Aliyo lulu, lushigu lumo agapandika likoye litale ilo lyalilya gumala bho gujinja ntugo ntale guti ng’ombe. Uweyi agiyangula gujinja ng’ombe kunguno ohayaga ab’ukinde wangu ub’ulugu bhunubho. Hunagwene agayomba giki, “b’ulugu b’o kula naje mumagogeja.”

Ulusumo lunulo, lugalenganijiyagwa kuli nsab’i uyo agajitumamilaga chiza isabho jakwe umukikalile kakwe kenako.  Unsab’i ng’wunuyo, agikolaga nuyo agajinja ng’ombe aho opandika likole litale mpaga ulimala wangu ilikoye linilo, kunguno nuweyi agajitumamilaga isabho jakwe ulu upandikaga likoye mpaga olimala wangu umuwikaji bhokwe bhunubho. Hunagwene agayombaga giki, “b’ulugu b’o kula naje mumagogeja.”

Ulusumo lunulo, lolanga bhanhu higulya ya gubhiza na witegeleja bho gujilanhana chiza isabho jabho kugiki ulu bhupandika makoye jidule gubhambilija ugugamala wangu amakoye genayo, umukaya jabho jinijo.

KISWAHILI: VITA IMEKUA KUBWA NIUZE NG’OMBE.

Hapo zamani alikuwepo mtu mmoja aliyekuwa tajiri wa mifugo. Mifugo hao waliokuwa pamoja na kuku, mbuzi, kondoo, na ng’ombe. Tajiri huyo alikuwa akiuza kuku au mbuzi akipata shida ndogo katika familia yake ili apate hela ya kuyatatulia kwa sababu ya umakini wake huo, katika maisha yake.

Lakini basi, siku moja tajiri huyo alipata tatizo kubwa lililohitaji kuuza mfugo mkubwa kama ng’ombe ili kupata pesa za kulitatulia. Yeye aliamua kuunza ng’ombe kwa sababu ya kutaka aishinde haraka vita hiyo. Ndiyo maana alisema kwamba, “vita imekua kubwa niuze ng’ombe.”

Methali hiyo, hulinganishwa kwa tajiri yule ambaye huzitumia vizuri mali zake katika maisha yake. Tajiri huyo, huzitunza vizuri mali zake hizo ili ziweze kumsaidia kuyamaliza haraka matatizo yatakayojitokeza kwenye familia yake hiyo, kwa sababu ya umakini wake huo, maishani mwake. Yeye huzitumia vizuri mali zake hizo mpaka anayamaliza haraka matatizo yanayojitokeza kwenye familia yake hiyo, kwa sababu ya umakini wake huo, katika maisha yake hayo.

Tajiri huyo, hufanana na yule aliyeuza ng’ombe alipopata tatizo kubwa mpaka akapata hela zilizomuwezesha kulitatua haraka, kwa sababu naye huzitumia mali zake kwa kuyatatua matatizo yanayoikumba familia yake hiyo mpaka anayamaliza haraka kwa sababu ya umakini wake huo, maishani mwake. Ndiyo maana yeye husema kwamba, “vita imekua kubwa niuze ng’ombe.”

Methali hiyo, hufundisha watu juu ya kuwa na umakini wa kuzitunza vizuri mali zao ili ziweze kuwasaidia katika kuyatatua haraka matatizo yatakayozikumba familia zao, maishani mwao.

ENGLISH: THE WAR HAS BECOME BIG, LET ME SELL THE COW.

Once upon a time, there was a man who was rich in domesticated animals. These animals included chickens, goats, sheep, and cows. He used to sell chickens or goats when he had minor hitches in his family for getting money which can solve them because of his thoughtfulness in his life.

But then, one day such rich man had an enormous difficult that required selling a large animal like a cow for getting enough money to solve it. He decided to bring a cow because he wanted to win the war quickly. That is why he said, “the war has become big, let me sell the cow.”

This proverb is related to a rich man who uses his wealth well in his life. This rich man takes upright care of his wealth so that it can support him quickly in solving hitches that will arise in his family, because of his responsiveness in his life. He uses his wealth well until he quickly solves the glitches which arise in his family, because of his thoughtfulness in his life.

This rich man resembles the one who sold his cow when he encountered a big delinquent until he got the money that enabled him to solve it quickly, because he also uses his wealth to solve the hitches which befall his family until he quickly solves them.That is why he says that, “the war has become big, let me sell the cow.”

