1165. SHULI MAB’ELE HA NYANGO.

Ulusumo lunulo, luhoyelile higulya ya ng’ombe ja mab’ele aha kaya ndebhe, kunguno ishuli hi ng’ombe. Yalihoyi kaya imo iyo yali na ng’ombe kaganda umuchalo ja Sanjo. Ikaya yiniyo yikalaga yuliila mab’ele bhuli lushugu kunguno ya mitugo ijo bhali najo jinijo umukikalile kabho. Hunagwene bhayombaga giki, “shuli mab’ele ha nyango.”

Ulusumo lunulo, lugalenganijiyagwa kubhanhu abho bhagajilanhanaga chiza imitugo jabho, umuwikaji bhobho. Abhanhu bhenabho bhagajichilulaga diyu imitugo jabho jinijo bhagajidima mpaga jiguta buli lushigu kunguno bhayidebhile isolobho ya mitugo jabho jinijo, umubhulamu bhobho. Abhoyi bhagikalaga bhuliila mab’ele bhuli lushugu aha kaya yabho yiniyo kunguno ya gujilabhila chiza imitugo jabho jinijo, umuwikaji bhobho.

Abhanhu bhenabho, bhagikolaga ni kaya iyo yali na ng’ombe kaganda ja mab’ele kunguno nabhoyi bhagajilanhanaga chiza ing’ombe jabho ijo jigabhinhaga mab’ele bhuli lushugu, umukikalile kabho kenako. Hunagwene bhagayombaga giki, “shuli mab’ele ha nyango.”

KISWAHILI: NG’OMBE MAZIWA KWENYE MLANGO.

Methali hiyo, huongelea juu ya ng’ombe wa maziwa kwenye familia fulani. Ilikuwepo familia moja iliyokuwa na ng’ombe kiasi katika kijiji cha Sanjo. Familia hiyo, ilikuwa ikitumia maziwa kila siku kwa sababu ya uwepo wa mifugo hao katika maisha yao. Ndiyo maana walisema kwamba, “ng’ombe maziwa kwenye mlango.”

Methali hiyo, hulinganishwa kwa watu wale ambao huwatunza vizuri mifugo wao, maishani mwao. Watu hao, huwapeleka ng’ombe wao kwenye malisho asubuhi na mapema ambako huwalisha mpaka wanashiba kila siku kwa sababu wanazielewa faida za ng’ombe hao, kwenye maisha yao. Wao hutumia maziwa kila siku kwenye familia yao hiyo, kwa sababu ya kuwatunza vizuri ng’ombe wao hao, maishani mwao.

Watu hao hufanana na ile familia iliyokuwa na mifugo kiasi wa maziwa, kwa sababu nao wanao mifugo hao wanaowapatia watu hao mazima kila siku kwenye familia yao hiyo, katika maisha yao. Ndiyo maana wao husema kwamba, “ng’ombe maziwa kwenye mlango.”

Methali hiyo, hufundisha watu juu ya kuwatunza vizuri migugo wao ili waweze kuwasaidia vizuri, maishani mwao.

1164. UDIZIGUSHA NA NGUKU UGUBUKULA MBELELE.

Inguku ili shinu nhenaguji gete ukubhalimi iyo igajaga kumigunda yabho yagajilya ijiliwa jabho. Inguku yiniyo idulile gugamala amandege ga nimi uyo agigusha nayo bho nduhu ugukalana ijinagugulinda ungunda gokwe.

Olihoyi nimi uyo agigusha ni nguku bho guleka ugugulinda chiza ungunda gokwe uyo gali go mandege mpaga jugalya pye amandege gakwe genayo usagijiwa mbelele duhu. Hunagwene abhanhu bhagang’wila giki, “udizigusha na nguku ugubukula mbelele.”

Ulusumo lunulo, lugalenganijiyagwa kuli munhu uyo agajilekanijaga sagala ijiliwa jakwe mpaga jaliwa na majilili, umukikalile kakwe. Umunhu ng’wunuyo, adajilanhanaga chiza ijiliwa jakwe ulu japya umumigunda yakwe kunguno ya bhulekenija bhokwe bhunubho. Uweyi agasangaga jamalagwa guliwa na majilili ijiliwa jakwe jiniko haho jitali mungunda kunguno ya bhujidadilila bhokwe bhunubho, umuwikaji bhokwe.

