KISWAHILI: SAFARI GANI HII?

Chanzo cha msemo huo kilianzia kwa watu waliokuwa katika safari yao ya kwenda sehemu fulani. Watu hao, walikuwa wakitembea kwa kutofautiana, huku wengine walinyosha wakitembea kwa haraka katika safari yao hiyo, lakini baadhi yao walitembea polepole huku wakisimama sehemu mbalimbali. Ndiyo maana watu waliwauliza kwamba, “safari gani hii?’

Msemo huo, hulinganishwa kwa watu wale ambao hufanya kazi zao bila kuwa na umoja wenye ushirikiano mzuri, katika maisha yao. Watu hao, hufanya kazi zao kwa kusitasita kwa sababu ya kukosa umaskini wa kushikiriana kwa umoja katika utekelezaji wa majukumu yao hayo. Wao hushindwa kupata mali nyingi kwenye familia zao, kwa sababu ya kukosa huo umakini wenye ushirikiano wa kufanya kazi zao vizuri, maishani mwao.

Watu hao, hufanana na wale waliosafiri bila kuwa na umoja wa kuendana kwa pamoja katika safari yao hiyo, kwa sababu nao huwa hawaendani vizuri katika utekelezaji wa majukumu yao. Ndiyo maana watu huwauliza kwamba, “safari gani hii?”

Msemo huo, hufundisha watu juu ya kufanya kazi zao kwa kuwa na ushirikiano wa kuendena vizuri katika utekelezaji wa majukumu yao, ili waweze kupata mali nyingi, maishani mwao.

ENGLISH: WHAT JOURNEY IS THIS?

The source of the above saying started from people who were on their journey to a certain place. They were walking differently, while others stretched out walking quickly on their journey, but some of them walked slowly while stopping at different places. That is why people asked them that, “What journey is this?”

This saying is related to people who do their works without having good cooperation in their families. Those people do their works reluctantly because of the lack of unity in fulfilling their duties. They fail to get good enough wealth to run their families, because of lack of that cooperative focus in doing their daily jobs well in their societies.

These people are similar to those who traveled without having unity of going together in their journey, because they also do not go well together in fulfilling their daily duties. That is why people ask them that, “What journey is this?”

This saying imparts in people an idea of doing their jobs by having good cooperation enough to go well in fulfilling their daily responsibilities, so that they can get a lot of wealth in their families.

1150. NISENGEKELAGA MACHIMU NA MASONGA.

Ugwisengekela ili gubhucha nulu guzega michimu na masonga. Amachimu jili jilanga ja guchimila. Amasonga gali jilanga ja gulasila ginhu nulu bhanishi bho gutumila bhuta.

Ulihoyi munhu uyo agazega jilanga jakwe kunguno ojaga gujitula na bhanishi bhakwe. Hunagwene abhanhu obhawilaga giki, “nisengekelaga machimu na masonga.”

Akahayile kenako kagalenganijiyagwa kuli munhu uyo agasolaga jilanga ja gutumamila milimo yakwe chiza umukikalile kakwe. Umunhu ng’wunuyo agikalaga higiki bhuli makanza bho gutumamila jilanga jawiza umumilimo yakwe kunguno ya witegeleja bhokwe bhunubho. Uweyi agapandikaga sabho ningi umubhutumami bhokwe kunguno ya gutumila jilanga ja wiza umumilimo yakwe yiniyo, umuwikaji bhokwe.

Umunhu ng’wunuyo agikolaga nuyo agabhucha machimu na masonga aho ajile kubhulugu, kunguno nuweyi agasolaga jitumamilo jawiza umubhutumami bhokwe. Hunagwene agayombaga giki, “nisengekelaga machimu na masonga.”

KISWAHILI: NIMEBEBA MIKUKI NA MISHALE.

Mikuki ni silaha za kuchomea kitu fulani. Mishale nazo ni silaha za kuchomea kitu au adui kwa kutumia upinde. Alikuwepo mtu aliyebeba silaha zake hizo kwenda kupigana na adui zake. Ndiyo maana aliwaambia watu kwamba, “nimebeba mikuki na mishale.”

Msemo huo, hulinganishwa kwa mtu yule ambaye hubeba silaha nzuri za kufanyia kazi zake katika maisha yake. Mtu huyo, huwa tayari kila wakati kwa kubeba na kutumia silaha zitakiwazo katika utekelezaji wa majukumu yakwe, kwa sababu ya umakini wake huo. Yeye hupata mafanikio mengi katika kazi zake kwa sababu ya kutumia silaha nzuri katika kazi zake hizo, maishani mwake.

Mtu huyo, hufanana na yule mtu aliyebeba mikuki na mishale alipokuwa akienda vitani, kwa sababu naye huchukua zana nzuri za kufanyia kazi zake, katika utekelezaji wa majukumu yake. Ndiyo maana yeye huwaambia watu kwamba, “nimebeba mikuki na mishale.”

