Akahayile kenako kalolile wituuji bhutongi bho jikub’a bho ng’wa munhu nhebhe. Olihoyi munhu uyo osiminzaga ukunhu ajituulaga aha bhutongi ijikub’a jakwe kunguno ya nguzu jakwe ijo alinajo.

KISWAHILI: HUJIWEKA KIFUA MBELE.

Msemo huo huangalia namna ya kukiweka kifua mbele cha mtu fulani. Alikuwepo mtu yule aliyekuwa akitendea huku amekitanguliza mbele kifua chake kwa sababu ya nguvu zake alizokuwa nazo.

Mwishowe mtu huyo, alisifika katika jiji chake kwa sababu ya namna yake hiyo ya kutembea huku amekiweka kifua chake mbele. Ndiyo maana watu walisema kwamba, “hujiweka kifua mbele.”

Msemo huo, hulinganishwa kwa mtu yule ambaye hufanya kazi peke yake bila kusaidiwa na wengine mpaga anaifikisha mwisho wake. Mtu huyo, huamka asubuhi na kwenda kujibidisha kufanya zake peke yake mpaga anazimaliza vizuri. Yeye hupata mavuno mengi sana katika kazi zake kwa sababu ya bidii yake hiyo ya kufanya kazi, maishani mwake.

Mtu huyo, hufanana na yule aliyekuwa akitembea huku amekiweka mbele kifua chake, kwa sababu naye hujibidisha kufanya kazi zake peke yake mpaga anazimaliza. Ndiyo maana watu humwambia kwamba, “hujiweka kifua mbele.”

Msemo huo, hufundisha watu juu ya kuwa na bidii ya kuyatekeleza vizuri majukumu yao mpaga wanayamaliza, ili waweze kupata mafanikio mengi maishani mwao.

ENGLISH: HE PUTS HIS CHEST FORWARD.

This saying looks at how to put the chest of someone in forward-facing. There was the man who was acting while putting his chest forward because of a strength he had.

He finally became famous in his city because of his way of walking with his chest being forward. That is why people said that, “he puts his chest forward.”

This saying is related to a person who works alone without getting help of others up to the point of finishing his works. Such person wakes up in the morning and goes to do his works alone, until he finishes them well. He gets a lot of yield in his works because of his hard working activities, in his life.

This person is similar to the one who was walking with his chest being in front of him, because he also has to do his works alone until he finishes them. That is why people tell him that, “he puts his chest forward.”

This saying teaches people on how to be diligent in carrying out their duties well until they finish them, so that they can achieve many successes in their lives.

Akahayile kenako kagalenganijiyagwa kuli munhu uyo agambilijiyagwa na Mulungu ugutumama imilimo yakwe, umukikalile kakwe. Umunhu ung’wunuyo alina guzunya gutale ukuli mulungu uyo agang’winhaga nguzu ja gwigulambija gutumama milimo yakwe chiza mpaga opandika matwajo mingi, umubhutumami bhokwe. Uweyi agapandika matwajo minghi umubhutumami bhokwe kunguno ya ubhutungilija bhokwe bhunubho ukuli Nsumbi okwe, umuwikaji bhokwe.

Umunhu ng’wunuyo, agikolaga ni nzuki iyo yaliyakula mpaga yubhalemela uguyapa abhapi bhayo, kunguno nuwei apandikaga matwajo mingi mpaga uduma ugugamala ugugatumila. Hunagwene agagitanaga giki, “nzuki ya bhulemela.”

KISWAHILI: NYUKI ALIYESHINDIKANA.

Msemo huo, huangalia Nyuzi wale walioshindikana kulinhwa. Nyuki hao, waliokuwepo mahali fulani ambao walikosa watu wa kwenda kuwalinha tokea pale walipojenga makazi yao kwa sababu ya kuwaogopa. Watu waliwaogopa kuwalinha kwa sababu ya ukubwa wao huo. Ndiyo maana waliwaita jina la “nyuki aliyeshindikana.”

Msemo huo, hulinganishwa kwa mtu yule anayefanya kazi zake kwa kumtegemea Mungu, katika maisha yake. Mtu huyo, ana imani kubwa kwa Mungu anayempatia nguvu za kujibidisha kufanya kazi vizuri mpaka anafanikiwa kupata mafanikio mengi katika kazi zake. Yeye hupata mafanikio mengi sana katika utekelezaji wa majukumu yake kwa sababu ya uaminifu wake huo kwa Muumba wake, maishani mwake.

Mtu huyo, hufanana na wale nyuki walioshindikana kulinhwa na watu, kwa sababu naye hujibidisha kufanya kazi zake mpaka anapata mafanikio ya kuwashinda watumiaji kuyamaliza. Ndiyo maana watu walimpatia jila la “nyuki aliyeshindikana.”

