1431. MUMO MUGINENEJA SUNZU.

Aho kale olihoyi munhu uyo olina masunzu malihu ukuntwe gokwe. Umunhu ng’wunuyo agayundalaha unhamla nu ngikulu uyo alina myaka mingi kunguno ya gulihya masunzu gakwe genayo. Uweyi agaduma ugwitegeleja chiza igiki abhanhu bhenabho bhabhona miito mingi amiza na mab’i umuwikaji bhobho bhunubho. Hunagwene abhanhu bhenabho bhagang’wila giki, “mumo mugineneja sunzu.”

Akahayile kenako kagalenganijiyagwa kuli munhu uyo agabhitilaga libhengwe abhatale bhakwe umukikalile kakwe. Umunhu ung’wunuyo, agitulaga bhumani bho guleka gubhadegeleka chiza abhatale bhakwe ulu bhalinanga kajile kawiza kunguno ya libhengwe yakwe linilo umuwikaji bhokwe. Uweyi agagayiyagwa ililange ilya guyilanhanila chiza ikaya yakwe kunguno ya libhengwe lwakwe linilo, ukubhatale bhakwe, umukikalile kakwe kenako.

KISWAHILI: HATA MUREFUSHE SINGA.

Hapo zamani alikuwepo mtu aliyerefusha singa kichwani mwake. Mtu huyo alimdharau mzee na bibi aliyeishi miaka mingi kwa sababu ya kurefusha singa zake hizo. Yeye alikosa umakini wa kuelewa mwamba wazee hao wameona matendo mengi mema na mabaya katika maisha yao. Ndiyo maana wazee hao walimwambia kwamba, “hata murefushe singa.”

Msemo huo hulinganishwa kwa mtu yule ambaye huwafanyia dharau wakubwa wake katika maisha yake. Mtu huyo, hujidhania kujua zaidi kwa kuacha kuwasikiliza vizuri wakubwa wake wanapompatia malezi mema ya kuishi vizuri na watu, kwa sababu ya dharau zake hizo, maishani mwake. Yeye hukosa malezi ya kuitunza vizuri familia yake kwa sababu ya dharau zake hizo kwa wakubwa wake hao, katika maisha yake.

Mtu huyo, hufanana na yule aliyerefusha singa akawadharau wazee wake, kwa sababu naye huwadharau wakubwa wake wa kuacha kuyasikiliza vizuri malezi yao, maishani mwake. Ndiyo maana wakubwa wake hao humwambia kwamba, “hata murefushe singa.”

Msemo huo, hufundisha watu juu ya kuacha kuwadharau wakubwa wao kwa kuyasikiliza vizuri malezi yao, ili waweze kuzilea vyema familia zao, maishani mwao.

ENGLISH: EVEN THOUGH YOU GROW LONG HAIR.

Once upon a time there was a man who grew long hair on his head. Such man despised an old man and a woman who had lived for many years because of his long hairs. He lacked an attention to understand that elders had seen many decent and evil deeds in their lives. That is why the elders told him that, “even though you grow long hair.”

This saying is equaled to a person who despises his elders in his life. This person thinks that he knows more by not listening to his elders when they give him good upbringing to live well with people, because of his contempt, in his life. He lacks an upbringing to take decent care of his family because of his contempt for his elders, in his life.

This person is like the one who grew long hair and despised his elders, because he also despises his elders for not listening to their upbringing, in his life. That is why his elders tell him that, “even though you grow long hair.”

This saying imparts in people an idea of stopping to despise their elders by listening carefully to their upbringing, so that they can raise their families well, throughout their lives.

Joshua Bin Sira 8:6.

1429. NAGWISANIJE.

Olihoyi munhu uyo wikalaga muchalo jilibhe. Umunhu ng’wunuyo aling’wikobya aliyo ni nguzu oliatinajo. Uweyi oliatogilwe yombo ya gwikenya na bhanhu kunguno ya olihoyi uyo oliang’wisanije igiki agubhumala duhu ubhulugu bhunubho. Hunagwene ong’wilaga giki, “nagwisanije.”

Akahayile kenako kagalenganijiyagwa kuli munhu uyo agitaga mihayo ya bhubhi bho gung’wisanya ntale okwe umukikalile kakwe. Umunhu ng’wunuyo, agabhadalahaga abhanhu bho gubhitila mihayo ya sagala kunguno ya bhudoshi bho gung’wisanya ntale okwe uyo agang’wambilija ugugamala amamihayo gakwe genayo, umuwikaji bhokwe. Uweyi agadumaga uguyilela chiza ikaya yakwe kunguno ya gwita mihayo ya bhubhi yiniyo umukikalile kakwe kenako.

KISWAHILI: NAKUTEGEMEA.

