920. IYI WIB´ONA NG´WA NG´WIYO ILOLAGE NUKO MILI GOKO.

Ulusumo lunulo, lulolile mihayo iyo igigelega ukubhanhu. Olihoyi munhu uyo, oliadayidililaga imihayo yiniyo iyo iyakubhiye kunguno ya bhujidalonja bhokwe. Lushigu lumo, agagayiwa ijiliwa ija gulya aha ng’wakwe. Uja gujulanda ijiliwa jinijo aha bhuzenganwa. Abhahabhuzenganwa bhenabho, bhagang’wambilija bho gung’wilaga giki, “iyi wib’ona ng’wa ng’wiyo ilolage nuko mili goko.”

Ulusumo lunulo, lugalenganijiyagwa kuli munhu uyo agabhasekaga abhiye abho bhali na makoye, umukikalile kakwe. Umunhu ng’wunuyo, alina bhudoshi bho gubhadalaha abhanhu bhenabho kunguno ya gwibhona bhumani kukila abhiye. Uweyi agapandika makoye mpaka ogayiwa umunhu uo gung’wambilija kunguno ya bhudoshi bhokwe bhunubho, umukikalile kakwe.

Umunhu ng’winuyo, agikolaga nuyo oliadabhalonjaga abhiye uyo  agagayiwa ijiliwa ija gulya aha kaya yakwe, kunguno nuweyi agabhasekaga abhanhu abho bhali na makoye, umukikalile kakwe. Hunagwene abhanhu bhagang’wilaga giki, “iyi wib’ona ng’wa ng’wiyo ilolage nuko mili goko.”

KISWAHILI: ULIYOONA KWA MWENZAKO JITAZAME NA WEWE MWILINI MWAKO.

Methali hiyo, huangalia maneno yanayotokea kwa watu. Alikuwepo mtu mmoja asiyejali matatizo wanayoyatapata wenzake kwa sababu ya majivuno yake. Siku moja, alikosa chakula nyumbani kwake akaenda kuazima kwa jilani yake. Majirani zake hao, walimsaidia kwa kumwambia kwamba, “uliyoona kwa mwenzako jitazame na wewe mwilini mwako.”

Methali hiyo, hulinganishwa kwa mtu yule ambaye huwacheka wenzake waliokumbwa na matatizo, katika maisha yake. Mtu huyo, ana majivuno ya kuwadharau watu hao, kwa sababu ya kujiona kuwa mjuani kupita wenzake. Yeye hupata matatizo ambayo humsumbua kwa muda mrefu kwa sababu ya majivuno yake hayo, maishani mwake.

Mtu huyo, hufanana na yule asiyejali shida za wenzake, kwa sababu naye huwacheka wenzake waliokumbwa na matatizo ya maisha.  Ndiyo maana watu humwambia kwamba, ““uliyoona kwa mwenzako jitazame na wewe mwilini mwako.”

Methali hiyo, hufundisha watu juu ya kuacha tabia ya kuwacheka watu waliko kwenye matatizo, ili waweze kusaidiana katika kuyatatua kwa haraka matatizo yao, maishani mwao.

