Olihoyi munhu uyo obhambilija gutumama milimo abhiye umuchalo cha Ng’watuju. Umunhu ng’wunuyo, otumamaga nabho gwingila diyu mpaga mhindi kunguno ya lisungu lyakwe ukubhoyi. Aliyo lulu, abhanhu bhenabho, bhamanaga bhundahahija duhu ulu obhambilija chiniko, kunguno ya bhujidalumba bhobho. Hunagwene umunhu ng’wunuyo agayomba giki, “nasholwa bhingi.”

Akahayile kenako, kagalengajiyagwa kuli munhu uyo agitaga mihayo yawiza ukunhu bhalinduhilija abhiye, umukikalile kakwe. Umunhu ng’wunuyo, agitaga miito gawiza gagubhambilija abhanhu abho bhali na makoye kunguno ya bhutungilija na bhutogwa bhokwe ukubhiye bhenabho, abho bhagamaga bhunduhilija duhu. Uweyi agiyumilijaga gwita mihayo ya wiza ukubhiye bho nduhu ugubhadegeleka abho bhagandarahijaga, kunguno ya bhutungilija bhokwe bhunubho, umuwikaji bhokwe.

Msemo huo, hulinganishwa kwa mtu yule ambaye hutenda matendo mema huku wenzake wakimdharau, katika maisha yake. Mtu huyo, hutenda matendo ya kuwasaidia watu walioko kwenye matatizo kwa sababu ya uaminifu na upendo wake kwao watu hao ambao humdharua tu. Yeye huvumilia kuendelea kutenda mema kwa wenzake hao bila kuwajali wale wanaomdharau, maishani mwake.

Mtu huyo, hufanana na yule aliyekuwa akiwasaidia watu waliokuwa wakimdharau, kwa sababu naye hutenda matendo mema kwa wenzake bila kuwajali wale wanaomdharau, katika maisha yake. Ndiyo maana huwaambia kwamba, “nimefyonzwa wengi.”

Msemo huo, hufundisha watu juu ya kuvumilia kutenda mema bila kuwasikiliza wale wanaowadharau, ili waweze kupata mafanikio mengi, maishani mwao.

There was a man who was helping his colleagues in a village of Ng’watuju. Such man helped them in doing their works from morning to evening because of his compassion for them. But those people were just disrespecting him every time he helped them like that because of their lack of gratitude. That is why he said that, “I have been absorbed by many.”

This saying is equated to a person who does good deeds to his people while they despise him, in his life. Such person helps people who are in trouble because of his loyalty and love for those people who just despise him. He endures to continue doing good deeds to his colleagues regardless of those who despise him, in his life.

This person is similar to the one who used to help people who despised him, because he also does good deeds to his colleagues without caring about those who despise him, in his life. That is why he tells them that, “I have been absorbed by many.”

This saying teaches people about persevering to do good deeds without listening to those who despise them, so that they can get a lot of success in their lives.

KISWAHILI: MIMI SIO WA KULETEWA MAJIGAMBO.

Walikuwepo watu waliozozana kwenye kijiji cha Mwatuma. Watu hao, walizozania mpaka wa mashamba yao mpaka wakaanza kutukanana kwa sababu ya hasira zao. Mmoja wao alionesha kwamba yeye hatishwi na yeyote wala hashindwi. Ndiyo maana alisema kwamba, “mimi sio wa kuletewa majigambo.”

Msemo huo, hulinganishwa kwa mtu yule ambaye hukasirika haraka mpaka anaongea maneno yasiyo na faida, katika maisha yake. Mtu huyo, huwa anawakaripia hovyo watu walioko kwenye familia yake, kwa sababu ya hasira zake hiyo. Yeye huwasambaratisha watu anaoishi nao kwenye familia yake, mpaka anabaki yeye peke yake, kwa sababu ya hasira zake hizo, maishani mwake.

Mtu huyo, hufanana na wale waliozozania mpaka wa mashamba yao, mpaka wakaanza kutukanana hovyo, kwa sababu naye hukasirika haraka mpaka anaanza kuwatukana hovyo watu walioko kwenye familia yake, katika maisha yake. Ndiyo maana yeye huwaambia watu hao kwamba, “mimi sio wa kuletewa majigambo.”

