1199. LIKI LIGUMOKAGA UMUNYASAMBA.

Igigela ndimu umunyasamba iyo yamokoka guti mbwa. Indimu yiniyo, abhanhu abhangi bhali bhadayimanile kunguno yalingeni ukumiso gabho. Hunagwene abhanhu bhenabho bhagabhuja giki, “liki ligumokaga umunyasamba?”

Akahayile kenako, kagalenganijiyagwa kuli munhu uyo agitaka bhukengeji bho gujibhebha ijigeni ukuli weyi, umukikalile kakwe. Umunhu ng’wunuyo, agawitaga ubhukengeji bhunubho bho gubhugilija kubhanhu ijikolo ijo adajimanile, kunguno ya guchobha gujimana chiza. Uweyi agamanaga mihayo mingi noyi ubhutumami bho milimo yakwe yiniyo, kunguno ya gwita bhukengeji bhokwe bhunubho, umuwikaji bhokwe.

Umunhu ng’wunuyo agikolaga nuyo agabhuja libhujo lya guidema indimu iyo yamokaga umunyasamba, kunguno nuweyi agitaga bhukengeji bho guchola gujidebha ijo adajimanile, umukikalile kakwe kenako. Hunagwene agabhujaga giki, “liki lugumokaga umunyasamba?”

Akahayile kenako, kalanga bhanhu higulya gwita bhukengeji bho gujidebha ijo bhadajimanile, umubhutumami bhobho, kugiki bhadule kupandika matwajo mingi, umuwikaji bhobho.

KISWAHILI: NINI KINABWEKA HUMU NYASAMBA?

Alionekana myama poli mule Nyasamba aliyekuwa akibweka kama mbwa. Mnyama huyo, hakufahamika kwa watu wengi kwa sababu ya ugeni wake kwao. Ndiyo maana watu waliuliza kwamba, “nini kinabweka humu nyasamba?”

Msemo huo, hulinganishwa kwa mtu yule ambaye hufanya utafiti wa kuvifahamu vitu vile ambavyo yeye havifahamu, katika maisha yake. Mtu huyo, hufanya utafiti wa kumwezesha kuvielewa vile ambavyo havifahamu, kwa sababu ya kutaka kuongeza ufahamu wake. Yeye hufanikiwa kuvielewa vitu vingi katika utekelezaji wa majukumu yake, kwa sababu ya kufanya utafiti huo, maishani mwake.

Mtu huyo, hufanana na yule aliyeluliza swali la kutaka kukifahamu kilichokuwa kinabheka mule Nyasamba, kwa sababu naye hufanya utafiti wa kuvifahamu vitu vile ambavyo havielewi, katika maisha yake. Ndiyo maana yeye huuliza kwamba, “nini kinabweka humu nyasamba.”

Msemo huo, hufundisha watu juu ya kufanya utafiti wa kutosha kuvielewa vile ambavyo ahawavielewi, katika maisha yao, ili waweze kupata mali za kutosha kuyaendesha vizuri maisha yao.

ENGLISH: WHAT IS BARKING HERE IN NYASAMBA?

There was a wild animal in Nyasamba which was barking like a dog. This animal was not known to many people because of its strangeness to them. That is why people asked that, “What is barking here in Nyasamba?”

This saying is equated to a person who does good research enough to understand things which he does not know, in his life. Such person does good research enough to enable him be aware of what he does not know, because he wants to increase his knowledge. He manages to know a good number of things in carrying out his duties, because of doing researches in his life.

This person resembles to the one who asked the question for knowing what was happening in Nyasamba, because he also does good research enough to understand things which he does not know, in his life. That is why he asks, “What is barking here in Nyasamba?”

This saying teaches people about doing good research enough to understand what they are not aware of, in their lives, so that they can get enough assets to run their lives well.

1198. NG’WA HENWA MHALI.

Bhalihoyi bhakima abho bhali bhatoililwe na ngosha umo. Aliyo lulu, ungosha ng’wunuyo, agaikala kuli nkima umo duhu, kunguno agantogwa weyi gukila abhangi. Hunagwene abhanhu aho bhadebha chene bhagabhawila abhakima bhangi bhenabho giki, “ng’wa henwa mhali.”

Akahayile kenako kagalenganijiyagwa kuli munhu uyo agabhuchaga milimo mingi mpaga aduma uguimala chiza, umukikalile kakwe. Umunhu ng’wunuyo, agandyaga gutumama milimo mingi iyo agadumama uguishisha chiza, kunguno agadumaga ugwigabhanhya umubhutumami bhokwe. Uweyi agayilekanijaga duhu imilimo yakwe yiniyo, kunguno ya guyandya mingi bho likanza limo, umuwikaji bhokwe.

