1326. IZUGA LYA MANYANYA NULU HALIMI DUHU JUPYA.

Imbuki ya kahayile kenako ilolile bhuzugi bho manyanya. A manyanya genayo gadi nizuga lidamu kunguno unzugi ogo adulile nulu gugachembagula duhu ugaleka mulimi gupya. Umunhu ng’wunuyo, agagutumamaga unimo gunuyo bho nduhu nulu gunoga. Hunagwene agayombaga giki “izuga lya manyanya nulu halimi duhu jupya.”

Akahayile kenako kagalenganijiyagwa kuli munhu uyo adebhile gutumama milimo yakwe chiza, umukikalile kakwe. Umunhu ng’wunuyo agikalaga na milimo mingi iyo aidebhile uguitumama mpaga oyimala chiza kunguno ya witegeleja bhokwe bhunubho, umuwikaji bhokwe. Uweyi agapandikaga sabho ningi noyi aha kaya yakwe kunguno ya witegeleja bhokwe bhunubho ubho gudebha guitumama mingi chiza chiniko, umukikalile kakwe.

Umunhu ng’wunuyo agikolaga nuyo oliadebhile guzuga nyanya chiza, kunguno nuweyi adebhile gutumama milimo yakwe chiza chiniko, umuwikaji bhokwe bhunubho. Hunagwene agayombaga giki, “izuga lya manyanya nulu halimi duhu jupya.”

Akahayile kenako kalanga bhanhu higulya ya gubhiza na witegeleja bho gudebha kutumama milimo yabho chiza chiniko, kugiki bhadule gupandika matwajo  mingi, umuwikaji bhobho.

KISWAHILI: UPISHI WA NYANYA HATA JUANI TU ZINAIVA.

Chanzo cha msemo huo huangalia upishi wa nyanya. Nyanya hizo hazina mapishi magumu kwa sababu mpikaji wake aweza hata kuzikatakata tu akaziacha juani zikaiva. Mtu huyo huifanya kazi hiyo bila hata ya kumchosha. Ndiyo maana yeye husema kwamba, “upishi wa nyanya hata juani tu zinaiva.”

Msemo huo, hulinganishwa kwa mtu yule ambaye anaelewa kufanya kazi zake vizuri, katika maisha yake. Mtu huyo hufanya kazi nyingi anazizoelewa kuzitekeleza mpaga anazimaliza vizuri, kwa sababu ya  umakini wake huo, maishani mwake. Yeye hupata mali nyingi sana kwenye familia yake kwa sababu ya umakini wake huo wa kuzielewa na kuzitekeleza vizuri kazi zake hizo, katika maisha yake.

Mtu huyo, hufanana na yule aliyeelewa kupika nyanya vizuri, kwa sababu naye anaelewa kuzitekeleza kazi zake vizuri, maishani mwake. Ndiyo maana yeye husema kwamba, “upishi wa nyanya hata juani tu zinaiva.”

Msemo huo, hufundisha watu juu ya kuwa na umakini wa kuzielewa na kuzitekeleza vizuri kazi zao zote, ili waweze kupata mafanikio mengi, maishani mwao.

ENGLISH: COOKING TOMATOES EVEN IN THE SUN WILL RIPEN.

The origin of this saying looks at cooking tomatoes. These tomatoes do not have difficult recipes because their cook can even just chop them and leave them in the sun to ripen. This person does this work without even being tired. That is why he says, “Cooking tomatoes even in the sun will ripen.”

This saying is matched to a man who understands how to do his work well, in his life. Such person does several tasks that he understands how to do, and he finishes them well, because of his responsiveness, in his life. He earns a lot of wealth in his family because of his thoughtfulness of understanding and carrying out his tasks well, in his life.

This person resembles the one who understood how to cook tomatoes well, because he also understands how to carry out his tasks well, in his life. That is why he says, “Cooking tomatoes even in the sun will ripen.”

This saying teaches people to be careful enough to understand and carry out all their tasks well, so that they can achieve great success in their lives.