Luka 16:19-31. ‘‘Palikuwa na mtu mmoja tajiri aliyevaa nguo za rangi ya zambarau na kitani safi, ambaye aliishi kwa anasa, kila siku. Hapo penye mlango wake aliishi maskini mmoja, jina lake Lazaro, mwenye vidonda mwili mzima. Huyo Lazaro alitamani kujishibisha kwa makombo yaliyoanguka kutoka mezani kwa yule tajiri. Hata mbwa walikuwa wakija na kulamba vidonda vyake. ‘‘Wakati ukafika yule maskini akafa, nao malaika wakamchukua akae pamoja na Abrahamu. Yule tajiri naye akafa na akazikwa. Kule kuzimu alipokuwa akiteseka, alitazama juu, akamwona Abrahamu kwa mbali, naye Lazaro alikuwa karibu yake. Hivyo yule tajiri akamwita, ‘Baba Abrahamu, nihurumie na umtume Lazaro achovye ncha ya kidole chake ndani ya maji aupoze ulimi wangu, kwa sababu nina maumivu makuu kwenye moto huu.’ “Lakini Abrahamu akamjibu, ‘Mwanangu, kumbuka kwamba wakati wa uhai wako ulipata mambo mazuri, lakini Lazaro alipata mambo mabaya. Lakini sasa anafarijiwa hapa na wewe uko katika maumivu makuu. Zaidi ya hayo kati yetu na ninyi huko, kumewekwa shimo kubwa, ili wale wanaotaka kutoka huku kuja huko wasiweze, wala mtu ye yote asiweze kuvuka kutoka huko kuja kwetu.’ “Akasema, ‘Basi, nakuomba, umtume Lazaro aende nyumbani kwa baba yangu, maana ninao ndugu watano. Awaonye, ili wasije nao wakafika mahali hapa pa mateso. “Abrahamu akamjibu, ‘Ndugu zako wana Mose na Manabii, wawasikilize hao.’ “ ‘Yule tajiri akasema, ‘Hapana, baba Abrahamu, lakini mtu kutoka kwa wafu akiwaendea, watatubu.’ “Abrahamu akamwambia, ‘Kama wasipowasikiliza Mose na manabii, hawataweza kushawishiwa hata kama atafufuka mtu kutoka kwa wafu.’ ””

Ayubu 22:19. “Wenye haki wanaona maangamizi yao na

kufurahi nao wasio na hatia huwadhihaki, wakisema,…”

Zaburi 22:6-8. “Mimi ni mnyoo wala si mwanadamu, wanaume wamenibeza na watu wamenidharau Wote wanionao hunidhihaki, hunivurumishia matusi, wakitikisa vichwa vyao: Husema, “Anamtegemea BWANA, basi BWANA na amwokoe. Amkomboe basi, kwa maana anapendezwa naye.’’”

Mithali 1:26. “mimi nami nitawacheka katika maafa yenu,

ENGLISH: WHAT YOU SAW TO YOUR COMPANION LOOK AT YOURSELF IN YOUR BODY.

This proverb looks at events that happen to people. There was one man who did not care about problems of his colleagues because of his arrogance. One day, he ran short of food at his house and went to borrow it from his neighbor. His neighbor helped him by telling him that, “What you saw in your companion look at yourself in your body.”

This proverb is related to a man who laughs at his troubled fellows in his life. This man becomes proud at looking down on people who suffer from various tribulations, because he thinks of him being better than others. He gets into trouble that bothers him for a long time because of his arrogance, in his life.

This person resembles the one who did not care about problems of others, because he also laughs at his fellows who face problems in life. That is why people say to him that, “What you saw in your companion look at yourself in your body.”

This proverb imparts in people an idea on stopping to laugh at people who are in troubles, so that they can quickly help each other in solving various problems in their lives.

Luke 16: 19-31 ‘‘There was a rich man dressed in purple and fine linen, who lived in luxury, every day. At the door was a man named Lazarus, who had been crippled all his life. Lazarus longed to be satisfied with the crumbs that fell from the rich man’s table. Even the dogs would come and lick his sores. ‘‘ The time came when the poor man died, and the angels took him and stayed with Abraham. The rich man also died and was buried. And in hell he lift up his eyes, being in torments, and seeth Abraham afar off, and Lazarus in his bosom. So he called out to him, ‘Father Abraham, have mercy on me and send Lazarus to dip his finger in water and cool my tongue, for I am in great pain in this fire.’ “But Abraham replied, ‘Son, remember that in your lifetime you have received your reward. good things, but Lazarus got bad things. But now he is comforted here and you are in great pain. 919. NDIMU YAB’ATOLOKA B’ALASI.

