Akahayile kenako kanhoyelile munhu uyo olinhingi o mbina. Unhingi ng’wunuyo oliagutogilwe noyi unimo gokwe kunguno obhagongolaga chiza mpaga bhayega abhanhu abho bhang’witanaga umumilimo yabho. Hunagwene abhanhu bhenabho bhagayomba giki, “umunhu uyu alingongoji ng’wiza.”

Akahayile kenako kagalenganijiyagwa kuli munhu uyo ayidilille bho guitumama chiza ilimimo yakwe umukikalile kakwe. Umunhu ung’wunuyo, agabhalangaga milimo abhanhu bhakwe bho gushiga wangu aha milimo yiniyo na gwigulambija guitumama chiza kunguno ya bhukalalwa bho guidilila chiza ilimilimo yakwe yiniyo, umuwikaji bhokwe. KISWAHILI: MTU HUYU NI FANANI MZURI.

Msemo huo humuongelea mtu aliyekuwa fanani ambaye ni kiongozi wa kikundi cha ngoma. Fanani huyo aliipenda sana kazi yake kwa sababu aliwapamba kwa kuwaimbia nyimbo nzuri watu waliomwalika kwenye shughuli zao mpaka waliifurahia kazi yake hiyo. Ndiyo maana walisema kwamba, “mtu huyu ni fanani mzuri.”

Msemo huo, hulinganiswa kwa mtu yule ambaye huijali kwa kuitekeleza vizuri kazi yake, katika maisha yake. Mtu huyo, huwafundisha kazi watu wake kwa  kuwahi kwenda kazini na kujibidisha kuitekeleza vizuri kwa sababu ya kuipenda kazi hiyo kwa kuijali vizuri, maishani mwake. Yeye hupata mali nyingi katika familia yake hiyo kwa sababu ya kuwafundisha watu wake kazi kwa kuijali vizuri hivyo, katika maisha yake hayo.

Mtu huyo, hufanana na yule kiongozi wa kikundi cha ngoma aliyewapamba kwa kuwaimbia nyimbo nzuri watu waliomwalika kwenye sherehe zao, kwa sababu naye huwafundisha kazi watu wake kwa kujibidisha kuitekeleza vizuri, maishani mwake. Ndiyo maana watu husema kwamba, “mtu huyu ni fanani mzuri.”

Msemo huo hufundisha watu juu ya kuzijali vizuri kazi zao kwa kujibidisha kuzitekeleza vizuri, ili waweze kupata mafanikio mengi, katika familia zao, maishani mwao.

ENGLISH: THIS MAN IS A GOOD DANCER.

This proverb refers to a person who was a dancer who and leader of a dance group. This ballerina esteemed his job so much because he adorned people who invited him to their events by singing beautiful songs until they enjoyed his work. That is why they said, “This man is a good dancer.”

This proverb is related to a person who cares about his work by doing it well, in his life. This person teaches his people his exertions by going to work and working hard enough to do it well because he likes job by caring about it well, in his life. He earns a lot of wealth in his family because of teaching his people jobs by caring about them well, in his life.

This person is like the leader of a dance group who adorned people who invited him to their events by singing beautiful songs, because he also teaches his people on how to how work by working hard in his life. That is why people say that, “This man is a good dancer.”

This proverb imparts in people an idea of taking decent care of their works by working hard, so that they can achieve great success, in their families in all days of their lives.

Abhakamba bhali bhanhu abho bhadimalaga kajile kabho chiza kihamo na bhaloha. Abhakamba bhenabho bhalibha kulyandi abho bhatumamaga milimo yabho bho ng’wigwano gutale kunguno ya gugadimila chiza amalagilo gabho umuwikaji bhobho.  Abhoyi umubhutumami bhobho galigadikumwaga amagembe gabho ulu bhalilima, ulu gikumwa bhugodoka guja kaya mumho bhalemaga abhakamba kunguno ya gugadimila chiza amalagilo gabho genayo. Hunagwene ulu gikumwaga amagembe gabho bhiwilaga kushoka kaya bho guyomba giki, “bhalemaga abhakamba.”

