Akahayile kenako kahoyelile jisumva ijo jigingilaga mukaya bho nduhu ugulongiwa na bhinikili kaya yiniyo.  Ijisumva jinijo jili guti jilungu mifa, danga, nole, nulu jigona ijijigingilaga umukaya ijo jidalongiyagwa. Hunagwene abhanhu bhagayombaga giki, “ugeniha b’ugeni ugulonjiwa nduhu.”

Akahayile kenako kagalenganijiyagwa kuli munhu uyo adabhadililaga abhageni ulu bhizaga aha kaya yakwe, umukikalile kakwe. Umunhu ng’wunuyo, adabhadililaga abhageni abho bhagangenihaga bho nduhu agubhazugila ijiliwa aha kaya yakwe, kunguno ya wiminholo bhokwe bhunubho umuwikaji bhokwe. Uweyi agagayiyagwa imbango ja gwikala na bhuyegi aha kaya yakwe, kunguno ya gukija ugubhalonja abhageni abho bhangenihaga, umukikalile kakwe.

KISWAHILI: UMEENDA UGENINI LAKINI HAWAKUJALI.

Msemo huo huongelea viumbe wanaoingia nyumbani bila mwenye nyumba kuwajali. Viumbe hayo ni kama vile kilungu yeye, chura, mijusi, na wengine ambayo ni jamii ya hao ambao huingia kwenye nyumba ya mtu bila ya yeye kuwajali. Ndiyo maana watu husema kwamba, “umeenda ugenini lakini hawakujali.”

Msemo huo hulinganishwa kwa mtu yule ambaye hawajali wageni wanaomtembelea kwenye familia yake, katika maisha yake. Mtu huyo, huwa hawajali bhageni ambao humtembelea kuwaacha bila kuwapikia chakula kwenye familia yake, kwa sababu ya uchoyo wake huo maishani mwake. Yeye hukosa baraka za kuishi kwa furaha kwenye familia yake hiyo kwa sababu ya uchoyo wake huo wa kutowajali wageni wanaomtembelea, katika maisha yake hayo.

Mtu huyo hufanana na yule ambaye hakuwajali viumbe walioingia nyumbani kwake, kwa sababu naye hawajali wageni wanaomtembelea kwenye familia yake, maishani mwake. Ndiyo maana wageni hao husema kwamba, “umeenda ugenini lakini hawakujali.”

Msemo huo hufundisha watu juu ya kuwa na ukarimu wa kuwajali wageni wanaowatembelea nyumbani mwao, ili waweze kupata baraka za kuishi kwa furaha katika familia zao, maishani mwao.

ENGLISH: YOU HAVE BEEN A STRANGER BUT THEY DO NOT CARE YOU.

This saying refers to creatures which enter a house without the owner paying attention to them. These creatures are like deer, frogs, lizards, and others which are a type of those that enter a person’s house without him paying attention to them. That is why people say that, “you have been a stranger but they do not care you.”

This saying is equated to a person who does not care about guests who visit his family, in his life. Such person does not take care about visitors who visit him by leaving them without cooking food for them, because of his greed in his life. He misses blessings of living happily in his family because of his greed of not taking care about visitants who visit him in his life.

This person is like the one who did not care about the creatures that entered his house, because he also does not take care about guests who visit his family, in his life. That is why those guests say that, “you have been a stranger but they do not care you.”

This saying imparts in people an idea of being hospitable and considerate of strangers who visit their homes, so that they can experience blessings of living happily in their family lives.

Olihoyi munhu uyo wikalaga muchalo jilebhe. Umunhu ng’wunuyo oliobyalwa na jika ijo jaligungule ukungongo gokwe kunguno ya gubhumbwa chene. Uweyi obhizaga guti giki abhuchije ng’wana ukungongo gokwe gunuyo. Hunagwene abhanhu bhamelaga bho gung’wilaga giki, “ng’wichage ung’wana agugub’una.”

KISWAHILI: MSHUSHE MTOTO ATAKUCHOSHA.

Alikuwepo mtu aliyeishi katika kijiji fulani. Mtu huyo, alizaliwa akiwa na kilema kilichoinuka mgongoni mwake kwa sababu ya kuumbwa hivyo. Yeye alionekana kama amebeba mtoto mgongoni mwake. Ndiyo maana watu walimtania kwa kumwambia kwamba, “mshushe mtoto atakuchosha.”

