Majikolo gajisuji gali majikolo ga ng’wa munhu uyo uzumalika ugaleka. Amajikolo genayo gali kihamo na jizwalo, jilatu, sabho na jingi ijo jikolile na jinijo ijo olinajo unjimiji. Abhanhu abho obhaleka bhagajitanaga giko jikolo jinijo kunguno ulubhajibhona bhagisuzukaga jililo jabho ija ha likanza ilo agazumalika umunhu obho ng’wunuyo. Hunagwene bhagayombaga giki “agenayo gajisuji.”

Akahayile kenako kagalenganijiyagwa kubhanhu abho bhagalolaga jikolo ja ndugu obho uyo uzumalika kugiki bhadule gung’wizuka umukikalile kabho. Abhanhu bhanebho bhagabhizukaga abhadugu bhabho abho bhazumalika bho gubhalombela kuli Mulungu abhanukule ng’wigulu kunguno bhali na bhutogwa ukubhoyi. Abhoyi bhagabhalelaga abhanhu bhabho bho gwitogwa kunguno ya nhungwa jabho ijawiza jinijo, umuwikaji bhobho.

Abhanhu bhenabho bhagikolaga nabho bhajibhonaga ijikolo ja njimiji obho bhizuka umo bhanhilililaga, kunguno nabho bhagajisolaga ijikolo ja ndugu obho unjimi kugiki bhuyung’wizuka bho gunombela ukuli Mulungu ashige ung’wigulu. Hunagwene bhagajitanaga ijikolo jakwe giki, “agenabho gajisuji.”

KISWAHILI: HIVYO NI VYA MACHOZI.

Vitu vya machozi ni vitu vya mtu aliyefariki. Vitu hivyo ni pamoja na nguo, viatu, mali na vingine vinavyofanana na hivyo ambavyo viliachwa na marehemu. Watu wale aliowaacha huyo marehemu huviita hivyo kwa sababu wanapoviona huukumbuka wakati wa kilio chao alipofariki huyo ndugu yao.  Ndiyo maana husema juu ya vitu hivyo kwamba, “hivyo ni vya machozi.”

Msemo huo hulinganishwa kwa watu wale ambao huvichukua vitu vya ndugu yao aliyefariki ili waweze kumkumbuka katika maisha yao. Watu hao, huwakumbuka ndugu zao marehemu kwa kuwaombea kwa Mungu ili wapokelewe mbinguni kwa sababu ya maadili yao hayo mema, maishani mwao.

Watu hao hufanana na wale walioviona vitu vya marehemu wao na kukumbuka wakati wa kumlilia ndugu yao huyo alipofariki, kwa sababu nao huvichukua vitu vya marehemu ndugu zao kwa lengo la kuwakumbuka kwa kuwaombea kwa Mungu ili wafike mbinguni. Ndiyo maana hao huviita vitu hivyo kwamba “hivyo ni vya machozi.”

Msemo huo, hufundisha watu juu ya kuwakumbuka ndugu zao marehemu kwa kuwaombea kwa Mungu ili waweze kufika mbinguni.

ENGLISH: THOSE ARE OF TEARS.

Tears things are those which have been left by a deceased person. These items include clothes, shoes, property and other similar things that were left by the deceased one. The people whom the deceased left behind call them that way because when they see them, they remember the time whey they cried during death of their relative. That is why they refer to those things as, “those are of tears.”

This saying is equated to people who take belongings of their deceased relatives so that they can remember them in their lives. These people remember their deceased relatives by praying for them to God so that they can be received in heaven because of putting into practice their good values in their lives.

These people are similar to those who saw belongings of their deceased ones and remembered when they cried for them after death, because they also take belongings of their deceased relatives with the aim of remembering them by praying for them to God so that they can reach heaven. That is why they call those things as “those are of tears.”

This saying imparts in people an idea of remembering their deceased relatives by praying for them to God so that they can reach heaven.

1133. ABHENABHO BHAHEHI.

Akahayile kenako kahoyelile higulya ya bhanhu abho bhahehaga mandege. Abhanhu bhenabho bhinjaga mapumba na mapalala umumandege gabho genayo bho gugaheha kunguno gali na mapalala mingi noyi. Hunagwene abhanhu bhagabhitana giki “abhenabho bhahehi.”

Akahayile kenako kagalenganijiyagwa kuli munhu uyo agajidililaga chiza ijiliwa ijo aginhiyagwa nu Mulungu, umubhutumami bhokwe. Umunhu ng’wunuyo agajikumingaga pye ijiliwa jakwe jinijo na gujingija amapalala mpaga jela chiza kunguno ya witegeleja bhokwe bhunubho. Uweyi agikalaga na majiliwa mingi aha kaya yakwe kunguno ya gujilanhana chiza ijiliwa ijo aginhiyagwa nu Mulungu, umubhutumami bhokwe.