Umunhu ng’wunuyo, agikolaga nuyo agaleka ugugalanhana chiza amandege gakwe mpaga gumalwa guliwa na nguku haho gatali mumo ngunda, kunguno nuweyi agajilekanijaga mpaka jamalwa guliwa na majilili ijiliwa jakwe, umukikalile kakwe kenako. Hunagwene abhanhu bhagang’wilaga giki, “udizigusha na nguku ugubukula mbelele.”

KISWAHILI: USICHEZE NA NYANI UTAVUNA MABUA.

Nyani ni mnyama mharibifu kabisa kwa wakulima ambaye huenda kula mahindi kwenye mashamba yao. Nyani huyo aweza kuyamaliza kuyala mahindi ya mkulima yule ambaye hucheza naye kwa kutokuyalinda vizuri mashamba yake hayo.

Alikuwepo mkulima yule ambaye alicheza na nyani kwa kuacha kulilinda vizuri shamba lake la mahindi mpaka nyani hao wakayala mahindi yake yote akabakishiwa mabua tu. Ndiyo maana watu walimwambia kwamba, “usicheze na nyani utavuna mabua.”

Methali hiyo, hulinganishwa kwa mtu yule ambaye huyatelekeza mashamba yake ya chakula mpaka yakafikia hatua ya kuliwa na wanyama waharibifu, katika maisha yake. Mtu huyo, huwa hayalindi vizuri mashamba yake ya chakula yanapokamaa kwa sababu ya kutokuyajali kwake. Yeye hukuta wanyama hao wameyala mazao yake yote yangali bado shambani kwa sababu ya kutokuyalinda vizuri hivyo mazao yake, maishani mwake.

Mtu huyo, hufanana na yule ambaye hakuyalinda vizuri mahindi yake mpaka yakaliwe na nyani yangali bado shambani, kwa sababu naye huyatelekeza mazao yake mpaka yanaisha yote kwa kuliwa na wanyama waharibifu. Ndiyo maana watu humuambia kwamba “usicheze na nyani utavuna mabua.”

Methali hiyo, hufundisha watu juu ya kuwa na ujanja wa kuyalinda vizuri mazao yao ya chakula, ili waweze kuvuna mazao ya kutosha kuwasaidia katika kuzilisha vizuri familia zao, maishani mwao.

ENGLISH: DO NOT PLAY WITH MONKEYS; YOU WILL REAP STALKS.

Monkeys are very destructive animals to farmers because they go to eat maizes in their fields. The monkey can end up eating the maizes of the farmer who plays with him by not protecting his fields properly.

There was a farmer who played with monkeys by not protecting his field of maizes properly until the monkeys ate all the maizes and he was left with only stalks. That is why people told him that, “do not play with monkeys; you will reap stalks.”

This proverb is compared to the person who neglects his food fields until they reach the stage of being eaten by pests, in his life. Such person does not protect his food fields well when they mature because of his carelessness. He finds that pests and other destructive animals have eaten all his crops while they are still in the field because of not protecting them properly, in his life.

Such person is similar to the one who did not protect his maizes properly until they were eaten by monkeys while they were still in the field, because he also neglects his crops until they are all eaten by pests. That is why people tell him that “do not play with monkeys; you will reap stalks.”

This proverb teaches people to be smart enough to protect their food crops, so that they can harvest enough crops to help them in feeding their family members well, in their lives.

Aliyo lulu ligashiga likanza wigung’wa sata aha kaya yakwe yiniyo mpaga usamamila muchalo jingi na gwinga umuchalo jinijo kunguno yiniyo. Uweyi agajileka ichalo jinijo na wiza bhojo. Hunagwene umunhu ng’wunuyo agayomba giki, “mumo jiganonela munhu jigalekagwa.”

Ulusumo lunulo lugalenganijiyagwa kuli munhu uyo agalyaga jiliwa chiza bho nduhu ugubhimbelwa umukikalile kakwe. Umunhu ng’wunuyo, agalyaga ijiliwa bho gwilingila chiza numo agigutililaga duhu na goya ugulya, mumo jiganolela ijiliwa jinijo, kunguno adatogilwe ugulya mpaga ubhimbelwa. Uweyi agikalaga na majiliwa mingi aha kaya yakwe kunguno ya gujitumamila na witegeleja ijiliwa ijo agajipandikaga jinijo, umuwikaji bhokwe.