Akahayile kenako kagalenganijiyagwa ku bhanhu abho bhagagadimilaga chiza amalagilo ga bhatale bhabho, umukikalile kabho. Abhanhu bhenabho bhagatumamaga milimo yabho bho ng’wigwano go gugadimila chiza amalagilo ga bhatale bhabho kunguno ya witegeleja bhobho bhunubho umuwikaji bhobho. Abhoyi bhagikalaga na bhuyegi bhutale umukaya jabho kunguno ya witegeleja bhobho ubho gugadimila chiza amalagilo ga bhatale bhabho, umukikalile kabho kenako.

KISWAHILI: WAKAMBA WAMEKATAA.

Wakamba ni watu walioshika desturi zao vizuri pamoja na Baloha. Wakamba hao wa kulyandi pamoja na baloha walifanya kazi zao kwa ushirikiano mkubwa kwa sababu ya kuyashikiria vizuri maagizo yao, maishani mwao. Wao wanapofanya kazi ya kulima majembe yalikuwa hayagusani, yakigusana walirudi nyumbani maana yake wamekataa wakamba kwa sababu ya kuyashikilia vizuri maagizo yao. Ndiyo maana yalipogusana majembe yao waliambiana kurudi nyumbani kwa kusema kwamba, “Wakamba wamekataa.”

Msemo huo hulinganishwa kwa watu wale wanaoyashikiria vizuri maagizo ya viongozi wao katika maisha yao. Watu hao, huyatekeleza majukumu yao kwa ushirikiano wa kuyashikiria maagizo ya viongozi wao kwa sababu ya umakini wao huo maishani mwao. Wao huishi kwa furaha kubwa katika familia zao kwa sababu ya kuyashikiria vizuri maagizo ya viongozi wao, katika maisha yao hayo.

Watu hao hufanana na wakamba walioyashikiria vizuri maagizo yao mpaka wakawa na ushirikiano mkubwa katika kazi zao, kwa sababu nao huyashikiria vizuri maagizo ya viongozi wao mpaka wanapata furaha kubwa katika familia zao. Ndiyo maana wao husema kwamba, “wakamba wamekataa.”

Msemo huo hufundisha watu juu ya kuwa na umakini wa kuyashikiria vizuri maagizo ya viongozi wao, ili waweze kuwa na furaha kubwa katika maisha yao.

ENGLISH: THE KAMBA HAVE REFUSED.

The Kamba are a people who have kept their traditions well together with the Baloha. The Kamba of ridge and the Baloha did their works in great cooperation because they followed their instructions well, in their lives. When they were working by cultivating their land using hand hoes, they did not allow their hoes to touch each other, if they touched each other they returned home, meaning that the Kamba had rejected because of following their instructions well. That is why when their hoes touched each other, they told each other to return home by saying that, “The Kamba have refused.”

This saying is compared to people who follow instructions of their leaders well in their lives. These people carry out their duties in cooperation by following instructions of their leaders because of their paying attention to their lives. They live very happily in their families because of following instructions of their leaders, in their lives.

These people are like those who have followed their leaders’ instructions well until they have great cooperation in their works, because they also follow instructions of their leaders well until they find great happiness in their families. That is why they say that, “the Kamba have refused.”

This saying teaches people about being watchful enough to follow the instructions of their leaders well, so that they can have great happiness in their lives.

1399. NAJIKANDILE JUMONDA.

Imbuki ya kahayile kenako ihoyelile bhukandi bho bhusu bho ngano. Olihoyi munhu uyo okandaga bhusu bho ngano ub’o bhugakandwa mpaga bhomonda na wigelelwa guzugwa mandazi, chapati na migate. Hunagwene umunhu ng’wunuyo agayombaga giki “najikandandilile jumonda.”

