936. KALAGU – KIZE. NGENI OMAJIZWALO MINGI – LINDEGE.

Ilindege jili jiliwa ijo jigalimagwa japya. Ilindege linilo, ulu lyupya ligikalaga na madutu mingi noyi. Amadutu genayo gagikolanijiyagwa na jizwalo kunguno gagaligubijaga ilindege linilo guti lyakumbagwa myenda. Hunagwene abhanhu bhagiganilaga giki, “ngeni amajizwalo mingi – lindege.”

Ikalagu yiniyo, igalenganijiyagwa kuli munhu uyo agatumamaga milimo mingi, umukikalile kakwe. Umunhu ng’wunuyo, agayitumama milimo iyo ayimalile kunguno ya bhukamu bhokwe bho milimo bhunubho. Uweyi agaponaga majiliwa mingi noyi kunguno ya wikomeja bhokwe bhunubho ubho gulima jiliwa ja mbika mingi, umuwikaji bhokwe.

Mhindi ni chakula kile ambacho hulimwa na kuivishwa. Mhindi huo, ukikomaa huwa na maganda mengi sana. Maganda hayo, hufananishwa na nguo kwa sababu ya kuufunika mhindi kama umefunikwa na nguo. Ndiyo maana watu huhadithiana kwamba, “mgeni mwenye mavazi mengi – mhindi.”

Kitendawili hicho, hulinganishwa kwa mtu yule ambaye hufanya kazi nyingi katika maisha yake. Mtu huyo, huyatekeleza majukumu mengi anayofahamu kwa sababu ya bidii yake hiyo ya kufanya kazi. Yeye hupata mazao mengi sana kwa sababu ya bidii yake hiyo ya kulima vyakula vya aina mbalimbali, maishani mwake.

Mtu huyo, hufanana na ule mhindi wenye maganda mengi, kwa sababu naye huyatekeleza majukumu mengi, maishani mwake. Ndiyo maana watu humuita kwamba ni “mgeni mwenye mavazi mengi – mhindi.”

Kitendawili hicho, hufundisha watu juu ya umuhimu wa kujifunza kufanya kazi nyingi katika maisha yao, ili waweze kupata faida ya kuwa na mali nyingi, maishani mwao.

ENGLISH: I HAVE A RIDDLE- LET IT COME.

A GUEST OF MANY CLOTHES – MAIZE.

Maize is the food that is grown by farmers in various places. This maize has many pods when it is ripe. The pods are likened to clothes because they cover it as if it were covered with clothes. That is why people say to one another that, “a guest of many clothes – maize.”

This riddle is equaled to the person who does the most of his/her life. This person performs many tasks that he or she is aware of because of his or her hard working life. He/she earns a lot of money because of his/her hard work in growing a variety of foods in his/her life.

This person resembles the maize that has many pods, because he/she also fulfills many responsibilities, in his/her life. That is why people refer to him/her as “a guest of many clothes – maize.”

This riddle instills in people an idea of learning to work hard in their lives, so that they can get many possessions in their lives.

MWANANGU ANALIA DUNIA INASIKIA – RADI.

Kitendawili hicho, huongelea Radi. Radi hiyo, ni kitu kikali ambacho huungaluma wakati wa mvua. Yenyewe ikiunguluma kila mtu hushituka kwa sababu ya kuogopa. Ndiyo maana watu huhadithiana kwamba, “mwanangu analila dunia inasikia  – Radi.”

Kitendawili hicho hulinganishwa kwa kiongozi yule ambaye watu wake huisikia vizuri sauti yake. Mtu huyo, huwaongoza vizuri watu wake kwa sababu ya kuitumia vizuri hekima aliyo nayo kwa watu wake hao. Yeye huwaunganishwa vizuri watu wake hao, kwa sababu ya kutumia vizuri hekima na upendo wake kwao, uongozini mwake.

Mtu huyo, hufanana na ile Radi ambayo huunguluma mpaga watu wanaisikia, kwa sababu naye huwaongoza watu kwa hekima ya kutumia sauti wanayoisikia vizuri, katika uongozi wake. Ndiyo maana watu humwambia kwamba, “mwanangu analila dunia inasikia  – Radi.”

Kitendawili hicho, hufundisha watu juu ya kuwa na hekima ya kuwaongoza watu wao kwa kutumia sauti wanayoweza kuisikia vizuri, ili waweze kuishi kwa amani, maishani mwao.

ENGLISH: I HAVE A RIDDLE – LET IT COME.

MY SON CRIES THE WORLD HEARS – THE LIGHTNING.

This riddle looks at the Lightning. This lightning, is a strong object that scurries during the rainy season. When it roars, everyone is terrified. That is why people tell each other that, “My son cries the world hears –the lighting.”

