888. NDUHU UCHIMBA O NG’WAKA.

Ochimba ali munhu uyo alinfuuji  o lombo uyo agabhalagilaga abhalingi b’a ndimu ja mumapolu. Umunhu ng’wunuyo, agabhahangilaga abhalingi bhenabho bho gub’awila giki bhagandya gub’ulaga ndimu ndebhe. Uweyi agadeb’aga kunguno yigab’izaga chene nhana makanza gangi. Aliyo lulu, nduhu umani o ng’waka uogugumana igiki gugub’iza na mbula nulu nduhu. Hunagwene abhanhu bhagayombaga giki, “nduhu uchimba o ng’waka.”

Ulusumo lunulo, lugalenganijiyagwa kuli munhu uyo alina widohya bho gung’wisanya Mulungu, umubhutumami bhokwe. Umunhu ng’wunuyo, agigulambijaga kutumama milimo yakwe iyo ayidulile na gunnekela Mulungu iyo ikililile ubhudula bhokwe, umukikalile kakwe. Uweyi agabhalangaga na bhiye ahigulya ya gubhiza na widohya bhunubho ubho guitumama chiza imilimo iyo bhayidujije, na gunnekela Mulungu iyo bhadayidujije, umubhutumami bhobho.

Umunhu ng’wunuyo, agikolaga nu chimba uyo obhahangilaga abhalingi bhakwe bho nduhu ugubhawila ginhu umo guli ung’waka, kunguno nu weyi agigulambijaga uguitumama chiza imilimo iyo ayidulile bho gunnekela Mulungu iyo adaidulile, umubhutumami bhokwe. Hunagwene agabhawilaga abhanhu giki, “nduhu uchimba o ng’waka.”

Ulusumo lunulo, lolanga bhanhu higulya ya gub’iza na widohya bho gwigulambija guitumama chiza imilimo yabho bho gung’wisanya Mulungu uyo adulile yose, kugiki bhadule kupandika matwajo mingi, umubhutumami bhobho.

KISWAHILI: HAKUNA MTABIRI WA MWAKA.

Mtabiri wa wawindaji wa wanyama poli ni mpulizaji wa filimbi ambaye huwaaga wanapoenda kuwinda. Mtu huyo, huwatabiria wawindaji hao kwa kuwaambia juu ya mnyama fulani watakaeanza kumuua. Yeye hupatia kwa sababu wakati mwingine huwa hivyo kweli. Lakini basi, hakuna anayefahamu kuutabiri mwaka kama utakuwa na mvua na hakuna. Ndiyo maana watu husema kwamba, “hakuna mtabiri wa mwaka.”

Methali hiyo, hulinganishwa kwa mtu yule ambaye ana unyenyekevu wa kumtegemea Mungu, katika utekelezaji wa majukumu yake. Mtu huyo, hujibidisha kuzitekeleza vizuri kazi zile anazoziweza, na kumuachia Mungu zile zinazozidi uwezo wake. Yeye huwafundisha  wenzake juu ya kuwa na unyenyekevu huo wa kuyatekeleza vizuri majukumu wanayoyaweza na kumtegemea Mungu kwa yale yanayozidi uwezo wao, katika utumishi wao.

Mtu huyo, hufanana na yule mtabiri wa wawindaji aliyewatabiria juu ya kazi yao, bila kuwaambia kitu juu ya mwaka ulivyo, kwa sababu naye hujibidisha kuyatekeleza vizuri majukumu yale anayoyaweza, na kumtegemea Mungu kwa yale yanayozidi uwezo wake, katika utumishi wake. Ndiyo maana yeye huwaambia watu kwamba, “hakuna mtabiri wa mwaka.”

Methali hiyo, hufundisha watu juu ya kuwa na unyenyekevu wa kijibidisha kuyatekeleza vizuri majukumu yao kwa kumtegemea Mungu, ili waweze kupata mafanikio mengi zaidi, katika utumishi wao.

ENGLISH: THERE IS NO FORECASTER OF THE YEAR.

The forecaster of hunters is a whistle-blower who bids farewell when they go hunting. This man predicts to them by telling them about what kind of an animal which they will start to kill. It sometimes becomes true what he predicts. But then, no one knows how to predict the year if it will rain or not. That is why people say that, “there is no forecaster of the year.”