Msemo huo, hulinganishwa kwa mtu aliye na majivuno ya kuwacheka watu wenye vilema, katika maisha yake. Mtu huyo, huwatesa vilema kwa kuwacheka kwa sababu ya majivuno yakwe hayo, maishani mwake. Yeye hukosa baraka za kuishi kwa furaha katika familia yake hiyo, kwa sababu ya majivuno yake hayo ya kuwacheka vilema, katika maisha yake hayo.

Mtu huyo, hufanana na wale waliomcheka yule aliyekuwa na kilema mgongoni mwake, kwa sababu naye huwacheka watu wenye vilema, maishani mwake. Ndiyo maana huwaambia kwamba, “mshushe mtoto atakuchosha.”

Msemo huo, hufundisha watu juu ya kuwa na tabia njema ya kuishi vizuri na watu walio na vilema, ili waweze kupata baraka za kuishi kwa furaha, katika familia zao, maishani mwao.

There was a man who lived in a certain village. Such man was born with a crippled back because of his birthmark. He looked like he was carrying a child on his back. That is why people joked about him by saying that, “Put the child down, you will be bored.”

This saying is compared to a person who is proud enough to laugh at people who have disabilities in his life. Such man tortures disabled ones by laughing at them because of his pride in his life. He misses blessings of living happily in his family because of his pride of laughing at the disabled ones in his life.

This man is like those who laughed at the man who had a crippled back because he also laughs at the disabled people in his life. That is why he says that, “Put the child down, you will be bored.”

Ikalagu yiniyo, igalenganijiyagwa kuli munhu uyo agagadimilaga chiza amalagilo ga bhatale bhakwe, umukikalile kakwe. Umunhu ng’wunuyo agagikalanaga amalagilo genayo bho gubhalanga abhanhu bhakwe gwikala chiza na bhichabho, kunguno ya bhutungilija bhokwe bhunubho, umuwikaji bhokwe. Uweyi agikalaga na bhuyegi bhutale aha kaya yakwe kunguno ya bhutungilija bhokwe bhunubho ubho gugikalana chiza amalagilo ga bhatale bhakwe bhenabho umukikalile kakwe kenako.

Umunhu ng’wunuyo, agikolaga numongo uyo gugajaga bhutongi bho nduhu ugushoka inuma, kunguno nuweyi agagikalanaga chiza amalagilo ga bhatale bhakwe umuwikaji bhokwe. Hunagwene abhanhu bhagang’wilaga giki, “osiminza noyi aliyo adulab’ulaga – Mongo.”

Ikalagu yiniyo, yalanga bhanhu higulya ya gub’iza na bhutungilija bho gugadimila chiza amalagilo ga ng’wa Umulungu, kugiki bhadule kupandika mpango ya gwikala na bhuyegi bho gubhashisha Ng’wigulu, umuwikaji bhobho bhunubho.

AMETEMBEA MNO LAKINI HAANGALII NYUMA – MTO.

Kitendawali hicho huongelea uendaji wa maji ya mto. Maji hayo ya mto huenda mbele tu kwa sababu ya kutokea mlimani kuelekea mtelemkoni. Yenyewe huwa hayarudi nyuma kwa sababu yanatokea mlimani kushuka chiza, siyo kupanda juu. Ndiyo maana watu huhadithiana kwamba, “ametembea mno lakini haangalii nyuma – mto.”

Kitendawili hicho hulinganishwa kwa mtu yule ambaye huyaiishi vizuri maagizo ya wakubwa wake, katika maisha yake. Mtu huyo, huyaishi maagizo hayo ya wakubwa wake kwa kuwafundisha watu wake namna ya kuishi vizuri na wenzao, kwa sababu ya uaminifu wake huo, maishani mwake. Yeye huishi kwa furaha kubwa katika familia yake kwa sababu ya uaminifu wake huo wa kuyaishi vizuri maagizo hayo ya wakubwa wake, katika maisha yake hayo.

Mtu huyo, hufanana na yale maji yaendayo mbele bila kurudi nyuma, kwa sababu naye huyaishi vizuri maagizo ya wakubwa wake, maishani mwake. Ndiyo maana watu humwambia kwamba, “ametembea mno lakini haangalii nyuma – mto.”

Kitendawili hicho, hufundisha watu juu ya kuwa na uaminifu wa kuyaishi vizuri maagizo ya Mungu, ili waweze kupata Baraka za kuishi kwa furaha ya kuwafikisha Mbinguni.

ENGLISH: I HAVE A RIDDLE – LET IT COME.

HE HAS WALKED A LOT BUT HE DOESN’T LOOK BACK – A RIVER.