Akahayile kenako kagalenganijiyagwa kuli munhu uyo alindamu ugutumama milimo yakwe, umukikalile kakwe. Umunhu ng’wunuyo, agigulambijaga gutumama milimo yakwe bho nguvu ningi na bhukamu bhutale kunguno ya bhutungilija bhokwe mpaga onamhala naonaga lulu uguitumama imilimo yiniyo. Uweyi agapandikaga matwajo mingi aha kaya yakwe kunguno ya bhukamu bhunubho ubho gutumama milimo yakwe bho nguvu ningi, umuwikaji bhokwe.

Umunhu ng’wunuyo agikolaga nuyo agakanda bhusu bho ngano mpaga bhumonda bho gwikoma guzugwa mandazi, chapati na migate, kunguno nuweyi agatumamaga milimo yakwe mpaga opandika matwajo mingi, umuwikaji bhokwe. “hunagwene agayombaga giki, “najikandile jumonda.”

Akahahile kenako kalanga bhanhu higulya ya gubhiza na bhutungilija bho gwigulambija gutumama milimo yabho bho nguvu ningi, kugiki bhadule kupandika matwajo gagubhambilija ugujibheja chiza ikaya jabho, umuwikaji bhobho.

 KISWAHILI: NIMEUKANDA UKALAINIKA.

Chanzo cha msemo huo huongelea juu ya unga wa ngano.  Alikuwepo mtu aliyekuwa akitengeneza unga huo wa ngano kwa kuukanda mpaka ukalainika kiasi cha kutosha kutumika kwa kupikia maandazi, chapati na mikate. Ndiyo maana alisema kwamba, “nimeukanda ukalainika.”

Msemo huo, hulinganishwa kwa mtu yule ambaye ni mkakamavu wa kufanya kazi katika maisha yake. Mtu huyo, hujibidisha kufanya kazi zake kwa nguvu nyingi na kwa bidii kubwa kwa sababu ya uaminifu wake huo, mpaga anazeeka ndipo anachoka kuzifanya kazi hizo. Yeye hupata mafanikio mengi katika familia yake kwa sababu ya bidii yake hiyo ya kufanya kazi zake kwa nguvu nyingi, maishani mwake.

Mtu huyo hufanana na yule aliyekanda unga wa ngano mpaga ukalainika kiasi chakutosha kutumika kwa kupikia maandazi, chapati na mikate, kwa sababu naye hufanya kazi zake kwa nguvu mpaka anapata mafanikio mengi maishani mwake. Ndiyo maana yeye husema kwamba, “nimeukanda ukalainika.”

Msemo huo, hufundisha watu juu ya kuwa na uaminifu wa kujibidisha kuyatekeleza majukumu yao kwa nguvu nyingi, ili waweze kupata mafanikio mengi ya kuwasaidia katika kuziendeleza vizuri familia zao, maishani mwao.

ENGLISH: “I KNEADED IT UNTIL IT WAS SOFT.”

The origin of this saying is about wheat flour. There was a person who was making wheat flour by kneading it until it was soft enough to be used for baking buns, and bread. That is why he said that, “I kneaded it until it was soft.”

This saying is matched to a person who is hardworking in his life. This person, exerts himself to do his work with great strength and diligence because of his loyalty, when he gets old he gets tired of doing those jobs. He achieves a lot of success in his family because of his diligence in doing his works with great strength, in his life.

This person resembles the one who kneaded wheat flour until it was soft enough to be used for baking buns, and bread, because he also works hard until he achieves a lot of success in his life. That is why he says that, “I kneaded it until it was soft.”

This saying instills in people a clue of being honest and hard working enough to nicely fulfill their responsibilities, so that they can achieve countless successes which can help them in developing their family lives.

1398. UMUNHU UYU AGIMINYAGA WEYI NG’WINIKILI.

Olihoyi munhu uyo olina nguzu ningi umuchalo ja Ngeme. Umunhu ng’wunuyo abhuchaga miligo midito mpaga oyukoya ugusiminza kunguno ya wihadikija bhokwe bhunubho. Uweyi agayukeleja nose ugumisha kunguno ya bhunoge bho gubhucha miligo midito yiniyo. Hunagwene nose abhanhu bhagayuyomba giki, “umunhu uyu agiminyaga weyi ng’winikili.”