Msemo huo, hufundisha watu juu ya kutumia silaha nzuri katika utekelezaji wa majukumu yao, ili waweze kupata mafanikio mengi, maishani mwao.

ENGLISH: I HAVE CARRIED SPEARS AND ARROWS.

Spears are weapons for chopping something. Arrows are also weapons for slicing something or an enemy by using a bow. There was a man who carried his weapons in fighting against his enemies. That is why he told the people that, “I have carried spears and arrows.”

This saying is compared to a person who carries good weapons enough to do his works in his life. Such person is always ready to carry and use the necessary weapons in the execution of his duties, because of his attention. He gets a lot of successes in his works because of using good weapons in fulfilling his daily responsibilities.

This person resembles to the person who carried spears and arrows when he was going to war, because he also takes good tools for doing well his works in fulfilling his duties. That is why he tells people that, “I have carried spears and arrows.”

This saying teaches people about using good weapons in the execution of their duties, so that they can get a lot of successes in their families.

Akahayile kenako kagalenganijiyagwa kuli nimi uyo agab’ib’aga mbiyu jakwe jazwa ulu yatula imbula, umukikalile kakwe. Unimi ng’wunuyo agab’ib’aga mbiyu olindilila mpaga yatula imbula ya gujizwisha imbuyi jinijo, kunguno ya wisagiji bhokwe bhutale ukuli Mulungu. Uweyi agalimaga migunda mitale iyo agaponaga majiliwe mingi, kunguno ya wisagiji bhokwe bhutale ukuli Mulungu, umubhutumami bho milimo yakwe yiniyo, umuwikaji bhokwe.

Imbiyu ja nimi ng’wunuyo, jigikolaga na mino ayo gagazwagwa ulu lyashiga ilikanza lyago, kunguno ni joyi jigazwaga ulu yatula imbula. Hunagwene abhanhu bhagiganilaga giki, “gab’iwa na ng’winikili – mino.”

Ikalagu yiniyo yalanga bhanhu higulya ya gwigulambija gutumama milimo yabho bho gung’wisanya Mulungu uyo agab’inhaga bhupandiki, kugiki bhadule kupandika sabho ningi umubhutumami bho milimo yabho, umuwikaji bhobho.

KISWAHILI: KITENDAWILI – TEGA.

YAMEMWAGWA NA MWENYEWE HUWA YANAOTA – MENO.

Mtu akizaliwa huwa kibogoyo kwa sababu ya kutokuwa hata na jino moja. Lakini basi, ukifika wakati wake meno hayo huota kwa sababu huwa yanaletwa na Mungu mwenyewe. Ndiyo maana watu huhadithiana kwamba, “yamemwagwa na mwenyewe huwa yanaota – meno.”

Msemo huo hulinganishwa kwa mkulima yule ambaye humwaga mbegi ambazo huota inaponyesha mvua, katika maisha yake. Mkulima huyo, humwaga mbegu zake na kusubiri mpaka mvua inanyesha ya kutosha kuziotesha, kwa sababu ya kuweka matumaini yakwe kwa Mungu. Yeye hulima mashamba makubwa ambayo humpatia mavuno mengi kwa sababu ya kumtegemea Mungu katika utekelezaji wa kazi zake hizo, maishani mwake.

Mbegu hizo, hufanana na yale meno yaliyoota baada ya kufika wakati wake, kwa sababu nazo huota baada ya mvua kunyesha. Ndiyo maana watu huhadithiana kwamba, “yamemwagwa na mwenyewe huwa yanaota – meno.”

Kitendawili hicho, hufundisha watu juu ya kujibidisha kufanya kazi kwa kumtegemea Mungu awajaliaye mafanikio, ili waweze kupata mali nyingi katika kazi zao, maishani mwao.

ENGLISH: I HAVE A RIDDLE – LET IT COME.

THEY WERE SOWED BY THE OWNER GERMINATE – TEETH.

When a person is born, he is a toothless because he does not have even one tooth. But then, when the time comes, those teeth germinate because they are brought by God Himself. That is why people tell each other that, “they were sowed by the owner germinate – teeth.”

This riddle is equaled to the farmer who pours the seeds that grow when it rains in his farm. Such farmer pours his seeds and waits until it rains enough to grow them, because of putting his hope in God. He cultivates large fields that give to him a lot of harvest because of relying on God in the implementation of his works, in his life.

Those seeds are similar to the teeth that germinated after their time have come, because they also germinate after it rains. That is why people tell each other that, “they were sowed by the owner germinate – teeth.”

This riddle teaches people about forcing themselves to work by relying on God who gives to them success, so that they can get a lot of wealth in their daily works.

Ikalagu yiniyo, ihoyelile higulya ya katunge kadoo. Akatunge kenako kalikajisumva kadoo ako katina boya umuwili gogo aliyo lulu kagalala nyanoni. Ulu munhu uchola loya ukukoyi adupandika kunguno kadinalo. Hunagwene abhanhu bhagakinatanga giki “kenako kagajijinolo – katunge kadoo.”

