KISWAHILI: ANA UGONJWA WA MACHO.

Mtu mwenye ugonjwa wa macho huwa na macho mekundu. Mtu huyo, hutoa uchafu mweupe machoni kwenye macho yake kwa sababu ya kuuma kwa macho hayo. Yeye hukosa raha mpaka mwishowe wenzake humtafutia njia za kumsaidia ili aweze kupona haraka. Ndiyo maana wao husema kwamba, “ana ugonjwa wa macho.”

Msemo huo hulinganishwa kwa mtu yule ambaye huwaonea huruma wagonjwa kwa kuwasaidia, katika maisha yake. Mtu huyo, huwahurumia wagonjwa hao kwa kutafuta njia za kuwasaidia ili waweze kupona haraka kwa sababu ya huruma yake hiyo, maishani mwake. Yeye huwasaidia wagonjwa hao mpaka wanapona haraka kwa kuwapeleka hospitalini, kwa sababu ya huruma yake hiyo, katika maisha yake.

Mtu huyo, hufanana na wale waliotafuta njia za kumsaidia yule mgonjwa wa macho, kwa sababu naye huwasaidia wagonjwa kwa kuwapeleka kwenye matibabu mpaka wanapona haraka, maishani mwake. Ndiyo maana humwelezea mjonjwa kwamba, “ana ugonjwa wa macho.”

Msemo huo, hufundisha watu juu kuwa na huruma ya kuwasaidia wagonjwa wao ili waweze kupona haraka, katika maisha yao.

ENGLISH: HE HAS AN EYE DISEASE.

There was person who had an eye disease in a certain village. His eyes became red.  He produced white discharge from his eyes because of pain which he felt from them. He was uncomfortable until finally his colleagues found ways of supporting him so that he could recover quickly. That is why they said that, “he has an eye disease.”

This saying is equaled to a person who feels compassion for sick people enough to assist them in his life. This person feels sympathy for those who face various hitches by finding ways of supporting them so that they can recover quickly because of his kindness in his life. He supports the sick ones until they recover quickly by taking them to the hospital, because of his compassion in life.

This person is similar to those who found ways of supporting the eye patient, because he also aids sick persons by taking them to treatment until they recover quickly in his life. That is why he describes the patient that, “he has an eye disease.”

This saying imparts in individuals an idea of having compassion which enable them to support their patients so that they can recover quickly in their lives.

Akahayile kenako kahoyelile munhu uyo agakeleja gushiga aha jiliwa mpaka usanga abhiye bhajilyaga ijiliwa jinijo. Umunhu ng’wunuyo, ahosanga abhiye bhajilyaga ijiliwa jinijo kunguno ya bhukeleja bhokwe bhunubho abhazugi bhaganzugila jiliwa jingi. Hunagwene abhanhu bhagang’wila giki, “b’ob’itiwa mushiloko.”

Uweyi agapandikaga mbango ja gwikala na bhanhu bhingi aha kaya yakwe yiniyo, kunguno ya wizanholo bhokwe bhunubho, umukikalile kakwe.

Umunhu ng’wunuyo, agikolaga nabho bhaganzugila jiliwa umunhu uyo agasanga bhajilyaga ijiliwa jinijo abhiye, kunguno nuweyi alinawizanholo bho gubhazugila jiliwa abhanhu bhakwe pye na bhageni bha ha kaya yakwe yiniyo, umuwikaji bhokwe bhunubho. Hunagwene agabhawilaga abho bhagasangaga jaliyagwa ijiliwa giki, “b’ob’itiwa mushiloko.”

Akahayile kenako kalanga bhanhu higulya ya gubhiza na wizanholo bho gubhitila yawiza abhanhu bhabho, kugiki bhadule kupandika mbango ja gwikala na bhuyegi bhutale umukaya jabho, umuwikaji bhobho bhunubho.

KISWAHILI: UMEPITISHWA KOONI.

