1235. UNENE NANYIKILAGA.

Olihoyi munhu uyo wikalaga muchalo jilebhe. Umunhu ng’wunuyo, agingila gulala umuchumba jakwe, kugiki adule gwifula. Aliyo lulu, bhagiza bhanhu bhumisha kugiki adule gubhambilija umumakoye gabho. Uweyi agalema ugujileka itulo jakwe bho guyomba giki, olalaga. Hunagwene agayomba giki, “unene nanyikilaga.” Ugunyikila hugulala tulo.

Akahayile kenako, kagalenganijiyagwa kuli munhu uyo adabhambilija chiza abhiye abho walina makoye, umukikalile kakwe. Umunhu ng’wunuyo, adabhadililaga abhiye umutumami bho milimo yakwe kunguno ya bhudoshi bho gwimana weyi duhu, umuwikaji bhobho bhunubho. Uweyi agagawiyigwa abhanhu abha gwikala nanghwe akaya yakwe yiniyo, kunguno ya bhudoshi bhokwe bhunubho, ubhogwidilila wei duhu bho nduhu ugubhadilila abhiye, umukikalile kakwe kenako.

Umunhu ng’wunuyo, agikolaga nuyo agelema gumishiwa na bhiye abho bhacholaga wambilijiwa, kunguno nuweyi agikalaga wimanile weyi duhu bho nduhu ugubhambilija abhiye abho bhali na makoye, umuwikaji bhokwe. Hunagwene agayombaga giki, “unene nanyikilaga.”

Akahayile kenako, kalanga bhanhu higulya ya kubhadilila chiza abhanhu abho bhali na makoye bho gubhambilija, kugiki bhadule gwikala na bhuyegi, umukaya jabho.

KISWAHILI: MIMI NIMELALA.

Alikuwepo mtu aliyeishi kwenye kijiji fulani. Mtu huyo, aliingia kulala chumbani mwake, kwa lengo la kupumzika. Lakini watu waliokuwa na shida walimwendea na kumwamusha ili awasaidie katika shida yao. Yeye alikataa kuuacha usingizi wake, akisema kuwa, amelala. Ndiyo maana alisema kwamba, “mimi nimelala.”

Msemo huo, hulinganishwa kwa mtu yule ambaye huwa hasaidii vizuri wenzake walioko kwenye matatizo, katika maisha yake. Mtu huyo, huwa hawajali wenzake waomwendea wakiomba msaada wa kusaidiwa kutatua matatizo yao, kwa sababu ya majivuno yake ya kujijali yeye wenyewe tu, maishani mwake. Yeye hukosa watu wa kuishi naye kwenye familia yake hiyo kwa sababu ya kujijali mwenyewe bila kuwasaidia wenzake walio na matatizo, katika maisha yake.

Mtu huyo, hufanana na yule aliyejali usingizi wake kwa kukataa kuwasaidia wale waliokuwa na matatizo, kwa sababu naye huwa hawasaidii watu walioko kwenye matatizo, maishani mwake. Ndiyo  maana husema kwamba, “mimi nimelala.”

Msemo huo, hufundisha watu juu ya kuwasaidia wenzao walioko kwenye matatizo, kwa kuwajali vizuri, ili waweze kuishi kwa furaha katika familia zao, maishani mwao.

ENGLISH: I HAVE SLEPT.

There was a man who lived in a certain village. He went to sleep in his room, with an aim of resting. But people who were in problems came to him and asked him to help them in their anxiety. He refused to give up his sleep, saying that he was asleep. That is why he said, “I have slept.”

This saying is compared to a person who does not help well his colleagues who are in tribulations in his life. Such person does not care about his colleagues who come to him asking for help in solving their problems, because of his pride in only caring about himself, in his life. He misses people who can live with in his family because of taking care of himself without helping his colleagues who have problems in their lives.

This person resembles the one who cared about his sleep by refusing to help those who had problems, because he also does not help people who are in problems in his life. That is why he says, “I have slept.”

