Akahayile kenako kalolile bhushemi bho mbogo bho ng’wa munhu nhebhe. Imbogo ili ndimu nhaale iyo igikalaga ng’wipolu niyo ili nhali gete.

KISWAHILI: MTU MKUBWA ANAMKAMUA NYATI!

Msemo huo huongelea ukamuaji wa nyati wa mtu fulani. Nyati ni myama mkubwa anayeishi porini tena ni mkali sana. Alikuwepo mtu aliyekuwa akijaribu kufanya mambo makubwa maishani mwake, kwa sababu ya nguvu zake. Mtu huyo alijaribu kumkamua huyo Nyati ambaye alimkurupusha mwanadamu huyo mpaga karibu ya kumuua kwa sababu ya uthubutu wake huo wa kujaribu hata kile kinachozidi uwezo wake. Ndiyo maana watu walimshangaa kwa kumwambia kwamba, “mtu mkubwa anamkamua nyati!”

Msemo huo hulinganishwa kwa mtu yule ambaye huanza kufanya kazi ambazo hana uwezo nayo, katika maisha yake. Mtu huyo, huanza kufanya kazi zake bila kufikiria vizuri kwanza kabla hajaanza kuzitekeleza kwa sababu ya kujidai kwake kuwa na nguvu. Yeye hushindwa kuzimaliza kazi zake kwa sababu ya kuanza kuzitekeleza kwake huko bila kufikiria vizuri kwanza, maishani mwake.

Mtu huyo hufanana na yule aliyejaribu kumkamua nyati akashindwa, kwa sababu naye hushindwa kuzimaliza kazi anazozianzisha bila kufikiri kwanza vizuri, katika utekelezaji wa majukumu yake hayo. Ndiyo maana watu humshangaa kwa kumwambia kwamba, “mtu mkubwa anamkamua nyati!”

Msemo huo hufundisha watu juu ya kutekeleza kazi wanazoziweza kwa kufikiria vizuri kwanza kabla hawajanza kuzifanya, ili waweze kupata mafanikio mengi, maishani mwao.

ENGLISH: A BIG MAN IS MILKING A BUFFALO!

This saying refers a someone how was milking a buffalo. The buffalo is a large animal that lives in the wild and is very fierce. There was a man who was trying to do great things in his life, because of his strength. He tried to milk the Buffalo which attached him near to death because of his determination of trying even what was beyond his ability. That is why people surprised him by telling him that, “a big man is milking a buffalo!”

This saying is compared to a person who starts doing tasks that he is not capable of, in his life. Such person, begins to do his work without thinking well first before he begins to implement it because of his self-assertion to be strong. He fails to complete his tasks because of doing them without researching or thinking well first, in his life.

This person is similar to the one who tried to milk a buffalo and failed, because he also fails to finish the tasks which he starts without thinking first in his duties. That is why people surprise him by telling him that, “a big man milks a buffalo!”

This saying installs in people an idea of performing tasks that they are capable of by thinking well first before doing them, so that they can get a lot of successes, in their lives.

Aho bhamhona uninabho bhuhugana mpaga bhandya guyiyunga sagala kunguno ya jito jabho jinijo. Hunagwene abhanhu bhagayomba giki, “abhenabho b’azumilwa mbesele.”

Akahahile kenako kagalenganijiyagwa kubhanhu abho b’agakilanijiaga malagilo ayo b’aginagwa na bhabyaji bhabho umukikalile kabho. Abhanhu bhenabho, b’agikalaga na nhinda ja gubhadalahija abhatale bhabho ulu bhabha wila mhayo kunguno ya nhinda jabho jinijo. Abhoyi b’agapandikaga makoye mingi umuwikaji bhobho kunguno ya bhujidigwa bhobho bhunubho, umuwikaji bhobho.

KISWAHILI: HAO WAMELANIWA KABISA.

