Imbuki ya kahayile kenako ilolile winhiwa bho bhutale bho ng’wa munhu nhebhe. Olihoyi munhu uyo ong’winhaga bhutale munhu uyo oliandebhile.  Aho lyashika ilikanza, umunhu ng’winuyo agabhona bhaliza bhanhu bhangi abho adabhahayile mpaga nose ubhawila giki bhanjile ung’winikili bhutale bhunubho. Hunagwene agabhalema abhangi bhenabho bho guyomba giki, “abhangi nduhu.”

KISWAHILI: WENGINE HAPANA.

Chanzo cha msemo huo, huangalia upewaji wa ukubwa wa mtu fulani. Alikuwepo mtu aliyeenda akimpatia ukubwa mtu aliyekuwa anamfahamu. Ulipofika ule wakati, mtu huyo aliona watu wengine wanafika kwake wale ambao hakuwataka mpaka mwishowe aliwaambia watu wamfuate mwenye ukubwa huo. Ndiyo maana aliwakataa wengine kwa kusema kwamba, “wengine hapana.”

Msemo huo hulinganishwa kwa mtu yule ambaye hupewa kazi na kuzitekeleza vizuri kama inavyotakiwa, katika maisha yake. Mtu huyo, huzielewa vizuri kazi anazopewa ndipo anazitekeleza vizuri kwa sababu ya unyoofu wake huo wa kutenda haki, maishani mwake. Yeye huwafundisha watu wa kwenye familia yake kufanya kazi zao vizuri, kwa sababu ya unyoofu wake huo wa kutenda haki, katika maisha yake.

Mtu huyo, hufanana na yule aliyeenda kumpatia ukubwa yule aliyemfahamu akahakikisha kuwa anampatia mwenye ukubwa huo, kwa sababu naye huzitekeza vizuri kazi anazopewa na wenzake, maishani mwake. Ndiyo maana watu huwakataa wengine kwa kusema kwamba, “wengine hapana.”

Msemo huo, hufundisha watu juu ya kuwa na unyoofu wa kutenda haki kwa kuyatekeleza vizuri majukumu yao, ili waweze kuziendeleza vizuri familia zao, maishani mwao.

ENGLISH: OTHERS ARE NOT.

This saying looks at a given leadership of a certain person. There was a person who went to give a leadership to someone whom he knew. When that time came, such man saw other people coming to him whom he did not know until finally he told all people to follow the chosen one. That is why he rejected others by saying, “others are not.”

This saying is related to a person who is given tasks and performs them well as they are required be done in his life. Such person understands well the tasks which are given to him and then he executes them well because of his sincerity of doing justice in his life. He teaches him family members on how to correctly do their jobs, because of his honesty in his life.

This person resembles the one who went to give leadership to someone whom he knew and made sure that he gives it to such chosen one, because he also performs well the tasks which are given to him by his colleagues in his life. That is why people reject others by saying, “others are not.”

This saying imparts in people a clue of being honesty enough to do justice to their societal members by performing their duties well, so that they can quickly advance their families in their lives.

Uweyi agapandikaga matwajo mingi aha kaya yakwe kunguno ya kujitumamila chiza ijikolo jakwe jinijo, umumilimo yakwe.

KISWAHILI: TUUINULIE VICHWA.

Chanzo cha msemo huo, huangalia ulaji wa chakula wa watu. Watu wanapokula chakula huinua vichwa vyao ndipo wanameza kwa sababu haiwezekani kumeza chakula hicho wakiwa wameinama. Ndiyo maana watu wanapokula huhimizana kwa kusema kwamba, “tuuinulie vichwa.”

Msemo huo hulinganishwa kwa mtu yule ambaye huvitumia vizuri vitu vyake kama vinavyotakiwa kutumiwa, katika maisha yake. Mtu huyo, huvifanyia utafiti wa kutosha kuvielewa vizuri vitu vyake hivyo ndipo anaanza kuvitumia kwa sababu ya umakini wake huo, maishani mwake. Yeye hupata mafanikio mengi katika familia yake kwa sababu ya kuvitumia vizuri vitu vyake hivyo, katika maisha yake.