This proverb is related to a man who has humility in trusting in God, in the discharge of his duties. This person, in effect, strives to accomplish the tasks which he or she is capable of doing enough surrender the outcomes to God. He/she teaches others to be humble enough to carry out their duties well and to rely on God for what is beyond their abilities in their service.

This person is like the forecater of hunters who predicted their work, without telling them anything about the year, because he/she too strives to fulfill the daily responsibilities, enough to rely on God for what will happen from service. That is why he/she tells people that, “there is no forecaster of the year.”

This proverb imparts in people a clue on how to be humble and diligent in fulfilling their responsibilities by relying on God, so that they may be more successful in their ministries.

Inhula majonji yili kubhona jisumva ja lubhango giti Mhulugaga, nulu Sado. Ijisumva guti jinijo jidab’onagwa sagala uwikalo bho bhanhu. Kuyiniyo lulu, uyo ujibhona agajilolelaga bho witegeleja bhutale kugiki jikije ugung’wijimija sagala, kunguno ulu jujimila ilidamu ugujibhona hangi. Hunagwene abhanhu bhagayombaga giki, “nhula magonji idab’onagwa kab’ili.”

Ulusumo lunulo, lugalenganijiyagwa kuli munhu uyo agapandikaga sabho ojilabhila chiza, umukikalile kakwe. Umunhu ng’wunuyo, agajitumilaga bho witegeleja pye isabho ijo agajipandikaga, umubhutumami bhokwe, kunguno adebhile isolobho yajo, nu bhudamu bho gujipandika ulu jushila. Uweyi agikalaga na sabho ningi aha kaya yakwe, kunguno ya wigulambija bho gutumama milimo na witegeleja bhokwe bhunubho ubho gujitumila chiza ijo agajipandikaga, umuwikaji bhokwe.

Umunhu ng’wunuyo agikolaga nuyo agabhona jisumva jalubhango ujilang’hana chiza, kunguno nuweyi agajilabhilaga bho witegeleja bhutale isabho ijo agajipandikaga, umubhutumami bhokwe. Uweyi agabhalangaga na abhanhu bhakwe inzila ja gujilang’hanila chiza ijikolo jabho. Hunagwene agabhawilaga abhiye bhenabho giki, “nhula magonji idab’onagwa kab’ili.”

Ulusumo lunulo, lolanga bhanhu higulya ya gujilang’hana bho gujitumamila chiza isabho ijo bhagajipandikaga umubhutumami bhobho, kugiki jidule gubhambilija ugujibheja chiza ikaya jabho kulikanza lilihu, umuwikaji bhobho.

KISWAHILI: BAHATI HAIJIRUDII MARA MBILI.

Bahati ni kuona kitu au kiumbe chenye Baraka kama: kaka kuona au chatu. Viumbe kama hivyo, huwa havionekani hovyo katika makazi ya watu. Kwa hiyo, anayeviona huviangalia kwa umakini mkubwa ili visije vikampotea hovyo, kwa sababu akivipoteza ni vigumu kuviona mara ya pili. Ndiyo maana watu husema kwamba, “bahati haijirudii mara mbili.”

Methali hiyo, hulinganishwa kwa mtu yule avitunzaye kwa uangalifu mali anazozipata, katika maisha yake. Mtu huyo, hufanya kazi kwa bidii na kuzitumia kwa uangalifu mali zote azipatazo, kwa sababu anafahamu faida ya mali hizo, na ugumu wa kuzipata zikiisha. Yeye huwa na mali nyingi kwenye familia yake kwa sababu ya bidii yake ya kufanya kazi na kuwa na matumizi mzuri ya mali anazozipata, maishani mwake.

Mtu huyo, hufanana na yule aliyeona viumbe vyenye Baraka agavitunza kwa uangalifu, kwa sababu naye huitumia kwa uangalifu mkubwa mali anayoipata katika shughuli zake. Yeye huwafundisha pia wenzake namna ya kuzitumia kwa uangalifu mali wanazozipata. Ndiyo maana huwaambia wenzake hao kwamba, “bahati haijirudii mara mbili.”

Methali hiyo, hufundisha watu juu ya kuzitunza kwa kuzitumia kwa uangalifu mali wanazozipata katika kazi zao, ili ziweze kuwasaidia katika kuziendeleza vizuri familia zao kwa kipindi kirefu, maishani mwao.