Msemo huo huongelea juu ya mtu aliyechelewa kufika kwenye chakula mpaga akakuta wenzake wamekula. Mtu huyo, alipokuta wenzake wamekwisha kula kwa sababu ya kuchelewa kwake wapishi waliamua kumpikia chakula kingine. Ndiyo maana watu walimwambia kwamba, “umepitishwa kooni.”

Msemo huo, hulinganishwa kwa mtu yule ambaye ana ukarimu wa kuwatunza vizuri watu, katika maisha yake. Mtu huyo, huwatunza watu wake hao pamoja na wageni wake kwa kuwapikia chakula, kwa sababu ya ukarimu wake huo, maishani mwake. Yeye hupata baraka za kuishi na watu wengi kwa furaha katika familia yake hiyo, kwa sababu ya ukarimu wake huo, katika maisha yake hayo.

Mtu huyo, hufanana na wale wapishi waliompikia chakula mtu yule aliyechelewa kufika kwenye chakula mpaga akakuta wenzake wamemaliza kula, kwa sababu naye ana ukarimu wa kuwatunza kwa kuwapikia chakula watu wake pamoja na wageni wake. Ndiyo maana yeye husema kwamba, “umepitishwa kooni.”

Msemo huo, hufundisha watu juu ya kuwa na ukarimu wa kuwatendea mema watu wao pamoja na wageni wao wote, ili waweze kupata baraka za kuishi kwa furana kubwa katika familia zao, maishani mwao.

ENGLISH: IT HAS BEEN PASSED THROUGH AN ESOPHAGUS.

This proverb talks about a person who arrived late to a meal and found that his companions had already eaten. When he found that his companions had already eaten because of his delay, the cooks decided to cook another meal for him. That is why people said to him that, “it has been passed through an esophagus.”

This proverb is matched to the one who is generous in taking decent care of people in his life. This person takes care of his people as well as guests by cooking food for them, because of his generosity. He gets blessings of living happily with several populaces in his family, because of his generosity in his life.

This person is like those cooks who cooked food for the one who arrived late to a meal and found that his companions had finished eating, because he also has kindness of taking care of his folks and guests by cooking food for them. That is why he says, “it has been passed through an esophagus.”

This proverb teaches people on how to be generous by doing decent deeds to their own societal members and all their strangers, so that they can receive blessings from God for living in great abundance in their families.

Aho kale olihoyi munhu uyo wikalaga muchalo ja B’ub’inza. Umunhu ng’wunuyo oyombaga mihayo ya nhana noyi aliyo lulu abhiye bhamanaga bhumbyedeleja duhu kunguno ya libhengwe lyabho linilo. Umunhu ng’wunuyo wiyumilijaga bho gubhashogeja chiza abhanhu bhenabho. Hunagwene agabhawila giki, “aliyo nadudogolaga.”

Akahayile kenako kagalenganijiyagwa kuli munhu uyo agikalaga nikujo kubhanhu bhakwe umukikalile kakwe kenako. Umunhu ng’wunuyo, agabhitilaga mihayo ya wiza abhanhu bhakwe bho nduhu gubhadaraha sagala kunguno ya likujo lyakwe linilo umuwikaji bhokwe bhunubho. Uweyi agikalaga na bhuyeji bhutale na bhanhu bha aha kaya yakwe kunguno ya widohya bhokwe bhunubho ubho gwikala chiza nabhiye, umukikalile kakwe kenako.

Umunhu ng’wunuyo agikolaga nuyo obhashokeja chiza abhanhu abho bhambyedelejaga ulu aliiyomba imihayo iya nhana, kunguno nuweyi agabhitilaga mihayo ikujo abhanhu bhakwe bho nduhu gubhadaraha sagala, umuwikaji bhokwe bhunubho. Hunagwene agayombaga gki, “aliyo nadudogolaga.”

Akahayile kenako kalanga bhanhu higulya ya kubhiza na widohya bho gwikala nikujo ukubhanhu bhabho kugiki bhadule gujilela chiza  ikaya jabho jinijo, umuwikaji bhobho.

