MSHALE WANGU UKITOKA HAURUDI – JINO.

Kitendawili hicho, huongelea juu ya jino. Jino la mtu mzima liking’oka huwa halirudi, kwa sababu huwa linang’oka na mizizi yake. Lenyewe liking’oka ndiyo kusema, mwenye jino hilo amekosa. Ndiyo maana husema kwamba, “mshale wangu ukitoka haurudi – jino.”

Kitendawili hicho, hulinganishwa kwa mtu yule ambaye huutumia vizuri muda wake, katika maisha yake. Mtu huyo, hujilawa asubuhi kwenda kwenye kazi zake, na kuzitekeleza kwa bidii kubwa, kwa sababu ya uelewa wa faida ya muda wake huo, katika kujiletea maendeleo. Yeye hufanikiwa kupata mafanikio mengi zaidi katika kazi zake, kwa sababu ya bidii yake hiyo ya kuutumia vizuri muda wake huo, maishani mwake.

Mtu huyo, hufanana na yule alisiyeweza kulirudisha jino lakwe lililo ng’oka, kwa sababu naye hawezi kuurudisha nyuma muda wake anaoutumia kwa kujiletea maendeleo, katika maisha yake. Ndiyo maana husema kwamba, “mshale wangu ukitoka haurudi – jino.”

Kitendawili hicho, hufundisha watu juu ya kuutumia vizuri muda wao kwa kujibidisha kuyatekeleza vizuri majukumu yao, ili waweze kupata mafanikio mengi zaidi, maishani mwao.

ENGLISH: I HAVE A RIDDLE- LET IT COME.

MY ARROW WHEN GOES OUT IT NEVER COMES BACK – A TOOTH.

This riddle talks about an uprooted tooth. When an adult’s tooth is taken out, it does not return, because it is always rooted. The very thing that can be said is that the owner of the tooth has missed it. That is why the owner says that, “If my arrow goes out it does not come back – tooth.”

This riddle is related to the person who spends nicely most of his time in life. Such person, in the morning, goes to work, and performs it with great diligence, because of being aware of the benefits of his time, in bringing about development. He succeeds in achieving greater success in his endeavors, because of his diligence in using well his time in life.

This person is like the one who was unable to bring back his uprooted tooth, because he also cannot regain the time he spends for development, in his life. That is why he says that, “If my arrow goes out it does not come back – tooth.”

This riddle imparts in people an idea on how to use their time well by striving to fulfill their responsibilities, so that they can have more success in their lives.

Ugoyi guli na solobho nhale ukubhanhu kunguno amadutu gago gali makub’i, imiti yili ng’hwi, imizwi yago yili jiliwa. Hunagwene abhanhu bhagayombaga giki, “higulya ikub’i, aha gati lukwi, aha hasi jiliwa – nh’ogo.”

Umunhu ng’wunuyo, agabhambiljaga chiza abho bhali na makoye bho gutumila sabho jakwe, kunguno ya welwa nholo bhokwe bhunubho. Uweyi agayegaga na bhanhu bhingi abho agabhambilijaga kunguno ya bhutogwa na wiza nholo bhokwe bhunubho ukubhoyi, umuwikaji bhobho.

JUU MBOGA, KATIKATI KUNI, CHINI CHAKULA – MUHOGO.

Kitendawili hicho, chaangalia muhogo. Muhogo ni mti unaotumiwa na watu kuangia kwenye majani hadi kwenye mizizi yake. Mti huo, una faida nyingi kwa watu kwa sababu, majani yake ni mboga, miti ya matawi yake ni kuni na mizizi yake ni chakula. Ndiyo maana watu husema kwamba, “juu mboga, katikati kuni, chini chakula – muhogo.”

Kitendawili hicho, hulinganishwa kwa mtu yule ambaye ni mkarimu, katika maisha yake. Mtu huyo, husaidia watu walioko kwenye matatizo kwa kutumia mali zake, kwa sababu ya ukarimu wake huo. Yeye hufurahi na watu wengi aliowasaidia kwa sababu ya upendo na ukarimu wake huo kwao, maishani mwake.

Mtu huyo, hufanana na ule muhogo uliosaidia watu wengi kuanzia kwenye majani hadi kwenye mizizi yake, kwa sababu naye huwasaidia watu wengi walioko kwenye matatizo, katika maisha yake. Ndiyo maana watu humwambia kwamba, “juu mboga, katikati kuni, chini chakula – muhogo.”