Msemo huo, hufundisha watu juu ya kujibidisha kufanya kazi zao vizuri kwa kumtegemea Mungu, ili waweze kupata mafanikio mengi katika utekelezaji wa majukumu yao.

ENGLISH: AN UNMANAGEABLE BEE.

This saying looks at the bees which protected their honey until people failed to harvest their honey-bunch. These bees were in a certain place where failed people to go and collect them from where they built their homes because they were afraid of them. People were afraid of them because of their big size. That is why they called them an “unmanageable bee.”

This saying is compared to the person who does his work by relying on God, in his life. Such person has great faith in God who gives him the strength to work hard until he succeeds in getting many successes in his work. He gets a lot of success in the execution of his duties because of his faithfulness to his Creator, in his life.

This person is similar to those bees which people failed to harvest their honey-bunch, because he also has to do his work until he succeeds in winning over the users to finish it. That is why people gave him a name of “unmanageable bee.”

This saying imparts in people an idea of working hard to do their jobs well by relying on God, so that they can get a lot of success in carrying out their responsibilities.

1119. ALADUYEJA HA MBUNHU.

Olihoyi ng’wana o ha kaya imo uyo oliguli gete. Abhana nzengo bhagayuhaya giki adina solobho ung’wana ng’wunuyo kunguno bhiganikaga giki adalabhuleka ubhugulu bhokwe bhunubho.

Aliyo lulu abhabyaji bhakwe bhagikomeja gunlela chiza kunguno bhalibhamanile igiki alabhuleka ubhugulu bhokwe bhunubho ulu ukula. Hunagwene bhagayomba giki, “aladuyeja ha mbunhu.”

Akahayile kenako kagalenganijiyagwa kuli munhu uyo agabhalelaga chiza abhana bhakwe bho nduhu ugugwa ng’holo, umukikalile kakwe. Umunhu ng’wunuyo, agahoyaga chiza na bhana bhakwe bhenabho bho gubhatongela nyalyehu kugiki bhadule guleka nhungwa jabhubhi bho gujikalana ija wiza. Uweyi agabhalelaga bhanhu bhingi a ha ng’wakwe mpaga bhabhiza na nhungwa ja wiza kunguno ya bhutungilija bhokwe bhunubho, umuwikaji bhokwe.

Umunhu ng’wunuyo, agikolaga na bhabyaji abho bhagannela chiza ung’wana obho uyo oligulu mpaga utengeka, kunguno nuweyi agabhalelaga chiza abhana bhakwe bho gwiyumija gubhatongela mpaga bhakula chiza, umukikalile kakwe. Hunagwene agabhawilaga abhanhu giki, “aladuyeja ha mbunhu.”

Akahayile kenako kalanga bhanhu higulya ya kubhalela chiza abhana bhabho bho wiyumilija bhutale, kugiki bhadule gukula bhali na nhungwa ja wiza, umuwikaji bhobho.

KISWAHILI: ATATUFURAHISHA SIKU ZIJAZO.

Alikuwepo mtoto wa familia moja aliyekuwa mtukutu kabisa. Wanakijiji walifikiri kwamba yule mtoto hatakuwa na faida hapa duniani kwa sababu ya tabia yake hiyo ya utukutu.

Lakini wazazi wake walijibidisha kumlea kwa bidii mtoto wao huo kwa sababu ya kuelewa kuwa atabadilika na kuwa mtoto mwema baada ya kuwa mzima. Ndiyo maana walisema kwamba, “atatufurahisha siku zijazo.”

Msemo huo, hulinganishwa kwa mtu yule ambaye huwalea vyema watoto wake, mpaka wanakuwa wakiwa na tabia njema, katika maisha yake. Mtu huyo, hufanya vikao vya kuongea vizuri na watoto wake hao, ili waweze kuachana na tabia mbaya kwa kuziishi zile zilizo njema, maishani mwao.

Mtu huyo, hufanana na wazazi wale waliovumilia kumlea mtoto wao aliyekuwa mtukutu mpaga akanyoka, kwa sababu naye huwalea watoto wake kwa uvumilivu mpaga wanakuwa katika maadili mema, maishani mwao. Ndiyo maana husema kwamba, “atatufurahisha siku zijazo.”

Msemo huo, hufundisha watu juu ya kuwalea kwa ushirikiano na uvumilifu watoto wao mpaga wakue katika maadili mema, ili waweze kuyaishi vyema maadili yao hao, maishani mwao.

ENGLISH: HE WILL MAKE US HAPPY IN THE FUTURE DAYS.

There was a child in a family who was quite naughty. The villagers thought that he would not be useful in this world because of his naughty behavior.