ENGLISH: LUCK DOES NOT REPEAT TWICE.

Luck is to see an object or creature of a Blessing such as wild life or a python. Such creatures are rarely seen in human settlements. Therefore, the one who sees them looks at them very carefully so that they do not get lost, because if he/she loses them it is difficult to see them a second time. That is why people say that, “luck does not repeat twice.”

This proverb is compared to a man who carefully observes things which he finds in his life. Such person works hard and uses all his resources wisely, because he knows the benefits of them and the difficulty of finding them while they are lost. He has a lot of wealth in his family because of his hard working and good usage of the wealth which he earns in his life.

This person resembles to the one who saw the blessed creatures and took care of them, because he also uses his wealth very carefully. He also teaches his associates on how to use their resources wisely. That is why he tells them that, “luck does not repeat twice.”

This proverb instills in people an idea on how to take care of properties by carefully using the resources which they earn in their jobs, so that they can help them in taking care of their families for a long time, in their future lives.

Hunagwene bhiwilaga giki, “lekelaga koyi jize ngehu.”

Akahayile kenako, kagalenganijiyagwa kuli munhu uyo agatumamaga milimo yakwe bho jelwa ng’holo, umukikalile kakwe. Umunhu ng’wunuyo, agandyaga gutumama bhuli nimo bho witegeleja bhutale mpaga ogumala chiza. Uweyi agapandikaga sabho ningi noyi umubhutumami bhokwe, kunguno ya welwa ng’holo bhokwe bhunubho, ubho gutumama milimo na bhitegeleja bhutale, umuwikaji bhokwe.

Umunhu ng’wunuyo, agikolaga na bhag’wisha bha ng’ombe abho bhagang’wishaga bho jelwa ng’holo, kunguno nu weyi agatumamaga milimo yakwe bho jelwa ng’holo na witegeleja bhutale, umukikalile kakwe. Hunagwene agayombaga giki, “lekelaga koyi jize ngehu.”

Akahayile kenako, kalanga bhanhu higulya ya gubhiza na witegeleja bhutale bho guitumama milimo yabho jelwa ng’holo, kugiki bhadule kupandika sabho ningi ijagujilang’hanila ikaya jabho, umuwikaji bhobho.

KISWAHILI: ACHIA HUKO WAJE WACHACHE.

Walikuwepo watu waliokuwa wakinywesha ng’ombe wao kwenye malambo yao. Watu hao, walikuwa wakiyachimba malambo hayo kwenye mito baada ya mito hiyo kukauka, kwa ajili ya kuwanyweshea ng’ombe wao hao. Wao walikuwa wakikata ng’ombe wachache wanaenda kunywa ili wasije wakayakanyaga maji hayo na kuyachafua, mpaga wakamaliza kuwanywesha wote. Ndiyo maana mmoja wao alimwambia mwenzake, “achia huko waje wachache.”

Msemo huo, hulinganishwa kwa mtu yule ambaye huyatekeleza majukumu yakwe kwa umakini mkubwa, katika maisha yake. Mtu huyo, huanza kuitekeleza kila kazi kwa umakini huo wa kuielewa vizuri na kuitekeleza itakiwavyo mpaka mwisho. Yeye hupata mafanikio mengi ya mali katika utumishi wake kwa sababu ya umakini wako huo mkubwa alio nao katika utekelezaji wa majukumu yake, maishani mwake.

Mtu huyo, hufanana na wale wanywesha ng’ombe waliowang’wesha ng’ombe wao kwa umakini mkubwa, kwa sababu naye huyatekeleza majukumu yake kwa umakini huo mkubwa, katika maisha yake. Ndiyo maana husema, “achia huko waje wachache.”

Msemo huo, hufundisha watu juu ya kuwa na umakini mkubwa wa kuyatekeleza vizuri majukumu yao, ili waweze kupata mali za kutosha kuwasaidia katika kuziendeleza vizuri familia zao, maishani mwao.

ENGLISH: LET THERE COME A FEW.

There were people who were letting their cows to drink water in their rivers. Those people had dug wells in the rivers after those rivers dried up, for the sake of getting water for their cattle to drink. They were letting a few cows that were going to drink so that they would not trample on the water and pollute it, until the herdsmen would finish such task by making sure that all cattle have drunk water. That is why one of them said to the other that, “let there come a few.”