1325. UMUNHU UYO ADIMANILE ING’HANA UDIZUNG’WILA ING’HANA.

Akahayile kenako kandija kuli munhu uyo oyombaga mihayo ya bhulomolomo umukikalile kakwe. Abhanhu abho wikalaga nabho umunhu ng’wunuyo, bhang’wilaga giki  aileke imihayo yiniyo iyabhulongo bho guyomba bhunhana, olema kunguno ya bhuhalali bhokwe bhunubho. Hunagwene abhanhu bhenabho bhagayomba giki, “umunhu uyo adimanile ing’hana udizung’wila ing’hana.”

Akahayile kenako kagalenganijiyagwa kuli munhu uyo agitaga mihayo ya bhubhi umukikalile kakwe. Umunhu ng’wunuyo, alinsembo uyo adigwaga  mihayo ya guwilwa na bhiye kunguno ya nhungwa jakwe ija bhuhalali jinijo, umuwikaji bhokwe. Uweyi agadumaga uguilela chiza ikaya yakwe kunguno ya bhusembo bhokwe ubho gwita mihayo ya bhubhi bhunubho, umukikalile kakwe.

Umunhu ng’wunuyo, agikolaga nuyo owilagwa giki aleke guyomba mihayo ya bhulomolomo olema, kunguno nuweyi agawilagwa na bhiye giki, aleke gwita mihayo ya bhubhi, olema, umuwikaji bhokwe. Hunagwene abhanhu abho agabhahalalikaga bhagiwilaga giki, “umunhu uyo adimanile ing’hana udizung’wila ing’hana.”

Akahayile kenako kalanga bhanhu higulya ya guleka nhungwa ja gwita mihayo ya bhubhi bho gwita mihayo ya wiza kugiki bhadule gujilela chiza ikaya jabho jinijo, umuwikaji bhobho bhunubho.

KISWAHILI: MTU ASIYEUJUA UKWELI USIMWAMBIE UKWELI.

Msemo huo, ulianzia kwa mtu yule aliyekuwa alisema maneno ya uongo katika maisha yake. Watu waliokuwa wakiishi naye, walimwambia kwamba aache kusema uongo kwa kusema ukweli, akakataa kwa sababu ya ubishi wake huo. Ndiyo maana watu hao, walisema kwamba, “mtu asiyeujua ukweli usimwambie ukweli.”                                 

Msemo huo, hulinganishwa kwa mtu yule ambaye hutenda maovu katika maisha yake. Mtu huyo hutenda maovu kwa wenzake na kukataa kuyaacha pale wenzake hao wanapomshauri kuayaacha, kwa sababu ya tabia yake hiyo mbaya ya ubishi, maishani mwake. Yeye hushindwa kuilea vyema familia yake hiyo kwa sagabu ya kutenda maovu hayo, katika maisha yake.

Mtu huyo, hufanana na yule aliyekataa kuacha kusema uongo aliposhauriwa na wenzake, kwa sababu naye hukataa kuacha kutenda maovu anaposhauriwa na wenzake, maishani mwake. Ndiyo maana wenzake hao, huambiana kwamba, “mtu asiyeujua ukweli usimwambie ukweli.”

Msemo huo, hufundisha watu juu ya kuacha tabia ya kutenda maovu kwa kufuata ushauri wa kutenda mema kwa wenzao, ili waweze kuzilea vyema familia zao, maishani mwao.

ENGLISH: DO NOT TELL THE TRUTH TO A PERSON WHO DOES NOT KNOW IT.

This saying is originated from a person who had told lies in his life. The people who lived with him told him to stop lying by telling the truth, but he refused because of his argumentativeness. That is why those people said, “Do not tell the truth to a person who does not know it.”

This saying is equated to a person who commits evil deeds in his life. Such person commits evil deeds against his nobles and refuses to stop when those nobles advise him to stop, because of his wicked argumentative behavior in his life. He fails to nurture his family well because of committing those evil deeds in his life.

This person is similar to the one who refused to stop lying when advised by his fellows, because he also refuses to stop committing evil deeds when advised by his fellows in his life. That is why those fellows say to each other, “Do not tell the truth to a person who does not know it.”

This saying imparts in people an idea of stopping habits of doing evil deeds by following advice of doing good deeds to their fellows, so that they can nurture their families well, in their lives.