But his parents tried hard in raising their child because they understood that he would change and become a good one after growing up. That is why they said that, “he will make us happy in the future days.”

This saying is compared to a person who raises his children well, until they have good behavior in life. Such person, conducts sessions by speaking well with his children, so that they can abandon bad habits by living the good ones, in their lives. He manages to take care of his family enough to make family members good citizens in societies.

This person is similar to those parents who endured to raise their child who was naughty to the point of enabling him to become a good citizens, because he also raises his children with patience until they are in good morals, in their lives. That is why they say that, “he will make us happy in the future days.”

This saying imparts in people an idea of raising their children with cooperation and patience so that they can grow up in good values to the point of making them good citizens well, in their lives.

1118. NSHISHI NULU.

Akahayile kenako kahoyelile bhululu bho nshishi. Imishishi ili habhili, iyingi ili mipolo alii yingi igikalaga milulu. Abhanhu ulu bhuja gujuyotona bhushishi bhagabhonjaga tamu kugiki bhadule guyidebha imishishi iminonu na guyiyob’a lulu. Aliyo lulu ulu bhuyibhona giki ili milulu bhagalekaga ugubhutona ubhushishi bhunubho kunguno ya ubhululu bhogo bhunubho. Hunagwene bhagwitanaga unshishi gunuyo giki, “nshishi nulu.”

Akahayile kenako kagalenganijiyagwa kuli munhu uyo obhalemela abhiye kunguno ya nhinda jakwe umukikalile kakwe. Umunhu ng’wunuyo, agikalaga abhatab’anije abhiye umunhungwa jakwe kunguno ya nhani ya kashokeje kakwe ukubhiye. Uweyi agadumaga ugwikala chiza na bhanhu kunguno ya bhulambu na libhengwe lwakwe linilo ukubhiye, umuwikaji bhokwe.

Umunhu ng’wunuyo agikolaga nu nshishi unulu uyo gubhalemelile abhanhu ugubhung’wa ubhushishi bhogo, kunguno nuweyi abhalemelile abhiye umukikalile kakwe. Hunagwene abhanhu bhagang’witanaga giki, “nshishi nulu.”

Akahayile kenako kalanga bhanhu higulya ya guleka nhungwa ja bhulambu, na nhani umubhutumami bho milimo yabho, kugiki bhadule gwikala chiza na bhichabho umukaya jabho.

Warumi 13: 10.

Mathayo 5:43-45.

KISWAHILI: MCHAJU MCHUNGU.

Msemo huo, huongelea uchungu wa mkwaju. Mikwaji iko katika aina mbili, mingine ni mtamu lakini mingine ni michungu. Watu wakitaka kuchuma ukwaju huuonja kwanza ili waweze kufahamu kama ule mti ni mtamu kwa ajili ya kuyachuma matunda yake. Lakini watu hao wakionja na kuona kwamba ule mkwaju ni mchungu, huacha kuyachuma matunda ya mti huo.  Ndiyo maana watu hao huuita mti huo kuwa ni “mkwaju mchungu.”

Msemo huo hulinganishwa kwa mtu yule ambaye ameshindikana kwa wenzake kwa sababu ya kiburi chake katika maisha yake. Mtu huyo, hukataa kutungwa na wenzake kwa sababu ya kiburi chake hicho, katika utekelezaji wa kazi zake.  Yeye hushindwa kuishi na watu kwa sababu ya dharau zake hizo kwa wenzake, maishani mwake.

Mtu huyo, hufanana na ule mkwaju mchungu uliowashinda watu kuyatumia matunda yake, kwa sababu naye ana kiburi cha kukataa kutumwa na wenzake katika maisha yake. Ndiyo maana watu humuita kwamba ni “mkwaju mchungu.”

Msemo huo, hufundisha watu juu ya kuachana na kiburi na dharau katika utekelezaji wa majukumu yao, ili waweze kuishi vizuri na wenzao katika familia zao.

ENGLISH: BITTER TAMERAND.

The overhead saying speaks about a bitterness of tamerand tree. There are two types of tamerand tree namely, the sweet one and bitter one. If people want to pick the nectar, they taste it first so that they can know if it is sweet for picking its fruit or not. But when they taste and see that its fruits are bitter, they stop picking them. That is why these people call it a “bitter tamerand.”

This saying is equated to a person who has become an impossible to his colleagues because of his pride in his life. This person refuses to help his colleagues because of his pride, in the implementation of his tasks. He fails to live peacefully with people because of his contempt for his colleagues, in his life.

This person resembles the bitter  tamerand that people could not eat its fruits, because he also has pride that cause him to refuse to help his colleagues in his life. That is why people call him a “bitter tamerand.”