Walikuwepo wanaume ambao waliingia kwenye chumba cha mama yao ambacho hawakuruhusiwa kuingia humo. Walipoingia walimkuta mama yao akiwa uchi kwa sababu hakufahamu kwamba wataingia. Wao walipomuona walichanganyikiwa mpaka wakaanza kudhurura hovyo kwa sababu ya kitendo chao hicho walichokifanya. Ndiyo maana watu waliwaambia kwamba, “hao wamelaniwa kabisa.”

Msemo huo hulinganishwa kwa watu wale ambao hawayajali maagizo ya wazazi wao, katika maisha yao. Watu hao huwa na kiburi ya kuwadharau wakubwa wao wanapowaambia neno fulani kwa sababu ya kiburi chao hicho. Wao hupata matatizo mengi katika familia zao kwa sababu ya kuyavunja maagizo yale wanayopewa na wazazi wao, maishani mwao.

Watu hao hufanana na wale walioingia kwenye chumba cha mama yao ambacho walikatazwa kuingia, kwa sababu nao huyavunja maagizo yale wanayoambiwa na wakubwa wao. Ndiyo maana watu huwaambia kwamba, “hao wamelaniwa kabisa.”

Msemo huo, hufundisha watu juu ya kuyaishi vizuri maagizo ya wazazi wao kwa kuwatunza vizuri katika utekelezaji wa majukumu yao, ili waweze kuishi salama, maishani mwao.

ENGLISH: THEY ARE COMPLETELY CURSED.

There were men who entered their mother’s room in which they were prohibited. After entering, they found their mother naked because she did not know that they would enter in. When they saw her, they were confused until they started harming her because of what they did. That is why people told them that, “they are completely cursed.”

This saying is compared to people who do not care about instructions of their parents, in their lives. Those people are proud by despising their superiors who warn them because of their pride. They consequently get many problems in their families because of breaking instructions which given to them by their parents, in their lives.

These people are like those who entered their mother’s room which they were forbidden to be in, because they also break the instructions given to them by their superiors. That is why people tell them that, “they are completely cursed.”

This saying teaches people on how to put into practice instructions of their parents by taking good care of them in fulfilling their responsibilities, so that they can live safely, in their lives.

KISWAHILI: MTAFUTIA WACHUNGAJI.

Alikuwepo mtu aliyeishi kwenye kijiji cha Masanga. Mtu huyo alienda kutafuta chakula sehemu za mbali wakati wa kipindi cha njaa. Yeye alipata chakula akakileta nyumbani kwake ili watu wake wapate kula na kuwafunguliwa mifuga kwenda kuwachunga kwa sababu ilikuwa vigumu kwenda kuchunga bila kula chakula. Hao wachungaji walipokula walienda kuwachunga hao mifugo. Ndiyo maana watu hao walimuita jila la “Mtafutia wachungaji.”

Msemo huo hulinganishwa kwa mtu yule ambaye huijali vizuri familia yake kwa kuitafutia chakula katika maisha yake. Mtu huyo, hujibidisha kufanya kazi ambazo humpatia chakula cha kutosha kuwalisha watu wake kwa sababu ya upendo alionao kwa watu wake hao. Yeye hupata mazao mengi kwenye familia yake kwa sababu ya kujibidisha kwake kufanya kazi zake.

Mtu huyo hufanana na yule aliyeenda kuitafutia chakula familia yake na kuiletea alipokipata, kwa sababu naye hujibidisha kufanya kazi vizuri mpaka anapata chakula cha kutosha kuwalisha watu wake. Ndiyo maana watu walimuita jila la “mtafutia wachungaji.”

Msemo huo, hufundisha watu juu ya kuzitunza vizuri familia zao kwa kufanya kwa bidii na kuwapatia chakula watu wao, ili waweze kuishi kwa furaha maishani mwao.

ENGLISH: SEEKER OF SHEPHERDS.