This saying teaches people about helping their fellows who are in problems, by taking good care of them, so that they can live happily in their families, in their lives.

Imbuki ya Lusumo lunulo, ihoyelile munhu uyo uliwingila gukano. Ugukano kunuko ili gwigulya uko bhanhu bhagatulaga ginhu giti mandege, Nhalanga, Nhumbu na jingi jingi ijo jilijawiza, umunumba yiniyo.

Umunhu ng’wunuyo, agalinha mpaga ushiga ukuginhu ijawiza jinijo umugati ya numba yiniyo. Giko lulu, uweyi agaja kuwiza kunguno jilinduhu ijagulula koyi. Hunagwene abhanhu bhaganyomba giki, “ung’wene wingila gukano.”

Ulusumo lunulo, lugalenganijiyagwa kuli munhu uyo osabha sabho ningi umukikalile kakwe. Umunhu ng’wunuyo, agigulambijaga gutumama milimo yakwe bho bhukamu bhutale mpaga osabha sabho ningi kunguno ya wiyumilija bhokwe ubho gutumama milimo chiza na witegeleja bhutale, umuwikaji bhokwe. Uweyi agasabhaga majikolo mingi noyi aha kaya yakwe yiniyo kunguno ya gwigulambija gutumama milimo yakwe chiza na bho wiyumilija bhutale bhunubho, umukikalile kakwe.

Umunhu ng’wunuyo, agikolaga nuyo agingila gukano uko bhuli uwiza bho majikolo mingi, kunguno nuweyi agigulambijaga gutumama milimo yakwe chiza mpaga osabha majikolo mingi, umuwikaji bhokwe bhunubho. Hunagwene abhanhu bhaganyombaga giki, “ung’wene wingila gukano.”

KISWAHILI: HUYO AMEINGIA DARINI.

Chanzo cha methali hiyo huangalia mtu aliyeingia darini. Dari ni juu ambako watu huweka vitu kama mahindi, karanga, viazi na vingine vingi vilivyo vizuri ndani ya nyumba hiyo.

Mtu huyo alipanda mpaga juu ndani ya nyumba hiyo, viliko vitu hivyo vizuri. Hivyo basi, yeye aliingia kwenye uzuri kwa sababu hakuna kinachokosekana huko. Ndiyo maana watu walimuongelea kwamba, “huyo ameingia darini.”

Methali hiyo, hulinganishwa kwa mtu yule aliyetajirika kwa kupata mali nyingi, katika maisha yake. Mtu huyo, hujibidisha kufanya kazi kwa bidii kubwa na umakini mkubwa, maishani mwake. Yeye hupata mali nyingi sana kwenye familia yake hiyo kwa sababu ya bidii yake ya kufanya kazi vizuri na kwa uvumilifu wa hali ya juu, katika maisha yake.

Mtu huyo, hufanana na yule aliyeingia darini kwenye uzuri wa vitu vingi, kwa sababu naye ametajirika kwa kujibidisha kufanya kazi mpaka akapata mali nyingi, maishani mwake. Ndiyo maana watu humuongelea kwamba, “huyo ameingia darini.”

Methali hiyo, hufundisha watu juu ya kujibidisha kufanya kazi zao vizuri na kwa uvumilivu mkubwa mpaka wapate mali nyingi za kutoka kutumia katika familia zao, ili waweze kuziendeleza vizuri familia zao hizo, maishani mwao.

ENGLISH: THAT ONE HAS ENTERED THE CEILING.

This proverb looks at a person who entered the ceiling. The ceiling is a high place where people put things like corn, peanuts, potatoes and many other things that are good in the house.

This man climbed up into the house, where the things are good. So, he entered the beauty. That is why people said about him that, “that one has entered the ceiling.”

This proverb is related to a person who got rich by getting a lot of wealth, in his life. Such person works with great effort and great attention, in his life. He gets a lot of wealth in his family because of his hard working and great patience in his life.

This person is similar to the one who entered the ceiling in the beauty of many things, because he has also become rich by having to work until he got a lot of wealth in his life. That is why people talk about him saying, “that one has entered the ceiling.”