Umunhu ng’wunuyo agikolaga nuyo ulimuchalo jawiza usamila muchalo jingi, ujileka na wiza bhojo ichalo jinijo, kunguno nuweyi agalyaga jiliwa jinonu ulu wiguta duhu ojileka na bhunonu bhojo ijiliwa jinijo. Hunagwene agayombaga giki, “mumo jiganonela munhu jigalekagwa.”

KISWAHILI: HATA KIKOLEE UTAMU WA CHUMVI HUACHWA.

Hapo zamani alikuwepo mtu aliyeishi kwenye kijiji fulani ambacho kilikuwa kizuri sana. Mtu huyo alizoea sana kuishi kwenye kijiji hicho kwa sababu ya uzuri wa makazi hayo.

Lakini basi ulifika wakati ambapo alianza kuugua magonjwa mbalimbali kwenye familia yake mpaga akahamia kwenye kijiji kingine, akakiacha kijiji hicho pamoja na uzuri wake huo. Ndiyo maana yeye alisema kwamba, “hata kikolee utamu wa chumvi huachwa.”

Methali hiyo hulinganishwa kwa mtu yule ambaye hula chakula kwa kiasi bila kubimbiwa katika maisha yake. Mtu huyo, hula chakula kwa umakini mzuri wa kutosheka tu na kuacha kula hata kama chakula hicho kitakuwa kitamu namna gani, kwa sababu hapendi kula mpaga kuvimbiwa. Yeye huwa na chakula kingi sana kwenye familia yake hiyo kwa sababu ya kuvitumia kwa umakini vyakula anavyovipata, maishani mwake.

Mtu huyo, hufanana na yule aliyeishi kwenye kijiji kizuri, akahamia kwenye kijiji kingine, akakiacha hicho na uzuri wake, kwa sababu naye hula chakula kizuri na kukiacha na uzuri wake kila anapotosheka kula. Ndiyo maana yeye husema kwamba, “hata kikolee utamu wa chumvi huachwa.”

Methali hiyo, hufundisha watu juu ya kuvitumia vitu vyao kwa umakini mkubwa ili viweze kuwasaidia vizuri, maishani mwao.

Imbuki ya lusumo lunulo ihoyilile bhayob’i bha bhugondo. Abhayob’i bha b’ugondo bhenabho bhagikalaga na lilanha lilihu lya gukindila b’ugondo kunguno amanti agangi galimalihu. Abhoyi ulu bhagashiga aha linti ililihu bhagabhukindaga ub’ugondo bho lilanha linilo bhogwa hasi. Hunagwene abhanhu bhagabhawilaga giki, “bhenabho bhakindi bha b’ugondo.”

Ulusumo lunulo, lugalenganijiyagwa kubhanhu abho bhagawangalaga bho gubhucha pye ijitumamilo ja milimo yabho umubhutumami bhobho bhunubho. Abhanhu bhenabho bhagibhegelejaga bho gwita bhukengeji bho gupandika jitumamilo ja milimo yabho ijawiza kunguno ya witegeleja bhobho bhunubho umubhutumami bho milimo yabho yiniyo. Abhoyi bhagapandikaga matwajo mingi umu kaya jabho kunguno ya gutumila jitumamilo jawiza umumilimo yabho yiniyo, umuwikaji bhobho.

KISWAHILI: HAO WATUNGUAJI WA SANDARUSI.

Chanzo cha methali hiyo chaongelea juu ya watunguaji wa Sandarusi. Watunguaji hao wa sandarusi huwa na fimbo ndefu ya kuvunia Sandarusi kwa sababu miti mingine huwa mirefu. Hivyo basi, wao wakifika kwenye miti hiyo mirefu hutungulia mazao yao hayo kwa kutumia miti hiyo. Ndiyo maana watu huwaambia kwamba, “hao watunguaji wa sandarusi.”

Methali hiyo, hulinganishwa kwa watu wale ambao hujiandaa kwa kubeba vitendea kazi vyao vyote vinavyotakiwa katika utekelezaji wa majukumu yao. Watu hao hujiandaa kwa kufanya utafiti wa kuvipata vitendea kazi vyote vinavyotakiwa katika kazi zao, kwa sababu ya umakini wao huo katika utekelezaji wa kazi zao hizo. Wao hupata maendeleo makubwa kwenye familia zao kwa sababu ya kutumia vitendea kazi vizuri, katika kazi zao hizo, maishani mwao.

