Olihoyi munhu uyo wikalaga muchalo ja Wimate. Umunhu ng’wunuyo agikenya na ng’wiye uyo bhali bhuzenganwa nanghwe kunguno ya gwishogeja shib’i. Uweyi agiyangula gulomba bhulekejiwa ukuli ng’wiye ng’wunuyo. Hunagwene agayomba giki, “nasugambaga nasumbyaga makono.”

Akahayile kenako kagalenganijiyagwa kuli munhu uyo alina widohya bho gulomba bhulekejiwa ulu ohubhaga, umukikalile kakwe. Umunhu ng’wunuyo agalombaga bhulekejiwa ulu widumaga nabhiye kunguno ya widohya bhokwe bhunubho ubho gwikala chiza nabhiye, umuwikaji bhokwe. Uweyi agayilelaga chiza ikaya yakwe kunguno ya widohya bhokwe ubho gwikala chiza na bhanhu bhakwe bhunubho, umukikalile kakwe.

KISWAHILI: NIMEPIGA MAGOTI NAKUFUMBA MIKONO.

Alikuwepo mtu aliyeishi kwenye kijiji cha Wimate. Mtu huyo aligombana na mwenzake aliyekuwa jirani yake kwa sababu ya kujibizana vibaya. Yeye aliamua kuomba msamaha kwa mwenzake huyo. Ndiyo maana alisema kwamba, “nimepiga magoti nakufumba mikono.”

Msemo huo hulinganishwa kwa mtu yule ambaye ana unyeyekevu wa kuomba msamaha anapokosea, katika maisha yake. Mtu huyo, huomba msamaha anapokesana na wenzake kwa sababu ya unyenyekevu wake huo wa kuishi vizuri na wenzake, maishani mwake. Yeye huilea vyema familia yake kwa sababu ya unyenyekevu wake huo wa kuishi vizuri na watu wake, katika maisha yake.

Mtu huyo, hufanana na yule aliyeomba msamaha alipokosana na jirani yake, kwa sababu naye ana unyenyekevu wa kuomba msamaha kwa wenzake anakosana nao. Ndiyo maana husema kwamba, “nimepiga magoti nakufumba mikono.”

Msemo huo hufundisha watu juu ya kuwa na unyenyekevu wa kuishi na watu vizuri na kuomba msamaha kwa wenzao wanakosana, ili waweze kuzilea vyema familia zao, maishani mwao.

ENGLISH: I HAVE KNELT DOWN AND FOLDED MY HANDS.

There was a man who lived in the village of Wimate. This man had a fight with his neighbor because of evil argument. He decided to apologize to his neighbor. That is why he said that, “I have knelt down and folded my hands.”

This saying is related to a person who has humility to apologize when he makes a mistake in his life. Such person apologizes when he makes a mistake with his friends because of his humility to live well with his friends in his life. He takes virtuous care of his family because of his humility to live well with his people in his life.

This person is like the one who apologized when he made a mistake with his neighbor, because he also has the humility to apologize to his friends with whom he makes a mistake. That is why he says that, “I have knelt down and folded my hands.”

This saying teaches people about being humble by living well with people and asking for forgiveness from their earls who have differences, so that they can raise their families well, in their lives.

Abhoyi bhagikalaga na buyeji umukaya jabho kunguno ya guzunya guntumamila Yesu chiza, umukikalile kabho.

KISWAHILI: MLIKUWA WANGAPI?

Msemo huo huongelea watu wale walioalikwa kufanya kazi kwa mtu aliyewaalika. Watu hao walienda kuifanya vizuri kazi hiyo kwa sababu ya kupenda kuishi na wenzao vizuri. Wao waliulizwa na watu walipokuwa wakirudi juu ya utekelezaji wa kazi yao kwa sababu ya kutaka kuwaelewa wale walioitikia wito huo. Ndiyo maana wao waliuliza kwamba, “mlikuwa wangapi?”

Msemo huo hulinganishwa kwa watu wale walioalikwa kumtumikia Yesu wakaitekeleza vizuri kazi hiyo, katika maisha yao. Watu hao humtumikia Yesu vizuri kwa kuishi na wenzao vizuri kwa sababu ya kumpenda Yesu, maishani mwao. Wao huiishi kwa furaha kwenye familia zao kwa sababu ya kumwamini Yesu vizuri, katika maisha yao.