Umunhu ng’winuyo agikolaga na bhahehi bha mandege kunguno nuweyi agijingijaga amapalala ijiliwa jakwe na ojituula chiza lulu. Uweyi agabhalanjaga abhanhu bhakwe nzile ja gujingija amapalala ijiliwa jabho. Hugwenene bhagabhitanaga giki, “abhenabho bhahehi.”

Akahayile kenako kalanga bhanhu bhigulya ya gujidilila chiza ijiliwa jabho bho gujingija amapalala pye agose, kugiki bhadule kujituula chiza umukaya jabho.

KISWAHILI: HAO WAPEPETAJI.

Msemo huo, huongelea juu ya watu waliokuwa wakipepeta mahindi. Watu hao walikuwa wakiya ondoa makapi yote kutoka kwenye chakula chao hicho kwa kuyapepeta hayo mahindi mpaka takataka zote zinaisha ndani yake kwa sababu yalikuwa na uchafu mwingi sana. Ndio maana watu waliwaambia kwamba, “hao wapepetaji.”

Msemo huo, hulinganishwa kwa watu wale ambao hukijali vizuri chakula wanachopewa na Mungu. Watu wao hukiondolea takataka zote zilizomo kwenye nafaka zao mpaga chakula hicho kinakuwa kizuri kwa sababu ya umakini wao huo katika maisha yao. Wao hupata chakula kingi sana katika famlia kwa sababu ya kukitunza vizuri, katika utumishi wao.  

Watu hao hufanana na wale waliopepeta mahindi yao mpaka takakaka zote zikaisha kwa sababu naye huziondoa takataka zote kwenye mahindi yao hayo. Ndiyo maana watu huwaambia kwamba, “Ndiyo maana watu huwaaita kwamba, “hao wapepeji.”

Msemo huo hufundisha watu juu ya kukijali vizuri chakula wanachopata kwa kukiondolea takataka zote, ili waweze kukitunza vizuri, kwenye familia zao.

ENGLISH: THOSE ARE WINDERS.

This saying talks about people who were sifting corns. Those people used to remove all the chaffs from their food by sifting the corns until all trashes end up in it because they were were very dirty. That is why people told them that, “those are winders.”

This saying is compared to people who take good care of the food given to them by God. These people remove all the garbage from their grains and the food becomes good because of their attention in their lives. They get a lot of food in their family because of taking good care of it, in their service.

These people are like those who sifted their corns until all the garbage were gone, because they also remove all the garbage from their food. That is why people call them that, “those are winders.”

This saying instills in people an idea of taking good care of the food which they get by removing all garbage from it, so that they can take good care of it, in their families.

1130. NENE NASHOLWA MBITI NAJILE.

Ulusumo lunulo lwandija kuli munhu uyo agajilecha mbiti ntugo uyo jalijagudima. Imbiti jinijo jigikalaga ng’wipolu ahikanza ilya limi ibhujiku jigajaga munzengo gujicholela jiliwa. Ijoyi jigadima ntugo huna wiza munhu uyo oliajile mulugendo lokwe ujilecha na jandwa kuyunshola ukunu uweyi ajile duhu bho nduhu ugujidilila. Hunagwene umunhu ng’wunuyo agayomba giki, “nene nsholwa mbiti najile.”

Ulusumo lununo, lugalenganijiyagwa kuli munhu uyo agandyaga gugutumama nimo bho gudalahijiwe nabhiye umubhutumami bhokwe. Uweyi apandikala matwajo mingi mpaka bhoya gundalahija abhanhu bhenabho, kunguno ya wiyumilija bhokwe bhunubho, umubhutumami bhokwe bhunubho.

Umunhu ng’wunuyo, agikolaga nuyo agasholwa na mbiti ukunu ajile bho nduhu ugujidililila, kunguno nuweyi agikomejaga gutumama milimo yakwe bho nduhu ugubhadilila abho bhalindalahija umubhutumami bhokwe bhunubho. Hunagwene uweyi agayombaga giki, “nene nasholwa mbiti najile.”

KISWAHILI: MIMI NIMEFYONZWA FISI NIKIWA NAENDA.

Methali hiyo ilianzia kwa mtu yule aliwaachisha fisi mfugo waliokuwa wameukamata. Fisi hao huishi polini wakati wa mchana lakini usiku huingia kwenye makazi ya watu ili kujitafutia chakula.

Fisi hao walimkamata mfugo kwa bahati akaja akapita pale mtu aliyekuwa katika safari zake akawanyanhanya mfuyo huo ndipo wakaanza kumfronza yeye akiwa anaenda bila kuwajali. Ndiyo maana yeye alisema kwamba, “mimi nimefyonzwa fisi nikiwa naenda.”

