Imbuki ya kahayile kenako yihoyelile munhu uyo olina sata iyo agikala nayo ku likanza liliihu. Umunhu ng’wunuyo, umanaga ukoya ni sata yiniyo bhuli makanza kunguno yaliidapilaga wangu. Hunagwene abhanhu bhagayomba giki, “yiniyo ndwala.”

Akahayile kenako, kagalenganijiyagwa kuli munhu uyo agitaga mihayo ya bhubhi bhuli makanza umukikalile kakwe. Umunhu ng’wunuyo, agitaga miito gabhubhi ayo agalemaga ugugaleka ulu ohugulwa na bhiye, kunguno ya nhungwa jakwe ijabhubhi jinijo, umuwikaji bhokwe. Uweyi agabhalangaga abhanhu bha hakaya yakwe gwita miito gabhubhi, kunguno ya ng’wungwa jakwe ja bhubhi jinijo, umukikalile kakwe.

KISWAHILI: HUU NI UGONJWA.

Chanzo cha msemo huo huongelea juu ya mtu aliyekuwa na ugonjwa kwa muda mrefu. Ugonjwa huo ulikuwa ukimhangaisha kila wakati kwa sababu ya kutokupona kwake haraka. Ndiyo maana watu waliutambua kwa kusema kwamba “huu ni ugonjwa.”

Msemo huo, hulinganishwa kwa mtu yule ambaye hutenda matendo maovu katika maisha yake. Mtu huyo, hutendo matendo hayo maovu kwa makusudi na kukataa ushauri wa kuyaacha kwa sababu ya tabia yake hiyo mbaya, maishani mwake. Yeye huwafundisha watu walioko kwenye familia yake kutenda matendo maovu kwa njia ya matendo yake, kwa sababu ya tabia hiyo ya kuzoea kutenda maovu, maishani mwake.

Mtu huyo, hufanana na yule aliyesumbuliwa na ugonjwa mara kwa mara, kwa sababu naye hutenda matendo maovu mara kwa mara, maishani mwake. Ndiyo maana watu huitaja tabia yake hiyo kwa kusema kwamba, “huu ni ugonjwa.”

Msemo huo, hufundisha watu juu ya kuacha tabia ya kutenda matendo maovu kwa kutenda matendo mema kila wakati, ili waweze kuzilea vyema, familia zao, maishani mwao.

ENGLISH: THIS IS A DISEASE.

The cradle of the overhead saying talks about a person who had been sick for a long time. This disease was always worrying him because of its slow recovery. That is why people recognized it by saying that “this is a disease.”

This saying is equated to a person who commits evil deeds in his life. Such person does those evil deeds on purpose and refuses an advice of stopping them because of his wicked behavior, in his life. He teaches people in his family to do evil deeds through his actions, because of that habit of doing evil, in his life.

This person relates to the one who suffered from a disease for long time, because he also commits immoral deeds from time to time in his life. That is why people refer to his behavior by saying, that “this is a disease.”

This saying imparts in people an idea about giving up a habit of doing wicked deeds by always doing good deeds, so that they can raise their families well in their lives.

Akahayile kenako kagalenganijiyagwa kuli munhu uyo adabhadililaga chiza abhanigini, umuwikaji bhokwe. Umunhu ng’wunuyo, agabhalekaga abhana bhaluha mpaga bho gulela likanza lilihu ilya gudula gubhapimija, kunguno ya gubhalekanija sagala abhana bhenabho, umukikalile kakwe. Uweyi agabhalekaga abhana bhaluka mpaga bhakonda aha kaya yakwe bho nduhu ugubhadilila kunguno ya bhulekanija bhokwe bhunubho, umuwikaji bhokwe.

Abhana bhenabho bhagikolaga nuyo agalila mpaga upimila, kunguno nabhoyi bhagalenijiyagwa bhaluha mpaga bhakonda bho nduhu ugwambilijiwa, umuwikaji bhobho. Hunagwene abhanhu bhagabhabhonaga bhayomba giki, bhandyaga “gwidikula.”

Akahayile kenako kalanga bhanhu higulya ya kubhalela chiza abhana bhabho bho gubhadilila chiza, kugiki bhadule gukula chiza, umuwikaji bhobho.

KISWAHILI: KUHEMA KWA SHIDA.