This proverb imparts in people an idea of working hard in doing their jobs well and with great patience until they get a lot of wealth for using in their families, so that they can develop their families well in their lives.

Olihoyi munhu uyo wikalaga muchalo jilebhe. Umunhu ng’wunuyo, oipandaga isii bho nguvu noyi kunguno ya gulya jiliwa mpaga wiguta noyi. Uweyi wiganikaga giki adalacha na gujikwa umugati ya sii iyo ayipandaga yiniyo, kunguno ya lwiguto lokwe lunulo. Hunagwene abhanhu bhagang’wila giki, “mpandage aliyo agugulya.”

Akahayile kenako, kagalenganijiyagwa kuli munhu nsabhi uyo agiganikaga giki adalacha, umukikalile kakwe. Umunhu ng’wunuyo, agajisanyaga isabho jakwe bho gwita mihayo iyo atogilwe weyi umusii ng’wenumu, kunguno ya bhudoshi bho gwiganika giki isabho jigung’wingija pye amakoye mpaka nu lufu, umuwikaji bhokwe, bhunubho. Uweyi agadumaga uguilela chiza ikaya yakwe kunguno ya gwisanya sabho jakwe bho gwita mihayo iyo atogilwe weyi, umukikalile kakwe kenako.

Umunhu ng’wunuyo, agikolaga nuyo agiguta jiliwa uipanda isii bho nguzu, kunguno nuweyi agajisanyaga isabho jakwe bho gwita mihayo iyo atogilwe weyi umusii guti giki adalacha, umuwikaji bhokwe. Hunagwene abhanhu bhagang’wilaga giki, “mpandage aliyo agugulya.”

Akahayile kenako, kalanga bhanhu higulya ya gwita mihayo ya wiza umusi hayo ingelelo yabho idinashiga, kunguno bhuli ng’wene alina ngelelo yakwe, kugiki bhadule gujilela chiza ikaya jabho, umubhulamu bhobho bhunubho.

KISWAHILI: MKANYAGE LAKINI ATAKULA.

Alikuwepo mtu aliyekuwa akiishi kwenye kijiji fulani. Mtu huyo, alikuwa akiikanyaga ardhi kwa nguvu sana kwa sababu ya kula chakula mpaka akashiba sana. Yeye alikuwa akifikiri kwamba hatakufa na kuzikwa ndani ya ardhi hiyo aliyokuwa akiikanyaga kwa sababu ya kushiba kwake chakula alichokula. Ndiyo maana watu walimwambia kwamba, “mkanyage lakini atakula.”

Msemo huo, hulinganishwa kwa mtu tajiri ambaye hufikiria kwamba, hatakufa, katika maisha yake. Mtu huyo, huutegemea utajiri wa wali zake katika kutatua matatizo yake yote kwa kufanya atakalo yeye kwa sababu ya majivuno ya kuufikiria utajiri wake kwamba utamwondolea matatizo yote hata kumzuia kufa, maishani mwake. Yeye hushindwa kuilea vyema familia yake kwa sababu ya kutegemea mali zake hizo kwa kuzifikiria kama mtatuzi wa matatizo yake yote, katika maisha yake.

Mtu huyo, hufanana na yule aliyeshiba chakula mpaka akaanza kuikanyaga ardhi kwa mguvu, kwa sababu naye huutegemea utajiri wa mali zake mpaka anafanya anachotaka hapa duniani kama kwamba, hatakufa, maishani mwake. Ndiyo maana watu humwambia kwamba, “mkanyage lakini atakula.”

Msemo huo, hufundisha watu juu ya kutenda matendo mema hapa duniani kabla ya kufika mwisho wao, kwa sababu kila mmoja ana mwisho wake, ili waweze kuzilea vyema familia zao, wakati wa uhai wao wote.

ENGLISH: TREAD IT BUT IT WILL EAT YOU.

There was a man who lived in a certain village. Such man was treading the ground very hard because of eating food until he was very full. He was thinking that he will not die and be buried in the ground which he was treading. That is why people told him that, “Tread it but it will eat you.”