Watu hao, hufanana na wale walioalikwa kufanya kazi ya mtu fulani wakaitekeleza vizuri, kwa sababu nao humtumikia vizuri Yesu aliyewaita kwa kuishi na watu vizuri, maishani mwao. Ndio maana huwajali watu kwa kuwauliza kwamba, “mlikuwa wangapi?”

Msemo huo hufundisha watu juu ya kumwamini Yesu kwa kushirikiana kufanya kazi vizuri na wenzao, ili waweze kupata Baraka za kuwafikisha mbinguni.

ENGLISH: HOW MANY WERE YOU?

This saying refers to people who were invited to work for someone who invited them. Those people went to do a job well because they liked to live well with their nobles. They were asked by people when they returned an implementation of their works because they wanted to understand a number of those who responded to the call. That is why they asked that, “How many were you?”

This saying is equated to people who were invited to serve Jesus and carried out that work well, in their lives. Those people serve Jesus well by living well with their dukes because they love Jesus, in their lives. They live it happily in their families because they nicely believe in Jesus in their lives.

These people are similar to those who were invited to do someone else’s work and carried it out well, because they also serve Jesus who called them well by nicely living with people, in their lives. That is why they do not care about people by asking them that, “How many were you?”

This saying imparts in people an idea of of believing in Jesus by working together well with their nobles, so that they can receive blessings that will take them to heaven.

Chanzo cha msemo huo huongelea bhacheza bao. Wacheza bao hao hulicheza bao hilo kwa kushindana kwa sababu ya kupenda kupoteza muda wao katika mchezo huo. Ndiyo maana watu hao huhimizana kucheza kwa kusema kwamba, “njooni tuliume.”

Msemo huo hulinganishwa kwa watu wale ambao huuchezea muda wao kwa  kufanya kazi zisizo na faida kwenye familia zao, katika maisha yao. Watu hao huuchezea hovyo muda wao wa kufanya kazi zisizo na faida kwao badala ya kuutumia muda huo kufanya kazi zenye manufaa kwao, kwa sababu ya uvivu wao huo wa kazi, maishani mwao. Wao husumbuliwa na tatizo la njaa kwenye familia zao kwa sababu ya uvivu wao wa kazi, kwa kuuchezea hovyo muda wao wa kufanya kazi, katika maisha yao.

Watu hao, hufanana na wale wacheza bao waliouchezea muda wao katika mchezo huo badala ya kufanya kazi zenye faida kwao, kwa sababu nao huuchezea hovyo muda wao kwa kufanya kazi zisizo na manufaa kwenye familia zao, maishani mwao. Ndiyo maana wao huhimizana kuuchezea muda wao kwa kusema kwamba, “njooni tuliume.”

Msemo huo hufundisha watu juu ya kuacha kuuchezea muda wao wa kufanya kazi kwa kufanya kazi zisizo na manufaa kwao, ili waweze kufanya kazi zenye manufaa kwenye familia zao, maishani mwao.

The origin of this saying refers to traditional game player. These people play the traditional game by competing with each other because they like to waste their time in the game. That is why these people encourage each other to play by saying that, “Come, let us work together.”

This saying is related to those people who waste their time by doing useless things in their families. These people waste their time by doing those useless things instead of using that time for doing useful works for them, because of their laziness in their lives. They are troubled by difficult of hunger in their families because of their laziness of wasting their time in their lives.

These people are similar to those traditional game players who wasted their time by doing playing that game instead of doing useful works for them, because they also waste their time by doing useless things for their families, in their lives. That is why they encourage each other to waste their time by saying, “Come, let us work together.”

This saying imparts in people an idea of stopping wasting their working time by doing works which are not beneficial to them, so that they can do useful works in their family lives.

Uweyi agadumaga uguilela chiza ikaya yakwe kunguno ya gujikenagula sagala ijikolo jakwe bho nduhu ugwitegeleja chiza, umukikalile kakwe kenako.