Ulusumo lunulo, luhoyelile higulya ya b’alazi bha ndimu mumapoli. Abhanhu bhanebho bhagayinyamanija ndimu imo iyo bhahayaga guilasa. Indimu yiniyo, igab’anyesha bho gubhatoloka mpaga bhuyigayiwa. Hunagwene abhanhu bhagayomba giki, “ndimu yab’atoloka b’alasi.”

Ulusumo lunulo, lugalenganijiyagwa kuli ng’wanike uyo agahadikijiwa kutolwa na bhabyaji bhakwe kuli ngosha uyo adantogilwe, utoloka aha kaya yabho. Ung’waniki ng’wunuyo, agisongwa na bhatoji bhenabho ubhalema kunguno olidabhatogilwe. Aho obhalema chiniko, abha bhabyaji b’akwe bhaganhadikija giki atolwe bho nguzu. Uweyi agabhanyesha bho gubhatoloka a hakaya yiniyo.

Ung’wanike ng’wunuyo, agikolaga ni ndimu iyo yigabhanyesha bho gubhatoloka ab’alasi bhayo, kunguno nuweyi agab’atoloka bho gubhanyesha abhabyaji bhakwe abho bhanhadikijaga gutolwa na ngosha uyo adantogilwe. Hunagwene abhanhu bhagang’wilaga giki, “ndimu yab’atoloka b’alasi.”

Ulusumo lunulo, lolanga bhabyaji higulya ya kuleka nhungwa ja kubhahadikija gutolwa  bho nguzu abhana bhabho, kunguno uwitoji bhudi bho guhadikwa, kugiki bhadule gwikala bho mholele umukaya jabho.

MNYAMA AMEWACHENGA WAWINDAJI.

Methali hiyo, huongelea juu ya wawindaji wa wanyama poli wanaotumia mishale. Wawindaji hao, walimzingila mnyama mmoja waliyetaka kumpiga kwa mishale yao. Mnyama huyo, aliwachenga wawindaji hao kwa kuwatoroka mpaka wakamkosa. Ndiyo maana watu walisema kwamba, “mnyama amewachenga wawindaji.”

Methali hiyo, hulinganishwa kwa msichana aliyelazimishwa kuolewa na wazazi wake kwa mwanaume asiyempenda, akatoloka kwenye familia hiyo. Msichana huyo, aliposwa na mwanaume ambaye hukumpenda akamkataa. Alipomtakaa hivyo, wazazi wake walimlazimisha kuolewa kwa nguvu. Ndipo yeye alipowachenga kwa kuwatoroka kwenye familia hiyo.

Msichana huyo, hufanana na yule  mnyama aliyewachenga kwa kuwatoroka wawindaji waliotaka kumpiga kwa mshale, kwa sababu naye aliwachenga wazazi wake waliomlazimisha kuolewa kwa nguvu kwa mwanamume ambaye hukumpenda. Ndiyo maana watu humwambia kwamba, “mnyama amechenga wawindaji.”

Methail hiyo, hufundisha wazazi juu ya kuacha tabia ya kuwalazimisha watoto wao kuolewa kwa nguvu, kwa sababu maisha ndoa  siyo ya kulazimishwa, ili waweze kuishi kwa amani kwenye familia zao.

Yohana 10:39. “Ndipo wakajaribu kumkamata kwa mara nyingine, lakini akaponyoka kutoka mikononi mwao.”

Luka 4:30. “Lakini Yeye akapita papo hapo katikati ya huo umati wa watu akaenda Zake.”

ENGLISH: THE PREY HAS SNIFFED THE HUNTERS.

This proverb speaks of hunters who use arrows in forests. These hunters surrounded an animal which they wanted to kill by using their arrows. Such prey escaped by running away from them to an extent of disappearing in their eyes. That is why the people said that, “the prey has sniffed the hunters.”

This proverb is compared to a girl who was forced by her parents to marry a man whom she did not like. She left the family after rejecting him. When she did so, her parents forced her to marry him. Then she spared them by fleeing from that family.

This girl is like the prey that escaped from being killed by hunters who throw an arrow at her, because she also ran away from her parents who forced her to marry a man whom she did not love. That is why people say to each other that, “the prey has sniffed the hunters.”