Akahayile kenako kagalenganijiyagwa kuli munhu uyo agatumamaga milimo midito bho nduhu ugugusatwa umili gokwe. Umunhu ng’wunuyo, agatumamaga milimo midito gwingila diyu mpaga mhindi kunguno ya gukija ugugusatwa umili gokwe gunuyo, umubhutumami bhokwe bhunubho. Uweyi agikalaga anogile bhuli makanza kunguno ya gutumama milimo midimu yiniyo bho nduhu ugugusatwa umili gokwe gunuyo, umuwikaji bhokwe.

KISWAHILI: MTU HUYU HUJIUMIZA YEYE MWENYEWE.

Alikuwepo mtu aliyekuwa na nguvu nyingi katika kijiji cha Ngeme. Mtu huyo alikuwa akibeba mizigo mizito mpaka anaanza kutembea kwa shida kwa sababu ya kujilazimisha kubeba mizigo hiyo. Yeye alifikia hatua ya kuchelewa kuamuka asubuhi kwa sababu ya uchovu huo wa kubeba mizigo mizito, katika maisha yake. Ndiyo maana mwishowe watu walisema kwamba, “mtu huyo hujiumiza yeye mwenyewe.”

Msemo huo hulinganishwa kwa mtu yule ambaye hufanya kazi bila ya kuuhurumia mwili wake, katika maisha yake. Mtu huyo, hufanya kazi nzito kuanzia asubuhi hadi jioni kwa sababu ya kukosa umakini wa kuuhurumia mwili wake huo, katika kazi zake. Yeye huwa ana uchovu kila wakati kwa sababu ya kufanya kazi hizo ngumu bila ya kuuhurumia mwili wake huo, maishani mwake.

Mtu huyo, hufanana na yule aliyebeba mizigo mizito mpaka akaanza kutembea kwa shida, kwa sababu naye hufanya kazi ngumu mpaka analala akiwa amechoka sana, katika maisha yake. Ndiyo maana watu husema kwamba, “mtu huyu hujiumiza yeye mwenyewe.”

Msemo huo, hufundisha watu juu ya kuwa na umakini wa kuilinda miili yao wanapofanya kazi zao, ili waweze kuishi kwa furaha katika familia zao, maishani mwao.

ENGLISH: THIS MAN HURTS HIMSELF.

There was a man who was so strong in the village of Ngeme. He used to carry heavy maize sacks until he started walking with difficulty because of forcing himself to carry those sacks. He reached the point of waking up late in the morning because of the fatigue of carrying those heavy maize sacks, in his life. That is why people said about him that, “this man hurts himself.”

This saying is equated to a person who works without pitying his body, in his life. This person, does heavy works from morning to evening because of the lack of decent attention enough to pity his body, in his works. He is always tired because of doing those hard jobs without pitying his body, in his life.

This person resembles the one who carried heavy maize sacks until he started walking with difficulty, because he also works hard until he goes to bed very tired, in his life. That is why people say about him that, “this man hurts himself.”

This saying instills in people an idea of being watchful enough to protect their bodies while doing their jobs, so that they can live happily in their families, in their lives.

Aho kale olihoyi munhu uyo wikalaga muchalo ja Sanjo. Umunhu ng’wunuyo, ujimalaga wangu ijiliwa jakwe kunguno ya gugayiwa witegeleja bho gujilanhana chiza umukikalile kakwe kenako. Uweyi wikalaga na bhusunduhasi kunguno ya gugayila jilliwe aha kaya yakwe mpaga olala bho nduhu gulya jiliwa aha ng’wakwe, umukikalile kakwe. Hunagwene abhanhu bhagang’wila giki, “olalila uyu.”

