1344. GANGALA YA MAYOB’E.

Aho kale olihoyi munhu uyo oliosuga mayob’e aha kaya yake. Amayob’e genayo galigadalendaga aha kaya yakwe yiniyo kunguno ya gwikala gagulyaga jiliwe bhuli makanza. Agoyi gang’witilaga yombo bhuli makanza ung’wenego kunguno ya gukija gwifula ugudima. Hungwene abhanhu bhagagitana giki “gangala ya mayob’e.”

Akahayile kenako kagalenganijiyagwa kuli munhu uyo adalendaga aha kaya yakwe umukikalile kakwe. Umunhu ng’wunuyo agikalaga uyela muma kaya gabhanhu agucholaga jiliwa na guhoya bho nduhu nulu gutumama milimo aha ng’wakwe henaho umuwikaji bhokwe. Uweyi agadumaga uguilela chiza ikaya yakwe kunguno ya gwikala aguyungaga muma kaya ga bhangi, umuwikaji bhokwe.

KISWAHILI: GHASIZA ZA PUNDA.

Hapo zamani alikuwepo mtu aliyefuga punda kwenye familia yake. Punda hao walikuwa wakitembea hovyo bila kutulia nyumbani kwa sababu ya kutokupumzika kula. Wenyewe walikuwa wakiwapigia kelele kila wakati kwa sababu ya kutokupumzika kula. Ndiyo maana watu waliwapa jina la “ghasia za punda.”

Msemo huo hulinganishwa kwa mtu yule ambaye huwa hatalii kwenye familia yake katika maisha yake. Mtu huyo, huwa anazurura kwa kutembelea nyumba za watu akitafuta chakula bila kufanya kazi katika familia yake hiyo, maishani mwake. Yeye hushindwa kuilea vyema familia yake kwa sababu ya kutumia hovyo muda katika kutembelea watu wengine, katika maisha yake.

Mtu huyo, hufanana na wale punda waliokuwa wakitembea hovyo bila ya kutulia nyumbani, kwa sababu naye hupoteza muda wake kwa kuwatembelea wenzake bila ya kufanya kazi nyumbani. Ndiyo maana watu humuita jila la “ghasia za punda.”

Msemo huo, hufundisha watu juu ya kutulia kwenye familia zao bila ya kupoteza muda wao kwa kuwatembelea watu hovyo, ili waweze kuzilea vyema familia zao hizo, maishani mwao.

ENGLISH: DONKEY RUDE.

Once upon a time, there was a man who kept donkeys in his family. These donkeys used to wander around without resting at home because they did not stop eating. They themselves used to shout at them all the time because of using all time for eating. That is why populaces called them “donkey rude.”

This saying is equated to a person who does not stay well with his family in his life. This person always wanders around visiting people’s houses looking for food to eat without working in his family. He fails to nurture his family well because he spends his time by visiting other folks, in his life.

This person resembles those donkeys who wandered around without resting at home, because he also wastes his time by visiting his colleagues without working at his home. That is why individuals call him the “donkey rude.”

This saying teaches people about settling down in their families without wasting their time by visiting public, so that they can rear their family members well in their lives.

KISWAHILI: NIKO MLIMANI JUU.

Walikuwepo watu waliokuwa wakipanda mlima uliokuwa mrefu sana. Watu hao walijibidisha wote katika kuupanda mlima huo kwa sababu kila mmoja wao alitaka kuwa wa kwanza kufika juu ya mlima huo. Ndiyo maana mmoja wao alipofisha kule juu aliwaambia wenzake kwamba, “niko mlimani juu.”

Msemo huo hulinganishwa kwa mtu yule ambaye huwaongoza wenzake vizuri, katika maisha yake. Mtu huyo, huwaongoza watu kwa kujibidisha kufanya kazi vizuri na kuwasaidia watu wanaosumbuliwa na matatizo mbalimbali, kwa sababu ya uaminifu wake huo maishani mwake. Yeye huishi na watu wengi katika familia yake kwa sababu ya uaminifu wake huo katika uongozi wake.

Mtu huyo hufanana na yule aliyewatangulia wenzake kufika juu ya ule mlima, kwa sababu naye huwaongoza watu wake katika kufanya kazi vizuri na kutenda mema, maishani mwake. Ndiyo maana yeye husema kwamba, “niko mlimani juu.”

Msemo huo huwafundisha viongozi wa watu juu ya kuwa na uaminifu wa kuongoza watu wao katika kufanya kazi zao vizuri na kutenda mema, ili waweze kuishi kwa kufuraha kubwa, katika familia zao.