This proverb imparts in individuals an idea of being so attentive enough to take decent care of their wealth so that they can support them in quickly solving glitches which will befall their families in their lives.

Uweyi agabhalelaga chiza abhanhu bha ha kaya yakwe kunguno ya witegeleja bhokwe bhunubho ubho gubhazugila jiliwa chiza abhanhu bhakwe bhenabho, umukikalile kakwe kenako.

Umunhu ng’wunuyo agikolaga nu ng’wendesha o munduka uyo wiyendeshaga chiza imunduka yakwe yiniyo, kunguno nuweyi agailanhanaga chiza ikaya yakwe bho gubhazugila jiliwa chiza abhanhu bhakwe bhenabho, umuwikaji bhokwe. Hunagwene agayombaga giki, “unene nalimpeja omunduka.”

Akahayile kenako kalanga manhu higulya ya gudebha gujilanhana chiza ikaya jabho bho gubhatongela chiza abhanhu bhabho, kugiki bhadule gujilela chiza ikaya jabho jinijo, umuwikaji bhokwe bhunubho.

KISWAHILI: MIMI N DREVA WA GARI.

Alikuwepo mtu aliyekuwa na kazi ya kuendesha gari. Mtu huyo aliiendedesha gari hiyo vizuri sana kwa sababu ya kuielewa vizuri kazi hiyo. Yeye alifanya kazi hiyo kwa muda wa miaka mingi sana kwa sababu aliipenda sana kazi hiyo, maishani mwake. Ndiyo maana aliwaambia watu kwamba, “mimi ni dreva wa gari.”

Msemo huo hulinganishwa kwa mwanamke yule ambaye huiongeza vyema familia yake katika maisha yake. Mwanamke huyo, huwapikia chakula vizuri watu walioko kwenye familia yake hiyo kwa sababu ya umakini wake huo, maishani mwake. Yeye huwalea vyema watu wa kwenye familia yake hiyo kwa sababu ya umakini wake huo wa kuwapikia watu wake chakula vizuri, katika maisha yake.

Mtu huyo, hufanana na yule aliyeendesha gari vizuri, kwa sababu naye huwaongoza watu wanaoishi kwenye familia yake vizuri, katika maisha yake hayo. Ndiyo maana yeye husema kwamba, “mimi ni dreva wa gari.”

Msemo huo, hufundisha watu juu ya kuwa na uelewa wa kuzitunza vyema familia zao kwa kuwaongoza watu wao vizuri, ili waweze kuzilea vyema familia zao hizo, maishani mwao.

ENGLISH: I AM A CAR DRIVER.

There was a man who had a job working as a driver. He drove the car very well because he understood such work well. He did that job for several years because he liked it so much in his life. That is why he told people that, “I am a car driver.”

This saying is matched to a woman who adds well to her family in her life. This woman cooks decent food for societal members in her family because of her attention in her life. She rears individuals in her family well because of her responsiveness to the cooking of decent food for her persons in her life.

This woman is like the one who drove the car well, because she also leads the public by living peacefully in her family, in his life. That is why she says that, “I am a car driver.”

This saying teaches folks about having decent understanding enough to take good care of their families by leading their people well, so that they can nurture their families well in their lives.

KISWAHILI: NICHANJE HARAKA HARAKA.

Msemo huo huongelea mtu aliyeumwa na mdudu kama Nje, Nyoka na wengine wengi walio na sumu. Mtu akiumwa na wadudu kama hao huchanjwa chale ili kuweza kutoa sumu ya mdudu huyo, kwa sababu inaweza kuhatarisha maisha ya mtu huo isipotolewa mapema. Ndiyo maana mtu huyo aliyeumwa na yule mdudu alisema kwamba, “nichanje haraka haraka.”

Msemo huo hulinganishwa kwa mtu yule ambaye huenda kutibiwa hositalini haraka akiumwa, katika maisha yake. Mtu huyo, huujali vizuri mwili wake kwa kuwahi kwenda hositalini kila anapougua, kwa sababu ya umakini wake huo wa kuujali mwili wake huo, maishani mwake. Yeye huwasaidia kupona haraka watu wanaoishi kwenye familia yake kwa kuwahisha kwenda kutibiwa hosipitalini wanapougua kwa sababu ya umakini wake huo, maishani mwake.