Ihuju ya b’uki jili nzuki ijo jili na b’uki wingi gete. Abhanhu bhagawapaga ub’uki bhunubho bhuli makanza bho nduhu ugubhumala kunguno ya wingi bhobho bhunubho. Hunagwene abhabhu bhenabho bhagawikolanijaga na huju ilo lililitabha lya minzi mingi bho guwitana giki, “huju ya b’uki.”

Akahayile kenako kagalengajiyagwa kuli munhu uyo alinsabhi o majikolo mingi aha kaya yakwe umukikalile kakwe. Umunhu ng’wunuyo agikalaga na sabho ningi noyi ijo agatumamilaga bho gubhagunana abhiye abho bhali na makoye kunguno ya wizanholo bhokwe bhunubho, umuwikaji bhokwe. Uweyi agikalaga na bhanhu bhingi noyi aha kaya yakwe abho agabhambilija kunguno ya wizang’oholo ubho ugubhutumamila chiza ubhusabhi bhokwe bhunubho, umukikalile kakwe.

Umunhu ng’wunuyo, agikolaga ni nzuki iyo yali na b’uki wingi noyi, kunguno nuweyi alinsabhi o masabho mingi ayo agagatumamilaga bho gubhagunana abhiye abhali na makoye, umuwikaji bhokwe. Hunagwene abhanhu bhagang’witanaga giki, “huju ya b’uki.”

Akahayile kenako kalanga bhanhu higulya ya gubhiza na wizanholo bho gubhagunana abhichabho abho bhali na makoye, kugiki bhadule kupandika mbango ya gwikala bho bhuyegi umukaya jabho.

KISWAHILI: BWAWA LA ASALI.

Bwawa la asali ni nyuki wenye asali nyingi sana. Watu huilina asali hiyo kila wakati bila ya kuimaliza kwa sababu ya wingi wake huo. Ndiyo maana wao huufananisha na bwawa la hilo ambalo ni dimbwi lenye kina kirefu cha maji kwa kuiita, “bwawa la asali.”

Msemo huo hulinganishwa kwa mtu yule ambaye ni tajiri wa mali nyingi kwenye familia yake, katika maisha yake. Mtu huyo, ana utajiri wa mali nyingi sana ambazo huzitumia kwa kuwasaidia watu wenye matatizo mbalimbali, kwa sababu ya ukarimu wake huo, maishani mwake. Yeye huishi na watu wengi kwenye familia yake anaowasaidia kwa sababu ya ukarimu wake huo wa kuutumia utajiri wake kwa kuwasaidia watu wenye matatizo maishani mwao.

Mtu huyo, hufanana na wale nzuki waliokuwa na asali nyingi, kwa sababu naye na utajiri wa mali nyingi ambazo huzitumia kwa kuwasaidia watu wenye matatizo mbalimbali, maishani mwake. Ndiyo maana watu humuita jila la “bwana la asali.”

Msemo huo hufundisha watu juu ya kuwa na moyo wa ukarimu uwawezeshao kuwasaidia wenzao wanaokumbwa na matatizo mbalimbali, ili waweze kupata Baraka za kuishi kwa furaha, katika familia zao.

ENGLISH: HONEY POND.

A honey pond is a bee with a lot of honey. People eat the honey all the time without finishing it because of its abundance. That is why they compare it to a pond, which is a deep pool of water by calling it, “honey pond.”

This saying is paralleled to a person who is rich in countless belongings in his family. This person, has a lot of wealth which he uses for assisting people who face various glitches, because of his generosity in life. He lives with numerous people in his family whom he helps because of his generosity in using his wealth to help people who face problems in their lives.

This person is similar to the bees which had a lot of honey, because he also has a lot of wealth that he uses for helping people who face various problems in life. That is why people call him “honey pond.”

This saying teaches people about having a generous heart that enables them to help their people who are experiencing various problems, so that they can receive God blessings of living happily in their families.

Ijahalugala jili jiliwa ijo jigaliyagwa ahi kanza lya limi. Bhalihoyi bhanhu bha kaya yimo abho bhalyaga kihamo ijiliwa jabho kunguno ya witogwi bhobho. Abhanhu bhenabho bhalitumilaga ilikanza linilo ilyagulya bho guihoyela mihayo ya gwitongela chiza aha kaya yabho yiniyo. Hunagwene ilu lyashiga ili kanza lya gulya ijiliwa jabho jinijo bhikaribhushaga bho bhiwilaga giki, “jahalugala.”

