Ikalagu yiniyo, igalenganijiyagwa ku abhanhu abho bhagikalaga bhiyigwile chiza, umukikalile kabho. Abhanhu bhenabho, bhagapangaga kihamo imilimo ya gutumama iyo bhagatumamaga bho gwiyambilija chiza chiniko kunguno ya ng’wigwana gobho na witogwi bhobho bhunubho, umuwikaji bhobho. Abhoyi bhagikalaga na bhuyeji bhutale aha kaya yabho kunguno ya gwikala na ng’wigwano gobho gunuyo, umukikalile kabho.

Abhanbu bhenabho bhagikolaga na nda na nkundi ijo jigikolaga kihamo umumili go ng’wa munhu, kunguno nabhoyi bhagatumamaga milimo yabho kihamo na bho ng’wigwano gutale aha kaya yabho. Hunagwene abhanhu bhagabhawilaga giki, “ilale lwane litale lilina jigogo jimo – Nda na Nkundi.”

SHAMBA LANGU KUBWA LINA KISIKI KIMOJA – TUMBO NA KITOVU.

Kitendawili hicho chaongelea juu ya tumbo na kitovu zilizopo pamoja kwenye mwili wa mtu. Tumbo la mtu huchukua sehemu kubwa ambayo hufananishwa na shamba, lakini kitovu ni kimoja tu, ambacho hufananishwa na kisiki. Ndiyo maana watu husema kwamba, “shamba langu kubwa lina kisiki kimoja – tumbo na kitovu.” 

Kitendawili hicho, hulinganishwa kwa watu wale ambao huishi kwa uelewano mzuri, katika maisha yao. Watu hao, hupanga mipango yao ya kazi kwa pamoja kiasi cha kutosha kuzitekeleza vizuri kazi hizo kwa kusaidiana kwa sababu ya uelewano na upendo wao huo. Wao huishi maisha ya furaha kubwa kwenye familia yao, kwa sababu ya ushirikiano na uelewano wao huo, katika maisha yao.

Watu hao hufanana na tumbo na kitovu viishivyo pamoja mwilini mwa mtu, kwa sababu nao hushirikiana kufanya kazi kwa pamoja na kwa uelewano mkubwa kwenye familia yao. Ndiyo maana watu huwaambia kwamba, “shamba langu kubwa lina kisiki kimoja – tumbo na kitovu.”

Kitendawili hicho, hufundisha watu juu ya kuwa na uelewano wa kufanya kazi zao kwa kusaidiana pamoja, katika maisha yao, ili waweze kupata mafanikio mengi, maishani mwao.

MY BIG FARM HAS ONE STUMP – STOMACH AND NAVEL.

This riddle talks about a stomach and a navel that are together in the human body. A person’s stomach takes up a large part which is compared to a field, but the navel is only one, which is compared to a stump. That is why a person says that, “my big farm has one stump – stomach and navel.”

This paradox is compared to people who live in harmony with their members in their lives. These people plan their works together enough to carry out those tasks well by helping each other because of their mutual understanding and love. They live a life of great happiness in their family, because of their cooperation and understanding, in their lives.

These people are like the stomach and navel that live together in a person’s body, because they too work together and with great understanding in their family. That is why one of them says that, “my big farm has one stump – stomach and navel.”

This riddle teaches people about having an understanding of doing their works by helping each other, in their lives, so that they can get a lot of success in their societies.

Ikalagu yiniyo, yilolile kikalile ka mbuli. Imbuli yiniyo, iganyaga bhushi bhudobhudo bhopi kunguno ya gubhumbwa goyo chene. Giko lulu, ubhushi bhoyo bhunubho, bhugalenanijiyagwa na ng’halanga japi. Hunagwene abhanhu bhagayombaga giki, “ng’wenuyo agwitaga ng’halanga japi – mbuli.”

Ikalagu yiniyo, igalenganijiyagwa kuli munhu uyo agayombaga mihayo midodo iyo yidiyanhana, umukikalile kakwe. Umunhu ng’wunuyo, agayabhukaga bho guyomba mihayo midodo iyo yidulile kubhenhela makoye abhanhu bhakwe, kunguno ya bhulongo bhokwe, bhunubho. Uweyi agayikenagulaga ikaya yakwe bho guyabhuka mihayo yiniyo iyo idina bhunhana kunguno ya gukija gwiganika chiza gokwe gunuyo, umuwikaji bhokwe.

Imihayo ya ng’wa munhu ng’wunuyo, igikolaga nu bhushi bho mbuli ubhopi bhunubho, kunguno nayo iliyapi iyo agayiyabhukaga umunhu uyo adinaganikaga chiza ng’wunuyo, umukikalile kakwe kenako. Hunagwene abhanhu bhagang’wilaga giki, “ng’wenuyo agwitaga ng’halanga japi – mbuli.”