KISWAHILI: SISEMI KWA DHARAU.

Hapo zamani alikuwepo mtu aliyeishi katika kijiji cha Bubinza. Mtu hiyo alikuwa akisema ukweli lakini wenzake walikuwa wakimdharau kwa sababu ya dharau zao hizo. Mtu huyo, alivumilia kwa kuwajibi vizuri watu hao. Ndiyo maana alisema kwamba, “sisemi kwa dharau.”

Msemo huo, hulinganishwa kwa mtu yule anayewaheshimu watu wake katika maisha yake. Mtu huyo, huwatendea mema watu hao hao bila ya kuwadharau kwa sababu ya unyenyekevu wake huo wa kuwaheshimu watu wake hao, maishani mwake. Yeye huishi kwa furaha kubwa na watu wa kwenye familia yake hiyo, kwa sababu ya unyenyekevu wake huo wa kuwaheshimu watu wake, katika maisha yake hayo.

Mtu huyo, hufanana na yule aliyewajibu kwa heshiwa watu waliomdharau alipowaambia ukweli, kwa sababu naye huwatendea mema watu wake bila ya kuwadharau, maishani mwake. Ndiyo maana yeye husema kwamba, “sisemi kwa dharau.”

Msemo huo, hufundisha watu juu ya kuwa na unyenyekevu wa kuwaheshimu watu wao ili waweze kuzilea vyema familia zao hizo, maishani mwao.

ENGLISH: I DO NOT SPEAK WITH DISRESPECT.

Once upon a time, there was a man who lived in the village of Bubinza. He spoke the truth but his earls disrespected him because of their impudence. Such man endured their lack of respect by responding politely to them. That is why he said that, “I do not speak with disrespect.”

This saying is related to a man who respects his family members in his life. This man nicely treats folks without disrespecting them because of his humility of regarding people in his life. He lives with great happiness with his family members, because of his humility of valuing them in his life.

This man resembles the one who responded respectfully to people who disrespected him when he told them the truth, because he also politely treats his people without disrespecting them in his life. That is why he says, “I do not speak with disrespect.”

This saying imparts in societal members an idea of being humble enough to respect their societal members so that they can nicely nurture their families in their lives.

Akahayile kenako kalolile mitugo ijo jigadimagwa hangitili iyo idinahaya guding’waa nulu kamo. Imitugo jinijo aho jashiga umungitili iliyo jigigulambija gudima bho bhuyegi kunguno jali jatuubha noyi. Hunagwene abhanhu bhagayomba giki, “gagwa mangetule.”

Akahayile kenako kagalenganijiyagwa kuli munhu uyo agatubhaga opandika majiliwa mingi umukikalile kakwe. Umunhu ng’wunuyo, agapandikaga amajiliwa genayo wigulambija kugalya bho bhukamu bhutale kunguno ya gwikala alinzala gufumile likanza lilihu umuwikaji bhokwe bhunubho. Uweyi agajilyaga mpaga ojimala ijiliwa ijo agajipandikaga jinijo kunguno ya gwikala shigu ningi adalile, umukikalile kakwe kenako.

Umunhu ng’wunuyo agikolaga ni mitugo ijo jalijituubhile jigulambija gulya maswa mpaga jiguta aho jachalwa ukungitili, kunguno nuweyi apandikaga jiliwa ulu otubhaga wigulambija gujilya mpaga wiguta, umuwikaji bhokwe bhunubho. Hunagwene abhanhu bhaganhayaga giki, “gagwa mangetule.”

Akahayile kenako kalanga bhanhu higulya ya gubhiza na witegeleja bho gujilamhana chiza ijiiwa ijo bhagajipandikaga kugiki jidule gubhambilija chiza aha shigu jahabhutongi, umubhulamu bhobho bhunubho.

KISWAHILI: IMEANGUKA BAHATI.