This riddle is related to a leader whose people hear his voice well. Such man, in turn, leads his people in the right direction because of the wise use of his wisdom. He unites his people, because of his wise use of love for citizens in his leadership.

This person is like the Thunderbolt that roars until people hear it, because he also guides people with wisdom by using the sound that they hear well, in his instructions. That is why people say to him that, “My son cries the world hears – the lighting.”

This riddle teaches people about the having wisdom of guiding their people by using a voice that they can hear well, so that they can live peacefully, in their lives.

Kitendawili hicho, huangalia mvua ndogo ndogo. Mvua hiyo, ndogo ndogo ni mvua inayonyesha kigodo kidogo, kwa muda mrefu mpaga inailainisha aridhi. Yenyewe huwa haikatiki mapema. Hiyo ndiyo ile ambayo watu wanayoiita, “kijana mwenye miguu mirefu – mvua ndogo ndogo.”

Kitendawili hicho, hulinganishwa kwa mtu yule ambaye huyatekeleza majukumu yake kwa uvumilivu mkubwa mpaga anayamaliza, katika maisha yake. Mtu huyo, huwa na moyo wa kuyajali majukumu yake hayo kwa kuyatekeleza vizuri na kwa bidii kubwa. Yeye hupata mali nyingi kwa sababu ya uvumilivu wake huo wa kuyajali majukumu yakwe kwa kuyatekeleza vizuri, maishani mwake.

Mtu huyo, hufanana na ile mvua ndogo ndogo ililoilainisha aridhi vizuri, kwa sababu naye hutekeleza majukumu yake kwa moyo wa bidii na uvumilivu mkubwa mpaga anayamaliza, katika maisha yake. Ndiyo maana watu humwita kwamba ni “kijana mwenye miguu mirefu – mvua ndogo ndogo.”

Kitendawili hicho, hufundisha watu juu ya kuwa na moyo wenye bidii na uvumilifu wa kuyatekeleza majukumu yao mpaga mwisho, ili waweze kupata mafanikio ya kuwa na mali nyingi, maishani mwao.

A YOUNG MAN WITH LONG LEGS – A LITTLE RAIN.

The overhead riddle looks a little rain. This rain is a rain that hails slowly for a long time until it softens the ground. It does not stop raining early. That is what people call it as, “a young man with long legs – a little rain.”

This riddle is compared to the person who performs his duties with great patience and perseverance, in his life. He has courage to take care of his responsibilities by performing them well and with great diligence. He earns a lot of money because of his perseverance in caring for his responsibilities by fulfilling them well, in his life.

This man is like the little rain that softened the ground well, because he also carries out his duties with the heart of diligence and great patience from the beginning to the end, in his life. That is why people call him “a young man with long legs – a little rain.”

This riddle imparts in people an idea on how to have heart of perseverance in carrying out their responsibilities to the end, so that they can have success of having sundry possessions in their lives.

Akahayile kenako, kagalenganijiyagwa kuli munhu uyo agikalaga na bhanhu chiza, umuwikaji bhokwe. Umunhu ng’wunuyo, alina bhutogwa ukubhazenganwa bhakwe, kunguno amanile igiki uwitogwi bhugabhalumanyaga abho bhisegenela bho gwikolwa. Uweyi agabhambilijaga bhanhu bhingi, kunguno ya bhutogwa bhokwe ubho bhugabhenhaga halumo pye abhanhu, kihamo nabho bhazengile kule, umukikalile kabho.

Umunhu ng’wunuyo, agikolaga nu nzenganwa uyo agabhambilija abhiye, kunguno nu weyi alina bhutogwa bho gubhambilija pye abhanhu bhakwe, umuwikaji bhokwe. Uweyi agabhutumilaga ubhutogwa bhokwe bhunubho, bho gubhalumanya halumo abhanhu bhakwe. Hunagwene agabhawilaga abhanhu bhakwe bhenabho giki, “okule adambilijaga.”

KISWAHILI: ALIYE MBALI HASAIDII.

Msemo huo, huongelea juu ya msaada wa mtu. Msaada huo, hutolewa na mtu yule ambaye yuko karibu na yule anayehitaji msaada huo. Mtu aliye mbali hawezi kusaidia kwa mtu yule ambaye yuko mbali na yeye. Mtoaji wa msaada huo ni yule aliye karibu na yule anayehitaji kupewa msaada huo. Ndiyo maana watu husema kwamba, “aliye mbali hasaidii.”

Msemo huo, hulinganishwa kwa mtu yule ambaye huishi vizuri na watu wake, maishani mwake. Mtu huyo, ana upendo kwa majirani zake, kwa sababu anaelewa kwamba, upendo huwaunganishwa watu waliokaa mbali kwa sababu ya kuwepo kwa chuki kati yao. Yeye huwasaidia watu wengi katika kuishi pamoja kwa sababu ya upendo wake ambao huwaleta pamoja watu wote hata wale wanaishi mbali, katika maisha yao.