HUYO ANAMWAGA KARANGA NYEUSI – MBUZI.

Kitendawili hicho, huangalia maisha ya mbuzi. Mbuzi huyo hujisaidia vinyesi vidogo vidogo vyeusi kwa sababu ya kuumbwa kwake hivyo. Hivyo basi, vinyesi hivyo hufananishwa na kalanga kwa sababu ya kuwa na umbo la mviringo na weusi wake huo. Ndiyo maana watu huhadithiana kwamba, “huyo anamwaga karanga nyeusi – mbuzi.”

Kitendawili hicho, hulinganishwa kwa mtu yule ambaye huongea maneno madogo madogo ambayo hayana ukweli ndani yake, katika maisha yake. Mtu huyo, hupayuka hovyo kwa kuongea maneno madogo madogo yanayoweza kuwaletea matatizo watu wake, kwa sababu ya uongo wake huo. Yeye huiharibu familia yake kwa kulopoka maneno hayo ya uongo, maishani mwake.

Maneno hayo hufanana na vile vinyesi vyeusi vya mbuzi huyo, kwa sababu naye huongea maneno madogo madogo ambayo hayana ukweli ndani yake, katika maisha yake. Ndiyo maana watu humwambia kwamba, “huyo anamwaga karanga nyeusi – mbuzi.”

Kitendawili hicho, hufundisha watu juu ya kuwa makini kwa kuacha kuongea maneno ya uongo, hata kama ni madogo kiasi gani, ili waweze kuishi vizuri na wenzao kwenye familia zao.

ENGLISH: I HAVE A RIDDLE – LET IT COME.

THAT ONE SPILLS BLACK GROUNDNUTS – A GOAT.

This riddle looks at the life of a goat. This goat defecates in small black stools because of its constituents. Therefore, the farces are compared to groundnuts because of their round shape and blackness. That is why people tell each other that, “that one spills black groundnuts – a goat.”

This riddle is compared to the person who speaks words that have no truth, in his life. Such person, gets away carelessly by speaking words that can cause problems to his people, because of his lies. He destroys his family by spouting those false words, in his life.

Those words resemble the black excrement of the goat, because he also speaks words that are not true in his life. That is why people tell him that, “that one spills black groundnuts – a goat.”

This riddle imparts in people an ideal of being careful enough to stop telling lies, no matter how small, so that they can live well with their people in their families.

Ikalagu yiniyo, yilolile katulile ka mbula. Imbula yiniyo, ulu yandra ugutula bhagalebha mabala matale kunguno b’ulikwene bhagamanaga bhiwila igiki lyatulaga nise na igikalaga mabala matale ayo igatulaga iyoyi. Hunagwene abhanhu bhagiwilaga giki, “mbasa ya ng’wa b’ab’a lutandula makungu.”

Ikalagu yiniyo, igalenganijiyagwa kuli munhu uyo osolanyiwa gub’iza Ntemi osi nhale, umukikalile kakwe. Untemi ng’wunuyo agatongelaga bhanhu bhingi abho bhali musi yakwe yiniyo, bho gubhalamula chiza na gubhambilija abho bhali na makoye kunguno ya bhutungijilija bhokwe. Uweyi agabhenhelaga bhuyegi bhutale abhanhu bhakwe kunguno ya bhutumami bhokwe ubhowiza bhunubho, umubhotemi bhokwe bhunubho.

Untemi ng’wunuyo, agikolaga ni mbula iyo igatulaga mabala matale kunguno nuweyi agatongelaga bhanhu bha Si nhale, umubhutemi bhokwe abho abhalenhelaga bhuyegi bhutale, umubhutumami bhokwe bhonubho. Hunagwene abhanhu bhagang’wilaga giki, “mbasa ya ng’wa b’ab’a lutandula makungu.”

Ikalagu yiniyo, yalanga bhanhu higulya ya gubhiza na ng’wigano go gubhadegeleka na gubhigwa chiza, abhatongeji bhabho, kugiki bhadule gwikala na bhuyeji bho gutumama milimo yabho chiza, umuwikaji bhobho.

SHOKA LA BABA KIPASUA NCHI – MVUA.

Kitendawili hicho, huongelea juu ya unyeshaji wa mvua kwenye nchi fulani. Mvua hiyo, ikianza kunyesha watu wengi huelewa wazi kwamba imenyesha sehemu kubwa kwa sababu ya uwepo wa wananchi wengi ambao kutuoa taarifa ya kunyesha kwa mvua hiyo kubwa, kwenye maeneo yao. Ndiyo maana watu huhadithiana kwamba, “shoka la baba kipasua nchi.”