Msemo huo, huangalia mifugo waliochungia kwenye hazina ya nyasi nyingi ambazo hawajachungua mifugo hata mara moja. Mifugo hao, walipofika kwenye nyasi hizo nyingi, walijibidisha kula kwa furaha kwa sababu walikuwa wana njaa ya kukosa chakula kwa muda wa siku nyingi. Ndiyo maana watu walisema kwamba, “imeanguka bahati.”

Msemo huo, hulinganishwa kwa mtu yule aliye na njaa akapata chakula kingi katika maisha yake. Mtu huyo, hupata chakula hicho na kujibidisha kula kwa nguvu sana kwa sababu ya kukaa bila kula kwa muda mrefu, maishani mwake. Yeye hula chakula alichokipata mpaka anakimaliza, kwa sababu ya kukaa muda mrefu bila ya kula chakula, katika maisha yake.

Mtu huyo, hufanana na wale mifugo waliokuwa na njaa kwa muda mrefu wakapata nyasi na kujibidisha kuzila mpaka wakazimaliza, kwa sababu naye hupata chakula akiwa na njaa na kukila mpaka akakimaliza, maishani mwake. Ndiyo maana watu humwambia kwamba, “imenguka bahati.”

Msemo huo, hufundisha watu juu ya kuwa na umakini wa kukitunza vizuri chakula wanachokipata ili kiweze kuwasaidia katika siku zao za mbeleni, maishani mwao.

ENGLISH: LUCK HAS FALLEN.

This proverb refers to cattle that grazed in a treasure of a lot of grasses which they have never grazed before. When these cattle reached those grasses they happily ate it all because they were hungry for not having eaten for several days. That is why people said that, “luck has fallen.”

This proverb is equated to a hungry man one who finds a lot of food in his life. This person finds food and forces himself to eat very hard because of not eating for a long time in his life. He eats such food until he finishes it because of being hungry for a long time in his life.

This person is like those cattle that ate grasses which they found after being hungry for a long time because he also finds food when he is hungry and eats it until he finishes it in his life. That is why people say to him, “luck has fallen.”

This proverb teaches individuals on how to be cautious to take virtuous care of food which they get so that it can help them in their future days in their lives.

1347. B’ULUGU B’O KULA NAJE MUMAGOGEJA.

Aho kale alihoyi munhu uyo olinsab’i o mitugo. Imitugo jinijo jalikihamo na ngoko, mbuli, nholo na ng’ombe. Unsab’i ng’wunuyo, ojinjaga nkoko nulu mbuli ulu opandikaga ikoye idoo aha kaya yakwe kugiki adule kupandika hela ja gulimalila wantgu, kunguno ya witegeleja bhokwe bhunubho umukikalile kakwe.

Aliyo lulu, lushigu lumo agapandika likoye litale ilo lyalilya gumala bho gujinja ntugo ntale guti ng’ombe. Uweyi agiyangula gujinja ng’ombe kunguno ohayaga ab’ukinde wangu ub’ulugu bhunubho. Hunagwene agayomba giki, “b’ulugu b’o kula naje mumagogeja.”

Ulusumo lunulo, lugalenganijiyagwa kuli nsab’i uyo agajitumamilaga chiza isabho jakwe umukikalile kakwe kenako. Unsab’i ng’wunuyo, agajilanhanaga chiza isabho jakwe kugiki jidule gung’wambilija ugugamala wangu amakoye ayo galampandike aha kaya yakwe yiniyo, kunguno ya witegeleja bhokwe bhunubho umuwikaji bhokwe. Uweyi agajitumamilaga chiza isabho jakwe jinijo ulu opandikaga makoye aha kaya yakwe mpaga ogamala wangu kunguno ya witegeleja bhokwe bhunubho, umukikalile kakwe kenako.

