KISWAHILI: NJOO NAYO MAWILI.

ENGLISH: COME WITH BOTH TWO.

This saying talks about the request of something for someone. There was a man who went to ask his neighbor for a hoe with the idea of getting one without missing because of the understanding they had between him and the neighbor.

But then when he arrived at the family, he missed the hoe because the people there had gone to work with all hoes. When he missed, he understood that, well, the applicant can get or miss. That is why people told him that, “come with both two.”

This saying is compared to the person who plans his work without involving God who completes it all. Such person does his work by planning for himself without relying on God’s plan because of his lack of faith in his Creator. He fails to succeed in his works because of the lack of God’s help who can give him all that success in his life.

This person is like the one who went to borrow something hoping to get it but failed, because he also does his work independently without involving God in his work. That is why people told him that, “come with both two.”

This saying teaches people about understanding and fulfilling God’s plan by relying on Him in the implementation of their responsibilities, so that they can get the Blessings of being successful in their work and living well with their nobles in their lives.