Mtu huyo, hufanana na wale waliokuwa wakiviinue vichwa vyao ndipo wanavimeza vyakula walivyokuwa wanakula, kwa sababu naye huvitumia vitu vyake vizuri kama vinavyotakiwa kutumiwa, maishani mwake. Ndiyo maana huwaambia watu kwamba, “tuuinulie vichwa.”

Msemo huo, hufundisha watu juu ya kuwa na umakini wa kuvifanyia vitu vyao utafiti wa kutosha kuvielewa vizuri, ndipo waanze kuvitumia ili viweze kuwasaidia vizuri katika kuzitunza familia zao, maishani mwao.

ENGLISH: LET US LIFT UP OUR HEADS FOR IT.

The source of this saying stares at people’s food intake. When people eat food raise their head for swallowing because it is impossible to swallow such food while bending down. That is why when they eat, encourage each other by saying, “Let us lift up our heads for it.”

This saying is paralleled to a man who uses his belongings well as they are supposed to be used, in his life. Such person does good research enough to understand his possessions well and then he starts using them nicely because of his thoughtfulness, in his life. He gets a lot of success in his family because of using his properties well, in his life.

This person is similar to those who used to raise their heads while swallowing the food which they ate, because he also courteously uses his possessions as they should be used, in his life. That is why he tells people that, “Let us lift up our heads for it.”

This saying instills in people an idea of being careful to enough do research on their possessions for understanding them well, then they start using them so that these possessions can help them well in taking care of their families in their lives.

Hunagwene abhanhu bhagayombaga giki, “lyabhita ilikumbo.”

Akahayile kenako kagalenganijiyagwa kuli munhu uyo agabhahugulaga abhiye bhaleke nhungwa jabhubhi, umukikalile kakwe. Umunhu ng’wunuyo alina nhungwa jawiza ijagubhahugula abhiye abho bhagitaga miito gabhubhi, bhayileke iyabhubhi yiniyo bho gwita yawiza, kunguno ya bhutogwa ubho alinabho ikubhiye bhenabho, umuwikaji bhokwe. KISWAHILI: UMEPITA UFAGIO.

Chanzo cha msemo huo huongelea juu ya ufagio. Ufagio huo ni kitu cha kufagia takataka kwa kuiondoa pale isipotakiwa kuwepo ili pale papendeze. Takataka hiyo yaweza kuwepo kwenye sehemu ya kupigia mtama, kwenye matama wenyewe au popote pale isipotakiwa kuwepo. Pale ambapo ufagio huo umepita hupendeza vizuri. Ndiyo maana watu husema kwamba, “umepita ufagio.”

Msemo huo, hulinganishwa kwa mtu yule ambaye huwarekebisha wengine waache tabia ya kutenda maovu, katika maisha yake. Mtu huyo, anatabia njema ya kumwezesha kuwarekebisha wengine ili waache matendo maovu kwa kutenda mema, kwa sababu ya upendo alionao kwa wenzake hayo, maishani mwake. Yeye hufanikiwa kuwalea vyema watu wanaoishi kwenye familia yake, kwa sababu ya tabia yake hiyo njema, katika maisha yake.

Mtu huyo, hufanana na ule ufagio uliofagia takataka mpaka sehemu hiyo ikawa safi, kwa sababu naye huwalekebisha wenzake waache kutenda maovu, kwa kutenda mema, maishani mwake. Ndiyo maana watu humwambia kwamba, “umepita ufagio.”

Msemo huo, hufundisha watu juu ya kuwa na tabia njema ya kuwawezesha kuwarekebisha wenzao waache kutenda maovu kwa kutenda mema, ili waweze kuzilea vyema familia zao, maishani mwao.