 Unsab’i ng’wunuyo, agikolaga nuyo agajinja ng’ombe aho opandika likole litale mpaga ulimala wangu ilikoye linilo, kunguno nuweyi agajitumamilaga isabho jakwe ulu upandikaga likoye mpaga olimala wangu umuwikaji bhokwe bhunubho. Hunagwene agayombaga giki, “b’ulugu b’o kula naje mumagogeja.”

Ulusumo lunulo, lolanga bhanhu higulya ya gubhiza na witegeleja bho gujilanhana chiza isabho jabho kugiki ulu bhupandika makoye jidule gubhambilija ugugamala wangu amakoye genayo, umukaya jabho jinijo.

 Mathayo 6:19-34.

KISWAHILI: VITA IMEKUA KUBWA NIUZE NG’OMBE.

Hapo zamani alikuwepo mtu mmoja aliyekuwa tajiri wa mifugo. Mifugo hao waliokuwa pamoja na kuku, mbuzi, kondoo, na ng’ombe. Tajiri huyo alikuwa akiuza kuku au mbuzi akipata shida ndogo katika familia yake ili apate hela ya kuyatatulia kwa sababu ya umakini wake huo, katika maisha yake.

Lakini basi, siku moja tajiri huyo alipata tatizo kubwa lililohitaji kuuza mfugo mkubwa kama ng’ombe ili kupata pesa za kulitatulia. Yeye aliamua kuunza ng’ombe kwa sababu ya kutaka aishinde haraka vita hiyo. Ndiyo maana alisema kwamba, “vita imekua kubwa niuze ng’ombe.”

Methali hiyo, hulinganishwa kwa tajiri yule ambaye huzitumia vizuri mali zake katika maisha yake. Tajiri huyo, huzitunza vizuri mali zake hizo ili ziweze kumsaidia kuyamaliza haraka matatizo yatakayojitokeza kwenye familia yake hiyo, kwa sababu ya umakini wake huo, maishani mwake. Yeye huzitumia vizuri mali zake hizo mpaka anayamaliza haraka matatizo yanayojitokeza kwenye familia yake hiyo, kwa sababu ya umakini wake huo, katika maisha yake hayo.

Tajiri huyo, hufanana na yule aliyeuza ng’ombe alipopata tatizo kubwa mpaka akapata hela zilizomuwezesha kulitatua haraka, kwa sababu naye huzitumia mali zake kwa kuyatatua matatizo yanayoikumba familia yake hiyo mpaka anayamaliza haraka kwa sababu ya umakini wake huo, maishani mwake. Ndiyo maana yeye husema kwamba, “vita imekua kubwa niuze ng’ombe.”

Methali hiyo, hufundisha watu juu ya kuwa na umakini wa kuzitunza vizuri mali zao ili ziweze kuwasaidia katika kuyatatua haraka matatizo yatakayozikumba familia zao, maishani mwao.

ENGLISH: THE WAR HAS BECOME BIG, LET ME SELL THE COW.

Once upon a time, there was a man who was rich in domesticated animals. These animals included chickens, goats, sheep, and cows. He used to sell chickens or goats when he had minor hitches in his family for getting money which can solve them because of his thoughtfulness in his life.

But then, one day such rich man had an enormous difficult that required selling a large animal like a cow for getting enough money to solve it. He decided to bring a cow because he wanted to win the war quickly. That is why he said, “the war has become big, let me sell the cow.”

This proverb is related to a rich man who uses his wealth well in his life. This rich man takes upright care of his wealth so that it can support him quickly in solving hitches that will arise in his family, because of his responsiveness in his life. He uses his wealth well until he quickly solves the glitches which arise in his family, because of his thoughtfulness in his life.

This rich man resembles the one who sold his cow when he encountered a big delinquent until he got the money that enabled him to solve it quickly, because he also uses his wealth to solve the hitches which befall his family until he quickly solves them.That is why he says that, “the war has become big, let me sell the cow.”

This proverb imparts in individuals an idea of being so attentive enough to take decent care of their wealth so that they can support them in quickly solving glitches which will befall their families in their lives.