This saying is applied to the person who carries out his duties with the utmost seriousness, in his life. Such person begins to carry out each task with the utmost care to understand it enough to carry it out to the end. He achieves much of the financial success in his ministry because of the great care he has in carrying out his responsibilities in his life.

This man resembles to the cowboys who let their cows drink clean water in a great care, because he also carries out his duties with the same vigilance, in his life. That is why they say that,
“let there come a few.”

This saying imparts in people a clue on how to be more careful in fulfilling their responsibilities, so that they can earn enough money to help them in taking care of their families, in lives.

Olihoyi nkima umo uyo wikalaga agung’waga walwa mpaka olewa. Unkima ng’wunuyo, oilekanijaga ikaya ogikala mumajib’u agung’waga walwa duhu. Uweyi agayung’wa uwalwa bhonebha mpaga oduma nulu ugutumama imilimo yakwe. Hunagwene abhanhu bhagayiwila giki, “lyenilo lyasedechiwa jilab’u.”

Akahayile kenako, kagalenganijiyagwa kuli munhu uyo agajitumamilaga sagala ijikola jakwe, umukikalile kakwe. Umunhu ng’wunuyo, agapandikaga jikolo, nulu hela, oilekanija ikaya yakwe bho gujujikenagula ihela jinijo mumito ga sagala. Uweyi agajimalaga ihela jakwe bho nduhu uguyambilija ikaya yakwe yiniyo, naoshoka lulu ikaya, kunguno ya bhubhipya bho masala gakwe, umukikalile kakwe.

Umunhu ng’wunuyo, agikolaga nu nkima uyo agailekanija ikaya yakwe ugikala mumajilab’u, kunguno nuweyi agailekanijaga ikaya yakwe bho gujikenagula sagala isabho jakwe, umukikalile kakwe. Hunagwene abhanhu bhagiwilaga giki, “lyenilo lyasedechiwa jilab’u.”

Akahayile kenako, kalanga bhabhu higulya ya kuleka nhungwa ja gujikenagula sagala isabho jabho, kugiki bhadule kujitumila bho gujilang’hanila chiza, ikaya jabho jinijo, umuwikaji bhobho.

Alikuwepo mwanamke mmoja aliyekuwa mlevi wa kunywa sana pombe. Mwanamke huyo, aliitelekeza familia yake kwa kwenda kuishi kwenye vilabu. Yeye alikuwa akinywa pombe na kulewa mpaka kufikia hatua ya kushindwa hata kufanya kazi zake. Ndiyo maana watu waliambiana kwamba, “hilo limechoshwa na kilabu.”

Msemo huo, hulinganishwa kwa mtu yule ambaye huzitumia hovyo mali zake, katika maisha yake. Mtu huyo, hupata hela au mali na kuitelekeza familia yake kwa kuzitumia mali zake hizo kwenye mambo yasiyo na maana. Yeye huimaliza pesa yake bila kuisaidia familia yake kwa sababu ya kuziharibu akili zake, maishani mwake.

Mtu huyo, hufanana na mwanamke yule aliyeitelekeza familia yake kwa kukimbilia kuishi kwenye vilabu vya pombe, huitelekeza familia yake kwa kutumia pesa zake kwenye mambo yasiyo faa, katika maisha yake. Ndiyo maana watu huambiana kwamba, “hilo limechoshwa na kilabu.”

Msemo huo, hufundisha watu juu ya kuacha tabia ya kuziharibu hovyo mali zao, ili waweze kuzitumia kwa kuzilinda vizuri familia zao, maishani mwao.

ENGLISH: THAT ONE HAS BEEN EXHAUSTED BY ALCOHOLIC CENTER.

There was a woman who was an alcoholic drinker. She abandoned her family by going to live in clubs which sold alcohol. She was drinking enough to get drunk to the point of not being able to even do her jobs at home. That is why people said to one another, “that one has been exhausted by alcoholic center.”

This saying is related to a man who squanders his possessions in useless things. He earns money or property and abandons his family by spending his resources on trivial matters. He spends his money without helping his family because of damaging his mind in his life.

This man resembles to the woman who abandoned her family by rushing to live in a liquor club, because he also abandons his family by spending his money on trivial things, in his life. That is why people say to one another, “that one has been exhausted by alcoholic center.”

This saying teaches people on how to stop a habit of wasting their resources uselessly, so that they can use it for protecting and developing their families in their lives.