Kitendawili hicho, hulinganishwa kwa mtu yule ambaye huteuliwa kuwa mfalme wa nchi kubwa, katika maisha yake. Mfalme huyo, huwaongoza watu wengi waliomo ndani ya nchi yake hiyo kubwa, kwa kuwaamulia masuala na kuwasadia vizuri walio na matatizo mbalimbali, katika utawala wake huo. Yeye huwaletea furaha kubwa watu wake kwa sababu ya utumishi wake huo, kuwa mzuri, maishani mwake.

Mfalme huyo, hufanana na ile mvua iliyonyesha kwenye sehemu kubwa, kwa sababu naye huongoza nchi kubwa yenye watu wengi, katika maisha yake. Ndiyo maana watu humwambia kwamba, “shoka la baba kipasua nchi.”

Kitendawili hicho, hufundisha watu juu ya kuwa na uelewano wa kuwasikiliza na kuwaelewa vizuri viongozi wao, ili waweze kuishi kwa furaha na amani ya kuwawezesha kufanya kazi zao vizuri, maishani mwao.

The above riddle talks about the rainfall in a certain country. When it starts to rain, many people understand that it has covered a large part, because of the presence of a number of them who speak about it, in their areas. That is why people tell each other that, “my father’s ax splits the land.”

This paradox is compared to the person who is appointed a king of a big country, in his life. This king leads many people well in his big country, by deciding issues and providing good support to those who have various problems, in his administration. He brings great joy to his people because of his service, being good, in his life.

This king is like the rain that fell on a large area, because he also leads a big country that has many people, in his life. That is why people tell him that, “my father’s ax splits the land.”

This riddle teaches people on how to have good understanding enough to listen to and understand their leaders well, so that they can live happily and peacefully in their jobs and lives.

Ikalagu yiniyo, yihoyelile jigila. Ilijigila ili numba ya ng’wa munhu uyo ojikilwa moyi. Inumba yiniyo ili ya bhulunga kele kunguno ulu munhu ucha utulwa mjigila na ufukilwa ibhizaga nduhu igiki agufuma. Ijigila jinijo jidalanshosha umunhu uyo ojikagwa moyi ng’wunuyo. Hunagwene abhanhu bhagiganilaga giki, “agunsolaga alu gunshosha nduhu.”

Ikalagu yiniyo, igalenganijiyagwa kuli munhu uyo agasolaga jikolo ya bhiye ogajikalana bho nduhu ugujishosha mpaga winga kuwelelo. Umunhu ng’wunuyo, agiyibhaga ugubhitila ya wiza abhiye iya gubhashokeja ijikola jabho jinijo ulu bhangunana, kunguno ya gwiganika giki adalacha umukikalile kakwe. Uweyi agabhapambulaga abhiye ugungunana hangi ijikolo jabho ulu obhalanda kunguno ya bhujidashosha bhokwe bhunubho, umukikalile kakwe.

Umunhu ng’wunuyo, agikolaga ni jigila ijo jidabhashoshaga abho bhajikilwa moyi, kunguno nuweyi adajishoshaga ijikolo ja bhiye ijo agalandaga umuwikaji bhokwe. Hunagwene abhanhu bhagang’wilaga giki, “agunsolaga alu gunshosha nduhu.”

ANAMCHUKUA LAKINI KUMRUDISHA HAKUNA – KABURI.

Kitendawili hicho, chaongelea kaburi. Kaburi hilo ni nyumba ya mtu aliyezikwa humo. Nyumba hiyo ni ya milele kwa sababu mtu akifa akawekwa kaburini na kufukiwa huwa harudi.

Kaburi hilo halimrudishi mtu huyo aliyezikwa ndani yake kwa sababu lenyewe huchukuwa moja kwa moja. Ndiyo maana watu huhadithiana kwamba, “anamchukua lakini kumrudisha hakuna – kaburi.”

Kitendawili hicho, hulinganishwa kwa mtu yule ambaye huchukua vitu vya wenzake na kukaa navyo bila kuvirudisha mpaka kufa kwake. Mtu huyo, hujisahau kuwatendea mema wenzake wanaomwamini kwa kumpatia vitu vyao, kwa kuwarudishia vitu vyao hivyo, kwa sababu ya kufikiri kwamba hatakufa katika maisha yake. Yeye huwaogopesha wenzake kumsaidia vitu vyao tena kwa sababu ya kutokurudisha kwake vitu hivyo, maishani mwake.