This saying is equaled to a rich man who thinks that he will not die in his life. Such person depends on the wealth of his parents in solving all his problems by doing what he wants because of thinking that his wealth will remove all problems and even prevent him from dying in his life. He fails to raise his family well because of relying on his possessions by thinking of them as the solution to all his problems, in his life.

This person resembles the one who ate food until he began to tread the ground with strength, because he also depends on the wealth of his possessions until he does what he wants in this world as if he will not die. That is why people tell him that, “Tread it but it will eat you.”

This saying imparts in people an idea about doing good deeds on this world before reaching their end, because everyone has his/her end, so that they can raise their families well, during their whole lives.

Umunhu ng’wunuyo, oyelaga na nanha gokwe go guntulila uluumona uyo annebhije amasala kunguno ya miganiko gakwe ayo galigantuula chiniko. Uweyi agakumuka noyi umuchalo jakwe kunguno ya kikalile kakwe kenako. Hunagwene abhanhu bhagayung’witana giki, “jidumula bhabodo.”

Akahayile kenako, kagalengijiyagwa kuli munhu uyo agabhibhonelaga abhanhu abho bhali na masala magehu, umukikalile kakwe. Umunhu ng’wunuyo, agabhibhonelaga abhanhu abho bhali na masala magehu uko alibhitila kunguno ya bhudoshi bhokwe bhunubho, umuwikaji bhokwe. Uweyi agapandikaga mamihayo mingi aha kaya yakwe yiniyo, kunguno ya wibhoneji bhokwe bhunubho, umuwikaji bhokwe.

Umunhu ng’wunuyo, agikolaga nuyo obhatulaga abhanhu abho abhalebhije amasala, kunguno nuweyi agabhibhonelaga abhanhu abha masala magehu umuwikaji bhokwe. Hunagwene abhanhu bhang’witanaga giki, “jidumula bhabodo.”

Akahayile kenako, kalanga bhanhu higulya ya kuleka gubhibhonela abhanhu abho bhadidujije umumasala gabho, bho gubhambilija chiza, kugiki bhadule gupandika mbango ja gwikala chiza na bhichabho, umukaya jabho.

Chanzo cha msemo huo, huongelea mtu yule aliyekuwa akiwapiga watu aliowazidi akili. Mtu huyo, alikuwa akitembea na fimbo ya kuwapigia watu hao aliowazidi akili kwa sababu ya mawazo yake kumtuma kufanya hivyo. Yeye alijulikana sana katika kijiji chake kwa sababu ya maisha yake hayo. Ndiyo maana watu walimuita jina la “mgiga wenye akili pungufu.”

Msemo huo, hulinganishwa kwa mtu yule ambaye huwaonea watu wenye akili pungufu, katika maisha yake. Mtu huyo, huwaonea watu hao wenye akili pungufu anakotembelea kwa sababu ya majivuno yakwe ya kuwadharau watu hao, maishani mwake. Yeye hupata matatizo ya kusumbulia na kesi nyingi kwenye familia yake hiyo kwa sababu ya kuwaonea watu hao wasiona hatia, maishani mwake.

Mtu huyo, hufanana na yule aliyewapiga watu aliowazidi akili, kwa sababu naye huwaonea watu walio na akili pungufu, katika maisha yake. Ndio maana watu humuita jina la “mgiga wenye akili pungufu.”

Msemo huo, hufundisha watu juu ya kuacha kuwaonea watu wasiojiweza maishani mwao, kwa kuwasaidia vizuri watu hao, ili waweze kupata Baraka za kuishi kwa amani na wenzao, katika familia, zao.

ENGLISH: A HITTER OF THOSE WHO HAVE LESS INTELLIGENCE.

The source of this saying speaks of the person who used to beat people who were out of their mind. Such man walked with a stick for hitting those people because of his thoughts that caused him to do so. He was well known in his village because of such behavior. That is why people called him “a hitter of those who have less intelligence.”