This riddle talks about a movement of river water. This river water only moves forward because it comes from the mountain towards the slope. It itself never goes back because it comes from the mountain going down, not upwards. That is why people say that, “he has walked a lot but he does not look back – a river.”

This riddle is compared to a person who lives by observing instructions of his superiors in his life. This person puts into practices instructions of his superiors by teaching his people how to live well with their family members, because of his loyalty in life. He lives with great happiness in his family because of his loyalty to nicely living within the instructions of elders in his life.

This person is like that river water which moves forward without going back, because he also lives well the instructions of his directors in his life. That is why people say to him that, “He has walked far but he does not look back – a river.”

This riddle teaches people about being faithful enough to nicely live according to God’s commandments, so that they can receive blessings of living happily to the point of entering Heaven.

KISWAHILI: MCHEZO WA WATOTO VUMBI LA MBWA.

Watoto hucheza michezo yao kwa kutimua vumbi kama mchezo wa mbwa. Watoto hao hutimua vumbi kwa sababu huwa wanachezea mchanga au kitu kingine ukiwemo moto kwa sababu ya utoto wao huo. Ndiyo maana watu husema kwamba, “mchezo wa watoto vumbi la mbwa.”

Methali hiyo hulinganishwa kwa watu wale ambao hufanya kazi zao kitoto katika maisha yao. Watu hao hufanya kazi kidogo tu wanaanza kucheza mpaga wanashindwa kuzimaliza kazi zao, kwa sababu ya kujali maongezi yasiyo na faida wakati wa kufanya kazi, maishani mwao. Wao hukosa chakula katika familia zao kwa sababu ya utoto wao wa kushindwa kufanya kazi zao vizuri, maishani mwao.

Watu hao hufanana na watoto waliojali kucheza bila kufanya kazi, kwa sababu nao hujali maongezi wakati wa kazi mpaka wanashindwa kuzimaliza kazi zao, maishani mwao. Ndiyo maana watu huwaambia kwamba, “mchezo wa watoto vumbi la mbwa.”

Methali hiyo hufundisha watu juu ya kujali kazi zao kwa kuzitekeleza kwa bidii kubwa, ili waweze kupata mali za kutumia vizuri katika familia zao, maishani mwao.

Children play their games by kicking up dust like a game of dogs. These children kick up dust because they always play with sand or something else including fire because of their childhood. That is why people say that, “children’s game dog dust.”

This proverb is paralleled to people who do their works like a child in their lives. These people only work a little, they start playing around and fail to finish their works, because they care about useless conversations while working, in their lives. They lack food in their families because of their childhood of failing to nicely do their works in their lives.

These people resemble the children who cared about playing without working, because they also care about conversations while working until they fail to finish their works, in their lives. That is why people say to them that, “children’s game dog dust.”

This proverb clarifies in people an idea of taking care of their works by carrying them out with great diligence, so that they can obtain wealth to nicely use in their family lives.

Uweyi agayilelaga chiza ikaya yakwe kunguno ya widohya bhokwe ubho gwikala chiza na bhanhu bhakwe bhunubho, umukikalile kakwe.

Yeye huilea vyema familia yake kwa sababu ya unyenyekevu wake huo wa kuishi vizuri na watu wake, katika maisha yake.

Mtu huyo, hufanana na yule aliyeomba msamaha alipokosana na jirani yake, kwa sababu naye ana unyenyekevu wa kuomba msamaha kwa wenzake anakosana nao. Ndiyo maana husema kwamba, “nimepiga magoti nakufumba mikono.”

Msemo huo hufundisha watu juu ya kuwa na unyenyekevu wa kuishi na watu vizuri na kuomba msamaha kwa wenzao wanakosana, ili waweze kuzilea vyema familia zao, maishani mwao.

ENGLISH: I HAVE KNELT DOWN AND FOLDED MY HANDS.

There was a man who lived in the village of Wimate. This man had a fight with his neighbor because of evil argument. He decided to apologize to his neighbor. That is why he said that, “I have knelt down and folded my hands.”

This saying is related to a person who has humility to apologize when he makes a mistake in his life. Such person apologizes when he makes a mistake with his friends because of his humility to live well with his friends in his life. He takes virtuous care of his family because of his humility to live well with his people in his life.

This person is like the one who apologized when he made a mistake with his neighbor, because he also has the humility to apologize to his friends with whom he makes a mistake. That is why he says that, “I have knelt down and folded my hands.”

This saying teaches people about being humble by living well with people and asking for forgiveness from their earls who have differences, so that they can raise their families well, in their lives.