Watu hao hufanana na watunguaji wa Sandarusi waliotumia fimbo ndefu katika kutungulia mavuno hayo, kwa sababu nao hutumia vitendea kazi vizuri katika utekelezaji wa majukumu yao. Ndiyo maana watu huwaambia kwamba, “hao watunguaji wa Sandarusi.”

Methali hiyo, hufundisha watu juu ya kutumia vitendea kazi vizuri katika utekelezaji wa majukumu yao, ili waweze kupata maendeleo makubwa ya kuziendeleza vizuri familia zao, maishani mwao.

Ulihoyi ng’wanafunzi umo uyo osomaga aha shule ya Imalabupina, wilaya ya jibhapu, umu nkoa go Shinyanga. Ongw’anafunzi ng’wunuyo owilagwa na bhiye giki, wisemele chiza bhuli lushigu. Aliyo uweyi omanaga uhaya giki, ‘nagwisomela ntondo”.

Methali hiyo huongelea juu ya faida ya kuitumia siku kwa sababu kila kila ina vitu vyake. Alikuwepo mwanafunzi mmoja aliyekuwa akisoma kwenye shule ya Imalabupina, wilayani Kishapu, katika mkoa wa Shinyanga.

Mwanafunzi huyo, alikuwa akiambiwa na wenzake kwamba, ajisemee vizuri kila siku. Lakini yeye alikuwa akisema kwamba, “nitajisomea kesho.” Mwishowe siku ya kufanya mitihami ikafika akawa ameshindwa kufanya mitihani yake hiyo kwa sababu ya kuacha kujisomea kila siku katika kipindi cha uanafunzi wake. Ndiyo maana wenzake hao walimwambia kwamba, “leo ni leo asemaye kesho ni muongo.”

Methali hiyo hulinganishwa kwa mtu yule ambaye ni mvivu katika kufanya kazi kwenye familia yake katika maisha yake. Mtu huyo, huupoteza hovyo muda wake kwa kushinda akiwa amekaa tu, wakati wa kwenda kufanya kazi, kwa sababu ya uvivu wake huo. Yeye humaliza kipindi cha masika bila ya kuwa na chakula kwenye familia yake, kwa sababu ya kuupoteza hovyo muda wake huo wa kufanya kazi, maishani mwake.

Mtu huyo, hufanana na yule mwanafunzi wa imalabupina ambaye hakujisomea mpaga akashindwa kufanya mtihani wake ilipofika siku yake, kwa sababu naye hushinda akiwa amekaa tu, wakati wa kufanya kazi, mpaga mwishowe anakosa chakula katika familia yake, maishani mwake. Ndiyo maana watu humwambia kwamba, “leo ni leo asemaye kesho ni muongo.”

Methali hiyo hufundisha watu juu ya kuachana na uvivu kwa kuutumia vizuri muda katika kujibidisha kufanya kazi, ili waweze kupata mali nyingi za kuwasaidia vizuri, maishani mwao.

ENGLISH: TODAY IS TODAY WHOEVER SAYS TOMORROW IS A LIAR

The above proverb talks about the benefit of using the daily time well because each day has its own things. There was a student who was studying at Imalabupina school of Kishapu district in Shinyanga region.

This student was told by his colleagues that he should study well every day. But he was saying, “I will study for myself tomorrow.” At the end, the day of the exams came and he was unable to take them because he stopped studying every day during his given time at the school. That is why his colleagues told him that, “today is today, whoever says tomorrow is a liar.”

This proverb is compared to the person who is lazy in working at his family. Such person wastes his time by staying at home while sitting, instead of going to work, because of his laziness. He ends up suffering by not having food at his family, because of the waste of his working time in life.

This person, is similar to the student of Imalabubina who did not study for himself until he failed to pass his exams when the day came, because he also spends his time by sitting at his home, instead of working, at the end he lacks food in his family. That is why people tell him that, “today is today, whoever says tomorrow is a liar.”

This proverb teaches people to get rid of laziness by making good use of time in forcing themselves to work, so that they can get many assets which can nicely help them in their lives.