Akahayile kenako kagalenganijiyagwa ku kaya ya bhanhu abho bhali na bhizanholo umukikalile kabho. Abhanhu bha ha kaya yiniyo, bhagabhakaribhushaga abhichabho bhalya ijiliwa jabho ulu lyashiga ilikanza lya gujilya ijiliwa jabho jinijo, kunguno ya wizanholo bhobho bhunubho, umuwikaji bhobho. Abhoyi bhagapandikaga mbango ja gwikala bho bhuyegi bhutale aha kaya yabho, kunguno ya wizanholo bhobho bhunubho, umukikalile kabho kenako.

Abhanhu bhenabho bhagikolaga nabho bhali na witogwi bho gulya kihamo ijiliwa jabho ija limi jinijo, kunguno nabhoyi bhali na wizanholo bho gubhakaribhusha abhichabho bhalya kihamo nabho ijiliwa ja ha kaya yabho jinijo, umuwikaji bhobho. Hunagwene bhagabhakaribhushaga abhichabho bhenabho bho guyomba giki, “jahalugala.”

KISWAHILI: CHA MCHANA.

Cha mchana ni chakula ambacho huliwa kwenye muda wa mchana. Walikuwepo watu wa familia moja waliokuwa wakila chakula chao pamoja kwa sababu ya upendo wao. Watu hao waliutumia muda huo wa kula chakula kwa kuongelea mipango ya kuongozana vizuri kwenye familia yao. Ndiyo maana ulipofika wakati huo kwa kula chakula cha mchana walikaribishana kwa kusema, “cha mchana.”

Msemo huo hulinganishwa na familia ya watu wale ambao wana ukarimu, katika maisha yao. Watu wa kwenye familia hiyo, huwakaribisha wenzao kula chakula chao unapofika wakati wa kula chakula hicho, kwa sababu ya ukarimu wao huo, maishani mwao. Wao hupata Baraka za kuishi kwa furaha kubwa katika familia yao kwa sababu ya ukarimu wao huo, katika maisha yao.

Watu hao, hufanana na wale waliokuwa na upendo wa kula kwa pamoja chakula chao cha mchana, kwa sababu nao wana ukaribu wa kuwakaribisha wenzao kula pamoja nao chakula chao, maishani mwao. Ndiyo maana huwakaribisha wenzao hao kwa kusema, “cha mchana.”

Msemo huo hufundisha watu juu ya kuwa na ukarimu wa kuwasaidia wenzao ambao wana matatizo, ili waweze kupata Baraka za kuishi kwa furaha kubwa kwenye familia zao hizo.

ENGLISH: LUNCH.

Lunch is a meal that is eaten during the day around noon time. There were members of the same family who were eating their meals together because of their love to one another. They used such time of eating for talking about plans of getting along well with their people. That is why when such time of eating reached they welcomed each other by saying, “lunch.”

This saying is related to a family of hospitable people in their lives. These people invite their friends to eat their meals when it is time to eat that meal, because of their hospitality in their lives. They receive blessings of living happily in their families because of their hospitality in their lives.

Those people, resemble those who lived to eat their meals together, because they also have such closeness of inviting their friends to eat their meals with them, in their lives. That is why they welcome their friends by saying, “lunch.”

This saying teaches people about being generous enough to help others who are in trouble, so that they can receive from God blessings of living happily in their families.

1320. JOCHAGE UDIZUJILYA.

Imbuki ya kahayile kenako ilolile bhocha bho nyama ya bhanamhala. Olihoyi namhala uyo agang’winha nsumba nimo go gocha nyama ya bhanamhala iyo idaliwagwa na bhangi abho bhadinhiwa ubhunamhala.

Inyama yiniyo ili idako lya ndimu giti ng’ombe, mbuli na ng’holo. Iyoyi igazugagwa nulu gochiwa na munhu uyo osolanyiyagwa uyo adazunilijiwe uguilya. Hunagwene unamhala ng’wunuyo agang’wila unsumba uyo giki, “jochage udizujilya.”