ENGLISH: I AM ON THE MOUNTAIN.

There were individuals who were climbing a very high mountain. They all worked hard to climb it because each of them wanted to be the first to reach on its peak. That is why when one of them reached it, he told his friends that, “I am on the mountain.”

This saying is matched to an individual who leads his friends well in his life. This man leads general public by working hard enough to support his people who are suffering from various hitches, because of his honesty in life. He lives with various persons in his family because of his honesty in his leadership.

This person is like the one who preceded his friends to reach the top of the mountain, because he also leads his individuals in working well by doing respectable deeds in his life. That is why he says, “I am on the mountain.”

This saying instills in public’s leaders a clue on being honest in leading their societies by doing their jobs well and good, so that they can live with great joy in their families.

KISWAHILI: MIMI NIMEFYEKA.

Kufyeka ni kukata miti kwa ajili ya kuandaa shamba la kulima. Alikuwepo mkulima aliyefyeta eneo kubwa kwa sababu ya kutaka kulima shamba kubwa kabisa. Mkulima huyo alililima vizuri shamba lake hilo mpaka akapata mazao mengi ya chakula kwa sababu ya kujibidisha kwake kufyeka mapema shamba lake hilo kubwa na kulilima vizuri. Ndiyo maana alisema kwamba, “mimi nimefyeka.”

Msemo huo hulinganishwa kwa mtu yule ambaye ana umakini wa kuuliewa vizuri muda wa kuyatekeleza majukumu yake, maishani mwake. Mtu huyo, hujibidisha kufanya kazi zake vizuri mpaka anazimaliza unapofika tu muda wake bila ya kuchelewa, kwa sababu ya umakini wake huo. Yeye hupata mali nyingi sana katika familia yake kwa sababu ya umakini wake huo wa kujibidisha kufanya kazi mpaka anazimaliza vizuri, kila unapofika wakati wake, maishani mwake.

Mtu huyo, hufanana na yule mkulima aliyefyeka shamba lake mpaka akalimaliza vizuri kwa sababu naye hujibidisha kuyatekeleza vizuri majukumu yake mpaka anayamaliza vizuri, maishani mwake. Ndiyo maana yeye husema kwamba, “mimi nimefyeka.”

Msemo huo, hufundisha watu juu ya kuwa na umakini wa kujibidisha kuyatakeleza vizuri majukumu yao kila unapofika muda bila ya kuchelewa, ili waweze kupata mali nyingi, maishani mwao.

ENGLISH: I HAVE CLEARED.

Clearing an area is wounding down shrubs with an aim of preparing a field for cultivation. There was a farmer who cleared a large area because he wanted to cultivate a very large field. Such farmer cultivated his field well until he got a lot of food crops because of his great effort enough to clear his large field early and cultivate it well. That is why he said, “I have cleared.”

This saying is paralleled to a man who is cautious enough to properly manage the time of carrying out his duties in his life. This person strives to do his works well until he finishes them within a required time without delaying, because of his thoughtfulness in life. He earns a lot of wealth in his family because of his responsiveness in working hard until he finishes his works well in his life.

This person is similar to the farmer who cleared his field until he finished it well in a required time because he also strives to carry out his duties well until he finishes them well in his life. That is why he says, “I have cleared.”

This saying imparts in individuals an idea of being cautious enough to do their duties well without delaying, so that they can gain numerous resources in their lives.

Abhanhu bhenabho bhagitaga bhukengeji ulu gwigelaga mhayo mpaga bhabhupandika ubhunhana na bhafunya ubhulamuji kunguno ya bhutengeke bhobho bhunubho umuwikaji bhobho. Abhanhu bhenabho bhagabhambilija chiza abhanhu bhabho ugubhupandika ubhunhana kunguno ya bhutengeke bhobho bhunubho umubhutumami bhobho.

Abhanhu bhenabho bhagikolaga na bhashilikale abho bhatumamaga milimo yabho chiza bho guchola bhunhana, kunguno na bhoyi bhagitaga bhukengeji ulu gwegelaga mhayo mpaga bhabhupandika ubhunhana bho nduhu gung’wibhonela munhu nulu gunmandila oseose, umuwikaji bhobho. KISWAHILI: MAYO MAPOLISI.