ENGLISH: THE BROOM HAS PASSED.

The source of this saying talks about a broom. This broom is something which people use for sweeping garbage by removing them where they are not supposed to be, so that such area becomes clean. The garbage can be in the millet field, dams themselves or anywhere where it should not be. When the broom has passed, such place appears good. That is why people say that, “the broom has passed.”

This saying is compared to a man who corrects others enough to make them stop doing evil habits in life. He has a good attitude that enables him to correct others so that they can stop doing wicked deeds by doing good ones, because of true love which he has to his colleagues in life. He manages to nurture well all people who live in his family, because of his good character in his life.

This person is like a broom that sweeps away the garbage until that portion becomes clean, because he also directs his colleagues enough to stop them from doing evil by doing good deeds in life. That is why people tell him that, “the broom has passed.”

This saying instills in people a clue  on having good deeds enough to enable them correctly lead their dukes in stop doing evil by doing good deeds, so that they can raise well their family members in their lives.

Mtu huyo, huitafuta mali hiyo kwa bidii kubwa ya kutekeleza majukumu yake mpaga anaipata kwa sababu ya kujibidisha kutafuta kwa uvumilivu wake huo, maishani mwake. Yeye hutajirika kwa kupata mali nyingi sana katika familia yake kwa sababu ya uvumilifu wake huo wa kujibidisha kufanya kazi vizuri, katika maisha yake.

Mtu huyo, hufanana na yule aliyetafuta gari za kusafiria akapata gari moshi lililompeleka mpaga kwa ndugu zake, kwa sababu naye hujibidisha kutafuta mali mpaga anazipata, maishani mwake. Ndiyo maana watu humwambia kwamba, “amekutana na lenye miguu mingi.”

Msemo huo, hufundisha watu juu ya kuwa na uvumilivu wa kujibidisha kufanya kazi vizuri mpaka wanazimaliza, ili waweze kupata mafanikio mengi, maishani mwao.

There was a man who planned a journey for greeting his brothers. He started looking for a car that can take him there because it was too far. While he was searching for that, he met the one which has many legs which is called train because it has many legs. He boarded it which transported him to his brothers without any glitch because it can carry many people. That is why people said that, “he has met the one which has many legs.”

This saying is matched to a person who looks for riches which he finds in life. Such person looks for that wealth with great effort enough to carry out his duties, but he gets it because he searches for it with his patience, in his life. He gets rich by getting a lot of wealth in his family because of his perseverance that is strong enough to work well, in his life.

This person resembles the one who looked for traveling car and found a train that took him to his brothers, because he also struggles to find wealth which he finds in his life. That is why people tell him that, “he has met the one which has many legs.”

This saying teaches people about having strong patience enough to work hard until they finish their works, so that they can get a lot of success in their lives.

Yeye huzimalizia mali za kwenye familia yake katika kutatua matatizo hayo kwa sababu ya tabia yake hiyo mbaya katika maisha yake.

Mtu huyo, hufanana na yule aliyezinywea pombe mali zake mpaga akashindwa kutembea, kwa sababu naye huzitumia hovyo mali zake kwa kuzinunulia vitu ambavyo humletea matatizo, maishani mwake. Ndiyo maana watu humuita jina la “mpiga pombe.”

He drinks until he loses strength for walking on his own. People take him to his house by carrying him. That is why people call him the name an “an alcoholic beater.”

This saying is related to a man who spends his wealth carelessly in his life. Such person uses his possessions for buying things that cause him hitches, including those of arguing with people because of his evil deeds in his life. He spends his family’s riches for solving these hitches because of his wicked deeds in his life.

This person is similar to the one who drank his prosperity and became unable to walk, because he uses his fortune carelessly to buy things that cause him difficulties in his life. That is why people call him the name “an alcoholic beater.”

This saying imparts in people an idea of of having a good attitude enough to help them in using their resources suitably, so that they can nurture their families in their lives.