Umunhu ng’wunuyo, agikolaga nuyo oliotola bhakima bhingi abho agaduma ugwikala nabho chiza, kunguno nuweyi agabhuchaga milimo mingi, mpaga oduma uguyishisha chiza, umubhutumami bhokwe. Hunagwene abhanhu bhagayiwilaga imilimo yakwe yiniyo giki, “ng’wa henwa mhali.”

Akahayile kenako, kalanga bhanhu higulya ya gubhiza na ng’witoji umo, na gutumama nimo gumo bhulikanza, kugiki bhadule gujilanhala chiza, ikaya jabho, umuwikaji bhobho.

KISWAHILI: MUMETELEKEZWA MITALA.

Walikuwepo wanawake walioolewa kwenye mitala na mwanamume mmoja. Lakini mwanamume huyo, aliishi kwa mwanamke mmoja tu, kwa sababu alimpenda zaidi kuliko wale wengine. Ndiyo maana watu walipogundua hivyo, waliwaambia wale wengine kwamba, “mumetelekezwa mitala.”

Msemo huo, hulinganishwa kwa mtu yule ambaye huanzisha kazi nyingi mpaka anashindwa kuzimaliza, katika maisha yake. Mtu huyo, huanzisha kazi nyingi kwa wakati mmoja ambazo hushindwa kuzikamilisha kwa sababu ya kushindwa kujigawa, katika utumishi wake. Yeye huzitelekeza kazi zake hizo, kwa sababu ya kuzianzisha nyingi kwa wakati mmoja, maishani mwake.

Mtu huyo, hufanana na yule aliyeoa wanawake wengi akashindwa kuishi nao vizuri, kwa sababu naye huanzisha kazi nyingi kwa wakati mmoja mpaka anashindwa kuzimaliza vizuri, katika utumishi wake. Ndiyo maana watu huziambia kazi zake hizo kwamba, “mumetelekezwa mitala.”

Msemo huo, hufundisha watu juu ya kuwa na ndoa ya mke mmoja na kutekeleza kazi moja kwa wakati mmoja, ili waweze kuzitunza vizuri familia zao, maishani mwao.

ENGLISH: YOU HAVE BEEN ABANDONED BY POLYGAMY.

There were women whom were married in polygamy to one man. But such man lived only with one woman, because he loved her more than the others. That is why when people found out, they told the others that, “You have been abandoned by polygamy.”

This saying is compared to a person who starts many tasks until he fails to finish them, in his life. Such person starts many tasks at the same time which he fails to complete because of not being able to divide himself, in his service. He neglects his works, because of starting a number of them at the same time, in his life.

This person is similar to the one who married many women and failed to live well with them, because he also starts many tasks at the same time until he fails to finish them well, in his service. That is why people say to his works that, “you have been abandoned by polygamy.”

This saying imparts in people an idea of having a monogamous marriage and doing one job at a time, so that they can take care of their families well, in their societies.

1197. OGIMA GUSULA NG’WIFUMA LYANE.

Olihoyi munhu uyo agageniha ha bhukwiye. Umunhu ng’wunuyo, agimaga gusula bhuli hene mpaga nose agasula ng’wibhelele lya ng’wa nina bhukwi okwe, kunguno ya bhugimu bhokwe bhunubho. Hunagwene unina bhukwi okwe ng’winuyo, agang’wila giki, “ogima gusula ng’wifuma lyane.”

Akahayile kenako, kagalenganijiyagwa kuli munhu uyo adina soni umukikalile kakwe kenako. Umunhu ng’wunuyo, agagimaga gwita mihayo ya soni ha bhutongi ya bhanhu bhakwe, kunguno ya bhugimu bhokwe bhunubho. Uweyi agipondaga soni aha kaya yakwe yiniyo, kunguno ya gwita mihayo ya soni ha bhutongi ya bhanhu bhakwe bhenabho, umuwikaji bhokwe.

Umunhu ng’wunuyo agikolaga nu nkwilima uyo agagima gusula ng’wib’eleb’ele lya nina bhukwi okwe, kunguno agagimaga gwita mihayo ya soni habhutongi ya bhanhu bhakwe, umukikalile kakwe kenako. Hunagwene umo obhanhu bhakwe bhenabho agang’wila giki, “ogima gusula ng’wifuma lyane.”

Akahayile kenako, kalanga bhanhu higulya ya guleka bhugimu bho gwita mihayo ya soni ha bhutongi bho bhanhu bhabho, kugiki bhadule gujilela chiza ikaya jabho, umuwikaji bhobho.

KISWAHILI: UMETHUBUTU KUCHUNGULIA KWENYE GHALA LANGU.