Ikalagu yiniyo, igalenganijiyagwa kuli munhu uyo ali ngugu umukikalile kakwe. Umunhu ng’wunuyo, aling’wibanu ugujifunya bho gubhinha bhiye ijikolo jakwe kunguno ya bhugugu bhokwe bhunubho. Uweyi agajituulaga mukaya ijikolo jakwe jinijo mpaga jabhipa bho ndugu ugubhagunanha abhiye kunguno ya bhugugu bhokwe bhunubho, umuwikaji bhokwe.

Umunhu ng’wunuyo, agikolaga na katunge ako kadina b’oya, kunguno nuweyi agikalaga na jikolo umukaya yakwe mpaga jabhipa bho nduhu ugubhagunanha abhiye abho bhali na makoye. Hunagwene abhanhu bhagang’witanaga giki, “kenako kagajijinolo – katunge kadoo.”

Ikalagu yiniyo yalanga bhanhu higulya ya gubhiza na wizanholo bho gubhagunanha abhichacho abho bhali na makoye kugiki bhadule kujilanhana chiza ikaya jabho, umuwikaji bhobho.

KISWAHILI: HUYO NI BAHILI – POPO MDOGO.

Kitendawili hicho huongelea juu ya popo mdogo. Popo huyo ni kiumbe kidogo ambacho hakina manyoya katika mwili wake lakini huruka kama ndege. Ndiyo maana watu hukiambia kwamba “huyo ni bahili – popo mdogo.”

 Kitendawili hicho, hulinganishwa kwa mtu yule ambaye ni bahili katika maisha yake. Mtu huyo, huvibania kuwapa wenzake vitu vyake kwa sababu ya ubahili wake huo. Yeye huviweka nyumbani mwake vitu vyake hivyo mpaka vinaharibika bila ya kuwasaidia watu walio na matatizo kwa sababu ya ubahili wake huo, maishani mwake.

Mtu huyo, hufanana na kale kapopo ambako hakana manyoya ya kuwapa wengine, kwa sababu naye hubaki na vitu vyake mpaka vinaharibika ya bila kuwasaidia wenzake walioko kwenye matatizo. Ndiyo maana watu humwambia kwamba, “huyo ni bahili.”

Kitendawili hicho, hufundisha watu juu ya kuwa na ukarimu wa kuwasaidia wenzao walioko kwenye matatizo, ili waweze kuzitunza vizuri familia zao, maishani mwao.

The overhead riddle is about a little bat. Such bat is a small creature that has no feathers in its body but it flies like a bird. That is why people say that, “that is a miser – a little bat.”

This riddle is equated to a person who is stingy in his life. Such person refuses to give his things to his colleagues because of his stinginess. He keeps his things in his house until they are destroyed without helping the people who have problems because of such meanness, in his life.

This person is like the little bat had no feathers of giving to others, because he also keeps his things until they are destroyed without helping his colleagues who are in anxiety. That is why people tell him that, “that is a miser – a little bat.”

This riddle imparts in people an idea of being generous enough to support their nobles who are in distress, so that they can take good care of their families in their lives.

Uweyi agapandikaga mbango ja gwikala na bhuyegi bhutale aha kaya yakwe nyiniyo, kunguno ya gubhabokela chiza abhageni bhakwe bhenabho, umuwikaji bhokwe.

Mtu huyo, huwatunza kwa kuwachinjia mfugo wageni wake wanaomtembelea kwenye familia yake hiyo, kwa sababu ya ukarimu wake huo. Yeye hupata Baraka za kuishi kwa furaha kubwa kwenye familia yake hiyo kwa sababu ya kuwakaribisha vizuri wageni wake hao, maishani mwake.

Mtu huyo, hufanana na yule aliyewalisha watu aliwaalika kwenye harusi yake mpaka wakashiba, kwa sababu naye huwatunza wageni wanaofika kwenye familia yake hiyo kwa kuwachinjia mfugo. Ndiyo maana wageni wake hao huseka kwa furaha kwamba, “ardhi ipasuke.”

Msemo huo, hufundisha watu juu ya kuwa na ukarimu wa kuwakaribisha vizuri wageni wao, ili waweze kupata Baraka za kuishi kwa furaha kwenye familia zao hizo, maishani mwao.

ENGLISH: LET THE EARTH SPLIT.

There was a man who invited people to his wedding. He prepared enough food for his people to eat and drink. The people went to the party and ate until they were full. They left the food because there was a lot. That is why they said with joy that, “let the Earth split.”

This saying is equated to a person who welcomes people into his family by taking good care of them, in his life. Such person takes care of his guests who visit his family by slaughtering livestock, because of his generosity. He gets blessings of living happily in his family because of welcoming his guests well in his family.

This person is like the one who fed the people he invited to his wedding until they were full, because he also takes good care of guests who come to his family by slaughtering goats. That is why his guests laugh with joy that “let the Earth split.”

This saying teaches people about being generous enough to welcome their guests well, so that they can get blessings of living happily in their families.