This saying imparts in people an idea of abandon pride and contempt in performing their duties, so that they can live well with their societal members in their families.

1117. ULU UBHONA MAB’ELE GAMBULI UGUHAYA GA NG’HOLO ULU UB’ONA GA NG’HOLO UGUHAYA GA MBULI.

Akahayile kenako kalolile mab’ele. Amab’ele ga ndimu yoseyose gagikalaga gikolile kunguno gali gape ayo munhu adadulile gugalenya ub’upe wogo. Kuyiniyo lulu, amab’ele ga mbuli na ga ng’holo gikolile kunguno pye agose gali gape nali ga ndimu. Hunagwene abhanhu bhagayombaga giki, “ulu ubhona mab’ele ga mbuli uguhaya ga ng’holo ulu ubhona ga ng’oholo uguhaya ga mbuli.”

Akahayile kenako, kagalenganijiyagwa kuli munhu uyo ali na ng’hoo ya wiza iyo ili ya pe, umukikalile kakwe. Umunhu ng’wunuyo, agabokelaga bhanhu bha mbika na mbika, abhawiza na bha b’ub’i kunguno ya wiza bho ng’holo yakwe bhunubho. Uweyi agabhalumanyaga chiza abhanhu abho bhiduma bho guhoya nabho chiza kunguno ya ng’holo yakwe ya wiza yiniyo, umuwikaji bhokwe.

Umunhu ng’wunuyo, agikalola na mab’ele agape genayo kunguno nuweyi ali ng’holo yape iyo igang’wambilija ugwikala chiza, na bhanhu bho guhaya nabho chiza. Hunagwene abhanhu bhaganyilaga giki, “ulu ubhona mab’ele ga mbuli uguhaya ga ng’holo ulu ubhona ga ng’oholo uguhaya ga mbuli.”

Akahayile kenako kalanga bhanhu higulya ya gubhiza na ng’holo ja wiza bho guhoya chiza na bhichabho uwikaji bhobho, kugiki bhadule gujilela chiza ikaya jabho, umubhulamu bhobho.

KISWAHILI: UKIONA MAZIWA YA MBUZI UTASEMA YA KONDOO, UKIONA YA KONDOO UTASEMA YA MBUZI.

Msemo huo huangalia maziwa. Maziwa ya mnyama yeyote huwa yamefanana kwa sababu yote ni meupe ambayo mtu hawezi kuutofautisha weupe wake. Kwa hiyo basi, maziwa ya mbuzi na yale ya kondoo hufanana kwa sababu yote ni meupe kwa vile ni ya wanyama. Ndiyo maana watu husema kwamba, “ukiona maziwa ya mbuzi utasema ya kondoo, ukiona ya kondoo y utasema ya mbuzi.”

Msemo huo hulinganishwa kwa mtu yule ambaye ni mwenye moyo mwema ambao ni mweupe katika maisha yake. Mtu huyo, huwapokea watu wa aina mbalimbali, wema na waovu kwa sababu ya wema wa moyo wake huo. Yeye huwaunganisha vizuri watu waliokosana kwa kuongea nao vizuri kwa sababu ya unyoofu wa moyo wake huo katika maisha yake.

Mtu huyo hufanana na maziwa meupe hayo kwa sababu naye ana moyo mwema unaomsaidia katika kuishi na watu vizuri. Ndiyo maana watu husema kwamba, “ukiona maziwa ya mbuzi utasema ya kondoo, ukiona ya kondoo utasema ya mbuzi.”

Msemo huo, hufundisha watu juu ya kuwa na moyo mwema wa kuongea vizuri na wenzao maishani mwao, ili wawezi kuzilea vyema familia zao.

ENGLISH: IF YOU SEE GOAT’S MILK YOU WILL SAY SHEEP’S MILK, IF YOU SEE SHEEP’S MILK YOU WILL SAY GOAT’S.

This saying refers to some milk of animals.  The Milk of any animal is the same because they are all white that one cannot distinguish their whiteness from that of one animal to another. Therefore, goat’s milk and sheep’s milk are similar because they are all white because they belong to animals. That is why people say that, “if you see goat’s milk you will say sheep’s milk, if you see sheep’s milk you will say goat’s.”

This saying is related to a person who has a good heart who is white in his life. Such person receives different kinds of people, good and bad ones because of the goodness of his heart. He unites people who are at odds by talking to them well because of the sincerity of his heart in his life.

This person looks like such white milk because he also has a good heart that helps him to live well with people. That is why people say that, “if you see goat’s milk you will say sheep’s milk, if you see sheep’s milk you will say goat’s.”

This saying teaches people on how to have a good heart to speak well with their nobles in their lives, so that they can raise their families well.