Methali hiyo hulinganishwa kwa mtu yule ambaye hudharauliwa na baadhi ya watu anapoanza kufanya kazi mpya katika utumishi wake. Mtu huyo, hujibidisha kufanya kazi kwa nguvu bila kuwajali wale wanaomdharau kwa sababu anazifahamu faida za kazi hiyo maishani mwake. Yeye hupata mafakinikio mengi mpaga wanaacha kumdharau wale waliokuwa wakifanya hivyo mwanzoni kwa sababu ya uvumilivu wake huo, katika utekelezaji wa majukumu yake hayo.

Mtu huyo hufanana na yule aliyefyonzwa na fisi bila kuwajali, kwa sababu naye hujibidisha kuyatekeleza majukumu yake bila kuwajali wale wanaomdharau, katika utumishi wake. Ndiyo maana yeye huwaambia watu kwamba, “mimi nimefyonzwa fisi nikiwa naenda.”

Methali hiyo hufundisha watu juu ya kuvumilia kufanya kazi zao bila kuwajali wale wanaowadharau katika utekelezaji wa majukumu yao hayo, ili waweze kupata mafanikio mengi maishani mwao.

ENGLISH: I HAVE BEEN ABSORBED BY HYENAS WHILE I GO.

The above proverb was originated from man who chased hyenas from taking his livestock which they had caught. The hyenas live in the field during the day but at night they enter human settlements to find food.

The hyenas caught the herd by chance and he came and passed by a man who was on his travels and snatched the livestock from them and they started to chase him while he was going without paying attention to them. That is why he said that, “I have been absorbed by hyenas while I go.”

This proverb is compared to that person who is despised by some people when he starts a new job in his service. That person, tries to work hard without caring about those who look down on him because he knows the benefits of that work in his life. He achieves a lot of success and they stop looking down on those who were doing it in the beginning because of his patience, in the implementation of his duties.

This person is similar to the one who was absorbed by hyenas without caring for them, because he also has to carry out his duties without caring for those who despise him, in his service. That is why he tells people that, “I have been absorbed by hyenas while I go.”

This proverb teaches people to persevere in doing their works without caring about those who despise them in the execution of their duties, so that they can achieve many successes in their lives.

Olihoyi munhu uyo oli ngagaja ogwita mihayo midamu umuwikaji bhokwe kunguno ya bhuguzu bhokwe. Umunhu ng’wunuyo agagema uguishema imbogo yiniyo mpaga yumfuganja gumulaga kunguno ya bhugagaja bhokwe bhunubho. Hunagwene abhanhu bhagankumwa bho bhogung’wila giki “munhu ntale alishema mbogo!”

Akahayile kenako kagalenganijiyagwa kuli munhu uyo agatumamaga milimo iyo yinkilile ubhudula bhokwe, umukikalile kakwe. Umunhu ng’wunuyo adiganikaga chiza haho atali ugwandya uguitumama imilimo yakwe yiniyo kunguno ya gwigimba bho bhuguzu bhokwe bhunubho. Uweyi agadumaga uguimala chiza imilimo yakwe kunguno ya guyandya guitumama bho nduhu ugwiganika chiza gokwe gunuyo.

Umunhu ng’wunuyo agikolaga nuyo agagema guishema mbogo uiduma, kunguno nuweyi agadumaga uguyimala chiza imilimo yakwe iyo agayandyaga guitumama bho nduhu ugwiganika chiza chiniko, umubhutumami bhokwe bhunubho. Hunagwene abhanhu bhagankumwaga bho gung’wila giki, “munhu ntale alishema mbogo!”

Msemo huo huongelea ukamuaji wa nyati wa mtu fulani. Nyati ni myama mkubwa anayeishi porini tena ni mkali sana. Alikuwepo mtu aliyekuwa akijaribu kufanya mambo makubwa maishani mwake, kwa sababu ya nguvu zake. Mtu huyo alijaribu kumkamua huyo Nyati ambaye alimkurupusha mwanadamu huyo mpaga karibu ya kumuua kwa sababu ya uthubutu wake huo wa kujaribu hata kile kinachozidi uwezo wake. Ndiyo maana watu walimshangaa kwa kumwambia kwamba, “mtu mkubwa anamkamua nyati!”

Msemo huo hulinganishwa kwa mtu yule ambaye huanza kufanya kazi ambazo hana uwezo nayo, katika maisha yake. Mtu huyo, huanza kufanya kazi zake bila kufikiria vizuri kwanza kabla hajaanza kuzitekeleza kwa sababu ya kujidai kwake kuwa na nguvu. Yeye hushindwa kuzimaliza kazi zake kwa sababu ya kuanza kuzitekeleza kwake huko bila kufikiria vizuri kwanza, maishani mwake.