This saying is compared to a person who oppresses the mentally retarded ones in his life. Such person treats those people who have are slow in thinking where he visits because of his pride. He gets many problems and lawsuits in his family because of oppressing those innocent people in his life.

This person is similar to the one who beat people who had less intelligent, because he also oppresses people who are slow in thinking in his life. That is why people call him “a hitter of those who have less intelligence.”

This saying teaches people to stop oppressing the less fortunate ones in their lives, by helping them well, so that they can receive blessings of living in peace with their people in their families.

Imbuki ya kahayile kenako, ilolile munhu uyo ofulaga mhembe. Umunhu ng’wunuyo, oifulaga imhembe yiniyo pye amakanza, nose abhiye bhoya ugutogwa kunguno obhayoganijaga noyi. Abhanhu bhenabho bhagayung’wila giki agehye nulu aleke uguifula imhembe yakwe yiniyo. Hunagwene bhagang’wila giki, “gehyaga (lekaga) imhembe.”

Akahayile kenako, kagalenganijiyagwa kuli munhu uyo agikalaga uyomba mihayo iyo idinasolobho, umukikalile kakwe. Umunhu ng’wunuyo, agayombaga bhuli mhayo bho nduhu ugugwikanika chiza isolobho yago, kunguno ya gugayiwa witegeleja, umumahoya gakwe genayo. Uweyi agagaiyagwa abhanhu bha guhoya nanghwe kunguno ya guyomba mihayo iyo idinasolobho yiniyo, umumahoya gakwe genanyo.

Umunhu ng’wunuyo, agikolaga nuyo agabhayoganijaga abhiye bho gufula mhembe yakwe, kunguno nuweyi agayomba mihayo iyo idinasolobho, umumahoya gakwe genayo. Hunagwene abhanhu bhagang’wilaga giki, “gehyaga (lekaga) imhembe.”

Chanzo cha msemo huo, huangalia mtu anayepuliza filimbi. Mtu huyo, huipuliza filimbi hiyo muda wote mwishowe wenzake hukerwa na sauti hiyo kwa sababu ya kuwapigia kelele. Watu hao walianza kumwambia apunguze au aache kuipuliza filimbi hiyo. Ndiyo maana walimwambia kwamba, “punguza (acha) filimbi.”

Msemo huo, hulinganishwa kwa mtu yule ambaye huongea maneno yasiyo na faida, katika maisha yake. Mtu huyo, huongea kila neno linalomjia bila ya kulifikiria vizuri kuwa linafaida gani, kwa sababu ya kukosa umakini huo, katika maongezi yake. Yeye hukosa watu wa kuongea naye kwa sababu ya kukosa umakini huo katika maongezi yake.

Mtu huyo, hufanana na yule aliyewapigia kelele wenzake kwa kupuliza filimbi yake, kwa sababu naye huongea maneno yasiyo na faida, katika maongezi yake hayo. Ndiyo maana watu humwambia kwamba, “punguza (acha) filimbi.”

Msemo huo, hufundisha watu juu ya kuacha kuongea maneno yasiyo na faida maishani mwao, kwa kuyaongea yale yanayoweza kuwasaidia katika kujipatia maendeleo yao, ili waweze kuzilea vizuri familia zao.

ENGLISH: REDUCE (LEAVE) THE WHISTLE.

This saying looks at a person who blows a whistle. This person blows such whistle all the time and eventually his colleagues get annoyed by the sound that shouted at them. These people started telling him to slow down or stop blowing the whistle. That is why they told him that, “reduce (leave) the whistle.”

This saying is compared to the person who speaks useless words in his life. Such person speaks every word that comes to him without thinking about what it is good for, because of lacking focus in his speech. He misses people to talk to because of such lack of focus in his speech.

This person resembles the one who yelled at his colleagues by blowing his whistle, because he also speaks useless words in his speech. That is why people tell him that, “reduce (leave) the whistle.”

This saying teaches people to stop speaking useless words in their lives, by speaking those that can help them in their development, so that they can raise their families well.