This proverb teaches parents about giving up a habit of forcing their children to marry against their will, because life in marriage is not forced, so that they can live peacefully in their families.

Imhuli ili ndimu nhale noyi iyo yibhakilile abhana ndimi bhichayo. Indimu yiniyo, nulu igacha idub´ola ukulushigu ulumo duhu, kunguno ya bhutale bhoyo bhunubho. Iyoyi ulu yucha mpaga ishigu jikwile, huna yub’ola lulu. Hunagwene abhanhu bhagayombaga giki, “lushigu lumo ludab´ojaga Mhuli.”

Ulusumo lunulo, lugalenganijiyagwa kuli munhu uyo ali na wiyumilija bho gugamala wangu amakoye gakwe, umuwikaji bhokwe. Umunhu ng’winuyo, agabhutumilaga uwiyumilija bhokwe bhunubho, bho gwikala nzala ulu ogayiyagwa ijiliwa ja gulya ulu ulushugu lunulo, kunguno adadulile ugunanuka bho gukija gulya kulushigu lumo duhu. Uweyi agabhambilijaga na bhiye ugugamala wangu amakoye gabho genayo, kunguno ya wiyumilija bhokwe bhunubho, umuwikaji bhokwe.

Umunhu ng’wunuyo, agikolaga ni Mhuli iyo idabhojiyagwa na lushugu lumo duhu, ulu yachaga, kunguno nuweyi adabhulagagwa ni nikoye lya lushigu lumo duhu, umuwikaji bhokwe. Hunagwene agabhawilaga abhanhu giki, “lushigu lumo lugab’ojaga Mhuli.”

Ulusumo lunulo, lolanga bhanhu higulya ya gubhiza na wiyumilija bho gugamala wangu amakoye gabho, kugiki bhadule gwiyambilija ugulishigila ilikanza lya guyeja chiza na bhichabho, umuwikaji bhobho.

KISWAHILI: SIKU MOJA HAIOZESHI TEMBO.

Tembo ni mnyama mkubwa kuwapita wanyama wenzake. Mnyama huyo, hata akifa haozi kwa siku moja kwa sababu  ya ukubwa wake huo. Yeye akifa huchukua siku nyingi mpaka kuifikia hali hiyo ya kuoza. Ndiyo maana watu husema kwamba, “siku moja haiozeshi tembo.”

Methali hiyo, hulinganishwa kwa mtu yule ambaye ana uvumilivu wa kuyamaliza haraka matatizo yake, katika maisha yake. Mtu huyo, huutumia uvumilivu wake huo kila anapokosa chakula siku hiyo, kwa sababu anaelewa kwamba hawezi kufa kwa njaa ya kushinda bila kula kwa siku moja tu. Yeye huwasaidia na wenzake katika kuyawaliza haraka matatizo yao, kwa kuutumia vizuri utumilivu wake huo, maishani mwake.

Mtu huyo, hufanana na Tembo aliyekufa ambaye hawezi kuoza kwa siku moja tu, kwa sababu naye hauliwi na tatizo la siku moja tu, maishani mwake. Ndiyo maana huwaambia watu kwamba, “siku moja haiozeshi tembo.”

Methali hiyo, hufundisha watu juu ya kuwa na uvumilivu wa kuyamaliza kwa haraka matatizo yao, ili waweze kusaidiana kuifikia hali ya kufurahi vizuri, maishani mwao.

Waebrania 6:15. “Naye baada ya kungoja kwa saburi, Abrahamu alipokea kile kilichoahidiwa.”

Yakobo 5:7-8. “Kwa hiyo, ndugu zangu, vumilieni hadi kuja Kwake Bwana. Angalieni jinsi mkulima angojavyo ardhi itoe mavuno yake yaliyo ya thamani na jinsi anavyovumilia kwa ajili ya kupata mvua za kwanza na za mwisho. Ninyi nanyi vumilieni tena simameni imara, kwa sababu kuja kwa Bwana kumekaribia.”