Mtu huyo, hufanana na yule jirani aliyewasadia wenzake, kwa sababu naye ana upendo wa kuwapatia msaada watu wake wote, maishani mwake. Yeye huutumia upendo wake huo kwa kuwaunganisha watu wake. Ndiyo maana huwaambia watu wake hao kwamba, “aliye mbali hasaidii.”

Msemo huo, hufundisha watu juu ya kuwa na upendo wa kuwaunganishwa pamoja watu wao, ili waweze kusaidiana vizuri, maishani mwao.

ENGLISH: THE ONE WHO IS FAR AWAY DOES NOT HELP.

The above saying speaks about one’s help. Such support is provided by the person who is closest to the person who needs it. A person who is far away cannot help the one who is far away. The supporter is the one who is close to the one who needs such an aid. That is why people say that “the one who is far away does not help.”

This saying is applied to the person who lives well with his people in the daily life. Such person, in turn, has true love for his/her neighbors, because he/she understands that love can connect people who live far away because of the existence of hatred that exsits between them. He helps many people in living together because of his/her true love that brings together all people even those who live far away in their lives.

This person is like the neighbor who helped others, because he/she also has true love for helping all his/her people in life. He/she uses that love for uniting his/her people. That is why he/she tells them that, “the one who is far away does not help.”

This saying teaches people on how to have true love that can unite them with their people, so that they can help each other well in their lives.

Ijiloti galimiganiko ayo gagizaga umuntwe go ng’wa munhu uyo alalile tulo. Amiganiko genayo, gagantulaga unoti muchalo ijo atiho bho gubhiza guti alilola senema, kunguno agakilaga alihoyi duhu aho alalile. Hunagwene abhanhu bh’gang’wilaga giki “olalaga aliyo ukunu alilola senema – jiloti.”

Ikalagu yiniyo, igalenganijiyagwa kuli munhu uyo agapandikaga mahano bho nzila ya jiloti. Umunhu ng’wunuyo, alina guzunya gutale ukuli msumbi okwe, uyo agang’wilaga mihayo ya gunhugula uweyi na bhanhu bhakwe. Uweyi agapijiyagwa umumakoye nu Mulungu uyo aganhugula gubhitila mu nzila ya jiloti jinijo, umukikalile kakwe.

Ndoto ni mawazo ambayo huja kichwani mwa mtu yule aliyelala usingizi. Mawazo hayo, humuweka muotaji huyo kwenye mazingira ya kijiji kile ambacho haupo kwa kuoneka kama anaona senema, kwa sababu yeye hubakia pale alipo lala tu. Ndiyo maana watu humwambia kwamba, “amelala lakini huku anaangalia sinema – ndoto.”

Kitendawili hicho, hulinganishwa kwa mtu yule ambaye hupata maono kwa njia ya ndoto. Mtu huyo, ana imani kubwa kwa Muumba wake ambaye humwambia maneno ya kumuonya yeye na watu wake. Yeye huepupushwa na matatizo mbalimbali na Mungu kupitia njia hiyo ya ndoto hizo, katika maisha yake.

Mtu huyo, hufanana na yule aotaye kwamba yuko kwenye kijiji kingine wakati yupo pale tu, alipo lala usingizi huo, kwa sababu naye huambiwa maneno ya kumuonya kwa njia hiyo ya ndoto. Ndiyo maana watu humwambia kwamba, “amelala lakini huku anaangalia sinema – ndoto.”

Kitendawili hicho, hufundisha watu juu ya kuwa na imani kubwa kwa Mungu, ili waweze kuyaelewa maono anayowaletea kupitia njia hiyo ya ndoto, maishani mwao.

ENGLISH: I HAVE RIDDLE – LET IT COME.

ONE HAS SLEPT BUT WHILE WATCHING A MOVIE – A DREAM.

Dreams are thoughts that come to the mind of the sleeping person. They, however, put the dreamer in the context of being in a village where he/she does not exist. It appears as a watching movie time to the dreamer, because he/she stays where he/she is sleeping. That is why people tell such dreamer that, “one has slept while watching a movie – a dream.”

This riddle is likened to the person who receives a vision through a dream. Such person has strong faith in his Creator, who speaks words of warning for him and his people. He is awakened by various problems with God tell him through the same means of those dreams, in his life.

This person is like the one who dreams that he is in another village while he is just there sleeping, because he is also told words that warn him in his dreams by God. That is why people tell him that, “one has slept while watching a movie – a dream.”

This riddle teaches people on how to have great faith in God, so that they can understand the vision which He grings to them through dreams in their lives.