Kuhema kwa shida ni kukosa pumzi ya kupumulia. Alikuwepo mtoto aliyekuwa akiishi katika kijiji fulani. Mtoto huyo, aliachwa na wazazi wake akalia mpaka akaanza kuhema kwa shida kwa kasabu ya kukosa pumzi. Ndiyo maana watu waliomuona walisema kwamba, ameanza “kuhema kwa shida.”

Msemo huo, hulinganishwa kwa mtu yule ambaye huwa hawajali vizuri watoto katika maisha yake. Mtu huyo, huwaacha watoto wakateseka mpaka wanalia kwa muda mrefu wa kuweza kuwakosesha pumzi, kwa sababu ya kuwatelekeza hivyo, maishani mwake. Yeye huwaacha watoto wakiteseka hovyo mpaka wanakonda kwenye familia yake, kwa sababu ya kutowajali hivyo, maishani mwake.

Watoto hao, hufanana na yule mtoto aliyelia mpaka akakosa pumzi, kwa sababu nao hutelekezwa katika hali ya kuteseka mpaka wanakonda bila ya kusaidiwa, maishani mwao. Ndiyo maana watu wawaonao husema kwamba, wameanza “kuhema kwa shida.”

Msemo huo, hufundisha watu juu ya kuwalea vyema watoto wao kwa kuwajali vizuri, ili waweze kukua vizuri, maishani mwao.

ENGLISH: TO BREATHE WITH DIFFICULTY.

To breathe with difficulty is shortness of inhalation. There was a child who lived in a certain village. This child left by his parents, cried until he began to gasp for breath. That is why the people who saw him said that he had started to “to breathe with difficulty.”

This saying is equaled to the person who does not take good care of the children in his life. That person, leaves the children to suffer until they cry for a long time to be able to suffocate them, because of neglecting them in his life. He leaves the children to suffer carelessly until they are thin in his family, because of such indifference to them, in his life.

Those children are like the child who cried until he was out of breath, because they are also left in a state of suffering until they become thin without help, in their lives. That is why people who see them say that they have begun to “to breathe with difficulty.”

This saying teaches people about raising their children well by taking good care of them, so that they can grow well, in their lives.

Mamonyongele jili jito ja gutumama milimo nulu guyomba mihayo bho sagala sagala. Umunhu ng’wunuyo, agalimaga migunda mitale oilekanija duhu kunguno ya kugaiwa witegeleja bhunubho, umuwikaji bhokwe. Uweyi agakelaga bhuli ng’waka aha kaya yakwe kunguno ya gutumama milimo bho nduhu gwiganika bho gwitegeleja chiza, umubhutumami bhokwe bhunubho.

Umunhu ng’wunuyo, agikolaga nuyo otumamaga milimo bho sagala sagala kunguno nuweyi agatumamaga milimo yakwe bho nduhu ugwitegeleja chiza, umuwikaji bhokwe. Hunagwene abhanhu bhagang’witanaga giki, “mamonyongele.”

Akahayile kenako kalanga bhanhu higulya ya kutumama milimo yabho bho gwiganika na gwitegeleja bhutale, kugiki bhudule gupandika matwajo mingi, umubhutumami bho milimo yabho yiniyo.

Matendo ya mitume 17:1-9.

KISWAHILI: HOVYO HOVYO.

Hovyo hovyo ni kitendo cha kufanya kazi au kuongea maneno vibaya. Hapo zamani alikuwepo mtu aliyekuwa akifanya kazi vibaya kwa maana ya kulipua kazi, kwa sababu ya kukosa umakini katika mawazo yake. Mtu huyo, alijulikana sana katika kijiji chake kwa sababu ya namna yake hiyo kufanya kazi vibaya. Ndiyo maana watu walimuita jina la “hovyo hovyo.”

Msemo huo, hulinganishwa kwa mtu yule ambaye hufanya kazi zake bila kuwa na umakini katika maisha yake. Mtu huyo, hulima mashamba makubwa na kuyatelekeza bila kuyatunza kwa sababu ya kufanya kazi kwake bila kuwa na umakini wa kufanya utafiti wa kutosha, maishani mwake. Yeye hukosa chakula kila mwaka katika familia yake hiyo, kwa sababu kufanya kazi zake hizo bila kufikiria kwa umakini zaidi, katika utendaji wake.

Mtu huyo, hufanana na yule aliyefanya kazi zake vibaya, kwa sababu naye hufanya kazi zake bila kufikiria kwa umakini, maishani mwake. Ndiyo maana watu humuita jila la “hovyo hovyo.”

