He lives happily with many people in his family because he has good habit of living well with people, in his life.

This person is similar to the one who turned back to look at his partner who whistled at him, because he also cares about helping people who have various problems in his life. That is why people tell him that, “a little whistle you turn back.”

This saying teaches people to have a caring attitude by helping people who have various problems in their villages, so that they can live happily in their lives.

Hunagwene bhagayombaga giki “agenayo gajisuji.”

Akahayile kenako kagalenganijiyagwa kubhanhu abho bhagalolaga jikolo ja ndugu obho uyo uzumalika kugiki bhadule gung’wizuka umukikalile kabho. Abhanhu bhanebho bhagabhizukaga abhadugu bhabho abho bhazumalika bho gubhalombela kuli Mulungu abhanukule ng’wigulu kunguno bhali na bhutogwa ukubhoyi. Abhoyi bhagabhalelaga abhanhu bhabho bho gwitogwa kunguno ya nhungwa jabho ijawiza jinijo, umuwikaji bhobho.

Abhanhu bhenabho bhagikolaga nabho bhajibhonaga ijikolo ja njimiji obho bhizuka umo bhanhilililaga, kunguno nabho bhagajisolaga ijikolo ja ndugu obho unjimi kugiki bhuyung’wizuka bho gunombela ukuli Mulungu ashige ung’wigulu. Hunagwene bhagajitanaga ijikolo jakwe giki, “agenabho gajisuji.”

KISWAHILI: HIVYO NI VYA MACHOZI.

Vitu vya machozi ni vitu vya mtu aliyefariki. Vitu hivyo ni pamoja na nguo, viatu, mali na vingine vinavyofanana na hivyo ambavyo viliachwa na marehemu. Watu wale aliowaacha huyo marehemu huviita hivyo kwa sababu wanapoviona huukumbuka wakati wa kilio chao alipofariki huyo ndugu yao.  Ndiyo maana husema juu ya vitu hivyo kwamba, “hivyo ni vya machozi.”

Msemo huo hulinganishwa kwa watu wale ambao huvichukua vitu vya ndugu yao aliyefariki ili waweze kumkumbuka katika maisha yao. Watu hao, huwakumbuka ndugu zao marehemu kwa kuwaombea kwa Mungu ili wapokelewe mbinguni kwa sababu ya maadili yao hayo mema, maishani mwao.

Watu hao hufanana na wale walioviona vitu vya marehemu wao na kukumbuka wakati wa kumlilia ndugu yao huyo alipofariki, kwa sababu nao huvichukua vitu vya marehemu ndugu zao kwa lengo la kuwakumbuka kwa kuwaombea kwa Mungu ili wafike mbinguni. Ndiyo maana hao huviita vitu hivyo kwamba “hivyo ni vya machozi.”

Msemo huo, hufundisha watu juu ya kuwakumbuka ndugu zao marehemu kwa kuwaombea kwa Mungu ili waweze kufika mbinguni.

ENGLISH: THOSE ARE OF TEARS.

Tears things are those which have been left by a deceased person. These items include clothes, shoes, property and other similar things that were left by the deceased one. The people whom the deceased left behind call them that way because when they see them, they remember the time whey they cried during death of their relative. That is why they refer to those things as, “those are of tears.”

This saying is equated to people who take belongings of their deceased relatives so that they can remember them in their lives. These people remember their deceased relatives by praying for them to God so that they can be received in heaven because of putting into practice their good values in their lives.

These people are similar to those who saw belongings of their deceased ones and remembered when they cried for them after death, because they also take belongings of their deceased relatives with the aim of remembering them by praying for them to God so that they can reach heaven. That is why they call those things as “those are of tears.”

This saying imparts in people an idea of remembering their deceased relatives by praying for them to God so that they can reach heaven.