Mtu huyo, hufanana na yule aliyeumwa na mdudu akawahi kuchanjwa mpaka akapona haraka, kwa sababu naye huwahi kwenda kutibiwa hosipitalini akiumwa, maishani mwake. Ndiyo maana yeye husema kwamba, “nichanje haraka haraka.”

Msemo huo, hufundisha watu juu ya kuwa na umakini wa kuwahi kwenda kutibiwa hospitalini kila wanapoumwa ili waweze kupona haraka, maishani mwao

ENGLISH: QUICKLY CUT ME.

This saying refers to a person who has been bitten by an insect such as a snake, and several others which are poisonous. When a person is bitten by such insects, they are vaccinated to be able to remove the poison from such person, because it can endanger the life of that person if it is not removed early. That is why the person who was bitten by the insect said that, “quickly cut me.”

This saying is paralleled to somebody who goes to the hospital quickly after getting sick in his life. This person takes good care of his body by going to the hospital every time when he gets sick, because of his thoughtfulness of caring for his body in his life. He supports individuals who live in his family to recover quickly by sending them to the hospital when they get sick because of his responsiveness in his life.

This person is comparable to the one who was vaccinated until he recovered quickly after being bitten by an insect, because he also goes to the hospital when he gets sick in his life. That is why he says, “Quickly cut me.”

This saying imparts in persons a clue of being so cautious enough to go to the hospital whenever they are sick so that they can recover quickly in their lives

1344. GANGALA YA MAYOB’E.

Aho kale olihoyi munhu uyo oliosuga mayob’e aha kaya yake. Amayob’e genayo galigadalendaga aha kaya yakwe yiniyo kunguno ya gwikala gagulyaga jiliwe bhuli makanza. Agoyi gang’witilaga yombo bhuli makanza ung’wenego kunguno ya gukija gwifula ugudima. Hungwene abhanhu bhagagitana giki “gangala ya mayob’e.”

Akahayile kenako kagalenganijiyagwa kuli munhu uyo adalendaga aha kaya yakwe umukikalile kakwe. Umunhu ng’wunuyo agikalaga uyela muma kaya gabhanhu agucholaga jiliwa na guhoya bho nduhu nulu gutumama milimo aha ng’wakwe henaho umuwikaji bhokwe. Uweyi agadumaga uguilela chiza ikaya yakwe kunguno ya gwikala aguyungaga muma kaya ga bhangi, umuwikaji bhokwe.

Umunhu ng’wunuyo, agikolaga na mayob’e ayo galigadalendaga aha kaya, kunguno nuweyi agikalaga uyela muma kaya ga bhangi, bho nduhu uguitumama imilimo ya aha kaya yakwe yiniyo, umuwikaji bhokwe bhunubho. Hunagwene abhanhu bhagang’witanaga giki, “gangala ya mayob’e.”

Akahayile kenako, kalanga bhanhu higulya ya gwidiba mukaya jabho bho nduhu guyunga sagala muma kaya ga bhanhu, kugiki bhadule gujilela chiza ikaya jabho, umuwikaji bhobho bhunubho.

KISWAHILI: GHASIZA ZA PUNDA.

Hapo zamani alikuwepo mtu aliyefuga punda kwenye familia yake. Punda hao walikuwa wakitembea hovyo bila kutulia nyumbani kwa sababu ya kutokupumzika kula. Wenyewe walikuwa wakiwapigia kelele kila wakati kwa sababu ya kutokupumzika kula. Ndiyo maana watu waliwapa jina la “ghasia za punda.”

Msemo huo hulinganishwa kwa mtu yule ambaye huwa hatalii kwenye familia yake katika maisha yake. Mtu huyo, huwa anazurura kwa kutembelea nyumba za watu akitafuta chakula bila kufanya kazi katika familia yake hiyo, maishani mwake. Yeye hushindwa kuilea vyema familia yake kwa sababu ya kutumia hovyo muda katika kutembelea watu wengine, katika maisha yake.

Mtu huyo, hufanana na wale punda waliokuwa wakitembea hovyo bila ya kutulia nyumbani, kwa sababu naye hupoteza muda wake kwa kuwatembelea wenzake bila ya kufanya kazi nyumbani. Ndiyo maana watu humuita jila la “ghasia za punda.”

Msemo huo, hufundisha watu juu ya kutulia kwenye familia zao bila ya kupoteza muda wao kwa kuwatembelea watu hovyo, ili waweze kuzilea vyema familia zao hizo, maishani mwao.

ENGLISH: DONKEY RUDE.