ENGLISH: ONE DAY DOES NOT ROT AN ELEPHANT.

Elephants are bigger than other animals. This animal, even if it dies, will not decay in one day because of its size. Such animal takes many days to decay after vanishing. That is why people say that, “one day does not rot an elephant.”

This proverb is equated to a man who has patience enough to solve his troubles in life. This man uses his patience every time when he is hungry, because he understands that he cannot die of starvation without eating within only one day. He helps them and their colleagues to quickly solve their problems, by making good use of his perseverance, in his life.

This man is like a dead Elephant that did not rot in only one day, because he also does die because of suffering from a problem of a single day in his life. That is why he tells people that “one day does not rot an elephant.”

This proverb teaches people on how to be patient enough to quickly solve their problems, so that they can help each other in achieving a happy life in their lives.

Hebrews 6:15. “And so, after he had patiently endured, he obtained the promise.”

James 5: 7-8 “Therefore, my brethren, be patient until the coming of the Lord. See how the farmer waits for the earth to produce its precious harvest and for how long he will wait for the first and the last rains. Be ye also patient; establish your hearts: for the coming of the Lord draweth nigh.

2 Peter 3: 9 “The Lord is not slack concerning His promise, as some men count slackness; but is long suffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.”

1 Samuel 28:20 “At once Saul fell full length on the ground and became very much afraid because of Samuel’s words. His strength failed him because he had not eaten anything all day and all night. ”

917. BHUPUGU BHUGABHOJAGA MHULI.

Bhalihoyi bhanhu bhab’ili abho bhali bhupugu. Abhanhu bhenabho, bhali Nkwaya na Nshigi abho bhilomelaga higulya ya mhuli iyo yaliyacha. Unkwaya agang’wila Unshigi giki, “ilelo yachaga Mhuli ukumongo.” Unshigi agashosha, “nduhu ulinilemba duhu iki dulibhupugu.”

Unkwaya agongeja, “naliguwila mhayo go nhana gete dugage dugabhone.” Unshigi agalema aliyomba, “nalemaga unene nadujaga, jaga duhu ub’eb’e koyi kunguno ulinilemba duhu.”

Unshigi ng’wunuyo agalema uguja ukumongo kunuko, nose imhuli yiniyo yubhola kunguno ya gwiganika giki, alimelwa nu npugu okwe. Hunagwene abhanhu bhagayombaga giki, “bhupugu bhugabhojaga mhuli.”

Ulusumo lunulo, lugalenganijiyagwa kuli munhu uyo agatongejaga limela nu mihayo ya nhana, umuwikaji bhokwe. Umunhu ng’wunyo, agailemeja imihayo iyo agawilaga na bhiye kunguno ya gutongeja wimeji bhunubho, bhuli makanza. Uweyi agabhitagwa ni mihayo ya ng’hana kunguno ya gudilila limela linilo ilya gukilanija, umuwikaji bhokwe.

Umunhu ng’wunuyo, agikolaga nu wimeji bho nshigi ubho bhugabhoja mhuli, kunguno nuweyi agatongejaga limela lya gukilanija, umubhutumami bhokwe. Hungwene abhanhu bhagang’wilaga giki, “bhupugu bhugabhojaga mhuli.”

 Ulusumo lunulo, lolanga bhanhu higulya ya kuleka gutongeja wimeji bho gukilanija nu mumihayo ya ng’hana, kugiki bhadule gwiyigwilija chiza imihayo iya ng’hana iyagujibheja chiza ikaya jabho, umuwikaji bhobho.

KISWAHLI: UTANI HUSABABISHA TEMBO KUOZA:-

Walikuwepo watu wawili waliokuwa watani. Watu hao walikuwa mkwaya na mshigi waliokuwa wakiongelea juu ya kifo cha tembo. Mkwaya alimwambia mshigi, “leo kuna tembo amekufa kule mtoni.” Mshigi alijibu, “hakuna unanidanganya tu kwa vile tuwatani.”