Mapolisi ni watu wanaoshika watu walionatenda maovu ili kulinda usalama wa wananchi na mali zao. Walikuwepo polisi waliokuwa wakiishi kwenye utawala wa uduhe. Polisi hao walitekeleza kazi zao vizuri kwa sababu waliwatafuta watenda maovu mpaka wanawapata kwa muda mfupi. Ndiyo maana watu walisema kwamba, “hayo mapolisi.”

Msemo huo hulinganishwa kwa watu wale ambao hutekeleza majukumu yao kwa kufuata haki na ukweli katika utumishi wao. Watu hao, hufanya utafiti wa kila tukio mpaka wanaupata ukweli ndipo wanatoa maamuzi, kwa sababu ya uaminifu wao huo katika utumishi huo, maishani mwao. Wao huwasaidia watu wao kupata haki zao upesi na vizuri kwa sababu ya uaminifu wao huo, katika utumishi wao.

Watu hao hufanana na wale polisi walioutekeleza utumishi wao vizuri kwa kufuata haki na ukweli, kwa sababu nao pia hufanya utafiti wa kila tukio mpaka wanaufahamu ukweli wake ndipo wanatoa maamuzi, bila ya kumpendelea au kumuonea mtu yeyote, maishani mwao. Ndiyo maana watu huwatambua kwa kusema kwamba, “hayo mapolisi.”

Msemo huo, hufundisha watu juu ya kuwa waaminifu kwa kuyatekeleza majukumu yao kwa kufuata haki na ukweli, ili waweze kuishi kwa amani, katika familia zao, maishani mwao.

Polices are people who catch individuals who have committed crimes. They do so for protecting safety of citizens and their property. There were polices who lived in uduhe chiefdom. They performed their duties well because they searched for criminals until they caught them within a short time. That is why people said that, “those are polices.”

This saying is equaled to people who perform their duties by following justice and truth in their service. These people do decent research of every incident until they find the truth and then make decisions, because of their loyalty in their services. They aid their people enough to get their rights quickly because of their loyalty in their services.

These people resemble the polices who performed their services well by following justice and truth, because they also research every incident until they understand its truth and then make decisions, without favoring or oppressing anyone, in their lives. That is why people recognize them by saying that, “those are polices.”

This saying teaches individuals about being honest by carrying out their duties in accordance with justice and truth, so that they can peacefully live in their families.

Akahayile kenako kalanga bhatongeji higulya ya gubhiza na witegeleja bho gwitano jigasho na bhanhu bhabho ja guhoyelela milimo yabho bhuli ng’waka kugiki bhadule kupandika mafumilo matale, umukaya jabho.

KISWAHILI: AMEENDA KWENYE KIKAO CHA NDUGU.

Msemo huo huongelea juu ya uendaji wa kwenye kikao cha ndugu wa mtu fulani. Hapo zamani alikuwepo mtu yule ambaye alikuwa akienda kwenye kikao cha ndugu kila mwaka kwa sababu ya upendo wa kuongoza vizuri watu wa ukoo wake. Watu wa kijiji hicho walimfahamu mwishowe kuwa yeye huenda kwenye kikao cha ukoo kila mwaka. Ndiyo maana walisema kwamba, “ameenda kwenye kikao cha ndugu.”

Msemo huo hulinganishwa kwa kiongozi yule ambaye huwaongoza vizuri watu wake katika utumishi wake. Kiongozi huyo, huitisha mkutano wa watu wake wa kuongelea juu ya maendeleo ya kazi zao pamoja na utatuzi wa matatizo yao kwa sababu ya umaskini wake huo wa kuwajali vizuri wake hao, maishani mwake. Yeye hukiendeleza vizuri kijiji chake hicho kwa sababu ya kuwaongoza vizuri wake hao, katika maisha yake.

Mtu huyo, hufanana na yule aliyeenda kwenye kikao cha ndugu kila mwaka, kwa sababu naye huitisha mkutano wa watu wa kuongelea juu ya maendeleo yao, maishani mwake. Ndiyo maana watu husema kwamba, “ameenda kwenye kikao cha ndugu.”

ENGLISH: HE HAS GONE TO A RELATIVES’ MEETING.

This proverb talks about someone’s going to a relatives’ meeting. In the past, there was a man who went to a meeting of relative each year because of leading well his clan. The populaces of that village eventually learned that he nicely led such meeting every year. That is why they said that, “He has gone to a relatives’ meeting.”

This proverb is equaled to a leader who leads his people well in his service. This leader calls a meeting of his people so as to talk about progress of their works as well as solving their problems because of his responsiveness of caring well for his people. He develops his village well because of leading nicely his people.