Mtu huyo, hufanana na kaburi ambalo halimrudishi mtu yule aliyezikwa humo, kwa sababu naye huwa hurudishi vitu alivyoazima kutoka kwa wenzake, katika maisha yake. Ndiyo maana watu humwambia kwamba, “anamchukua lakini kumrudisha hakuna – kaburi.”

Kitendawili hicho, hufundisha watu juu ya kuwa na uaminifu wa kuwatendea wenzao mema kwa kuwarudishia vitu vyao vizuri, ili waweze kuaga dunia vizuri.

Ikalagu yiniyo yiholelile jilatu ja mabada. Amabada genayo jili jilatu ijo jigamanaga julila ukumashigina ulu munhu alisiminza uyo ajizwalile umumagulu gakwe. Umugulila chiniko jigabhizaga guti jilimkomeleja umunhu uyo ajizwalile ng’wunuyo. Hunagwene abhanhu bhaganilaga giki, “ulu nagusimizaga jilinikomeleja uko numa – mabada.”

Ikalagu yiniyo, igalenganijiyagwa kuli munhu uyo agazwalaga jizwalo jikujo ijo jigankomelejaga gutumama milimo yakwe chiza. Umunhu ng’wunuyo, adebhile ugutumama imilimo yakwe chiza bho gubhakomeleja abhanhu bhakwe gwikala na jitumamilo ja wiza umumilimo yabho. Uweyi agapandikaga sabho ningi kunguno ya gutumamila jitumamilo ijo jigabhakomeleja abhanhu gutumama milimo yabho chiza.

Umunhu ng’wunuyo, agikolaga na mabada ayo gankomeleja ugusiminza uyo aliagazwalie, kunguno nuweyi agatumamilaga jitumamila ijo jigang’winhaga bhukamu bho gutumama milimo yakwe chiza. Hunagwene agayombaga giki, “ulu nagumimizaga jilinikomeleja uko numa.”

Ikalagu yiniyo, yalanga bhanhu higulya ya gutumamila milimo yabho na jitumamilo jiikujo ija gubhinha bhukamu bho gutumama milimo yabho chiza, kugiki bhadule gupandika sabho ja gubhambilija chiza, umuwikaji bhobho.

NINAPOTEMBEA HUNIHIMIZA KWA NYUMA – KANDA MBILI.

Kitendawili hicho, huongelea kanda mbili. Kanda mbili hizo ni viatu ambavyo huwa vinatoa mlio kwenye visigino vya mtu aliyevivaa miguuni mwake. Mlimo huo huwa kama vina mhimiza mtu huyo aliyevivaa. Ndiyo maana watu husema kwamba, “ninapotembea hunihimiza kwa nyuma – kanda mbili.”

Kitendawili hicho, hulinganishwa kwa mtu yule ambaye huvaa mavazi ya heshima yamhimizayo kufanya kazi zake vizuri, katika maisha yake. Mtu huyo, afahamu kutekeleza vizuri kazi zake kwa kuwahimiza watu wake kuwa na vitendea kazi vizuri. Yeye hupata mali nyingi katika kazi na familia yake kwa sababu ya kutumia vitendea kazi vinavyowahimiza watu kufanya kazi zao vizuri.

Mtu huyo, hufanana na kanda mbili zilizomhimiza mtu aliyekuwa amezivaa, kwa sababu naye hutumia vitendea kazi viwahimizao watu wake kufanya kazi vizuri. Ndiyo maana husema kwamba, “ninapotembea hunihimiza kwa nyuma – kanda mbili.”

Kitendawili hicho, hufundisha watu juu ya kutumia vitendea kazi vizuri viwahimizavyo kufanya kazi zao vizuri ili waweze kupata mali za kuwasaidia vizuri maishani mwao.

WHEN I WALK, ONE ENCOURAGES ME FROM BEHIND – SANDALS.

The above riddle speaks of sandals. Those sandals are shoes that make noise on the heels of the person who wears them on his feet. Such kind of noise appear as if it encourages the person is wearing those sandals. That is why such person says that, “when I walk, one encourages me from behind – sandals.”

This paradox is compared to the person who wears respectable clothing that encourages him to do his work well, in life. Such person knows how to perform his duties well by encouraging his people to have good working tools. He gets a lot of wealth in his works at the family because of using tools that encourage people to do their jobs well.

This person is similar to the sandals that encouraged the person who was wearing them, because he also uses tools that encourage his people to work well. That is why they say that, “when I walk, one encourages me from behind – sandals.”

This riddle teaches people about using good tools that encourage them to do their jobs well so that they can get enough assets to help them well in their lives.