Kitendawili hicho, hufundisha watu juu ya kuwa na ukarimu wa kuwasaidia wale walioko kwenye matatizo, katika maisha yao, ili waweze kusaidiana vizuri, katika kuyatatua matatizo yao hayo, maishani mwao.

ENGLISH:  I HAVE A RIDDLE- LET IT COME.

THE TOP PART OF IT IS VEGETABLE, THE MIDDLE PART IS FIRE WOOD AND ITS ROOT IS FOOD – CASSAVA PLANT.

This riddle looks the cassava. Cassava is a tree that people use to get to the leaves to its roots. This tree has many benefits for people because its leaves are a vegetable, its branches are fire woods and its roots are food. That is why people say that, “high vegetables, in the middle the fire wood, low food – cassava plant.”

This riddle is related to the person who is generous to others in life. This person helps people who are in need by using his or her resources, because of his or her generosity. He/she rejoices with a good number of people whom he/she has helped because of his/her love and generosity toward them, in life.

This person is like the cassava that helped many people from the leaves to the roots, because he/she also helps many people who are in trouble, in life. That is why people tell him/her that, “high vegetables, in the middle the fire wood, low food – cassava plant.”

This riddle imparts in people an idea on how to be generous in helping those who are in great need, so that they can help each other enough to easily solve their problems, in their lives.

Hunagwene abhanhu bhang’wilaga giki “untemi aheb’ilwe na b’ikaji b’akwe – ng’wi o walwa.”

Kitendawili hicho, hulinganishwa kwa mtu yule ambaye huvitumia kwa ulafi mali zake mpaga zinamletea matatizo, katika maisha yake. Mtu huyo, hupata mali na hela na kuziharibu hovyo mpaga zinamuingiza kwenye matatizo mengi kwa sababu ya ulafi wake huo. Yeye husumbuliwa kwa muda mlefu na matatizo hayo yaliyoletwa na utumiaji wake huo mbaya wa mali hizo, maishani mwake.

Mtu huyo, hufanana na yule mlevi wa pombe aliyekunywa mpaka akili yake ikawa mbaya, kwa sababu naye huvitumia hovyo mali zake, mpaka zinamuletea matatizo, katika maisha yake. Ndiyo maana watu humwambia kwamba, “mfalme wanamshinda wakazi wake – mlevi wa pombe.”

Kitendawili hicho, hufundisha watu juu ya kuacha tabia ya ulafi wa kung’wa pombe, na utumiaji hovyo wa mali zao, ili waweze kuzitunza vizuri mali zao hizo, maishani mwao.

ENGLISH: I HAVE A RIDDLE – LET IT COME.

THE KING IS OVERCOME BY HIS RESIDENTS – AN ALCOHOL DRINKER.

This riddle looks at an alcoholic person. This alcoholic is a person who drinks alcohol to the point of mental retardation. This person becomes addicted to alcohol because his/her mind changes as he/she drinks it. That is why people say to him that, “the king is overcome by his residents –an alcohol drinker.”

This riddle is likened to a man who overindulges in his possessions in life. This man acquires property and money and squanders them, to the point of getting into a lot of trouble because of his greed. He suffers for a long time from these problems which have been caused by his misuse of these properties in his life.

This man resembles the alcoholic person who drank until his mind became bad, because he also wastes his resources, until they cause him problems, in his life. That is why people say to him that, “the king is overcome by his residents – an alcohol drinker.”

This riddle instills in people an idea of having abstinence from alcohol abuse and the misuse of their possessions, so that they can nicely manage their possessions in their lives.

Kitendawi hicho huongelea Mwamba. Mwamba huyo, ni jiwe kubwa ambalo halisogezwi na mtu kwa sababu limeumbwa hivyo. Lenyewe ni zito lisilo tigiswa hata kidogo na msukumaji wake. Ndiyo maana watu humwambia kwamba, “yu imara lakini hasogezwi – mwamba.”

Kitendawili hicho, hulinganishwa kwa mtu yule ambaye huishikiria tabia njema bila kutikishwa na mtu, katika maisha yake. Mtu huyo, hataki kuyacha matendo yake mema hata maadui zake wamtigise kiasi gani, kwa sababu hupata Baraka kutoka kwa Mungu amwaminiye ambazo humsaidia kuyashikiria mema hayo, maishani mwake.