Mtu huyo hufanana na yule aliyejaribu kumkamua nyati akashindwa, kwa sababu naye hushindwa kuzimaliza kazi anazozianzisha bila kufikiri kwanza vizuri, katika utekelezaji wa majukumu yake hayo. Ndiyo maana watu humshangaa kwa kumwambia kwamba, “mtu mkubwa anamkamua nyati!”

Msemo huo hufundisha watu juu ya kutekeleza kazi wanazoziweza kwa kufikiria vizuri kwanza kabla hawajanza kuzifanya, ili waweze kupata mafanikio mengi, maishani mwao.

ENGLISH: A BIG MAN IS MILKING A BUFFALO!

This saying refers a someone how was milking a buffalo. The buffalo is a large animal that lives in the wild and is very fierce. There was a man who was trying to do great things in his life, because of his strength. He tried to milk the Buffalo which attached him near to death because of his determination of trying even what was beyond his ability. That is why people surprised him by telling him that, “a big man is milking a buffalo!”

This saying is compared to a person who starts doing tasks that he is not capable of, in his life. Such person, begins to do his work without thinking well first before he begins to implement it because of his self-assertion to be strong. He fails to complete his tasks because of doing them without researching or thinking well first, in his life.

This person is similar to the one who tried to milk a buffalo and failed, because he also fails to finish the tasks which he starts without thinking first in his duties. That is why people surprise him by telling him that, “a big man milks a buffalo!”

This saying installs in people an idea of performing tasks that they are capable of by thinking well first before doing them, so that they can get a lot of successes, in their lives.

Aho bhamhona uninabho bhuhugana mpaga bhandya guyiyunga sagala kunguno ya jito jabho jinijo. Hunagwene abhanhu bhagayomba giki, “abhenabho b’azumilwa mbesele.”

Akahahile kenako kagalenganijiyagwa kubhanhu abho b’agakilanijiaga malagilo ayo b’aginagwa na bhabyaji bhabho umukikalile kabho. Abhanhu bhenabho, b’agikalaga na nhinda ja gubhadalahija abhatale bhabho ulu bhabha wila mhayo kunguno ya nhinda jabho jinijo. Abhoyi b’agapandikaga makoye mingi umuwikaji bhobho kunguno ya bhujidigwa bhobho bhunubho, umuwikaji bhobho.

Abhanhu bhenabho, b’agikolaga nabho bhagingila muchumba ja ng’wa ninabho ijo bhalibhalemejiwa ugwingila, kunguno nabhoyi b’agakilanijaga amalagilo ayo b’agawilagwa na bhatale bhabho. Hunagwene abhanhu bhagabhawilaga giki “abhenabho b’azumilwa mbesele.”

Akahayile kenako kalanga bhanhu higulya ya gudimila chiza amalagilo ga bhabyaji bhabho umubhutumami bho milimo yabho, kugiki bhadule gwikala mhola, umuwikaji bhobho.

Wao walipomuona walichanganyikiwa mpaka wakaanza kudhurura hovyo kwa sababu ya kitendo chao hicho walichokifanya. Ndiyo maana watu waliwaambia kwamba, “hao wamelaniwa kabisa.”

Msemo huo hulinganishwa kwa watu wale ambao hawayajali maagizo ya wazazi wao, katika maisha yao. Watu hao huwa na kiburi ya kuwadharau wakubwa wao wanapowaambia neno fulani kwa sababu ya kiburi chao hicho. Wao hupata matatizo mengi katika familia zao kwa sababu ya kuyavunja maagizo yale wanayopewa na wazazi wao, maishani mwao.

Watu hao hufanana na wale walioingia kwenye chumba cha mama yao ambacho walikatazwa kuingia, kwa sababu nao huyavunja maagizo yale wanayoambiwa na wakubwa wao. Ndiyo maana watu huwaambia kwamba, “hao wamelaniwa kabisa.”

Msemo huo, hufundisha watu juu ya kuyaishi vizuri maagizo ya wazazi wao kwa kuwatunza vizuri katika utekelezaji wa majukumu yao, ili waweze kuishi salama, maishani mwao.

ENGLISH: THEY ARE COMPLETELY CURSED.

There were men who entered their mother’s room in which they were prohibited. After entering, they found their mother naked because she did not know that they would enter in. When they saw her, they were confused until they started harming her because of what they did. That is why people told them that, “they are completely cursed.”

This saying is compared to people who do not care about instructions of their parents, in their lives. Those people are proud by despising their superiors who warn them because of their pride. They consequently get many problems in their families because of breaking instructions which given to them by their parents, in their lives.

These people are like those who entered their mother’s room which they were forbidden to be in, because they also break the instructions given to them by their superiors. That is why people tell them that, “they are completely cursed.”

This saying teaches people on how to put into practice instructions of their parents by taking good care of them in fulfilling their responsibilities, so that they can live safely, in their lives.