Mkwaya aliongeza, “nakuambia jambo la kweli, twende tukamuone.” Mshigi alikataa akisema, “mimi nimekataa nenda tu wewe huko kwa sababu unanidanganya tu.”

Mshigi alikataa kwenda kule mtoni mwishowe yule tembo alioza kwa sababu ya kutanguliza utani huo wa kupitiliza, kila wakati. Ndiyo maana watu walimwambia kwamba, “utani husababisha tembo kuoza.”

Methali hiyo, hulinganishwa kwa mtu yule anatanguliza utani wa kupitiliza hata kwenye maswala ya kweli, maishani mwake. Mtu huyo, huyakataa mambo ya kweli anayoambiwa na wenzake kwa sababu ya kutangulia utani huo, kila wakati. Yeye hupitwa na matukio ya kweli kwa sababu ya kujali utani wake huo uliopitiliza, maishani mwake.

Mtu huyo, hufanana na yule mshigi aliyeukaata ukweli mpaka tembo akaoza, kwa sababu naye hutanguliza utani huo wa kupitiliza, mpaka anapitwa na mambo ya msingi, katika utendaji wake wa kazi. Ndiyo maana watu humwambia kwamba, “utani husababisha tembo kuoza.”

Methali hiyo, hufundisha watu juu ya kuacha kutangulia utani wa kupitiliza kwenye mambo ya kweli, ili waweze kufikishiana vizuri ujumbe wa kuziletea maendeleo familia zao, maishani mwao.

 

Mithali 14:25. “Shahidi wa kweli huokoa maisha, bali shahidi wa uongo ni mdanganyifu.”

Yohana 20:25. “Hivyo wale wanafunzi wengine wakamwambia, ‘’Tumemwona Bwana.’’ Lakini yeye akawaambia, ‘‘Nisipoona zile alama za misumari mikononi mwake na kuweka kidole changu kwenye hizo alama za misumari na mkono wangu ubavuni Mwake, sitaamini.’’”

Luka 21:16. “Mtasalitiwa hata na wazazi, ndugu, jamaa na marafiki na baadhi yenu watawaua.”

ENGLISH: JOKES CAUSE THE ELEPHANT TO GET ROTTEN.

There were two people who were joking to each other. The people came from two different tribes namely: Kwaya and Shigi tribe. Traditionally members of these tribes make jokes to one another in their daily lives.

These two people were talking about the death of an elephant. A Mkwaya told Mshigi, “The elephant has died in the river just now.” A Mshigi replied, “No, you are lying to me just because we joke eath other.”

Mkwaya added, “I am telling you the truth, let’s go and see it.” Mshigi refused, saying, “I have refused to accepted your works because you are just cheating on me.”

Mshigi refused to go to the river and finally the elephant rotted because of the preceding joke, all the time. That is why people said that, “Jokes cause the elephant to get rotten.”

This proverb is compared to a man who introduces a joke to pass on even in real issues, in his life. This person, in turn, rejects the truth of what his fellows tell him because he always jokes about it. He is overwhelmed by real events because of caring for that extreme joke, in his life.

Ulusumo lunulo, luhoyelile higulya ya Nzob’e. Nzob´e ili ndimu iyo idab´ohiyagwa gunguno idashemagwa. Indimu yiniyo, idalemejaga ung´wana ugonhya amab’ele gabho. Kuyiniyo lulu, idiho nguno ya guibhohya, kunguno idina bhuhub’i bhose bhose. Hunagwene abhanhu bhagayombaga giki, “nzob’e idab’ohiyagwa.”

Ulusumo lunulo, lugalenganiyigwa kuli munhu uyo agikalaga chiza na bhanhu umukajile kakwe. Umunhu ng’wunyo, agabhambilijaga abhiye abho bhali na makoye bho kujibhinha ijikolo ijo jigafumilaga mumatwajo ga milimo yakwe. Uweyi apandikaga bhageni bhingi aha kaya yakwe, kunguno ya likujo ilo alinalyo ukubhiye bhenabho, umuwikaji bhokwe.