Msemo huo, hufundisha watu juu ya kuacha hasira za kuwatukana hovyo wenzao, ili waweze kuzilea vizuri familia zao, maishani mwao.

ENGLISH: I AM NOT ONE TO BE BOASTED ABOUT.

There were people who quarreled in a village of Mwatuma. Those people argued about the border of their fields until they started insulting each other because of their anger. One of them showed that he is not threatened by anyone and does not fail. That is why he said that, “I am not one to be boasted about.”

This saying is equaled to a person who gets angry quickly until he speaks useless words in his life. Such person scolds the people in his family carelessly, because of his anger. He despises the people who stay with him in his family, until he remains alone, because of his anger.

This person resembles to those who quarreled over the border of their fields, until they started insulting each other carelessly, because he also gets angry quickly until he starts insulting people in his family. That is why he tells those people that, “I am not one to be boasted about.”

This saying, instils in people an idea of stopping anger of insulting their fellows, so that they can raise well their families, in their lives.

Uweyi agabhalangaga abhanhu ugujitumamila chiza ijikolo ijikoji pye ni jiliwa jabho, kunguno ya witegeleja bhokwe bhunubho, umuwikaji bhokwe.

Umunhu ng’wunuyo, agikolaga nabho bhagatumilaga ginhu jikoji bho witegeleja, kunguno nuweyi agabhalangaga abhanhu bhakwe ugujitumila bho witegeleja ijiliwa ni jikolo jabho, umukikalile kakwe. Hunagwene uweyi agabhawilaga abhanhu bhakwe giki, “ili likangika.”

Akahayile kenako kalanga bhanhu higulya ya kubhiza na witegeleja bhutale ubho gujitumila chiza ikolo jabho, kugiki bhadule gujilela chiza ikaya jabho, umuwikaji bhobho.

Kali ni kitu kinacho levya, au kusisimua, kama vile pombe, pilipili, tumbaku na vingine vinavyofanana na hivyo. Kitu hicho, hutumiwa kwa umakini na watu kwa sababu ya ukali wake huo. Ndiyo maana watu husema kwamba, “hii ni kali.”

Mtu huyo, hufanana na wale waliovitumia vileo kwa umakini, kwa sababu naye huwafundisha watu wake namna ya kuvitumia kwa umakini vileo na mali zao, katika maisha yake. Ndiyo maana yeye huwaambia watu wake kwamba, “hii ni kali.”

Msemo huo, hufundisha watu juu ya kuwa na umakini mkubwa katika kuvitumia vileo na mali zao, ili waweze kuzilea vizuri familia zao, maishani mwao.

Strong thing is something that is intoxicating, or stimulating, such as alcohol, pepper, tobacco and the like. Such thing is used seriously by people because of its severity. That is why people say that, “this is strong.”

This saying is related to a person who uses his things very seriously, in his life. Such person always aims at making good use of food, vegetables and everything he has, because of his responsiveness. He also teaches his people on how to use their things well, because of his attention, in his life.

This person is similar to those who used alcohol seriously, because he also teaches his people on how to use alcohol and their property seriously, in his life. That is why he tells his people that, “this is strong.”

This saying teaches people about being very careful in using alcohol and their wealth, so that they can raise their families well, in their lives.

Akahayile kenako kagalenganijiyagwa kuli munhu uyo agitulaga bhumani bho gwigimba sagala, umukikalile kakwe. Umunhu ng’wunuyo, agikalaga abhadarahile abhiye kunguno ya wigimbi bhokwe bhunubho. Uweyi apandikaga mamihayo gagwiduma na bhanhu aha kaya yakwe kunguno ya gwitula bhumani bho gubhadalaha abhiye chiniko, umuwikaji bhokwe bhunubho.

Umunhu ng’wunuyo, agikolaga nuyo agaligima ilipuli bho gulikinda linti mpaga lyuntula, ugagwa mulilonga, kunguno nuweyi agitulaga bhumani bho gubhabyeda abhiye mpaga opandika mamihayo gagwiduma na bhanhu aha kaya yakwe yiniyo, umukikalile kakwe. Hunagwene abhanhu bhagang’wilaga giki, “lyangakalila.”

Akahayile kenako kalanga bhanhu higulya ya gubhutumamila chiza ubhutale nubhumani bhokwe umubhutumami bho milimo yabho, kugiki bhadule gwikala chiza na bhichabho, umuwikaji bhobho.