Alikuwepo mtu aliyeishi kwenye kijiji fulani. Mtu huyo alikuwa mchokozi wakati hakuwa na nguvu. Yeye alipenda kelele ya kugombana na watu kwa sababu alikuwepo yule aliyemtegemea kwamba ataimaliza tu hiyo vita. Ndiyo maana alimwambia kwamba, “nakutegemea.”

Msemo huo hulinganishwa kwa mtu yule ambaye huwatendea maovu watu kwa kumtegemea mkubwa wake katika maisha yake. Mtu huyo huwadhalau watu kwa kuwatendea mambo ya hovyo kwa sababu ya majivuno yake hayo ya kumtegemea mkubwa wake ambaye humsaidia katika kuyamaliza matatizo hayo, maishani mwake. Yeye hushindwa kuilea vyema familia hiyo yake kwa sababu ya kutenda maovu hayo, katika maisha yake hayo.

Mtu huyo, hufanana na yule aliyewachokoza watu mpaka akagombana nao kwa kumtegemea yule aliyevimaliza vita vyakwe, kwa sababu naye huwatemdea maovu watu kwa kumtegemea mkuwa wake mpaka anashindwa kuilea vyema familia yake, maishani mwake. Ndiyo maana humwambia kwamba, “nakutegemea.”

Msemo huo hufundisha watu juu ya kuacha kumtegemea mtu mwenye uwezo mpaka wanawatendea maovu wenzao, ili waweze kuzilea vyema familia zao, maishani mwao.

ENGLISH: I DEPEND ON YOU.

There was a man who lived in a certain village. Such man was a bully while he was powerless. He liked making noise by arguing with people because there was the one whom he relied on enough to end any war. That is why he told him that, “I depend on you.”

This saying is related to a person who does evils to people by relying on his elder brother in his life. This person humiliates people by doing evil things to them because of his arrogance of relying on his elder brother who helps him in solving those problems, in his life. He fails to raise his family because of committing those evil deeds, in his life.

This person is similar to the one who provoked people until he quarreled with them because of relying on the one who ended his wars, because he also does evils to people by relying on his elder brother until he fails to nicely raise his family, in his life. That is why he tells him that, “I depend on you.”

This adage imparts in people an idea of stopping to rely on someone in power to the point of doing evils to their fellow human beings, so that they can better raise their families, in their lives.

Msemo huo hulinganishwa kwa mtu yule ambaye hujitia kujua kufanya kazi ambayo haielewi vizuri katika maisha yake. Mtu huyo, huanza kufanya kazi bila ya kuwa na vitendea kazi vinavyotakiwa mpaka anashindwa kuimaliza vizuri kazi hiyo, kwa sababu ya kujifanya mjuaji kwenye vitu asivyovihamu vizuri, maishani mwake. Yeye huziharibu hovyo kazi zake kwa sababu ya kutia kujua kwake kwa kufanya kazi asizozielewa vizuri, katika maisha yake hayo.

Mtu huyo, hufanana na wale waliojifanya wajuaji wa kujenga nyumba mpaka wakaiharibu nyumba hiyo, kwa sababu naye hujifanya mjuaji wa kufanya kazi asizozielewa vizuri mpaka anaziharibu kazi hizo, maishani mwake. Ndiyo maana watu humwambia kwamba, “limewashinda kulitengeneza.”

Msemo huo, hufundisha watu juu ya kuwa na umakini wa kuacha kujifanya wajuaji wa kufanya kazi wasizozielewa vizuri, ili waweze kuyatekeleza vizuri majukumu yao, maishani mwao.

In the past, there were people who claimed to know how to build a house. These people were given a house to build in a certain village. When they finished building the house, it looked as if it was about to collapse because it was poorly built. That is why people said that “it failed them to build it.”

This saying is related to a person who pretends to know how to do a job that he does not understand well in his life. This person starts working without having the required tools until he fails to finish the job well, because of pretending to be knowledgeable about things that he does not understand well, in his life. He destroys his works in such a way because of putting his knowledge into doing jobs that he does not understand well, in his life.

This person resembles to those who pretended to know how to build a house until they destroy the house, because he also pretends to be knowledgeable about doing jobs that he does not understand well until he destroys those jobs, in his life. That is why people say to him that, “it failed them to build it.”

This saying teaches people about being careful enough to stop pretending to be experts in tasks which they do not understand well, so that they can properly fulfill their responsibilities in their lives.

1427. NG’WANA WIGOBO.

Imbuki ya kahayile kenako ihoyelile ligusha lya bhanigini. Abhanigini bhenabho bhagasolaga magobo bhagibhala kungongo kunguno bhagagagemanijaga na bhana bhabho. Abhoyi bhagabhizaga guti bhibhalaga bhana ukumigongo yabho aliyo gashinaga yaya bhadibhana. Hunagwene abhanhu bhagagitanaga giki “ng’wana wigobo.”