 Umunhu ng’wunuyo agikolaga nuyo agatumila bhugota bhukali mpaga bhunlabhula kunguno nuweyi agatumilaga ginhu sagala bho nduhu gwitegeleja mpaga oduma uguilela chiza ikaya yakwe umuwikaji bhokwe. Hunagwene abhanhu bhagang’wilaga giki, “ilinili ilemela lya bhose.”

Hapo zamani alikuwepo mtu aliyeishi kwenye kijiji fulani. Mtu huyo alitumia dawa kali ambayo ilimuumiza kwa sababu ya kujifanya kuwa mzoefu maishani mwake. Msemo huo, hulinganishwa kwa mtu yule ambaye ana mazoea ya kutumia vitu bila ya kufikiria vizuri, katika maisha yake. Mtu huyo, huvitumia hovyo vitu bila ya kufikiria vizuri mpaka anashindwa kuyatekeleza majukumu yake kwa sababu ya mazoea hayo ya kutumia vitu bila ya kufikiria vizuri, maishani mwake. Yeye hushindwa kuilea vizuri familia yake kwa sababu ya kuvitumia hovyo vitu vyake bila ya kufirikia vizuri, katika maisha yake hayo.

Mtu huyo, hufanana na yule aliyetumia dawa kali mpaka ikamuumiza, kwa sababu naye hutumia vitu hovyo bila ya kufikiria vizuri mpaka anashindwa kuilea vizuri familia yake, maishani mwake. Ndiyo maana watu humwambia kwamba, “hii huwashinda wote.”

Msemo huo, hufundisha watu juu ya kuwa na umakini wa kuvitumia vizuri vitu vyao, ili waweze kuzilea vizuri familia zao, maishani mwao.

ENGLISH: THIS ONE OVERCOMES ALL.

Once upon a time, there was a man who lived in a village. Such man used a strong medicine that hurt him because he pretended to be experienced in his life. He used the medicine which overcame him because of his arrogance of using strong medicine without being careful enough to nicely understand it before using it. That is why people told him that, “this one overcomes all.”

This saying is matched to a person who has habit of using things without thinking properly, in his life. Such person uses things indiscriminately without thinking properly until he fails to fulfill his responsibilities because of that habit of using things indiscriminately, in his life. He fails to raise his family well because of that use of his things indiscriminately without understanding it well, in his life.

This person related to the one who used strong medicine until it hurt him, because he also uses things indiscriminately until he fails to raise his family well, in his life. That is why people about him that, “this one overcomes all.”

This saying teaches people of being careful enough to nicely use their possessions, so that they can nicely raise their family lives.

Umunhu ng’wunuyo, agabhalangaga abhanhu bhakwe gutumama chiza imilimo yabho bho guitumama jelwa ng’holo imilimo yakwe, umuwikaji bhokwe. Uweyi agasabhaga sabho ningi noyi aha kaya yake kunguno ya guitumama bho jelwa ng’holo imilimo yakwe yiniyo, umukikalile kakwe.

Yeye hutajirika sana katika familia yake hiyo kwa sababu ya umakini wake huo wa kutekeleza majukumu yake kwa uaminifu, katika maisha yake hayo.

Mtu huyo, hufanana na yule aliyeipalilia vizuri palizi ya shamba lake, kwa sababu naye huyatekeleza majukumu yakwe kwa uaminifu mpaga anatajirika katika familia yake, maishani mwake. Ndiyo maana husema kwamba, “mpaka nihakikishe.”

Msemo huo hufundisha watu juu ya kuwa na umakini wa kuyatekeleza kiaminifu majukumu yao, ili waweze kupata mafanikio ya kuwa na mali nyingi, katika familia zao, maishani mwao.

The origin of this saying refers to the good weeding that a person had. This person weeded his field well without covering it with leaves because he wanted his work to nicely go. That is why he said that, “Until I make sure.”

This saying is equated to a person who is attentive to carrying out his duties well, in his life. Such person teaches his people to work well by faithfully carrying out his duties because of his attentiveness in his life. He becomes very rich in his family because of his attentiveness in carrying out his duties faithfully, in his life.

This person is like the one who weeded his field well, because he also faithfully carries out his duties to the point of becoming rich in his family, in his life. That is why he says that, “Until I make sure.”

This proverb imparts in people an idea of being careful to faithfully fulfill their duties, so that they can achieve success in having various possessions in their family lives.