Akahayile kenako kagalenganijiyagwa kuli munhu uyo agajitumilaga sagara isabho ijo agajipandikaga umukikalile kakwe. Umunhu ng’wunuyo apajipandikaga isabho jakwe ujitumamila sagala bho gujigulia majikolo ayo gadina solobho aha kaya yakwe, kunguno ya gugayiwa witegeleja bho gujitumamila chiza isabho jakwe jinijo, umuwikaji bhokwe bhunubho. Uweyi agajimalaga isabho ijo agajipandikaga mpaga oyulala nzala aha kaya yakwe kunguno ya gugayiwa witegeleja bho gujilanhana chiza isabho jakwe jinijo, umukikalile kakwe kenako.

Umunhu ng’wunuyo agikolaga nuyo ojimalaga wangu ijiliwa jakwe mpaga olala bho nduhu gulya jiliwa aha kaya yakwe, kunguno nuweyi agajimalaga bho gujitumamila sagala isabho jakwe mpaga olala bho nduhu gulya jiliwa, aha kaya yakwe yiniyo, umuwikaji bhokwe bhunubho. Hunagwene abhanhu bhagang’wilaga giki, “olalila uyu.”

Akahayile kenako kalanga bhanhu higulya ya gubhiza na witegeleja bho gujilanhana chiza isabho ijo bhagajipandikaga, kugiki bhadule gwikala na jiliwa ja gulya chiza umukaya jabho.

KISWAHILI: KALALA NJAA HUYU.

Hapo zamani alikuwepo mtu aliyeishi kwenye kijiji cha Sanjo. Mtu huyo, alikuwa akikimaliza haraka chakula alichokipata kwa sababu ya kukosa umakini wa kuvitunza vizuri vyakula hivyo. Yeye alikuwa na huzuni kwa sababu ya kukosa chakula kwenye familia yake hiyo mpaga akafikia hatua ya kulala bila kula chakula, katika maisha yake. Ndiyo maana watu walimwambia kwamba, “kalala njaa huyu.”

Msemo huo hulinganishwa kwa mtu yule ambaye huzitumia hovyo mali anazozipata, katika maisha yake. Mtu huyo, hupata mali zake na kuzitumia hovyo kwa kuzinunulia vitu visivyo na faida kwenye familia yake, kwa sababu ya kukosa umakini wa kuzitumia vizuri mali zake hizo, maishani mwake. Yeye huzimaliza mali zake hiyo mpaka anafikia hatua ya kulala bila kula chakula kwenye familia yake hiyo, kwa sababu ya kukosa umakini huo wa kuzitunza vizuri mali anazozipata, katika maisha yake.

Mtu huyo hufanana na yule aliyekimaliza haraka chakula chake mpaka akafikia hatua ya kulala bila kula chakula katika familia yake hiyo, kwa sababu naye huzitumia hovyo mali zake mpaka anaishiwa na kulala bila kula chakula katika familia yake hiyo, maishani mwake. Ndiyo maana watu humwambia kwamba, “kalala njaa huyu.”

Msemo huo hufundisha watu juu ya kuwa na umakini wa kuzitunza vizuri mali zao, ili waweze kuwa na chakula cha kutosha kula vizuri, katika familia zao.

He was so sad because of food shortage in his family that he went to bed without eating food in his life. That is why people said about him that, “This one has slept hungry.”

This saying is compared to a person who spends his money in a wasteful way. This person earns his money and spends it in a wasteful way by buying useless things for his family, because he is not careful enough to take virtuous care of the money which he gets, in his life. He spends his money until he reaches the point of going to bed without eating food in his family, because of not being careful enough to take decent care of his money in his life.

This person is like the one who quickly finished his food until he reached the point of going to bed without eating food in his family, because he also spends his wealth in such a way that he runs out and goes to bed without eating food in his family, in his life. That is why people say about him that, “this one has slept hungry.”

This saying imparts in people an idea of being careful enough to take respectable care of their wealth, so that they can have enough food to eat, in their families.