Alikuwepo mtu aliyeenda ugenini ukweni kwake. Mtu huyo, alithubutu kuchungulia kwenye ghala la mama mkwe wake, kwa sababu ya kutokuwa na mipaka kwake huko. Ndiyo maana mama mkwe wake alimwambia kwamba, “umethubutu kuchungulia kwenye ghala langu.”

Msemo huo, hulinganishwa kwa mtu asiyekuwa na adabu katika maisha yake. Mtu huyo, huthubutu kufanya mambo ya aibu mbele ya watu wake, kwa sababu ya kukosa adabu kwake huko. Yeye hujiaibisha mwenyewe kweye familia yake kwa sababu ya kutenda kwake mambo ya aibu mbele ya watu wake hao, maishani mwake.

Mtu huyo, hufanana na yule aliyethubutu kuchungulia kwenye ghala la mama mkwe wake huyo, kwa sababu naye hudiliki hutenda mambo ya aibu mbele ya watu wake hao, katika maisha yake. Ndiyo maana mmoja wa watu wake hao, humwambia kwamba, “umethubutu kuchungulia kwenye ghala langu.”

Msemo huo, hufundisha watu juu ya kuwa na adabu ya kuacha kutenda mambo ya aibu mbele ya watu wao, ili waweze kuzilea vizuri familia zao, maishani mwao.

ENGLISH: YOU DARED TO LOOK INTO MY STOCKROOM.

There was a man who went abroad to the house of his wife’s mother. Such man dared to look into his mother-in-law’s warehouse, because of his not having limitations in life. That is why his mother-in-law told him that, “you dared to look into my stockroom.”

This saying is paralleled to a person who has no manners in his life. Such person dares to do shameful things in front of his people, because of his lack of good manners. He embarrasses himself front of his family members because of his shameful actions in front of them, in his life.

This person resembles the one who dared to look into his mother-in-law’s barn, because he also does shameful things in front of his people in life. That is why one of them, tells him that, “you dared to look into my stockroom.”

This saying teaches people about having good manners enough to stop doing shameful things in front of their people, so that they can raise their families well, in their societies.

1196. YOMBAGA BHABHA NG’HANA.

Olihoyi munhu, uyo olina mamihayo mingi umuchalo jilebhe. Umunhu ng’wunuyo, agakumuka nose kunguno ya mihayo yakwe yiniyo umukikalile kakwe. Hunagwene abhanhu bhagayunkomeleja giki, “yombaga bhabha ng’hana.”

Akahayile kenako, kagalenganijiyagwa kuli munhu uyo ali nhalali, umukikalile kakwe. Umunhu ung’wunuyo, agayombaga mihayo ya bhulomolomo iyo agabhujiyagwa na bhiye ohalalika, kunguno ya bhuhalali bhokwe bhunubho, umukajile kakwe. Uweyi agidumama na bhanhu bhingi umuchalo jakwe, kunguno ya bhuhalali bhokwe bhunubho, umuwikaji bhokwe.

Umunhu ng’wunuyo, agikolaga nuyo olina mamihayo ayo gagabhakoyaga bhanhu, kunguno nuweyi alinhalali uyo agayombaga mihayo ya bhulomolomo, oyilema ulu obhujiwa na bhiye. Hunagwene abhanhu bhagang’wilaga giki, “yombaga bhabha ng’hana.”

Akahayile kenako kalanga bhanhu higulya ya kuyomba mihayo ya ng’hana bho guleka bhuhalali, umumahoya gabho, kugiki bhadule gujibheja chiza ikaya jabho, umuwikaji bhobho bhunubho.

Alikuwepo mtu ambaye alikuwa na maneno mengi katika kijiji fulani. Mtu huyo, alijulikana mwishowe kwa sababu ya maneno yake hayo, katika maisha yake. Ndiyo maana watu walimsisitiza kwa kumwambia kwamba, “sema baba kweli.”

Msemo huo, hulinganishwa kwa mtu yule ambaye ni mbishi katika maisha yake. Mtu huyo, huongea maneno ya uongo ambayo akiulizwa na wenzake huyakataa, kwa sababu ya ubishi wake huo, katika maisha yake. Yeye hukosana na watu wengi katika jiji chake, kwa sababu ya ubishi wake huo, maishani mwake.

Mtu huyo, hufanana na yule alikuwa na maneno yaliyowasumbua wenzake, kwa sababu naye ni mbishi anayeongea maneno ya uongo ambayo akiulizwa na wenzake, huyakataa. Ndiyo maana watu humwambia kwamba, “sema baba kweli.”

Msemo huo, hufundisha watu juu ya kuongea ukweli kwa kuacha ubishi, katika maongezi yao, ili waweze kuzilea vizuri familia zao, maishani mwao.

