ENGLISH: THAT IS ‘KAKUNGUBALA (AN ANT).’

The overhead saying refers to a creature which is locally called ‘kakungub’ala.’ This creature is a type of squirrel that always runs away. It does not settle in one place, in its life. That is why people say to one another, “that is ‘kakungubala (an ant).’”

This saying is applied to a person who does not stay at his family, in life. This person, in turn, walks carelessly because of his reluctance to work. He suffers from famine in his family, because of his way of walking here and there without working, in his life.

This person resembles to the kakumgub’ala that ran all the time, without resting in one place, because he also does not stay at his family in life. That is why when people see him, say to one another, “that is ‘kakungubala (an ant).”

This saying, teaches people on how to live well with their families, by striving to fulfill their responsibilities, so that they can better develop their families, in their lives.
