KISWAHILI: ANAKULA CHA MASIMANGO.

Alikuwepo mtu ambaye alikuwa akila chakula bila kufanya kazi. Mtu huyo, alikuwa haendi kufanya kazi kwa sababu alikuwa akikaa nyumbani wakati wa kufanya kazi. Ndiyo maana watu walimwambia kwamba, “anakula cha masimango.”

Msemo huo, hulinganishwa kwa mtu yule ambaye ni mvivu wa kazi katika maisha yake. Mtu huyo, huutumia muda wake kwa kukaa nyumbani wakati wa kufanya kazi mpaka muda huo unapita, kwa sababu ya uvivu wake huo maishani mwake.  Yeye hukosa chakula kwenye familia yake kila mwaka kwa sababu ya uvivu wake huo wa kukaa nyumbani bila kufanya kazi, katika maisha yake hayo.

Mtu huyo, hufanana na yule aliyekula chakula bila kufanya kazi, kwa sababu naye hushinda akiwa amekaa nyumbani bila kufanya kazi mpaka wakati huo wa kazi unapita, maishani mwake.  Ndiyo maana watu humwambia kwamba, “anakula cha masimango.”

Msemo huo, hufundisha watu juu ya kuwa na bidii ya kufanya kazi, kwa kujibidisha kuyatekeleza majukumu yao vizuri, ili waweze kupata mali za kutumia katika familia zao.

ENGLISH: HE EATS THE FOOD OF INSULTS.

There was a man who ate food without working. Such man did not go to work because he was staying at home during working hours. That is why people said to him that, “he eats the food of insults.”

This saying is equaled to a person who is lazy in his life. Such man spends his time by staying at home during working hours until that time passes, because of his laziness in his life. He lacks food for his family every year because of his laziness in staying at home without working in his life.

This man resembles the one who ate food without working, because he also wins while staying at home without working until such time of work passes, in his life. That is why people said to him that “he eats the food of insults.”

This saying imparts in people an idea being diligent in working, by working hard enough to fulfill their duties well, so that they can earn wealth for their families.

Yeye hukosa baraka za kuishi kwa furaha katika familia yake hiyo, kwa sababu ya majivuno yake hayo ya kuwacheka vilema, katika maisha yake hayo.

Mtu huyo, hufanana na wale waliomcheka yule aliyekuwa na kilema mgongoni mwake, kwa sababu naye huwacheka watu wenye vilema, maishani mwake. Ndiyo maana huwaambia kwamba, “mshushe mtoto atakuchosha.”

Msemo huo, hufundisha watu juu ya kuwa na tabia njema ya kuishi vizuri na watu walio na vilema, ili waweze kupata baraka za kuishi kwa furaha, katika familia zao, maishani mwao.

There was a man who lived in a certain village. Such man was born with a crippled back because of his birthmark. He looked like he was carrying a child on his back. That is why people joked about him by saying that, “Put the child down, you will be bored.”

This saying is compared to a person who is proud enough to laugh at people who have disabilities in his life. Such man tortures disabled ones by laughing at them because of his pride in his life. He misses blessings of living happily in his family because of his pride of laughing at the disabled ones in his life.

This man is like those who laughed at the man who had a crippled back because he also laughs at the disabled people in his life. That is why he says that, “Put the child down, you will be bored.”

This saying imparts in people an idea of having decent habits of nicely living with people who have disabilities, so that they can receive blessings of living happily, in their family lives.

Kitendawali hicho huongelea uendaji wa maji ya mto. Maji hayo ya mto huenda mbele tu kwa sababu ya kutokea mlimani kuelekea mtelemkoni. Yenyewe huwa hayarudi nyuma kwa sababu yanatokea mlimani kushuka chiza, siyo kupanda juu. Ndiyo maana watu huhadithiana kwamba, “ametembea mno lakini haangalii nyuma – mto.”

Kitendawili hicho hulinganishwa kwa mtu yule ambaye huyaiishi vizuri maagizo ya wakubwa wake, katika maisha yake. Mtu huyo, huyaishi maagizo hayo ya wakubwa wake kwa kuwafundisha watu wake namna ya kuishi vizuri na wenzao, kwa sababu ya uaminifu wake huo, maishani mwake. Yeye huishi kwa furaha kubwa katika familia yake kwa sababu ya uaminifu wake huo wa kuyaishi vizuri maagizo hayo ya wakubwa wake, katika maisha yake hayo.