There was a man who lived in the village of Masanga. He went to look for food in distant places during the period of famine. He found and brought it to his house so that his people could eat and let the herdsmen go to herd their livestock because it was difficult to do so without eating food. When the shepherds ate they went to take care of their livestock. That is why those people named him as a “Seeker of shepherds.”

This saying is compared to the person who takes good care of his family by finding food for them in his life. Such person, tries to work so as to get enough food to feed his people because he loved them. He got a lot of produce for his family because of his hard working activities.

This person is like the one who went to find food for his family and brought it when he found it, because he also has to work hard until he gets enough food to feed his people. That is why people named him as the “Seeker of shepherds.”

This saying teaches people on how take good care of their families by working hard enough to provide them with food for their people, so that they can live happily in their lives.

KISWAHILI: AMEMFUNGIA MTU FUNDO.

Kumbe watu wamemuona alipokua akilifunga fundo kwenye konna ya nguo hiyo. Ndiyo maana watu hao walimwambia kwamba, “amemfungia mtu fundo.”

Msemo huo, hulinganishwa kwa mtu yule ambaye huwa amemkasirikia mtu aliyemkosea katika maisha yake. Mtu huyo, humkasilikia yule aliyemkosea kwa sababu ya kushindwa kumsamehe hali ambayo humpelekea kutaka kulipa kisasi. Yeye hukosana na watu wengi kwa sababu ya kukataa kusamehe kwake wale waliomkosea, maishani mwake.

Mtu huyo, hufanana na yule aliyefunga fundo kwenye kona ya nguo ya mwenzake, kwa sababu naye huwakasilikia wale waliomkosea katika maisha yake. Ndiyo maana watu humwambia kwamba, “amemfungia mtu fundo.”

Msemo huo hufundisha watu juu ya kuwa na moyo wa kusameheana pale wanapokoseana, ili waweze kuzilea familia zao kwa kuishi vizuri, maishani mwao.

ENGLISH: HE HAS TIED SOMEONE A KNOT.

This saying refers to the tying of someone’s knot. There was the man who took his friend’s clothes and tied a knot in the corner of the clothes, thinking that people had not seen him. But people have seen him growing up tying such knot in the corner of such dress. That is why they told him that, “he has tied someone a knot.”

This saying is compared to the person who easily becomes angry with another one who wronged him in his life. Such person becomes angry with the one who wronged him because of his inability to forgive others, which leads him to want to take revenge. He conflicts with many people because of his refusal to forgive those who wronged him, in his life.

This person is like the one who tied a knot in the corner of his friend’s clothes, because he is also angry with those who wronged him in his life. That is why people tell him that, “he has tied someone a knot.”

This saying teaches people on how have a heart of forgiving each other when they wrong each other, so that they can raise their families by living well, in their lives.

KISWAHILI: KUMPA MTU UTOTOLE.

Utotole ni kitu kile anachoomba mtu yule aliyekuokotea kitu chako ulichopeza. Hiyo ni zawadi ya mtu aliyeokota kitu kilichopotea. Ndiyo maana watu hukubali “kumpa mtu utotole.”

Msemo huo hulinganishwa kwa mtu yule ambaye ni mwaminifu kwa wenzake katika maisha yake. Mtu huyo, huwatunzia wenzake mali zao kwa sababu ya uaminifu wake huo. Yeye huwafundisha pia watu wake tabia njema za kutoa shukrani kwa wenzao wanaowatendea mema, maishani mwao.

Mtu huyo hufanana na yule aliyempatia zawadi mtu yule aliyemuokotea kitu chake, kwa sababu naye huwapatia zawadi wale wanaomtendea mema, maishani mwake. Ndiyo maana hupenda “kumpa mtu utotole.”

Msemo huo, hufundisha watu juu ya kuwa na uaminifu wa kuwatunzia watu mali zao na kutoa shukrani kwa wale wanaowatendea mema, ili waweze kuzilea vizuri familia zao, maishani mwao.