Akahayile kenako kagalenganijiyagwa kuli munhu uyo agabhalangaga lilange lya wiza abhana bhakwe, umukikalile kakwe. Umunhu ng’wunuyo, agafunyaga lilange lya wiza lya gwikala ni kujo ukubhatale bhabho bho guzunya gutumama milimo yabho chiza kunguno ya bhutogwa bhokwe ukubhanhu bhakwe bhenabho, umuwikaji bhokwe. Uweyi agadujaga ugwikala na witogwi bhutale na bhiye aha kaya yakwe kunguno ya lilange lyakwe ilyawiza linilo ukubhana bhakwe, umukikalile kakwe kenako.

Umunhu ng’wunuyo agikolaga nu namhala uyo agang’wila nsumba gocha nyama ya bhanamhala bho ndugu uguilya, kunguno nuweyi agabhalangaga lilange lya wiza lya gwikala nikujo ukubhatale bhabho bho guzunya gutumama milimo yabho chiza, umuwikaji bhokwe. Hunagwene agayombaga giki, “jochage udizujilya.”

Akahayile kenako kalanga bhabyaji higulya ya gubhiza na bhutogwa ukubhanhu bhabho bho gubhalanga lilange lya wiza abhana bhabho, kugiki bhadule gwikala na witogwi bhutale umukaya jabho.

KISWAHILI: ZICHOME USIZILE.

Chanzo cha msemo huo, huangalia uchomaji wa nyama ya wazee. Alikuwepo mzee aliye mpatia kijana kazi ya kuchoma nyama ya wazee ambayo hairuhusiwi kuliwa na wengine ambao hawajapewa uzee.

Nyama hiyo ni ya tako la mnyama kama vile ng’ombe, mbuzi, na kondoo. Yenyewe hupikwa au kuchomwa  na mtu yule aliyechakuliwa ambaye haruhusiwi kuila. Ndiyo maana mzee yule alimwambia yule kijana kwamba, “zichome usizile.

Msemo huo hulinganishwa kwa mtu yule ambaye hufundisha malezi mema kwa watoto wake, katika maisha yake. Mtu huyo, huwafundisha watoto malezi ya kuwaheshimu wakubwa wao kwa kukubali kufanya kazi zao vizuri, kwa sababu ya upendo mkubwa alio nao kwa watu wake hao, maishani mwake. Yeye hufanikiwa kuishi kwa upendo mkubwa na wenzake kwenye familia yake kwa sababu ya malezi hayo mema anayowafundisha watoto wake, katika maisha yake.

Mtu huyo, hufanana na yule mzee aliyempatia yule kijana kazi ya kuchoma nyama ya wazee bila kuila, kwa sababu naye huwafundisha watoto wake malezi mema ya kuwaheshimu wakubwa kwa kukubali kufanya kazi zao vizuri, maishani mwake. Ndiyo maana husema kwamba, “zichome usizile.”

Msemo huo hufundisha wazazi juu ya kuwa na upendo kwa watu wao kwa kuwafundisha malezi mema ya kuishi vizuri na wenzao, ili waweze kuishi kwa upendo katika familia zao.

ENGLISH: BURN THEM AND DO NOT EAT THEM.

The cradle of this saying looks at someone who had to burn meat of elders. There was an old man who gave a young man the work of burning meat of the elders which is not allowed to be eaten by others who have not been given old age.

Such meat is taken from a back of an animal such as: cow, goat, and sheep. It is cooked or burned by a chosen person who is not allowed to eat it. That is why the old man told the young man that, “burn them and do not eat them.”

This saying is paralleled to a man who teaches good upbringing to his children in his life. Such person, imparts in children upbringing of respecting their elders by assenting to do their jobs well, because of great love which he has for those people in his life. He succeeds in living peacefully with his family members because of the good upbringing which he gives to them in his life.

This man is like that old man who gave the young man a job of roasting meat of the elders without eating it, because he also teaches his children good upbringing enough to respect the elders by assenting to do their jobs well in his life. That is why he says that “burn them and do not eat them.”

This saying instills in parents love for their people which can support them in teaching children good upbringing enough to live well with their societal members, so that they can love each other in their daily lives.