Umunhu ng’wunyo, agikolaga ni nzob’e iyo idab’ohiyagwa kunguno, nu weyi agatumamaga milimo yakwe chiza, bho nduhu uguhadikijiwa, umuwikaji bhokwe. Hunagwene abhanhu bhagang’wilaga giki, “nzob’e idab’ohiyagwa.”

Ulusumo lunulo, lolanga bhanhu higulya ya gwikomeja gutumama milimo yabho chiza, bho nduhu guhadikijiwa, kugiki bhadule kupandika matwajo mingi, umu milimo yabho.

Ulusumo lunulo, hangi lolanga bhanhu higulya ya guleka gubhib’onela abhanhu abho bhadina bhuhubhi bhose bhose, umuwikaji bhobho.

KISWAHILI: PUNDA HAFUNGWI KAMBA MIGUUNI:-

Methali hiyo, huongelea juu ya Punda. Punda ni myama asiyefungwa kamba miguuni mwake kwa sababu huwa hakamuliwi. Mnyama huyo, huwa hamnyimi mtoto wake kunyoma maziwa yake. Kwa hiyo, hakuna sababu ya kumfunga kamba miguuni mwake mnyama huyo. Ndiyo maana watu husema kwamba, “punda hafungwi kamba miguuni.”

Methali hiyo, hulinganishwa kwa mtu yule ambaye huishi vizuri na watu katika mwenendo wake wa maisha. Mtu huyo, huwasaidia wenzake walioko kwenye matatizo kwa kuwapatia mahitaji yao kutoka kwenye mapato ya kazi zake. Yeye hupata wageni wengi kwenye famiia yake, kwa sababu ya heshima aliyo nayo kwa wenzake hao, maishani mwake.

Mtu huyo, hufanana na yule Punda asiye fungwa kamba miguuni, kwa sababu naye hufanya kazi zake vizuri, na bila kulazimishwa, maishani mwake. Ndiyo maana watu humwambia kwamba, “punda hafungwi kamba miguuni.”

Methali hiyo, hufundisha watu juu ya kujibidisha kuyatekeleza vizuri majukumu yao, bila kushurutishwa, ili waweze kupata mafanikio mengi katika kazi zao.

Methali hiyo huyo pia kuwafundisha watu juu ya kutotoa adhabu kwa mtu au kitu kisichokuwa na kosa lolote.

Isaya 42:3. “mwanzi uliopondeka hatauvunja na utambi ufukao moshi hatauzima. Kwa uaminifu ataleta haki,…”

Marko 5:3-4. “Mtu huyu aliishi makaburini, wala hakuna aliyeweza kumzuia hata kwa kumfunga minyororo, kwa kuwa mara kwa mara alikuwa amefungwa kwa minyororo mikononi na miguuni, akaikata hiyo minyororo na kuzivunja zile pingu miguuni mwake. Hapakuwa na mtu ye yote aliyekuwa na nguvu za kumzuia.”

ENGLISH: A DONKEY IS NOT TIED BY ROPE TO THE LEGS.

This proverb speaks of the Donkey. A donkey is an animal that is not tied by rope to its legs because she is not milked. This animal does not deprive her baby of her milk. Therefore, there is no need to tie her around her legs. That is why people say that, “A Donkey is not tied by rope to the legs.”

This proverb is equaled to the person who lives well with people in his or her way of life. This person, in turn, assists colleagues who are in need by providing them with their basic needs from the income of his or her works. He/she finds many visitors in the family, because of the respect he/she has to others.

This person resembles the Donkey that was not tied by ropes in her legs, because he/she also does work well, and without compulsion, in life. That is why people say to him/her that, “A Donkey is not tied by rope to the legs.”

This proverb imparts in people a clue on how to work hard enough to fulfill their responsibilities, without coercion in their societies, so that they can be more successful in their works.

The same proverb also teaches people about not punishing a person or thing without any guilt.