Once upon a time, there was a man who kept donkeys in his family. These donkeys used to wander around without resting at home because they did not stop eating. They themselves used to shout at them all the time because of using all time for eating. That is why populaces called them “donkey rude.”

This saying is equated to a person who does not stay well with his family in his life. This person always wanders around visiting people’s houses looking for food to eat without working in his family. He fails to nurture his family well because he spends his time by visiting other folks, in his life.

This person resembles those donkeys who wandered around without resting at home, because he also wastes his time by visiting his colleagues without working at his home. That is why individuals call him the “donkey rude.”

This saying teaches people about settling down in their families without wasting their time by visiting public, so that they can rear their family members well in their lives.

Bhalihoyi bhanhu abho bhalinaga mulugulu ulo loli lulihu noyi. Abhanhu bhenabho bhagikomeja pye ugulina kunguno bhuli ng’wene ohayaga abhize ogwandya ugushiga ukwigulya kunuko. Hunagwene uumo obho aho oshiga koyi agabhawila abhiye giki, “nali mulugulu ng’wigulya.”

Akahayile kenako kagalenganijiyagwa kuli munhu uyo agabhatongelaga bhiye chiza umukikalile kakwe. Umunhu ng’wunuyo, abhatongelaga abhanhu bhakwe bho gwikomeja gutumama milimo chiza na gubhambilija abho bhali na makoye umuchalo jakwe kunguno ya bhutungilija bhokwe bhunubho, umuwikaji bhokwe. Uweyi agikalaga na bhanhu bhingi aha kaya yakwe kunguno ya bhutungilija bhokwe bhunubho umubhutongeji bhokwe.

Umunhu ng’wunuyo, agikolaga nuyo agabhatongela abhiye ugushiga ukwigulya ya lugulu, kunguno nuweyi agabhatongelaga abhanhu bhakwe uguita imihayo iyawiza, umuwikaji bhokwe. Hunagwene agayombaga giki, “nali mulugulu ng’wigulya.”

Akahayile kenako kalanga bhatongeji bha bhanhu higulya ya gubhiza na witegeleja bho gubhatongela abhanhu bhabho gutumama milimo yabho chiza, kugiki bhadule gwikala na bhuyegi bhutale umukaya jabho.

KISWAHILI: NIKO MLIMANI JUU.

Walikuwepo watu waliokuwa wakipanda mlima uliokuwa mrefu sana. Watu hao walijibidisha wote katika kuupanda mlima huo kwa sababu kila mmoja wao alitaka kuwa wa kwanza kufika juu ya mlima huo. Ndiyo maana mmoja wao alipofisha kule juu aliwaambia wenzake kwamba, “niko mlimani juu.”

Msemo huo hulinganishwa kwa mtu yule ambaye huwaongoza wenzake vizuri, katika maisha yake. Mtu huyo, huwaongoza watu kwa kujibidisha kufanya kazi vizuri na kuwasaidia watu wanaosumbuliwa na matatizo mbalimbali, kwa sababu ya uaminifu wake huo maishani mwake. Yeye huishi na watu wengi katika familia yake kwa sababu ya uaminifu wake huo katika uongozi wake.

Mtu huyo hufanana na yule aliyewatangulia wenzake kufika juu ya ule mlima, kwa sababu naye huwaongoza watu wake katika kufanya kazi vizuri na kutenda mema, maishani mwake. Ndiyo maana yeye husema kwamba, “niko mlimani juu.”

Msemo huo huwafundisha viongozi wa watu juu ya kuwa na uaminifu wa kuongoza watu wao katika kufanya kazi zao vizuri na kutenda mema, ili waweze kuishi kwa kufuraha kubwa, katika familia zao.

ENGLISH: I AM ON THE MOUNTAIN.

There were individuals who were climbing a very high mountain. They all worked hard to climb it because each of them wanted to be the first to reach on its peak. That is why when one of them reached it, he told his friends that, “I am on the mountain.”

This saying is matched to an individual who leads his friends well in his life. This man leads general public by working hard enough to support his people who are suffering from various hitches, because of his honesty in life. He lives with various persons in his family because of his honesty in his leadership.

This person is like the one who preceded his friends to reach the top of the mountain, because he also leads his individuals in working well by doing respectable deeds in his life. That is why he says, “I am on the mountain.”

This saying instills in public’s leaders a clue on being honest in leading their societies by doing their jobs well and good, so that they can live with great joy in their families.