Akahayile kenako kagalenganijiyagwa kuli munhu uyo aling’wigashi aha kaya iyo ading’wana ogubyalilwa hoyi, umuwikaji bhokwe. Umunhu ng’wunuyo agatumamaga imilimo ya hakaya yiniyo bho nduhu ubhukalalwa kunguno akomile gwinga hoyi ikanza lyoselyose aha kaya yiniyo iki adabyalilwe hoyi, umuwikaji bhokwe. Uweyi adapandikaga amatwajo amingi kunguno ya gutumama milimo yakwe hado hado osamila kungi, umukikalile kakwe.

Umunhu ng’wunuyo, agikolaga nu ng’wana wigobo uyo adionhana, kunguno nuweyi agigashaga ahadoo osamila kungi umuwikaji bhokwe. Hunagwene abhanhu bhagang’witanaga giki, “ng’wana wigobo.”

KISWAHILI: MTOTO WA KOPO.

Chanzo cha msemo huo huongelea juu ya mchezo wa watoto. Watoto hao huchukua makopo na kuyabeba mgongoni mwao kwa sababu ya kuyafananisha na watoto wao. Mtu huyo, hufanya kazi zake akiwa legelege kwa sababu ya kuelewa kwamba, anaweza kuondoka pale wakati wowote ule, maishani mwake. Yeye hushindwa kupata mafanikio mengi kwa sababu ya kufanya kazi bila ya kujituma sawasawa, katika maisha yake.

Mtu huyo, hufanana na yule mtoto wa kopo ambaye siyo mzaliwa wa kwenye kwenye familia anayoishi, kwa sababu naye huishi kwa kuhamahama hivyo katika maisha yake. Ndiyo maana watu humuita kuwa ni “mtoto wa kopo.”

Msemo huo, hufundisha watu juu ya kuishi vizuri na watoto wale wasiokuwa watoto wao, ili waweze kusaidiana katika kuendeleza vizuri familia zao, maishani mwao.

ENGLISH: CANISTER CHILD.

The origin of the overhead saying talks about a children’s game. These children take cans and carry them on their backs because they compare them to their children. They appear as if they are carrying children on their backs when they are not real children. That is why people call these cans “canister child.”

This saying is equated to a person who is a resident of a family that he was not born there, in his life. This person does his works lazily because he understands that he can leave there at any time, in his life. He fails to achieve much success because of working without putting in the same effort in his life.

This person resembles the can child who is not born in the family where he lives in, because he also lives by moving around like that in his life. That is why people call him a “canister child.”

Uweyi agapandika sabho ningi aha kaya yakwe kunguno ya wigulambija bhokwe bhunubho ubho guitumama chiza imilimo yakwe, umukikalile kakwe kenako.

Umunhu ng’wunuyo, agikolaga nabho bhagandya gutumama milimo yabho aho yandya ugutula imbula mpaga bhupandika jikolo, kunguno nuweyi agigulambijaga gutumama milimo yakwe chiza ulu lyashiga ilikanza lyayo mpaga opandika jikolo umuwikaji bhokwe bhunubho. Hunagwene agayombaga giki, “idizaga mzenze.”

Mtu huyo, huwahi kwenda kazini kwake na kujibidisha kuzitekeleza vizuri mpaka  mwisho, kwa sababu ya bidii yake hiyo maishani mwake. Yeye hupata mali nyingi kwenye familia yake hiyo kwa sababu ya bidii yake hiyo ya kuzitekeleza vizuri kazi zake, katika maisha yake.

Mtu huyo hufanana na wale walioanza kuzitekeleza vizuri kazi zao ilipoanza kunyesha mvua mpaka wakapata mali, kwa sababu naye hujibidisha kuzitekeleza vizuri kazi zake unapofika wakati wake mpaka anafanikiwa kupata mali, maishani mwake. Ndiyo maana yeye husema kwamba, “haiiji kwa starehe.”

Msemo huo hufundisha watu juu ya kuwa na umakini wa kujibidisha kuzitekeleza vizuri kazi zao unapofika wakati wake, ili waweze kupata mali nyingi katika familia zao hizo.

The origin of this saying refers to a beginning of rain. This rain does not come with pleasure because it comes with works which people start doing so that they can get wealth in their lives. That is why these people say that, “it does not come with pleasure.”

This saying is matched to a person who strives to do his works well when the time of doing them reaches, in his life. This person, always goes to his jobs and strives to do them well until the end, because of his diligence in his life. He earns a lot of wealth in his family because of his diligence in doing his works well in life.

This person is similar to those who started doing their works well when it started to rain until they got wealth, because he also strives to do his works well when the time of doing them arrives until he succeeds in getting wealth, in his life. That is why he says that, “it does not come with pleasure.”

This proverb teaches people about being diligent in doing their jobs well when the time of dong them begins, so that they can gain a lot of wealth in their families.