884. NG’WAB’EJA GULIGINEHE HOYI?

Olihoyi namhala umo uyo agabhatuma bhana bhakwe gujutumama nimo kungunda gokwe. Agabhawila, “jagi mgalimile ingese.” Abhana bhakwe bhagashosha, “nahene B’ab’a.”

Abhana bhakwe bhenabho, bhagaja bhugalimila ingese yiniyo bho gufugila amaswa pye ilibala ilo bhalilimilaga. Unamhala aho oja ugujubhalinguja ugasanga maswa mingi gimilaga ayo bhagafugilaga. Hunagwene agabhabhuja giki, “ng’wab’eja guliginehe hoyi?”

Akahayile kenako, kagalenganijiyagwa kubhanhu abho bhadatumamaga chiza imilimo iyo bhagatumagwa na bhichacho, umukikalile kabho. Abhanhu bhenabho, bhagatumama heke umo bhaliganikala bhoyi kunguno bhaditegelejaga chiza ulu bhaliwilwa mhayo. Abhoyi bhagaikenagula imilimo yabho kunguno ya gukija gutungilija umo bhawililagwa na bhichabho, umubhutumami bhobho.

Abhanhu bhenabho, bhagikolaga na bhana abho bhadatumamile chiza unimo uyo bhali bhatung’wa gujutumama nu sabho, kunguno nabhoyi bhadatumamaga chiza imilimo iyo bhagatumagwa na bhichabho, umukikalile kabho. Hunagwene abhanhu bhagabhabhujaga giki, “ng’wab’eja guliginehe hoyi?”

Akahayile kenako, kalanga bhanhu higulya ya guitegeleja chiza imilimo iyo bhagatumagwa guitumama, kugiki bhadule guitumama chiza, umuwikaji bhobho.

KISWAHILI: MUMETENGENEZA LIPI HAPO?

Alikuwepo mzee aliyewatuma watoto wake kwenda kufanya kazi kwenye shamba lake. Aliwaambia, “nendeni mkapalilie palizi.” Watoto wake walijibu, “sawa baba.”

Watoto wake hao, walienda kupalilia ile palizi kwa kufukia majani kwenye sehemu yote waliyoipalilia. Mzee alipoenda kuwakagua alikuta majani mengi waliyoyafukia yamesimama. Ndiyo maana aliwauliza kwamba, “mumetengezeza lipi hapo?”

Msemo huo, hulinganishwa kwa watu wale ambao huwa hawatekelezi vizuri kazi walizotumwa na wenzao, katika maisha yao. Watu hao, huyatekeleza vingine majukumu yale walioagizwa kuyafanya, tofauti na walivyoelekezwa. Wao huziharifu kazi zao kwa sababu ya kuacha kuyazingatia maagizo waliyopewa na  wenzao, katika utumishi wao.

Watu hao hufanana na watoto wale ambao hawakuitekeleza vizuri kazi waliopewa na baba yao, kwa sababu nao huwa hawayatekelezi vizuri majukumu yale waliopewa na wenzao, katika maisha yao. Ndiyo maana watu huwauliza kwamba, “mumetengezenza lipi hapo?”

Msemo huo, hufundisha watu juu kuwa na umakini wa kuyaelewa maagizo wanayopewa na wenzao, ili waweze kuyatekeleza vizuri, maishani mwao.

ENGLISH: WHAT HAVE YOU DONE THERE?

There was an old man who sent his children to work on his farm. He told them, “Go and weed out the weeds.” His children replied, “OK, father.”

His children, however, went to weed the weeds by covering the leaves in all places where they passed. When the old man went to inspect them, he found that most of the leaves which they had covered had appeared. That is why he asked them, “What have you done there?”

This saying is applied to those people who do not perform well the tasks which have been assigned to them by their associates, in their lifetime. These people, in turn, carry out their tasks assigned to them, contrary to their instructions. They ruin their jobs because they do not pay attention to the instructions given to them by their nobles, in their ministry.

These people are like those children who did not do well the work that was given to them by their father, because they also do not fullfill well their responsibilities which have been given to them by their fellows, in their lives. That is why people ask them, “What have you done there?”

This saying instills in people an idea of being careful enough to understand the instructions which have been given to them by their fellows, so that they can carry them out well, in their lives.