Mtu huyo, hufanana na yale maji yaendayo mbele bila kurudi nyuma, kwa sababu naye huyaishi vizuri maagizo ya wakubwa wake, maishani mwake. Ndiyo maana watu humwambia kwamba, “ametembea mno lakini haangalii nyuma – mto.”

Kitendawili hicho, hufundisha watu juu ya kuwa na uaminifu wa kuyaishi vizuri maagizo ya Mungu, ili waweze kupata Baraka za kuishi kwa furaha ya kuwafikisha Mbinguni.

ENGLISH: I HAVE A RIDDLE – LET IT COME.

HE HAS WALKED A LOT BUT HE DOESN’T LOOK BACK – A RIVER.

This riddle talks about a movement of river water. This river water only moves forward because it comes from the mountain towards the slope. It itself never goes back because it comes from the mountain going down, not upwards. That is why people say that, “he has walked a lot but he does not look back – a river.”

This riddle is compared to a person who lives by observing instructions of his superiors in his life. This person puts into practices instructions of his superiors by teaching his people how to live well with their family members, because of his loyalty in life. He lives with great happiness in his family because of his loyalty to nicely living within the instructions of elders in his life.

This person is like that river water which moves forward without going back, because he also lives well the instructions of his directors in his life. That is why people say to him that, “He has walked far but he does not look back – a river.”

This riddle teaches people about being faithful enough to nicely live according to God’s commandments, so that they can receive blessings of living happily to the point of entering Heaven.

Methali hiyo hulinganishwa kwa watu wale ambao hufanya kazi zao kitoto katika maisha yao. Watu hao hufanya kazi kidogo tu wanaanza kucheza mpaga wanashindwa kuzimaliza kazi zao, kwa sababu ya kujali maongezi yasiyo na faida wakati wa kufanya kazi, maishani mwao. Wao hukosa chakula katika familia zao kwa sababu ya utoto wao wa kushindwa kufanya kazi zao vizuri, maishani mwao.

Watu hao hufanana na watoto waliojali kucheza bila kufanya kazi, kwa sababu nao hujali maongezi wakati wa kazi mpaka wanashindwa kuzimaliza kazi zao, maishani mwao. Ndiyo maana watu huwaambia kwamba, “mchezo wa watoto vumbi la mbwa.”

Methali hiyo hufundisha watu juu ya kujali kazi zao kwa kuzitekeleza kwa bidii kubwa, ili waweze kupata mali za kutumia vizuri katika familia zao, maishani mwao.

Children play their games by kicking up dust like a game of dogs. These children kick up dust because they always play with sand or something else including fire because of their childhood. That is why people say that, “children’s game dog dust.”

This proverb is paralleled to people who do their works like a child in their lives. These people only work a little, they start playing around and fail to finish their works, because they care about useless conversations while working, in their lives. They lack food in their families because of their childhood of failing to nicely do their works in their lives.

These people resemble the children who cared about playing without working, because they also care about conversations while working until they fail to finish their works, in their lives. That is why people say to them that, “children’s game dog dust.”

This proverb clarifies in people an idea of taking care of their works by carrying them out with great diligence, so that they can obtain wealth to nicely use in their family lives.

Wao huiishi kwa furaha kwenye familia zao kwa sababu ya kumwamini Yesu vizuri, katika maisha yao.

Watu hao, hufanana na wale walioalikwa kufanya kazi ya mtu fulani wakaitekeleza vizuri, kwa sababu nao humtumikia vizuri Yesu aliyewaita kwa kuishi na watu vizuri, maishani mwao. Ndio maana huwajali watu kwa kuwauliza kwamba, “mlikuwa wangapi?”

This saying refers to people who were invited to work for someone who invited them. Those people went to do a job well because they liked to live well with their nobles. They were asked by people when they returned an implementation of their works because they wanted to understand a number of those who responded to the call. That is why they asked that, “How many were you?”

This saying is equated to people who were invited to serve Jesus and carried out that work well, in their lives. Those people serve Jesus well by living well with their dukes because they love Jesus, in their lives. They live it happily in their families because they nicely believe in Jesus in their lives.

These people are similar to those who were invited to do someone else’s work and carried it out well, because they also serve Jesus who called them well by nicely living with people, in their lives. That is why they do not care about people by asking them that, “How many were you?”

This saying imparts in people an idea of of believing in Jesus by working together well with their nobles, so that they can receive blessings that will take them to heaven.