Mtu huyo, hufanana na lile jiwe lisilosogezwa na yeyote, kwa sababu naye hataki kuiacha tabia yake hiyo njema yimwezeshayo kuishi maisha mema, maishani mwake. Yeye huwafundisha watu wake namna ya kuyaishi maneno ya Mungu kwa njia a maisha yake. Ndiyo maana watu humwambia kwamba, “yu imara lakini hasogezwi – mwamba.”

Kitendawili hicho, hufundisha watu juu ya kuyaishi maadili mema kwa kumwamini Mungu siku zote, ili waweze kupata Baraka za kuishi vizuri na wenzao, maishani mwao.

HE IS STRONG BUT NOT MOVED – A ROCK.

This riddle speaks of the Rock. This rock is a huge stone that cannot be moved by any one because it was created in that way. It is heavy to the point of not being moved by its pushers. That is why people say that, “He is strong but not moved – a rock.”

This riddle is compared to a person who adheres to good manners without being shaken by anyone in life. Such person does not want to give up his/her good works no matter how much his/her enemies may scare him/her, because he/she receives blessings from a God who helps him/her enough to hold on to live that good life.

This person is like a stone that no one can move, because he also does not want to give up his good character that enables him to live a good life with others. He teaches his people on how to live the word of God through his life. That is why people say to him that, “He is strong but not moved – a rock.”

This riddle imparts in people an idea on how to live morally by trusting in God at all times, so that they may receive blessings of living well with one another in their lives.

Agoyi gagikolaga nu mhib’i o mbiyu ijo jidazwaga kunguno ulu yutula imbula igenhaga mingi duhu ayo gagahumaga gaja. Hunagwene abhanhu bhagiganilaga giki, “agwitaga mbiyu ningi aliyo uguzwa  nduhu – mamoto ga mbula.”

Kitendawili hicho, huongelea matone ya mvua. Matone hayo ya mvua, ni mapitio ya maji wakati mvua hiyo inanyesha. Yenyewe hufananishwa na mmwagaji wa mbegu ambazo hazioti kwa sababu inaponyesha mvua hiyo, huleta maji tu ambayo hutiririka na kwenda zake. Ndiyo maana watu huhadithiana kwamba, “anamwaga mbegu lakini kuota hakuna –  matone ya mvua.”

Kitendawili hicho, hulinganishwa kwa mtu yule ambaye hufanya kazi zake kwa nguvu nyingi, katika maisha yake. Mtu huyo, hujitegemea mwenyewe kwa kuanza kulima mapema wakati wa mvua za mwanzo. Yeye huyatumia vizuri maji hayo ya mvua mpaga anapata chakula cha aina nyingi, maishani mwake.

Mtu huyo, hufanana na wingi wa matone ya mvua, kwa sababu naye hujibidisha kuyatekeleza kwa nguvu majukumu yake hayo ambayo humpatia mali nyingi, maishani mwake. Ndiyo maana watu humwambia kwamba, “agwitaga mbiyu ningi aliyo uguzwa  nduhu – mamoto ga mbula.”

Kitendawili hicho hufundisha watu juu ya kujibidisha kuyatekeleza kwa nguvu nyingi majukumu yao, ili waweze kupata mali nyingi za kutosha kuziendeleza vizuri familia zao, maishani mwao.

ENGLISH: I HAVE A RIDDLE – LET IT COME.

“HE POURS OUT MANY SEEDS BUT THERE IS NO GERMINATION – RAINDROPS.”

The overhead riddle looks at raindrops. These raindrops are a review of water when it rains. It is likened to a bath of seeds that do not germinate because when it rains, it brings only water that flows and goes away. That is why people tell each other that, “he pours out many seeds but there is no germination – raindrops.”

This riddle is paralleled to the man who performs his deeds with great force, in his life. He is self-sufficient in early plowing during the early rains. He makes good use of this rainwater and gets plenty of food in his life.

This man is like the raindrops, because he also strives to carry out his responsibilities, which give him a lot of wealth, in his life. That is why people say to him that, “he pours out many seeds but there is no germination – raindrops.”

This riddle teaches people on how to work hard enough to fulfill their responsibilities, so that they can earn enough money for running well their families.