KISWAHILI: LIMEMTUKA KWA MAJIGAMBO.

Msemo huo, huongelea watu walioenda kumwangalia Tembo kwenye kijiji cha Ndoleleji. Tembo huyo aliachwa na wenzake kwenye bustani ya Mto wa Mangu alijilisha.

Watu walipomuona huyo Tembo walikimbia kwenda kumuangalia mpaga wakawa wengi sana. Mmoja wa wale watu alijidai kumzoea huyo Tembo kwa kumsogelea mpaga akamchoma mti, kwa sababu ya majivuno yake hayo. Tembo huyo aligeuka na kumfuata kwa majigambo yule mtu ambaye alikimbia kuelekea unakoenda upepo mpaka akaanguka kwenye korongo. Ndiyo maana watu walimwambia kwamba, “limemtuka kwa majigambo.”

Msemo huo, hulinganishwa kwa mtu yule ambaye hujitia kujua kwa kujigamba hovyo, katika maisha yake. Mtu huyo, huwadharau wenzake kwa sababu ya majivuno yake hayo. Yeye hupata matatizo ya kukosana na watu kwenye familia yake, kwa sababu ya kujidai kujua kwake akiwadharau wenzake hao, maishani mwake.

Mtu huyo, hufanana na yule aliyejigamba kwa kumchola mti Tembo, afukuzwa mpaka agaangukia kwenye korongo, kwa sababu naye hujigamba kwa kuwadharau wenzake mpaka anapata matatizo ya kukosana na watu, katika maisha yake. Ndiyo maana watu humwambia kwamba, “limemkuta kwa majigambo.”

Msemo huo, hufundisha watu juu ya kuutumia vizuri uongozi na uwezo wao, katika utekelezaji wa majukumu yao, ili waweze kuishi vizuri na wenzao, maishani mwao.

ENGLISH: IT HAS POMPOUSLY FOUND HIM.

This saying speaks of the people who went to see an Elephant in the village of Ndoleleji. This elephant was left by his companions in the Mangu River garden where it fed itself.

This saying is compared to a person who makes himself known by being vainly proud, in his life. Such person despises his colleagues because of his pride. He has problems of missing people who can to stay with him in his family, because of his self-deprecating knowledge of those colleagues in his life.

This person resembles the one who boasted about to the point of stabling an elephant by using a tree, who was chased until he fell into a canyon, because he also boasts about disrespecting his colleagues until he gets problems of not getting along with people, in his life. That is why people tell him that, “it has pompously found him.”

This saying imparts in people an idea of using their leadership and abilities properly, in an enactment of their responsibilities, so that they can live well with their people, in their lives.

Umunhu ng’wunuyo, agajaga ugujiita iyabhubhi yiniyo, bho gwibhanda ukunhu alipanda hado hado kunguno ya giki adizigwiwa na gubhona na bhanikili abho alibhitila iyabhubhi yiniyo. Uweyi agikalaga na wibhakizu aha kaya yakwe kunguno ya kutumama mihayo yakwe iyabhibhi yiniyo, umuwikaji bhokwe bhunubho.

Umunhu ng’wunuyo, agikolaga nu nshiya uyo agajaga ugujiita iyabhubhi yiniyo, bho gwibhisa ukunu alipando hado hado, kunguno nuweyi agaitumamaga imihayo iyabhubhi yiniyo, bho gwibhisa, kugiki adizubhonwa nabho alibhitila iyabhibhu yiniyo, umukikalile kakwe. Hunagwene abhanhu bhagang’wilaga giki, “nshiya adi na nkindo.”

Akahayile kenako kalanga bhanhu higulya ya kuleka gwita mihayo ya bhubhi, umukikalile kabho, kugiki bhadule gwikala bho mholele na bhichabho, umu kaya jabho, umuwikaji bhobho.

KISWAHILI: MZINZI HANA KISHINDO.

Msemo huo hufundisha watu juu ya kuacha kutenda maovu katika maisha yao, ili waweze kuishi kwa amani katika familia zao, maishani mwao.

This person resembles the adulterer who went to carry out his evil act in hiding, because he also carries out his evil in hiding so that he is not known to people, in his life. That is why people tell him that, “the adulterer has no voice.”