ENGLISH: SPEAK THE TRUTH FATHER.

There was a man who spoke many words in a certain village. He was known by people in his village because of his words. They finally discovered that, he was not speaking the truth. That is why they stressed him by telling him that, “speak the truth father.”

This saying is compared to a person who is a ridiculous one in his life. Such person, speaks false words which he rejects them when people ask him about them, because of his contention, in his life. He clashes with many people in his village, because of his scoffer, in his life.

This person is similar to the one who had words which were not true, because he is also a mocker who speaks false words which, when asked by his colleagues, he denies them. That is why people tell him that, “speak the truth father.”

This saying imparts in people an idea about speaking the truth by leaving liars, in their speech, so that they can raise their families well, in their lives.

1195. IJINIJO JILI JIGULU JA BHUKI.

Akahayile kenako, kalolile jigulu ijo ili si iyo ibhukilile higulya. Umujigulu jinijo jalijitelile nzuki umugaji bho gub’itila mupundu kunguno bholihoyi wasa wiza moyi. Inzuki jinijo, ligashiga likanza jubheja bhuki wingi gete moyi ubho bhanhu bhingi bhagabhubhona kunguno jali bihi na nzila. Hunagwene abhanhu bhenabho bhagayomba giki, “ijinijo jili jigulu ja bhuki.”

Akahayile kenako, kagalenganijiyagwa kuli munhu uyo alinsabhi omajikolo mingi na onholo ya wiza, umukikalile kakwe. Umunhu ng’wunuyo, abhambilijaga abhanhu bhingi abho bhagajaga bhagibhula makoye gabho hoyi, kunguno ya wiza nholo bhokwe bhunubho. Uweyi agikalaga na bhanhu bhingi noyi aha kaya yakwe, kunguno ya wizanholo bhokwe bhunubho, umuwikaji bhokwe.

Umunhu ng’wunuyo, agikolaga ni nzuki ijo jali na bhuki bhingi umujigulu jajo, kunguno nuweyi ali msabhi omajikolo mingi, umukikalile kakwe. Hunagwene abhanhu bhang’wilaga giki, “ijinijo jili jigulu ja bhuki.”

Akahayile kenako, kalanga bhanhu higulya ya gwigulambija gutumama milimo ya gubhenhela majikolo mingi, kugiki bhadule gubhambilija bhanhu bhingi, umuwikaji bhobho.

Mathayo 11:28-30.

KISWAHILI: HICHO NI KICHUGUU CHA ASALI.

Msemo huo, huangalia kichuguu ambacho ni aridhi iliyoinuka juu. Kichuguu hicho kilikuwa na nyuki waliotengeneza nzinga wao ndani yake, kwa sababu kilikuwa na nafasi kubwa ndani yake. Nyuki hao waliishi mule mpaka wakatengeneza asali nyingi ambayo watu wengi waliiona, kwa sababu kilikuwa karibu na njia. Ndiyo maana watu hao walisema kwamba, “hicho ni kuchuguu cha asali.”

Msemo huo, hulinganishwa kwa mtu yule ambaye ni tajiri wa mali nyingi, katika maisha yake. Mtu huyo, huwasaidia watu wengi wanaofika kwake kujieleza matatizo yao, kwa sababu ya ukarimu wake huo. Yeye huishi na watu wengi sana kwenye familia yake, kwa sababu ya ukaribu wake huo, maishani mwake.

 Mtu huyo, hufanana na wale nyuki waliotengeneza mzinga wao kwenye kichuguu ambao ulikuwa na asali nyingi, kwa sababu naye ni tajiri wa mali na vitu vyingi, katika maisha yake. Ndiyo maana watu humwambia kwamba, “hicho ni kuchuguu cha asali.”

Msemo huo, hufundisha watu juu ya kujibidisha kufanya kazi za kuwawezesha kupata mali nyingi, ili waweze kuwasaidia watu wengi, maishani mwao.

Mathayo 11:28-30.

ENGLISH: THAT IS A HONEY TUNNEL.

This saying looks at a tunnel that is a raised land. This tunnel had bees that made their hives in it, because it had a lot of space in it. These bees lived there until they made a lot of honey that many people saw, because of it being near the road. That is why those people said that, “that is a honey tunnel.”

This saying is paralleled to a person who is rich of many assets, in his life. Such person helps many people who come to him expressing their problems, because of his generosity. He lives with a good number of people in his family, because of his loveliness, in his life.

This person resembles the bees what made their hive in the tunnel that had a lot of honey, because he is also rich in wealth of many things in his life. That is why people speak about him that, “that is a honey tunnel.”

This saying teaches people about working hard enough to do things that enable them to get a lot of wealth, so that they can help a good number of people, in their lives.