Msemo huo, hufundisha watu juu ya kufanya kazi zao kwa umakini wa kufanya utafiti kwanza kabla ya kuzianza, ili waweze kupata mafanikio mengi, katika utekelezaji wa majukumu yao hayo.

ENGLISH: BADLY BADLY.

Careless is an act of doing things or speaking words badly. Once upon a time there was a man who was doing work badly in the sense of blowing up work, because of lacking focus in his thoughts. This man was well known in his village because of his way of working badly. That is why people called him the name of “badly badly.”

This saying is related to a person who does his work without being focused in his life. Such person cultivates large fields and abandons them without taking care of them because of working without having good attention enough to do research in his life. He lacks food every year in his family because of doing his works without thinking more seriously in his performance.

This person is similar to the one who did his work badly, because he also does his works without thinking seriously in his life. That is why people call him the name of “badly badly.”

This saying teaches people about doing their jobs carefully enough to do research first before starting them, so that they can get a lot of success in carrying out of their duties.

Umunhu ng’wunuyo, adabhadililaga abhiye umutumami bho milimo yakwe kunguno ya bhudoshi bho gwimana weyi duhu, umuwikaji bhobho bhunubho. Uweyi agagawiyigwa abhanhu abha gwikala nanghwe akaya yakwe yiniyo, kunguno ya bhudoshi bhokwe bhunubho, ubhogwidilila wei duhu bho nduhu ugubhadilila abhiye, umukikalile kakwe kenako.

Umunhu ng’wunuyo, agikolaga nuyo agelema gumishiwa na bhiye abho bhacholaga wambilijiwa, kunguno nuweyi agikalaga wimanile weyi duhu bho nduhu ugubhambilija abhiye abho bhali na makoye, umuwikaji bhokwe. Hunagwene agayombaga giki, “unene nanyikilaga.”

Akahayile kenako, kalanga bhanhu higulya ya kubhadilila chiza abhanhu abho bhali na makoye bho gubhambilija, kugiki bhadule gwikala na bhuyegi, umukaya jabho.

Msemo huo, hulinganishwa kwa mtu yule ambaye huwa hasaidii vizuri wenzake walioko kwenye matatizo, katika maisha yake. Mtu huyo, huwa hawajali wenzake waomwendea wakiomba msaada wa kusaidiwa kutatua matatizo yao, kwa sababu ya majivuno yake ya kujijali yeye wenyewe tu, maishani mwake. Yeye hukosa watu wa kuishi naye kwenye familia yake hiyo kwa sababu ya kujijali mwenyewe bila kuwasaidia wenzake walio na matatizo, katika maisha yake.

Mtu huyo, hufanana na yule aliyejali usingizi wake kwa kukataa kuwasaidia wale waliokuwa na matatizo, kwa sababu naye huwa hawasaidii watu walioko kwenye matatizo, maishani mwake. Ndiyo  maana husema kwamba, “mimi nimelala.”

Msemo huo, hufundisha watu juu ya kuwasaidia wenzao walioko kwenye matatizo, kwa kuwajali vizuri, ili waweze kuishi kwa furaha katika familia zao, maishani mwao.

ENGLISH: I HAVE SLEPT.

There was a man who lived in a certain village. He went to sleep in his room, with an aim of resting. But people who were in problems came to him and asked him to help them in their anxiety. He refused to give up his sleep, saying that he was asleep. That is why he said, “I have slept.”

This saying is compared to a person who does not help well his colleagues who are in tribulations in his life. Yeye hupata mali nyingi sana kwenye familia yake hiyo kwa sababu ya bidii yake ya kufanya kazi vizuri na kwa uvumilifu wa hali ya juu, katika maisha yake.

Mtu huyo, hufanana na yule aliyeingia darini kwenye uzuri wa vitu vingi, kwa sababu naye ametajirika kwa kujibidisha kufanya kazi mpaka akapata mali nyingi, maishani mwake. Ndiyo maana watu humuongelea kwamba, “huyo ameingia darini.”

Methali hiyo, hufundisha watu juu ya kujibidisha kufanya kazi zao vizuri na kwa uvumilivu mkubwa mpaka wapate mali nyingi za kutoka kutumia katika familia zao, ili waweze kuziendeleza vizuri familia zao hizo, maishani mwao.
